Chapter 22

The Doctor Is Sin

Venture Compound

It's been a few months since the wedding, with Sheila's personal henchmen getting everyone to help rebuild the cocoon, hell they even managed to get help from Brock of all people, though Naruto bowed out, since he needed to spend time with Triana due to not taking her to the wedding as his date, though she was understandable about it, due to it being a villain wedding with lots of villains, not to mention her father would've gone ballistic if he knew she was there.

Though the psychotic sidekicks of Sheila tried to "persuade" him in their own way, i.e. threatening him with their knives, Naruto simply pulled his axe from his back, powered it up and brought it down into the ground, sending a large wave of ice towards a mountain, practically freezing it over, using that as a demonstration for the two, where at the time he simply states, "Mine is bigger than yours." Making the Moppets back down in fear, though the female villains around were slightly turned on at the powerplay that Naruto showed off.

With Brock simply stating, "Yeah, even without his axe, Naruto would still beat you guys, since he's got a healing factor that speeds up his recovery, so while you guys tire yourselves out, he'll still stand back up and pummel you." Making the Moppets realise that Naruto may be the one person that they can't fight or stand against, simply because, like Brock, he doesn't fear them.

Anyway, after that, The Monarch and his wife, Sheila, had moved into Phantom Limb's abandoned home, due to him now being on the run from the guild for trying to take it over.

So right now, it was business as usual for the Venture family, with Brock and Naruto cleaning a few creatures from the electric fence.

Though suddenly, "Hey little shit, I've come to check on ya gear!" A voice soon calls out, making the four look towards the voice to see a strange blue little person.

With Naruto quickly recognizing him, "Brok ya horrible blue man, it's been years, look, it's great to see ya, but now's not really great time for a visit, you see we've got this general coming and..." Naruto quickly states.

But the blue dwarf quickly brushes it off, "Don't worry ya little snot, this'll only take a few moments for both of ya weapons, I'll be there and back before ya know it." He states, holding his hand out for the weapons.

Knowing what the stubborn dwarf is like, Naruto quickly passes his axe to him, followed by quickly getting his dad to do the same, with the dwarf vanishing from their sight.

"Who was that Naruto?" Dean couldn't help but ask, considering him and his brother don't usually pay attention to these sort of things.

"(Sigh!) That would be Brok, Sindri's brother, who unlike his brother, is rude, slovern and ill-mannered, as you both just witnessed when asking to check on our weapons, but he's genuinely good-natured, if anything, he's a bit of a softy-OW!" Though unfortunately, he was interrupted by the blacksmith, who was listening in at the time, who had knocked Naruto on the head with the side of his axe blade.

"Enough of that hogwash ya little shit, I ain't soft on anyone, (sniff!) anyway, here ya go, everything seems to be in order, hell, it's pretty obvious that ya both been taken good care of them weapons of yours, I just hope yous have actually been using them instead of just having them for display or some shit." Brok simply states.

With Naruto rubbing the back of his head, grumbling about stubborn blue dwarves, "I'll have you know you stubborn old goat, that we've recently used them to take out a horde of helicopters that some asshole was using in order to crash a wedding that we went to, so YEAH we did use them during that fight." Naruto answers back.

Brock just had a smile on his face at this interaction between both Naruto and Brok, it was obvious that the two knew each other, as well as it being obvious that they both cared about one another as well, but he didn't want to get in the middle of this whole thing either.

Though Brok soon looked towards Brock, after watching the man put his knife away, "Hmm, for some reason, you big fucker reminds me of someone, but it's been so long that I forgot what his name was." Yet in the dwarf's mindseye, he saw an overlaid image of a man the same size as Brock standing behind him, though slightly appearing over his shoulder, with a familiar red tattoo, though Brok just shook it off, "It's probably nothing, never mind what I said." Though Brock raises an eyebrow at this, though looks over his own shoulder, thinking someone was watching him, but no one was there, so he shrugged and moved on too.

Only for an army jeep to make its appearance, "He's here earlier than expected, lets go boys, to your stations." Brock issues his orders, while giving a quick wave to Brok in gratitude for his knife inspection.

