Chapter Sixteen – Cyber Space

Unfortunately, Eggman was aware of Sukko's existence, and that he was a powerful Sorcerer of Magic. He suspected that the reason why the Human hadn't ratted out on him, to the world government, the Mobian Authorities, was simply because of the intense fear of him. Sukko growled. Not ideal. He was well aware, that desperate, especially frightened people, were capable of desperate measures, which left the Eggman somewhat unpredictable. It potentially left the family, in even more danger, especially Sonic. One slip of the tongue, and they were done for. But try, as the Sorcerer might, he couldn't wipe clean the Human's memories of him.

Eggman's intelligence was so vast, and his mind so complicated, that Sukko desperately struggled to find and then remove the correct memories, without killing the Human, and that was out of the question. Sukko wasn't a murderer, plus he doubted that removing the Human alone would actually help matters. The Eggman Empire was so robotic and heavily automated, that it could potentially run itself, without him, which could lead to a whole host of new problems, and be significantly more dangerous. So Sukko played a different game with him. To make him forget, with the whole 'out of sight, out of mind' approach.

Up to now, it had worked, especially during the world war against Infinite. But it left Sukko with enough peace away from the Human, to mediate, which he did, to better control his Magic. One day, he was sat quietly, in the Penthouse, cross-legged, on the floor, hands resting in front of him, eyes closed. Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, feeling something, which caused the Sorcerer, to round on his twin, with a warning. Sonic frowned, down the Psychic Link. The powerful telepathic connection the twins were born with, and regularly talked down, despite being at opposite ends of Mobius. The Blue Blur heaved. His brother's quietness and hesitancy gave him away.

{Sukko, what's going on?} He pried, knowing his twin, a little too well. Finally, the Sorcerer caved.

{Your right, as always, I could never hide anything from you.} He heaved. But Sonic gritted his teeth, as he hissed and hard.

{Please, tell me. I don't care how stupid it sounds.} He spat. Finally, the Sorcerer nodded.

{Alright. I've been meditating and I just can't help but shake the feeling that something is coming, but I have no idea what.} He heaved. {And that 'we', either you or me, I can't tell which, is at the heart of it.} He added. But Sonic frowned.

{How?} He wondered. But Sukko growled.

{I don't know, Sonikku. I don't have the gift of Foresight.} He spat. But Sonic gulped, well aware of this.

{Hey, easy, Sukko, I know. But your hunches also have a nasty habit of being insanely accurate. You must have felt something on your Telepathy.} He frowned, but then he smiled down the Psychic Link. {Thanks for the warning. Watch your back out there.} He beamed, as the Sorcerer nodded in return.

{Same to you, Sonikku.} He smiled, and with that, the twins went their separate ways.

The events on the Starfall Islands had left everyone extremely shaken. Sonic was exhausted. Five islands, six enormous Super-Sonic boss fights, and successfully fending off corruption, and now the Blue Blur was on his knees. But he saw it all coming. Sukko's warning. It had struck a serious cord with him, as Sonic had gone out of way to mentally and physically prepared himself for, basically, anything, and boy, was he grateful, he did.

The 'something coming' his brother had speculated on, was the End, and Sukko had definitely felt it on his Telepathy. A monster that powerful, very yes. He hadn't needed his brothers help with that fight, the Chaos Emeralds were enough, as always, but Sukko had his back. Because of him, the events of Starfall Islands, didn't catch him off guard, like everyone else, allowing him to fight back and hard, and escape Cyber Space.

But now it was all over and Tails, Amy and Knuckles were all very keen to go their own ways. Sonic let them. He knew that they'd been though hell, trapped in Cyber Space, and soon he was alone. Normally, not a problem, he'd just go travelling, but he just wasn't in the mood. He seen everything Mobius had to offer, but he was desperate for company, but didn't want to pester anyone.

