Note: With one story down, there's only ninety-nine more to go. This one will be focused on a franchise I never ever thought I would make a story for, let alone for a compilation of short stories that aren't connected to each other. I will not say what it is here, but you'll have probably figured it out by the first few paragraphs. It isn't an obsolete or forgotten franchise, either, as it's still going strong to this very day, despite some less than flattering eras. In fact, it's one of the biggest franchises in the world, despite being mainly geared towards a certain demographic. Granted, it's for the demographic that isn't too busy watching brainrot content on YouTube or substandard TV shows.
Okay, I'm probably giving you a few accidental hints. For that, I sincerely apologize. In order to keep myself from rambling, let's hurry up and get on with the story. It's time for the second story in this compilation.
Story 2: The Horned and Winged One
Exchange students are something that happens every so often. They come into the lives of many for better or for worse. Some might see these exchange students as weird due to cultural differences, but others might befriend them, regardless of the differences between cultures. No matter the reason for the exchange, these students are usually nothing to be afraid of. In fact, some might be shy because of the new people surrounding them or the trouble they have communicating with others. Regardless, anyone can talk to the new student and befriend them or leave them be if they would rather be alone.
While it is a part of life, some never expect an exchange student to be harboring a dark secret. Said dark secret could be surmised as being an explanation as to why the student and their family had to move. However, one thing a person wouldn't expect is for the new student to have access to a dark power that can lead to untold amounts of destruction and chaos. Said power being so dangerous, the source of it would need to be covered up to prevent it from becoming out of control. Whether it would be from an article of clothing or something as simple as a bandage, the student would have to wear it to control their power. If not, then the world would be in danger.
One might ask what to expect when an exchange student turns out to be more than meets the eye. Those who encounter the student would think of them as nothing more than a child. But looks can be deceiving and they might be capable of all sorts of crazy stuff. As said before, they might even have a dark power they have to keep in control of by putting something over the source of it. Why is that the situation? Well, such a thing would happen with a group of grade school students and their mysterious new friend.
And so, our story begins ...
It was a nice day in Ponyville, with the fillies and the colts heading to school. While most of them wanted to do something else instead, others liked going to school. School might have been a place of learning, though the students would socialize with each other when they weren't in class. Granted, most of the children would be waiting for lunch or recess, which would help them socialize more. They would even socialize when they got out of school, though they would have to wait until the last bell rang. Regardless, every filly and colt, barring the ones who were toddlers, entered school in hopes of getting their fill of education for the day.
One filly was walking down the hallway, intent on getting to class before the first bell. She was an Earth pony with a pink body, a yellow mane and a yellow tail. Her name was Starlight and she was one of the older members of her group of friends. Due to being one of the eldest in her friend group, she hoped to be a teacher one day. While she would no doubt deal with some unruly students one day, Starlight didn't let that thought keep her down. As long as she had the support of those around her, she hoped to accomplish her goal.
As she walked down the hallway, Starlight noticed six more Earth pony fillies standing nearby. These girls were her friends Sweetheart, Melody, Bright Eyes, Patch, Clover and Bon Bon. They looked as follows: Sweetheart was white with a pink mane and tail, Melody was pink with a blue mane and tail, Bright Eyes was cyan with an orange mane and tail, Patch was tan with a dark pink mane and tail, Clover was purple with a pink mane and tail and Bon Bon was yellow with a purple mane and tail. Once they noticed Starlight, the six immediately greeted her.
"Hi Starlight!" Patch spoke.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Starlight asked.
"Nothing much." Bon Bon said. "We're just waiting for class to start."
"I can't wait for class today!" Sweetheart said. "Did you hear? We're getting a new classmate!"
"Really?" Starlight asked. "Who are they?"
"No one knows yet." Bright Eyes spoke. "This new student hasn't been seen in the hallway yet."
"What do you think this new student is like?" Clover asked.
"Maybe we'll find out in class." Melody said.
"Hopefully so." Starlight said.