Naruto gives his own gratitude and offers his own wave, "Thanks Brok, listen, when feel free to visit later tonight alright, since this whole thing should be over by then, me and my dad will treat you to some booze later as our thanks, though feel free to ask your brother to join us, though be sure to tell him that he doesn't have to if he doesn't want to, okay, I don't want you to force your brother into doing something he's not comfortable with, see ya!" Naruto quickly offers and states.

WIth Brok shrugging his shoulders and agreeing to join the pair, since if he was getting some free booze, he'd be more than happy to join them later, he'll also offer the same thing to Sindri, but knowing his brother, he'll politely decline, more than likely due to the germs at wherever they go to, but he'll still appreciate the offer, with that the dwarf left, since he didn't want to get involved with any military shit.

Reception Area

It wasn't long before the general made his appearance at the front desk, with Triana pretending to be the receptionist, with her father acting as a Italian buyer, along with pretty much everyone joining in on the "espionage" oftrying to get the general interested in Rusty's work, since Rusty was getting jealous of his brother's success and wanted to get some military contracts going.

Unfortunately, nothing worked for them, though Naruto did enjoy the outfit that Triana was wearing for the second part of her acting, where Naruto had managed to quietly whisper something into her ear while no one was looking, causing her to blush at the thought.

With the General leaving, though Hank tried to help out by stating that J.J. might help them out, but that only made Rusty throw his shoe at him.

But suddenly, Dr. Henry Killinger made his appearance, offering his help to get the Venture Company back up and running, though Naruto couldn't get a "beat" on the man's intention, he saw it as an "out" for the whole, scam the army, thing, so he and Triana went on a date that night.

Though when they got back the next day they had found her father, Orpheus, on the floor, with blood coming from his nose and wide eyes, as though his mind was strained, all the while, Rusty's new Venturemen were clearing out Orpheus's stuff from the place, with Triana calling the Alchemist for help with her father, with the man offering the pair to stay at his place, though while Naruto did offer Triana to stay with him, at the moment she felt that she needed to stay with her father to look after him.

With Naruto trying to figure out what was happening behind the whole eviction notice that Killinger had given to his girlfriend's father.

Though as it turned out, everyone liked Killinger, since he was helping them all with their problems, to the point that both Brock and Naruto became bored and had nothing to do, so they both went to see how Orpheus was doing, though he was ranting about Killinger, both Naruto and Brock had managed to explain the situations, with the man helping Brock with his IRS problems, along with helping Naruto set up dates for his different meetups so that they don't clash, along with the boys enjoying the man's company as well, since he was having fun with them.

All the while Triana was dying the Alchemist's hair purple for some reason, it wasn't long before Orpheus had managed to talk Brock into helping him find out what was going on, with the Alchemist joining them, where as Naruto had decided to stay with Triana to make sure nothing bad happens to her, though after the group had left, both certainly DID enjoy their time together.

Next Morning

It wasn't long before things were back to normal, after Brock had explained to the couple how Killinger had planned to turn Rusty into a supervillain, but the man had declined such a thing, where instead, he signed off on the severance pay for the mysterious person, while leaving out the whole, being naked and feeling vulnerable part out of it.

As for Killinger, "While I could've removed young Naruto's healing factor, what with it being magical based, I decided to give it a little boost instead,allowing him to heal a little bit faster, but he'll be able to age as nature has intended, that way he will not outlive his loved ones, but pass on when his time is up, after all, while he was suspicious of my intentions, he was more worried about his girlfriend's plight towards her father, so, I gave him such a gift for his love towards her." With that he vanishes completely.

After that, both Brock and Naruto kept their word to take Brok out for a drink, seeing as the dwarf couldn't reach them while Killinger was around for some reason, with both explaining who the guy was and what he tried to do with Rusty, which confused the blacksmith, since he'd no idea what the person was, which the two knew that Brok was telling the truth, so they decided to leave it be, but it wasn't long before both Brock and Brok became drinking buddies, since they enjoyed one another's brash attitude, but Brok had to leave soon after, otherwise his brother would worry about him, making Naruto joke about Brok really caring about his brother, causing the dwarf to yell, "FUCK OFF!" And vanish from their sight, which caused the father and son duo to chuckle at his expense.