So he had a idea. To visit someone very special. But they each had their own lives, but his apartment was always there if he needed it. But the journey there, was intensely lonely, as Sonic needed him. His brother. His twin. The Blue Blur was almost in tears when he arrived, but as expected, the Sorcerer wasn't in his Penthouse. He was a Doctor, who worked every hour, of everyday, saving lives. So Sonic just hung around and waited.

When the door finally opened, with Sukko coming home. Sonic immediately ran and swung his arms around his twin, hugging him to death. The Sorcerer wasn't surprised, comforting him back. He heard the stories of what had happened on the Starfall Islands, and would have been worried if the Blue Blur hadn't have come home.

Sonic stayed and for days, they just talked, in between Sukko's shifts at the hospital. But all was not well. Since entering Cyber Space, Sonic had not felt the same since, and it's mental connection with him, seemed to be getting stronger. Regardless, it left Sonic extremely wary, so he began training, just to ease his mind, with his swords. He was a master at it, but never told anyone. He told Shadow, when he joined the family, that he didn't do guns, because the sword was always his weapon of choice. So for hours, he just practice alone in his bedroom of the Penthouse.

The room reflected the Blue Blur perfectly. There was no furniture, just a bed, in the middle, he never slept in, and on the floor next to it, was a very large well worn, long pile rug, that he did. Down the other side of the bed, were stands containing various string instruments. An acoustic guitar, a bass guitar, a electric guitar, a ukulele, and a banjo. Around every inch of the walls in the room was covered. Thousands of newspaper and magazine clippings has been cut out and stuck to the walls. Non of the clippings were about himself, the Blue Blur. It was everyone but him. A section on Tails and one on Knuckles. There was one entire wall dedicated Shadow and Team Dark, which completely took aback the Ultimate Lifeform, when he saw it. There was another wall on the Chaotix, and there were large sections on Blaze and Silver and a small one on Amy.

As he trained, Sonic had strapped to his back, a harness, which clipped to his cross shape central strapping at the front. He carried a pair of twin Sai knives, a traditional Okinawan melee weapon, traditionally used for stabbing. But Sonic threw them, as they always returned to his hands, like boomerangs, and a pair of Samurai swords.

Suddenly, one day, the twins were hanging out in the apartment, sparing, training and talking, when, out of nowhere, the bright red portal of Cyber Space, opened up directly beneath them. The Sorcerer successfully jumps clear, being more on the ball this time, having been caught off guard before. But Sonic, with his swords still strapped to his back, was sucked right in. But Sukko grabbed him, and using his powerful Telekinesis, somehow managed to pull him free from the portal. It reluctantly closed, having lost it's prize.

Suddenly, the mysterious symbolic glyph which had followed Sonic all the way around the Starfall Islands, appeared across the sky, high above Robotropolis. Both the twins were confused, Sonic still having no idea what it meant. Was it a symbol of the Ancients or of Cyber Space itself? But Sukko frowned and hard, looking out the window.

"I've seen that symbol before, in my dreams." He frowned. But Sonic gasped.

"What?" He stammered, though truthfully, not that surprised. Sukko's extra sensory perception, with the telepathy, was off the charts, and it engulfed the entire planet. How his brother stayed sane, Sonic had no idea. But it meant that he saw everything at a completely different level to everyone else, especially with experiences bouncing between the twins, down the Psychic Link. Sonic heaved.

"That symbol's all over the Starfall Islands. No one knows what it means." He stammered. But suddenly, Sukko, in his long, black coat, just stood and stared into the distance, as his eyes glowed a deep blue. Suddenly, Sonic felt it, down the Psychic Link. He blinked as his twin. "Sukko, what do you see?" He wondered, looking in his eyes's direction, towards the mysterious glyph. Suddenly, the Sorcerer deeply frowned, as he snapped his head towards his twin.

"Family." He panted. "That's what the symbol means." He gasped. Suddenly, Sukko grabbed his head, his eyes still glowing. "I can hear them. The Ancients. Very faint, in the far distance. Minds and souls, fighting for what they believe is most important. Their families." He stammered. But Sonic gulped.