Suddenly, the bell for first period rang, causing the Core 7 to rush into home room. Once they got there, they noticed that Miss Hackney wasn't in the room yet. However, they were greeted by their classmates, including three familiar faces: a colt who was gold with a blonde mane and tail, a colt who was dark blue with a crimson mane and tail and a colt who was light blue with an orange mane styled in a mohawk and an orange tail. These boys were known as Ace, Lancer and Teddy. The three colts were sitting down, in as much anticipation over the new student as the rest of the class. Lancer in particular hoped to show them around the school, though the other two were hoping that she was willing to play with them.
"Did you hear about the new student we're getting?" Lancer asked.
"We've heard the rumor," Melody said, "but no one knows who they are or what they look like."
"I bet they're something cool like a rockstar or wrestler." Teddy said.
"Well, whoever they are, I hope that they're good at soccer." Ace spoke. "Pretty much everyone on the team is still recovering from the incident at the last game."
"Maybe if you didn't throw a soccer ball at the opposing goalie, they wouldn't have gotten that butt-kicking from him!" Patch said, having a stern expression on her face.
"Oh shut up!" The golden colt said, blushing in embarrassment.
Suddenly, the door to the classroom came open, causing everyone to turn their attention towards the chalkboard. By then, a spectacled, periwinkle pony with a lavender mane and tail entered. This was Miss Hackney and she had a smile on her face. Clearly, she was every bit as excited about the new student as everyone else was, though whether or not she had seen the new student was unknown. She had to, considering how she was a teacher and new students had to speak to the staff before enrolling in the school. Regardless, the class waited for Miss Hackney to introduce the new student.
"Good morning, class." Miss Hackney spoke. "Before we begin, I want you to meet a new student who will be joining our class from this point onward."
"Who are they, Miss Hackney?" Starlight asked.
"And where are they?" Bon Bon asked.
"Oh, she should be here in a second!" Miss Hackney said.
The moment Miss Hackney said that, the door came open. Soon after, a filly walked into the room, having a smile on her face. She was purple with a dark blue mane and tail that had purple and raspberry streaks in them. While the new student looked happy to see everyone, they didn't know what to think of her. Not only was a pony with a multicolored mane rather rare around Ponyville, but the class didn't know what they were supposed to say. They didn't want to say anything that would offend the filly, but that was mainly because none of the students knew where she was from.
"Perhaps, I should tell you about the little dear?" Miss Hackney spoke. "Everyone, this is Twilight Sparkle. She's an exchange student from Canterlot and her family moved into Ponyville a few days ago."
"Wow! Canterlot?" Patch spoke. "That's a pretty great place to travel from what I've heard!"
"And the people there are so nice!" Sweetheart said.
"I bet you have some fun stories from your time in Canterlot, Twilight!" Melody spoke.
"Can you tell us about them?" Bon Bon asked.
"I'd love to, but I don't want to waste the teacher's time." Twilight spoke. "Miss Hackney, I apologize for interrupting your lesson with my arrival. Please continue!"
"Very well, I'll start us off with some math." Miss Hackney said. "Oh and Twilight, there's no need to apologize. I just wanted to introduce you to your new classmates."
With the new student introduced, first period officially began. As Miss Hackney wrote down math problems, the students answered each one after raising a hoof. Throughout the period, the class did problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, though some involved parentheses. While everyone in class got to answer a problem, Twilight had answered more than one, managing to answer six. A few students were flustered, but Miss Hackney wanted them to quiet down, seeing as her new student wanted to participate in mathematics. Everyone deserved a chance to do some problems and Twilight was no exception, even if she answered more than anyone else.
Once first period came to an end, one thing the class noticed about Twilight was that she had a bandage on her forehead. Not only that, but there were also bandages on her sides. While anyone could say that the filly had some injuries, something about the bandages felt off. It didn't help that she acted rather strangely. She was intelligent, but seemed to be rather imaginative, even for a child. Whenever Twilight wasn't giving her answer to a problem, she mentioned something rooted in fantasy, such as dragons or pixies. One such thing she mentioned was her belief that corn could repel evil spirits and keep you safe.
