In Radical Highway, Shadow and the Gwens lands on a platform, with Black Doom looming over them, in which the trio turns around to see him.
"The time has come, Shadow."
"Agreed." Shadow said.
"Yeah! Time to commit genocide to a race!" Classic Gwen agreed as Black Doom attempted to possess the Gwens, but Shadow took it instead.
"Ha ha ha!" Doom Shadow laughed as the Gwens gasped in horror as he smirked.
"Now, my slaves... Join me." Doom Shadow said, but the Gwens took out their katanas.
"Never! Give back, Shadow!" they yelled in unison but he punched them to different floating platforms.
Doom Shadow flew over for Gwen and tried to punch her, but she leapt over the punch and he punched the platform, cracking it. Classic Gwen leapt and slashed him as he grunted in pain.
"Snap out of it!" she shouted.
Doom Shadow kicked her up then uses chaos snap and kicked her though three floating roads, causing dust clouds. He laughed evilly before suddenly Gwen hugs him.
"Shadow! Shadow! Shadow!" she called as she removed his rings and Shadow broke free, sending Black Doom out of his body.
Gwen smiled and placed his rings back on his wrists.
"Thanks, Gwen." Shadow said appreciatively and relieved.
"Time to sever this bond between us forever." Shadow declared.
Black Arms energy envelopes as Black Doom cackles, before the energy erupts in a mighty force. Giant wings begin to sprout out, signaling the arrival of Devil Doom. Shadow and the Gwens prepares themselves to battle him once more, as the colossal entity looms over, with Doom's Eye flying to the socket, and inserting itself in to complete the look.
"Embrace your fate."
Devil Doom lets out a bellowing roar as he says this, in which the domain shatters to reveal a complex version of Radical Highway.
"I thought he looked ugly before." Classic Gwen groaned in disgust.
Shadow grabs the Gwens and flies back with the Doom Wing, and seemingly straight towards him. Devil Doom in response unleashes cells which shoot out lasers to hinder the hedgehogs, although Shadow dodges them all.
"My sword's on fire!" Classic Gwen screamed, blowing it out.
"You think that's bad ... My hair's on fire!" Gwen said I'm exasperation.
Shadow and the Gwens dives into the water, for it to be revealed that he used Doom Surf to chase down Devil Doom, this time with the goal of destroying his archenemy once and for all.
" You were made to serve my will!" Devil Doom said as they went though a blue ring.
Shadow drifts into some rocky orbs, knocking them at Devil Doom.
"Now join me as we were made to do." Devil Doom continued, trying to control the Gwens.
"Defy me at your own peril."Shadow denied.
"Yeah! You're so boring! Blah blah blah! I want to rule the world!" Classic Gwen mocked, rolling her eyes and sticking out her tongue.
They keep drifting into orbs, knocking them at Devil Doom then went on a ramp.
"Get ready!" Gwen told her counterpart.
Heading up the ramp and to the boost rings, Shadow performs Doom Blast before he kicks off of Devil Doom, and back into the water.
"Did you think we wouldn't surpass you?" Shadow questioned.
Triple spin dash they say spin dashing into the eye then attacks it with punches, kicks and slashes from both Gwens then Shadow grabs Gwen who grabs classic Gwen and launches her for a huge slash as he flew back as she used a water sheild and bounced off a orb with a super bounce then slashes the eye again.
"WAY TO GO!" Gwen cheered and leapt as Classic Gwen grabbed her and launched her as Gwen hits Devil Doom with a ice slash as Devil Doom roared in pain as Gwen made the water ice and chased after him.
Shadow knocks some orbs back to him then went on a grind rail then leaps and starts attacking him again. Soon, Classic Gwen ends up on a building alone and spin dashes as she used a lighting shield to perform double jump then perform a drop dash and spin dashes around dodging lasers as she leaps and slashes him with a bunch of lighting slashes.
"Ha! That's for mind-controlling me!" Classic Gwen laughed.
Devil Doom flew away as she half of his health remaining, Devil Doom opens a portal to a different location. Shadow follows in pursuit, with the Doom Surf carrying him to the portal, where the corrupted bog on the platforms resided. Devil Doom swaps to his other head, the Eye of Doom inserting itself into the socket. Still airborne, Shadow says farewell to the manta ray that is Doom Surf, and swaps to Doom Morph after making contact with a purple orb, in which he swings to the platform.
"Perhaps I have underestimated your power. Perhaps I should actually starttrying!" Devil Doom said.
"Hollow threats from a hollow monster!" Shadow retorted.
Gwen was on a cracked up road as she boosts around and sees orbs falling. She uses the boost to avoid them then leaps and preforms an ice slash on him as he flew away. Shadow used Doom Morph to get close and attacks him. He soon lands on a platform.
"This isn't good." Shadow said and dodged a laser beam.