"Whoa! That's Cyber Space, and the Ancients used it as a place to store and control the Chaos Emeralds but also as a place to run to, when their entire civilisation was destroyed by the End. Their lives are in that place." He heaved, but then he frowned. "But even though I entered Cyber Space, I never found the safe haven of the Ancients. Their city. It must be buried deep in there." He summated. But Sukko frowned, still glowing eyes, blinking hard at the glyph. He knew what Cyber Space was. Sonic had told him. The incredibly sophisticated digital dimension, created by the Ancients. He gulped.

"It's under threat. This isn't over for the Starfall Islands. That was what the red portal was for, they were calling for help." He hissed. But Sonic frowned, immediately wanting to go. The Ancients aided him, time to return the favour.

"How do I find them, let alone get into the city? Cyber Space and the Starfall Islands are huge." He blasted. But Sukko smirked.

"I think the Ancients valued family, more then anything else. How, I'm not sure, but that's why you never found them, and when you did, they came to you. You and your friends are not related, and you can't go alone." He hissed, rounding on his twin. Sonic gulped, and hard. He hadn't planned on taking Sukko back with him to the Starfall Islands, but now he may not have the choice. Everything he was saying made enormous sense, but truthfully, he was frightened. He gulped.

"We don't have the Chaos Emeralds." He stammered, but Sukko just giggled, holding out a hand to him. He smiled, as the glow of his eyes faded away to nothing.

"We don't need them." He grinned, waggling the hand at his brother, for him to take. Sonic nodded. Time to return to Starfall Islands, but this time Sukko was going with him. Someone or something was heavily manipulating Cyber Space, which wasn't good, and they would need the skills of a super class A hacker to get to the bottom of it. Coincidentally, Sukko was a expert in intelligence before he became a Doctor, and with his ability as a master Sorcerer, the Blue Blur fancied his chances, as Sonic grabbed the hand, and suddenly, the twins vanished, in a cloud a hundreds of bright white orbs.

Suddenly, the twins landed in an area that was constantly shifting and buzzing, all around them. It showed elements from various locations, from all around Mobius, which appeared to be based on the visitor's memories. Some of these elements include South Island, West Side Island, Angel Island, the Egg Net, the United Federation, G.U.N. military stations, the Final Egg, and even the Donpa Kingdom, all floating the the sky around them. The Ancients city, their safe haven is also there, just visible in the far distance. Moving towards it, made it twist and warp, but never gaining access. However, the environments in Cyber Space were much more abstract than normal, and the landscapes were floating in midair as fragmented islands and structures, like suspended highways which had been turned and twisted around both horizontally and vertically, forming incoherent networks of roads. Suddenly, Sukko growled, but Sonic stopped him.

"Wait. I know this place. It's Cyber Space." He declared. But the Sorcerer gasped.

"What? I thought you aimed that Orb for the Starfall Islands." He hissed. Orbing may have been Sukko's superpower, but holding his brother's hand, the Blue Blur could guide it anywhere. But Sonic gulped.

"I did. The teleport must have been hijacked to bring us here." He gulped. But Sukko frowned, not convinced.

"What? That's impossible. Due to the nature of how Orbing works, it can't be physically hijacked. Your body is literally turned hundreds of tiny bright white orbs. Splitting part, and then amassing again afterwards. They would have had to intervene with every single one of the tiny orbs separately. It's not like Chaos Control, where you teleport as one singular entity." He thought, then he rounded on his twin. "No, Orbing teleports to a place, exactly as it is. Through illusions." He frowned. "Even though you were outside of Cyber Space, on Starfall Islands, themselves, did the land masses look real to you?" He added. Sonic blinked and then swore.

"Sukko, what are you saying? That it was all an elaborate fake." He spat, somewhat angry to have been taken for a fool. But the Sorcerer nodded.

"Yes, to some degree, but as you know with my own Illusions, even mock lightning can kill. I know fake when I see it. Anything can look real, if you want it too. Everything that happened to you on Starfall Islands was genuine. The boss fights, the puzzles, all the towers, and the interactions with your friends. But I don't think the islands themselves are. The land masses don't exist. They were created by the Ancients, as the foundations for their Cyber Space dimension. When you first told me about them, I looked but failed to find the islands on any maps." He explained. But Sonic frowned.