Throughout the day, Twilight was met with teasing by Teddy and Ace. While the Core 7 were usually bothered by it, they were especially irritated considering how the two colts were going out of their way to give the new student a hard time. However, Twilight didn't seem bothered by what they were saying. In fact, she seemed eager to be their friend. Upon seeing that, the Core 7, especially Starlight and Patch, were a tad frustrated. Did their new classmate seem to be unaware of ridicule or did she just ignore it?
When it was lunch time, the Core 7 sat at a table, deciding to speak to each other. As they sat, Sweetheart noticed Twilight walking through the cafeteria with her lunch. She immediately waved for the new classmate to come sit with her and her friends. Twilight smiled, then made a beeline for the table. The filly was fast on her hooves, running almost like a gazelle. While the Core 7 were surprised by her speed, they were hoping that she would be careful, as she could bump into someone.
Before Twilight could even approach the table, someone walked towards her. This was a filly who was reddish purple with a light green mane and tail, though she was older than the Core 7 and her classmates. Looking down at the new student, she let out a dismissive snort. She usually did such a thing as a way of intimidating those around her. The Core 7 knew that she liked to do this, so they were hoping that Twilight would get the message and sit down. Unfortunately, she did not, only standing and staring at the older filly.
"Well, well, aren't you the new student?" The dark purple filly asked.
"Yes, my name is Twilight Sparkle." Twilight greeted. "What's your name?"
"That's Sour Grape!" Sweetheart spoke. "She's one of the biggest bullies in school!"
"Might want to sit down, Twilight." Patch said. "She's bad news."
"Sour Grape, would you like to have lunch with us?" Twilight said, ignoring the others. "They're having Salisbury steak today. I love Salisbury steak! How about you?"
"Of course I like it." Sour Grape said. "But you know what I like better than Salisbury steak? I like throwing small kids into water!"
Suddenly, Sour Grape grabbed Twilight and walked out of the cafeteria with her. Knowing that this couldn't lead to anything good, the Core 7 immediately followed them. Ace, Teddy and Lancer followed them as well, albeit because they wanted to see how Twilight would react. They all walked to the outside gym in time to see Sour Grape throw her into the pool. Once that was out of the way, the dark purple mare chuckled, which angered the Core 7. Not only did she target the new kid upon meeting her, but she went so far as to throw her into the pool.
"That was uncalled for, Sour Grape!" Sweetheart scolded.
"Yeah, that was mean even for you!" Bright Eyes said.
"Oh ease up, I'm just having fun!" Sour Grape spoke. "Besides, it's your faults for inviting you over to your table!"
"And what would you have done if Twilight didn't come over to our table?" Starlight asked.
"Whatever I wanted, like always." The dark purple marr said. "Besides, she's the new meat and I can do whatever I want with the new meat. Face it, there's not a thing any of you can do to keep me from doing so."
Sour Grape then walked off, leaving the Core 7, Ace, Teddy and Lancer by the pool. Right as she left, Twilight popped up from the waters of the pool, not looking bothered by her predicament. In fact, she was swimming around as if she were having a pleasant time at the beach. The filly swam until she noticed the Core 7 and their colt friends staring at her.
"Hello everyone!" Twilight spoke. "Come on in, the water's fine!"
"Twilight, what is up with you?" Patch asked. "Don't you know how to deal with a bully? Are you incapable of standing up for yourself?"
"Sour Grape is the meanest girl in school." Clover spoke. "Trying to talk to her is a hard thing to do and trying to befriend her is even harder. You honestly couldn't have expected her to get along with you, right?"
"It's like you have no backbone." Bon Bon said. "If you don't stand up for yourself, you won't get anywhere in life!"
Twilight only smiled, then began to swim in a circle, as if she were trying to create a whirlpool. While it annoyed the Core 7 that their message wasn't getting anywhere, Ace, Teddy and Lancer had a good laugh. Even if Twilight was a bit eccentric, that didn't mean she couldn't make people laugh. If anything, her behavior made her a comedy character.