Gwen boosts up a tower and hits him with a homing attack then he grabs her and smirks, but Classic Gwen stabs his hand, freeing her bigger counterpart as Gwen makes an ice platform. Shadow uses Doom morph and swings around then doding lasers then leaps and attacks him a bunch of times. Then Devil Doom begins to mutate.
"Again? Bleh! I'm gonna vomit!" Classic Gwen gagged in disgust.
Shadow uses his Doom Wings to fly and grabs the girls.
"I got a cool name! Neo Devil Doom!" Classic Gwen said.
"You are truely my finest creation." Neo Devil Doom said, trying to mind control the Gwens but they stayed strong "A testament to my bloodline."
Shadow flew though the holes of the building.
"See yourself as what you really are." Neo Devil Doom said.
"We're nothing like you! We've surpassed you!" Shadow said.
"Newsflash, we've faced worse!" Gwen glared.
Shadow drifts into some white crystals, knocking them back at Neo Devil Doom then got close as the trio attacks him with a flurry of attacks as Classic Gwen used a flame shield, boosting into him and burning him a bit.
"Resistance is futile! We will be reborn." Neo Devil Doom promised.
"Reborn into obscurity!" Classic Gwen mocked as they attacked him again.
Neo Devil Doom tries slashing at them but they dodged.
"Hang on!" Shadow said to the girls.
"All hail Shadow! Heroes rise again!"the Gwens sing a bit as Shadow knocked the crystals into Neo Devil Doom then boosted into him.
"Chaos Control!" Neo Devil Doom yelled, freezing them in place. "Your future is decided. We will be one." he said, but Shadow and Gwen broke free as Classic Gwen shook her head.
Holding the girls close to him, Shadow flew around, dodging the evil villain's claws and dodging lasers.
"I'm gonna throw you now." Shadow warned them.
"Wait, what?" Gwen asked as Shadow tossed them up as he blocked one of his hands then kicked him then the Gwens cut his wings and leap off.
"You're a fool!" Gwen shouted to Neo Devil Doom.
"We can't be stop. You're not the king. Shadow is. All hail Shadow all the way!" Classic Gwen declared.
"You're blinded by your own ambitions. " Shadow said.
Neo Devil Doom roared and send buildings at the trio.
"Remember those Chaos Spears we did earlier?" Gwen asked.
"I think so." Classic Gwen answered, a bit unsure.
Nearing defeat, Neo Devil Doom roars, continuing his attack as Shadow and the Gwens dodges debris. Flying above, Shadow is caught off-guard as the monster appears behind them, grasping them in his hands.
"Crud!" Gwen cursed.
"You canot deny what you are! We are one and the same!" Neo Devil Doom taunted.
Shadow and the Gwens breaks free, shining in a yellow aura as they stands firm against their opponent.
"I'm Shadow the Hedgehog!" Shadow said.
"I'm Gwen the Hedgehog!" the Gwens said in unison.
"The destiny in our path is to end you!" the trio finished, summoning giant icy doom spears for their final strike.
"Now - TO END THIS!" Shadow yelled.
The Icy Doom Spears pelt Neo Devil Doom as Shadow and the Gwens sends more at him as he yells in pain.
"I crafted everything up till now...and yet, YOU DENY ME!?" Neo Devil Doom yelled angrily.
The trio charges at Devil Doom, and with a battle cry, they strikes straight through the alien's body.
"Shadow...! You...! GRAHHHHHHHH!"
Neo Devil Doom cries out as his body explodes...
Shadow and the Gwens returns from their triumph against Black Doom as the Black Moon explodes, dispersing the Radical Highway gimmicks. Just as they land, Shadow winces as the Doom Wing withers away for good... and the Dark energy inside the Gwens' mind faded away from good, freeing them from Black Doom's control.
"Finally! Nice to get my body back to me." she said. "Gotta go Super Sonic racing!" she sang a bit then the Gwens struck a pose.
"Come on, Shadow. Join in." they teased as he sighed in defeat and did a pose with them.
Suddenly, Rouge flew in.
"Nice work, you three! Perfect timing, too. Sonic is getting ready to confront the monster that trapped us here. If I'm going to switch the Emeralds without him noticing, we have to do it now." Rouge informed them.
Shadow nodded.
"Very well. I leave it to you."
"Good luck." Gwen said.
"Okay, I'll take care of it. Aren't you coming? They're your brothers." Rouge asked the Gwens before turning to Shadow. "He might need your help as well, Shadow."
"We need to settle something first." Shadow said.
"Whatever."
Rouge winks at the Gwens as she takes the Emerald and flies off. They leap off platforms and land infront of Maria and Gerald.
"We did it! Now, come on! We need to help our brothers." Classic Gwen said eagerly. "Maybe you two can meet our friends."
"What did we just say about timelines?" Gwen questioned.
"They already saw us." Classic Gwen pointed out.