"And I only found out about them, because Eggman told me." He added, then he gulped, as he rounded on his twin. "Sukko, what's going on?" He wondered. But the Sorcerer heaved.

"I have no idea, but I have a hunch that the answer is here, in Cyber Space, and not out there, on the islands themselves. You've already done that side of the story. Now it's my turn." He smiled. Sonic gasped, and then nodded. Sukko was right, as always. His original warning about Starfall Islands stated the Blue Blur or the Sorcerer could be involved. Why not both, as two halves of the story. Sonic heaved, and finally nodded.

But suddenly, out of nowhere, they were surrounded by hundreds of copies of Badniks, and G.U.N. aircraft and tanks, whom just fired thousands of bullets. Sukko went for them with his telekinesis, but Sonic got there first. Suddenly, the entire area filled with deafening sound of gunfire, straight at the Blue Blur. But he didn't go down. Quite the opposite. As the first gun fired, he became nothing more then a blur, he had grabbed both the Samurai swords off his back. He immediately began twisting them around out in front of him, his arms crossed, in a large circular figure of eight motion. This was done in such a way, so unbelievable fast, that it was defecting every bullet straight back at the gun machine who fired it, disintegrating the illusion.

The fact that he had the time to calculate this, on top of everything, truly showed the real true speeds the Blue Blur could work at. Faster then a bullet from a sub machine gun itself at six hundred and seventy metres per second, Sonic was outpacing them all. More then twice the speed of sound, and considering he was still growing, there was potential he could go even faster. His brain was working overtime at super-hyper-sonic speeds, just to make this work. He saw every single bullet come for him, before he defected it. From his point of view, he was going so fast, the world around him appeared to have slowed right down. Even rain stopped in mid-air when this happened. Very disorientating at first, but now he was well used to it, and now able to see everything, he took full advantage of it. Running forwards, he moved his swords so fast at breakneck speeds that he was literately slicing the bullets right out the air. They were nothing more then a blur.

The ruthlessly high-speed reflexes needed to pull this off were staggering, as absolutely nothing got past Sonic. Sukko smirked, firing his own power shots from his bare hands, as they disposed of what they could and quickly move on. Putting his swords away, Sonic raced through Cyber Space at ultra levels of Super-Speed, but couldn't leave. Not this time. Sukko, staying put, looking around through his Magic. He tried Orbing out, but the powers was circumvented back into Cyber Space again. It seemed that neither twin were going anywhere. He growled. Alright, so they weren't getting out yet. Only on missions end, could they leave. Fine, but why? The Sorcerer still didn't know, and that only the Ancients's city safe-haven had the answers. After several hours of searching for answers, the twins, rather frustratingly, found nothing, so they stopped for a breather.

Suddenly, Sonic sighted the city, and immediately raced towards it, exceeding well above Mach One, but the closer he ran, the further away it got. The Sorcerer growled, calling after his twin, knowing it was a waste of time and energy. He desperately tried to snap his fingers, to Orb teleport, his sometimes annoying twin brother back to him, but as usual, the Blue Blur was travelling to fast to be locked onto. He heaved, growling hard, as he ran forwards.

"It's looks like I'm doing this old fashioned way." He hissed quietly to himself. He normally Orbed everywhere, nowadays, but with no idea of his twin's end location, he didn't have choice but to follow Sonic by using his own method of high speed movement.

Super-Flight.

But Sukko was seriously out of practice flying, at speed, so maybe stretching the old wings might not be a bad idea. To cast Magic, or use Chaos Sorcery took a huge amount of concentration, more so then any other Chaos Power. It was why the drain could be so devastating. That huge levels of stress took it's toll on the mind and body. Now Sukko had to use his heart, not his head. That was what was needed to fly.