"Oh Twilight, get out of there!" Sweetheart said, rolling her eyes.
"Come on, at least she's enjoying the water!" Teddy said.
"At least she can join the synchronized swimming team if she doesn't join the soccer team." Ace spoke.
"She IS pretty good at swimming." Lancer said.
"Why don't you guys head back to lunch?" Melody spoke. "We'll deal with Twilight."
Nodding their heads as a sign that they got the message, Ace, Teddy and Lancer went back in the school, making their way to the cafeteria. With them gone, the Core 7 looked down at Twilight, who was still in the pool. Surprisingly, the bandages on her body had not loosened up or fallen off during the time since she was thrown in there. Whatever they were made of, it had to be a waterproof substance.
"You're troublesome, aren't you?" Starlight asked, looking at Twilight.
"I've got an idea once we get out of school." Sweetheart spoke. "I don't like it, but I think it might help."
After school, the Core 7 took Twilight to the museum, despite her protests. Once they entered, they went to the prehistoric exhibits, hoping that their new classmate would be inspired by the history that was all around her. Patch in particular wanted to see the dinosaur exhibits, as she found them inspirational every time she saw them. The others wanted Twilight to take a look at every exhibit they passed, so that she would be inspired to stand up for herself against bullies. Even if that didn't work, Starlight hoped to teach the new kid some tips about bravery. That was assuming Twilight's family would let her.
While the Core 7 was walking through the museum, Twilight couldn't help but feel scared. She had been in a museum before when she lived in Canterlot, but it didn't have bones or fossils. Being surrounded by the remains of something that was once alive frightened the filly. It didn't help that the dinosaur bones towered over her and her new classmates. The Core 7 were seemingly ignoring her, looking at every exhibit that was near them. As they passed through each one, Twilight became more and more scared.
"Can we leave?" Twilight spoke. "I don't like this place!"
"No, not until you feel inspired." Starlight said. "You need to learn how to stand up for yourself, Twilight."
"In other words, try to think like a dinosaur." Bright Eyes said.
"I'm a big scary monster who eats meat." Twilight said, closing her eyes and moving like a Tyrannosaurus Rex. "Not only that, but I like to roar! ROAR!"
"This isn't going to work." Bon Bon groaned.
"Might as well convince her to try out for the fall play." Melody said.
Continuing to walk through the museum, Patch was marveling at the dinosaur bones and exhibits around her. She had been to the museum multiple times, but each visit made the place better in her eyes. As the filly walked out of the dinosaur section, her eye caught a glimpse of something peculiar. It was something she had never seen before, presumably a new exhibit. If it wasn't a new exhibit, then the Earth pony didn't pay attention enough to notice it. Regardless, it was something interesting and she wanted the others to immediately see it.
"Guys, come quick!" Patch called.
The rest of the group immediately dashed towards their friend, having brought Twilight with them. Once they were near Patch, they saw what she was seeing: a statue. It was a statue of a mare holding a golden staff with runes on it. While that was certainly strange, that was nothing compared to what the Core 7 saw next. The statue depicted the mare having a horn on her forehead and wings on her sides. Whoever this was supposed to be, she was not from Ponyville and something told the Core 7 that she wasn't from anywhere in the world.
Next to a statue was a description, which Bright Eyes was quick to read:
This statue depicts a creature known only as an Alicorn. These beings lived in a society that was far more advanced than the ones we have in the Modern Era. In addition, they were said to have extraordinary, almost godlike power that they used to rule their society. As mighty as they were, Alicorns are said to be extinct nowadays, with the reason for their extinction being unknown.
"That's scary!" Sweetheart said.
"But interesting at the same time." Starlight said.
"Can we go now?" Twilight spoke. "Please!"
"Oh, Twilight, what's the rush?" Clover asked. "The museum's not closing, is it?"
"Actually, the museum will be closing in five minutes." The Curator, a brown stallion with a strawberry blonde mane and tail, said. "Might want to leave while the doors are still open."