"Good point." Gwen said, realizing she's right.
"Shadow? Gwens? I knew you guys could do it!" Maria smiled, but she suddenly collapsed.
"Maria!?" Shadow said in worry, knelting down to her aid.
"I'm okay. Really." Maria assured him.
Shadow notices Maria's hand fading away, as well as Gerald's.
"Professor! What's happening?" he asked with worry.
"Oh no..." Gwen said in sadden realization.
"Without Black Doom's influence, the time anomaly is beginning to heal. We are returning to our own point in time." Gerald explained, causing Classic Gwen to tear up in realization that she will never see them again.
Shadow's eyes widened in horror and anxiety.
"I'll stop Rouge! Use Chaos Control! Stop this moment in time and...!"
Shadow goes to run off when Maria stops him.
"Shadow... no. We don't want to be frozen in one place in time. Besides, your friends need your help."
"But you don't know what's going to happen!" Shadow said as Gwen walked over.
Maria gives Shadow last farewell hug.
"I know I'll see you again. And if fate draws us apart, I will always be in your heart." she said softly. "You and Gwen take care of each other."
"Maria... Thank you for everything. We wouldn't have been able to s-s-s-sto-pp-p Bl-black Doom without your help..." Classic Gwen sniffed.
"You really are something. And Professor... Thanks for bringing Shadow to this world... you're a true hero." Gwen said tearing up a bit.
"Gwens... Look, I never got to spend much time with my siblings ... Cherish yours, okay?" Maria asked as they sniffed and nodded.
"Maria... Wait...!"
Anguished, Shadow refuses to watch further as he runs off, Gwen and Classic Gwen waves goodbye and skates after Shadow, Maria and Gerald watching contentedly before they disappear to their point in time.
Rouge sees Shadow and the Gwens pass by,Shadow tears up as he flashes back to his past of seeing Maria for the first time, taking classes, everything. It hit so hard. Shadow sheds a single tear as it lands on Gwen's face, who's also crying along with Classic Gwen.
Rogue sees this and was so confused then sees the Gwens also crying as she realizes their emotional state. However, she stays quiet as they depart for the Time Eater's lair. The Gwens and Shadow stop.
"Shadow..." Gwen started.
"G-Go..." Shadow said, his voice cracking.
"I'm so sorry..." Gwen frowned.
"50 years of pain, and I finally got to say goodbye..." Shadow said as the Gwens froze, realizing Shadow never actually got to say goodbye.
The Gwens hugged him before leaving him alone.
They eventually caught with the Sonics.
"Gwen!" Sonic smiled as the Sonics hugged the Gwens, who burst like a dam breaking down.
"What's wrong?" Sonic asked with concern.
"Ma-Ma..." Gwen stammered.
"Huh?" Sonic questioned.
"Maria?" Tails guessed as the Gwens nodded.
"We'll talk about it later ... Let's go save our timeline." Classic Gwen suggested, sniffing.
"Are you sure?" Sonic asked as the Gwens hugged the Sonics tighter.
"Yeah. We stick together, no matter what." the Gwens said.
They soon place the Chaos Emeralds on the gears and the portal opens. The six of them run into a room and skid to a stop in front of the Time Eater.
"Okay, gruesome! You're cornered! So how about you restore the timeline like you found it?" Sonic suggestedn punching his fist.
"Yeah! 'Cause I'm not in a good mood!" Gwen agreed, her eyes and ruby sparking.
"Yeah! And it's a certain egg!" Classic Gwen added as Gwen nodded.
"No way! He got su-" Classic Tails started.
The head opens, revealing Eggman.
"You're not in a position to demand anything, you nasty little pincushion!" he insulted.
"Eggman!" Tails exclaimed as Gwen and Sonic facepalmed themselves in annoyance.
"We went from an epic drama battle with Black Doom for this?" Gwen questioned in exasperation.
The second sphere opens up to show Classic Eggman.
"Dr Robotnik!" Classic Tails glared.
"Someone pick up a phone 'cause I called it!" Classic Gwen said sarcastically.
"Nobody calls me that anymore. If you would be so kind as to explain, gentleman genius Dr. Eggman from the Future?" Classic Eggman asked.
"It will be my pleasure, most excellent and efficacious Dr. Eggman from the Past." Eggman grinned.
Flashback to the events of Sonic Colors, Orbot and Cubot push the Eggmobile though space with Eggman inside. They find the Time Eater, which Eggman scans it. Impressed with what he has found, Eggman flies towards the Time Eater, leaving Orbot and Cubot alone.
"After Sonic and Gwen ruined my interstellar amusement park,I stumbled upon a dark, primordial essence. I discovered it possessed abilities I've long desired to harness for myself! Namely that it could travel through the dimension of time! So I decided to utilize its marvelous capabilities and rewrite the past!" Eggman explained. "In order to perfect it, I needed the help of somebody as smart as I am. The only person that smart... is me!" he finished.