He knelt on the floor, palms down, allowing for large quantities of Chaos to build up his hands and feet. Sukko didn't hold back as the bright blue luminescent vapour-like hue of Chaos Sorcery began to swirl all around him like a tornado of wind. Engaging his muscles, as his Super-Flight kicked in, he waited for the wind to reach its peak, his bright blue eyes glowing strong. He combined the two Chaos Powers and took off, into the sky, with an enormous roar, a shockwave behind him, and breaking the Sound Barrier as he went. The vapour cone appeared all around him, even in Cyber Space. The visible cloud of condensed water that forms around an object moving at high speed through moist air. The resulting Sonic Boom was far louder then anything Sonic ever did on the ground, and took Cyber Space by storm, but within seconds Sukko was gone.

Soon, he'd roared after Sonic, and soon, he'd finally found him, but the Sorcerer panted, struggling to keep up, lacking the stamina, and after an hour, he gasped down the Psychic Link, unable get within earshot of his twin, let along be heard over the noise.

{Sonikku, stop.} He breathed. {That's not how we get to the city. It's stuck in a space warp. There's no direction path.} He stammered, flying towards the ground, and landing perfectly on his feet, panting hard. Sonic nodded, finally agreeing, ran back and joined him, no closer to the illusive city. Back together again, they spoke normally, as Sonic just growled, frustrated.

"So, what do we do?" He hissed, but Sukko deeply looked at the world around him. He'd never been here before and yet, the area had a huge air of familiarity about it. They seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, in this bizarre world. He frowned, with a huge realisation.

"We're inside a computer." He hissed. Sonic stared.

"What?" He gasped, but Sukko just rounded on him.

"I think Cyber Space, is much more then just a digital dimension. It's a literal computer. Running around here, there are a lot of similarities to other computer systems I've hacked in the past, such as the Egg-net, and G.U.N.'s Mainframe." He heaved. Sonic looked around. He nodded.

"Yeah, that does make sense." He agreed, then he rounded on Sukko, having thought of something. "Hey, don't all computers run on the same components. Er, you know, innards." He wondered. But Sukko just beamed.

"Yes, they do, Sonikku. Nicely done." He praised, to a now, very bouncy Blue Blur. "Yes, every computer must have the following to work. Motherboard, C.P.U., G.P.U. storage, R.A.M., operating system, including a kernel, and input / output." He summated. But Sonic frowned.

"I think the in and out, are the red portals." He heaved, as Sukko nodded.

"Yes, and I think the C.P.U. of this world has be the Starfall Islands themselves, which does indeed hold the Portals to Cyber Space. The Ancients, who created this dimension, have left a large mark on it. I can physically feel it, having recorded their history, memories, and even desires, almost as if they had encoded their very souls here." He heaved. "My guess is that their city, is holding the kernel of the system, it's very heart, and as well as the lives, of all those who fled here." He added. But Sonic frowned.

"So if the city safe-haven is destroyed, then this entire place is dead?" He gulped. Sukko nodded, not liking the sound of it either. Suddenly, out of nowhere, then entire area shook, like an earthquake, and as a deep wave of crimson light, just swept across the landscape. It had a dark pixelated pattern, with a glowing cyan / red glitching aura. It caused both the twins, the buckles, with the intense feeling. Sukko shuddered.

"Uh, that's unpleasant." He hissed. But Sonic growled. He knew that feeling extremely well, and was not liking where this was potentially going.

"It's corruption." He hissed. "It's what happened when your exposed to, too much cyber-energy. But I thought it could only happen on those on the outside. I've been there. Stuck between realities. I was left paralysed and incapacitated, with my soul trapped in Cyber Space. But caged, in darkness, not in the Ancients's city." He stammered, sniffing hard. Sukko nodded, remembering the incident. The process completely knocked him out, out of nowhere, until the Blue Blur freed himself. The twins were that interdependent on each other. But then Sonic frowned. "But Cyber Space itself, on the inside, runs on cyber-energy, so shouldn't it be immune to it." He wondered. But Sukko growled

"Yes, if the system is perfection balanced and no one interferes. The corruption is a shield, on the outside, to attack and remove unwanted intruders. But if the system was hacked, and is thrown out of wack, then the Cyber Space's own self defence mechanism could cause it to potentially turn on itself, destroying the very system, it was designed to protect." He heaved. But Sonic growled.