Knowing that they couldn't stay for long, the Core 7 left the museum with Twilight. As they didn't know where their new classmate lived, it was up to her to guide them to her house. She told them that it wasn't far from the museum, being a block away. With that in mind, the Core 7 found the purple filly's house in no time. Even though they had stuff to do, the group was hoping to speak with Twilight's family. Hopefully, they were nice and willing to have a conversation with their daughter's classmates.
"You are in BIG trouble, young lady!" A voice scolded.
That voice belonged to Twilight's father Night Light, a blue stallion with a darker blue mane and tail. He was sitting on the couch with his wife Twilight Velvet, who was a gray mare with a white and purple mane. In the recliner next to the couch was their firstborn and Twilight's older brother Shining Armor. He was a white stallion with a blue mane and tail. The three were upset with the youngest member of the family for heading to the museum, not knowing the whole story. As for the Core 7, they were sitting with Twilight, hoping to explain what had happened.
"Twily, you went to the museum without telling us?!" Shining Armor spoke. "You know that you're supposed to come home immediately after school!"
"Sorry." Twilight said.
"It was our faults." Starlight spoke. "We just wanted Twilight to stand up for herself against bullies, so we took her to the museum to get some inspiration."
"We even saw a statue of something known as an Alicorn." Bon Bon said. "It wasn't just a statue, though. It was holding something in its hooves!"
Suddenly, Twilight's family looked at each other. They seemed to be shocked, if not outright concerned. It appeared as thought, Night Light, Velvet and Shining were hiding something, though the Core 7 didn't immediately ask them what it was. Even if it would answer some questions they had, the fillies didn't ask them about the statue. However, Patch was quick to break the silence.
"What's the deal with the bandages on Twilight?" She asked. "Was she badly injured back in Canterlot? Did she go through some kind of surgery?"
"Twilight, sweetie, we don't want you going back to that museum, okay?" Velvet spoke, ignoring Patch's questions.
"Okay, mama, I won't go back there." Twilight said.
"Good." Night Light said. "Now that that's out of the way, we're going to work on dinner. We're making your favorite, Twilight: Spaghetti!"
"Hopefully, you're hungry after today, sis!" Shining said, following his parents into the kitchen.
"I am hungry!" Twilight said cheerfully. "Don't eat it all before I get in there!"
With Twilight's parents and older brother in the kitchen, the Core 7 decided to speak with her. Their curiosity about her bandages had been plaguing them all throughout the time they had known her. Given how her family acted distant, it was clear that they didn't want to discuss the subject. It only made it more intriguing for the group.
"You know, seeing that statue at the museum is making me even more curious." Bright Eyes spoke. "Why do you wear all those bandages, Twilight? Why don't you take them off?"
"I can't take them off!" Twilight said. "I'm not allowed to! My parents and Shining Armor told me that if I take them off, I won't be allowed to leave the house!"
"Oh, Twilight, I'm sure that it's nothing too bad." Clover said. "We'll only take a peek, then put the bandages back on, okay?"
"You can trust us." Sweetheart spoke. "We're your friends."
She kissed Twilight on the cheek, causing the purple filly to blush. As soon as that happened, Patch went to remove the forehead bandage while Melody and Bright Eyes removed the side bandages. In response, Twilight's eyes widened and the lights in the house went out. The Core 7 jumped back in surprise, all while their new classmate turned away from them. While it was initially frightening, they also became concerned about Twilight. With her sudden collapse, they thought that she had suddenly died.
All of a sudden, Twilight turned her head towards the Core 7, having a tired expression on her face. What they saw had shocked them to the core: their new classmate had a horn and a pair of wings! Not only that, but her body changed, as if removing the bandages aged her from a filly to a mare. Her face shifted as well, going from a tired expression to a confident smirk, if not a malicious one. The Core 7 could not believe what they were seeing. It was clear that Twilight Sparkle, their new classmate wasn't an Earth pony, but something else entirely: an Alicorn.
"Twilight, your body!" Sweetheart gasped. "Your face! You've changed!"