"Oh, you are too kind, my dear future self! And I was happy to help." Classic Eggman chuckled as Classic Gwen rolled her eyes while Gwen yawned.
"But the more your monster tears through the timeline, the more damage you do to it!" Tails stated.
"So? I'm going to erase that line and reshape it as I see fit! Oh hoo ho ho! Oh oh oho oo!" Eggman laughed evilly.
"Oh, Chaos! He's insane! He's really insane!" Classic Gwen groaned. "All this over an amusement park?"
"Shut it, brat!" Eggman glared.
"Why don't you?" Classic Gwen spat back.
"Huh. And they call me eccentric." Classic Eggman commented.
"You really are." Classic Gwen stated as Gwen laughed.
"Yeah, he kinda is." Gwen giggled in agreement.
"No one will judge us anymore after we've destroyed these Sonics and Gwens - forever!" Eggman declared.
"Shall we begin then, doctor?" Classic Eggman asked.
"By all means, my dear doctor." Eggman answered.
"Destroy us in your dreams, we beat you all the time now there's four of us!" Sonic and Gwen said at once as Classic Sonic and Classic Gwen did a back flip and high fived their counterparts.
"Then we'll have four times the fun!" Eggman said.
The Sonics and Gwens split up, dodging some purple energy attacks.
"Whoa!" Classic Gwen yelped.
"Keep moving!" Sonic encouraged them.
"Move all you want! I'm still going to stomp you into a blue jelly." Eggman said.
One of the Time Eater's arms disappears into a Time Hole. Both Sonics and Gwens jump and try to attack the Time Eater, but get knocked away. Before they can recover, the disappeared arm reappears and smashes them into the ground. The arm lifts, revealing both Sonics and Gwens knocked out cold and vulnerable.
"That was just to soften you up. Now it's time to meet your doom." Eggmam grinned, ready to strike.
"Sonic, Gwen, we're here!" Classic Amy shouted, coming by.
"Don't give up, Sonic and Gwen!" Amy added with hope.
"You can crack 'em open!" Classic Knuckles encouraged as they stood next to their counterparts.
"You're tougher than that! Come on!" Knuckles said. "Gwen, you got this!"
"On your feet, Sonic." Shadow said, landing next to Gwen. "You better not let Gwen down."
"You're not beat yet!" Rouge added.
Soon all of Sonic's and Gwen's friends starts encouraging them to fight back. Shadow walks up and helps the Gwens up as the Emeralds glow as they rise.
"Yeah! Time to scramble some Eggmen Super Sonic and Super Gwen style!" Sonic and Gwen said in unison.
Together, the four hedgehogs along with Shadow turns Super. The Gwen's katanas glow as well. Gwen summons her obsidian sword while Classic Gwen's katana transforms into a brand new gem sword. She gasped
"Shadow?" Super Sonic questioned in surprise.
"I don't entirely trust you." Super Shadow said.
"Oh, and we beat Black Doom and won the bet. So we win!" Classic Super Gwen teased.
Classic Super Sonic looked annoyed before they got ready for a final showdown. They dodged some arrows and dodged a swipe then Classic Super Sonic spin dashes into the core, knocking it back as they flew over marble zone as some bats flew towards them but the super hogs spin dash into them.
Super Sonic, Super Shadow and Super Gwen boost into the time eater's core again and again. Super Sonic punches it, sending it flying as the Gwens slashes away at it, knocking it around as it shoots energy blasts at them as they dodge.
"Chaos Control!" Super Shadow yelled, freezing time to avoid a lot of arrows and punches the core a bunch of times.
Then it flew to the Classic Super Hedgehogs as it tries shooting arrows, but they dodge and spin into it's core sending it flying. Time Eatertries swiping at them again but they dodge. They flew over Twinkle Park then Westoplosis then Mirage Saloon, dodging homing shots and green lasers.
A bunch of Badniks shot a bunch of lasers as of some of the leftover Black Arms came and knocked them back and some G.U.N robots flew by.
"RAAAH!" Super Shadow screamed and suddenly, the Black Arms was all being tossed everywhere as Super Shadow unleashed Chaos Blast at them.
"You stupid robots!" Super Gwen yelled, kicking them away.
Classic Super Gwen uses Chaos Control and punches and kicks a few Badniks before ending it, shocking Classic Super Sonic at her new power. Suddenly, the Egg Fleet arises a lot of airships and flies through time portals and aims missiles and lasers as the five hedgehogs and rush so fast, they were blurs and they break through the Egg Fleet, causing it to explode.
"You may wanna look up!" Eggman warned them.
The five of them gasp as it shoots a sun, but they boost through it and went through the Time Eater, causing an explosion. The five superpower hedgehogs strike a pose after defeating Time Eater.