"Eggman!" He hissed. Sukko growled.

"What?" He frowned, but the Blue Blur roared with anger.

"Eggman." He repeated. "He hacked the system with Sage. His so-called daughter, whose actually a very sophisticated A.I., to get at the Ancients's knowledge. She then took over the place, but I don't think that her, or consequently Eggman, fully understood it. I think they've lost that control." He hissed. Suddenly, the sky around then suddenly, turned a deep crimson red, as further waves of corruption flowed over them. Then thousands of desperate screams were heard from the Ancients precious city, as the corruption began to close it. It's dark pixelated pattern and glowing cyan / red glitching aura spread across Cyber Space, across both land and sky, like wildfires, spreading across everywhere, to further shaking and quaking. Sonic cried. "We never should have come here. We intervened. The Ancients were perfectly safe, without us." He wailed. But Sukko rounded on his twin.

"Hey, none of that. You didn't start this, Eggman did, like always. All we can do, is save what we can, like we've been asked." He hissed, but as further waves of corruption landed on them, the intense unpleasantness hit the Sorcerer hard. Suddenly, Sukko's eyes glowed a deep blue, and one of his hands just outright exploded in the fabled Blue Flames of Chaos Sorcery. Suddenly, in an explosion of pure anger, he threw the flames at the oncoming corruption, and proceed to blast hole straight through it. The corruption, squealing and recoiling, desperately moved away from the extremely powerful Magic.

Both the twins stopped and stared, as Sukko looked at his hand, the entire glove still engulfed in the flames. There was, very strangely, no pain. Sonic gulped.

"I didn't think you could bend, the blue fire, like that." He wondered. But the Sorcerer stared.

"Normally, I can't." He heaved. "I'm not immune to my own flames. I have to keep it away from my skin, otherwise they burn, badly. I think the effects of Cyber Space, is increasing the power of the my Magic, and it's effects, leaving me unharmed." He heaved. But Sonic smirked.

"Regardless, the corruption didn't like it. I think that's why the Ancients sent for you."

Suddenly, the twins looked at each other. They both knew what to do. Suddenly, Sorcerer dived for the Psychic Link, and activated the dormant Chaos Sorcery inside his twin, and with a roar of discomfort, as the Blue Blur's own eyes glowing blue, both the tips of his samurai swords, in his hands, exploded with deep blue flames, as he grabbed them from his back. Sukko then set the cast in place, allowing Sonic's own inner Magic, which he couldn't normally access, or even cast with, to fuel the flames.

Soon the twins went their separate ways, and attacked the corruption, Sonic waving the swords at ruthlessly high speeds, in every direction, pushing the disgusting sludge backwards. Sukko, on the other hand, as he flew across the sky, and literally rained down Armageddon. Highly controlled Armageddon, as the thousands of large, deep, blue fireballs, only landed on the corruption, and nowhere else. The whole of Cyber Space, twisted and turned, as the corruption withered, and recoiled away, from all the Magic, towards the very edges of Cyber Space. Regardless, Sonic just giggled.

"Wow, subtle, Sukko." He grinned to himself, but he could tell that his brother was very angry with the whole situation. He was too. Why couldn't Eggman have left well alone? The Ancients were perfectly fine, without him. Now Sonic understood why they were so standoffish with him, even borderline rude, during their first meeting. He was a intruder, and not welcome, and now they had this entire mess to fix.

Working like the well-oiled machine, the twins were, they successfully pushed back the corruption, but despite their best efforts, they couldn't get rid of it, and slowly but surely, it began to creep into Cyber Space again. After many hours, Sonic panted and hard, finally stopping, as Sukko landed next to him. He swore, also exhausted. He looked at his twin.