"Thank you, everyone." Twilight spoke, her voice being somewhat deeper. "Thank you SO much."
With her wings unwrapped, Twilight immediately flew towards the windows, managing to shatter it with ease. She then used her horn to clean up the broken glass. The Core 7 watched with utter disbelief, knowing that the new kid had abilities that have been deemed fictional for the longest time. Whether or not she would use them for good was something they wanted the answer to right away. However, Twilight immediately flew away from the house, going to an unkown destination. All the while, she had that confident look on her face, looking ready to take on the world.
Suddenly, Shining Armor burst into the room.
"What's going on?" He asked. "What happened?!"
"It's Twilight!" Starlight cried. "All we did was take a look under her bandages and she changed!"
Looking at the broken window, Shining knew what had happened: Twilight had transformed again. He went to tell his parents that he was going out for a walk, explaining what was going on. They told their son to look for his sister as quickly as he could before she caused a massive amount of damage. Before leaving, the stallion gathered the Core 7 and left to look for Twilight. He had them hold on to the bandages, saying that they will need them once they found the purple mare. The group didn't argue this, as they immediately left the house with Shining, intent on stopping their new classmate from doing anything terrible.
From outside of Ponyville, Twilight stood proud, looking over the village. With her horn and wings uncovered, the purple mare could feel her power grow. It was intoxicating, as if she was having the same feeling one would have if they were using an addictive substance. However, unlike those who used such substances, the equine could control her magic. Now that she had access to it again, Twilight was ready to unleash it upon the world. But first, she had to do something to prepare for an event like this.
That statue at the museum speaks a lie! Twilight thought to herself. Many who have seen it have thought Alicorns to be extinct, lost to time itself. But that is far from the truth. I am a descendant of such a mighty race and my name is Twilight Sparkle!
Closing her eyes, Twilight began to focus her magic. If she were to unleash it upon the world, she needed a mighty weapon. The purple mare knew where such a weapon was: it was at the museum along with the other relics of time. All she needed to do was recite an incantation and it would obey.
"Sasard Ronsuke Derris Undertow Hansen Kiske Zippo Equestrian Mizuke Mizuke!" Twilight spoke, feeling the power course through her very being. "Arise, Gold Star!"
The moment the incantation was said, the spear that was being held by the Alicorn statue at the museum began to glow and shake. It then flew out of the museum, crashing through the window in the process. After that, it flew through Ponyville, looking for whoever had performed the incantation. Twilight stood firm, waiting for the artifact to find her. Once it did, she took a step forward, knowing that it was the weapon she needed. The spear only floated, looking like a firefly in the dark.
"Now, Gold Star, I am your master!" Twilight spoke. "I am Twilight Sparkle, an Alicorn! With the incantation said, I command you to obey!"
Instead of obeying Twilight, Gold Star turned towards Ponyville. Then it flew towards the village, its power shining in the night sky. Having been dormant for an untold period of time, the artifact began to unleash destruction all around it. Not only were houses being targeted, but every pony who was in its way was in danger. Twilight, rather than being angered over Gold Star's disobedience, was impressed by the destruction it was causing.
"Oh, so you want to play?" Twilight spoke. "In that case, I'll let you play. But when you're done, you must obey me, for I will be your new master!"
Using her wings, Twilight flew closer to Gold Star. She grabbed onto it, though she couldn't stop it from acting on its own. The purple mare found herself flying over Ponyville, then flew all the way to the city. From there, Gold Star began to cause more chaos, destroying buildings and vehicles with its power. People ran in fright, not knowing what was causing all this destruction, though some could see something floating in the sky. Whatever it was, the ponies living in the city knew that the police needed to do something about it.
The police were called, but there wasn't much they could do about the situation. Not only were they shocked by the massive amount of destruction and chaos, but they couldn't see who or what was responsible for it. However, they soon found themselves being lifted into the air by an unseen force. Said force caused their cruisers to crash into each other, then dropped them to the ground. Luckily, no one was hurt, though the cruisers would no longer work after this. As there was nothing the police could do, it seemed that there was no end to all of this chaos.