"Sonikku, we can't do this forever." He heaved. "We're got to put the system back to the way it was, before Eggman intervened." He breathed. "Restore the status quo, and put the corruption back on the outside, as the systems defences again. Getting to the kernel, will allow us to reset the entire system. It's the only way." He heaved. But Sonic frowned.

"But how?" He asked. "The system will have to be hacked again, and you said that could only be done, from the Ancients's safe-haven itself." He hissed. "But how do we get there. I charged at the city again, but didn't get any closer." He heaved.

But before his twin could answer, the whole of Cyber Space glitched, leading to yet more discomfort, with massive earthquakes, as the entire digital realm just twisted and warped completely on it's own. Suddenly, both the Blue Hedgehogs were surrounds with, this time, thousands of more Badniks and G.U.N. units again. Sonic roared in frustration, at constantly being attacked. They had been dodging Badnik and fighting back corruption all day, and now, unsurprisingly, Sukko just outright lost his temper. His entire body began to emit a dark purple aura, as his quills turned upwards, and his the iris's and pupils of his eyes vanished. His Magic just exploded, as the Sorcerer, with minutes, just destroyed everything in sight. Sonic just stood back and let him. He knew better to get in the way of that temper, plus he had it himself. But whereas it took a lot for Sonic to loose his temper and an extremely long time for him to calm down afterwards, the last time being at the Mushroom Kingdom. For Sukko, he could cool off as fast as he could explode. His fuse was insanely short, so it was always better just to wait it out.

Finally, they were alone again, as Sukko was left heaving hard, glaring at his twin. But Sonic smiled, as he walked forwards and leaned in, touching his forehead with his twin. He nodded.

"Shh, it's alright." He heaved, looking directly into the eyeless whites of his twin. It was off-putting, but Sonic knew his twin was still in there. Yes, he'd been there himself. Suddenly, the Sorcerer sighed and hard, leaning to the Blue Blur.

"I'm so sorry." He sniffed. "I know better then to loose it like that." He sighed, as the dark purple aura around him, had already vanished and he was calming down very quickly. His beautiful green eyes returned to normal, and soon, everything was back as it was. The Blue Blur beamed.

"Hey, it's fine. It's been a very testing day, for both of us." He heaved. Sukko nodded, as the twins broke apart, as the Sorcerer rubbed his face. He growled, as he snapped his fingers, allowing Sonic to drop the flaming swords, as his eyes stopped glowing. The Sorcerer heaved.

"The corruption is destabilising the entire system. That's why it's glitching. Both the corruption and the internal defences, with the Badniks and the G.U.N. units, are attacking us. We're not meant to be here." He summated. Suddenly, across the deep, grey sky of Cyber Space, the enormous mysterious glyph that Sonic had seen all over the Starfall Islands, appeared out of nowhere. It shone across the heaven, reflecting off Sonic's swords, as though leading the way. The Blue Blur looked at it, as he growled in frustration.

"Oh, what does it all mean?" He spat. "The Ancients are telling us the answer. They want our help." He hissed, pointing at it, as suddenly, he rounded on the Sorcerer. "Come on, Sukko. Your incredibly intelligent. If anyone can work this out, you can." He blasted, as his twin went extremely red. He gulped, very humble.

"I wouldn't go that far, Sonikku. I'm good, just not that good. The Fox is way better." He giggled, but Sonic growled, shaking his head.

"No, he's not. I've just never admitted that to him." He hissed. Sukko just stared at his twin, and suddenly, he just grabbed the Blue Blur, and hugged, extremely deeply. To have the Hero think so highly of him, meant the utter world to Sukko, as he buried his face into his shoulder, and closed his eyes. Sonic did the same, sharing a moment of pure and utter bliss.

As the minutes of intense joy passed, finally the twins broke apart, as looking around, both their jaws dropped. They hadn't moved, but Cyber Space itself had, as they were now stood outside the beautiful, highly ornate, gates of an incredibly strong and powerful, circular, walled city.

The Ancients's safe haven.

They'd made it.