Floating above the city with Gold Star, Twilight saw all of the destruction that the artifact had caused. Happy to be using her powers again, the purple mare laughed, knowing that no one could stop her. Even if her family tried to put those bandages back on her, she could blow them away before they could get in her proximity. If it was the last thing she did, the Alicorns would make a return to the world.
Meanwhile, the Core 7 were running down the street with Shining Armor (who brought a police radio with him), doing their hardest to look for Twilight. It wasn't going to be easy, considering how she had wings, but they wanted to find her as quickly as possible. While they were looking, Sweetheart asked Shining about Twilight and why she had to have those bandages put on her. The white stallion knew that he couldn't hide anything about his sister at this point, so he immediately spoke to her and the others.
"To put it bluntly, Twilight was born with a horn, but the wings appeared as she got older." He said. "For years, we thought that Alicorns were extinct, but that was what we wanted to believe. We never thought that one could be born in the Modern Era, nor did I expect my own sister to be one."
"How is it possible?" Patch asked.
"I am not sure how it happened, either." Shining said. "But one thing I do know is that Alicorns were said to be a very powerful species, to the point where no one could stand up to them. The problem with that power was that it was dangerous and could corrupt easily. It got to the point where the Alicorns were said to have destroyed each other with their ambitions and lust. With Twily's horn and wings in mind, our parents had to cover them so that she didn't try to conquer the world. If they're removed, she ages to a mare and becomes more intelligent, but also more dangerous."
"This almost sounds like an underrated story by a respected manga artist." Bright Eyes said.
Suddenly, the radio buzzed, meaning that a broadcast was being shared.
"Emergency in the city!" A voice spoke. "Next to Ponyville, a nearby city has been under attack from an unseen force! Citizens are advised to get to safety as quickly as possible, lest they get caught up in the chaos."
Upon hearing that, Shining and the Core 7 knew that they had to hurry. Twilight was undoubtedly the one responsible for the destruction, but what could she have done? No one in this day and age had seen the power of an Alicorn, so it frightened them as to what the purple mare was doing. Despite their terror, the fillies and the stallion were intent on stopping the Alicorn before she turned her attention to the rest of the world.
After flying around and causing chaos with Gold Star, Twilight landed on the ground, still holding the spear in her hands.
"It seems like you've calmed down." She spoke to it. "Well, since you've had your fun, do you accept me as your master?"
Suddenly, the sound of hooves running on pavement was heard. Turning her head, Twilight saw that not only had Shining Armor arrived, but so did the Core 7. It was clear that they had seen all the destruction she had caused, but how they found her so quickly didn't matter. With them near her, the Alicorn wanted to see what they were going to do.
"Twilight!" Shining spoke.
"Hello, dear brother, what are you doing here?" Twilight asked.
"That's the spear from the museum!" Melody cried.
"Twily, what are you doing with that thing?" Shining said. "Let it go!"
"No, I will not!" Twilight said. "It chose me as its master! I can use it for good or I can use it to do whatever I want!"
"Please put it down, sis." The white stallion said, taking out the bandages. "I've got the bandages with me, so I can put then on you and we can forget all about this!"
"Stay back, I won't be responsible for what happens next!" The purple mare said.
Ignoring his sister's warning, Shining moved closer. This caused Twilight to throw her older brother back with the magic of her horn. Not only were the Core 7 shocked when they saw their new classmate do this, but they were also angered at her ruthlessness. With Shining down, they needed to grab the bandages and slap them back on the Alicorn. Even if they died for it, the fillies wanted to stop her from destroying everything around her and endangering more lives. Doing so would be hard, considering how much power Twilight had possessed with the bandages removed.
A whistling noise sounded in the sky, followed by a powerful explosion. Looking to the side, Twilight saw that there were fireworks going off. This seemed to distract the Alicorn, to the point where she couldn't take her eyes off of them. While she looked at the fireworks, the Core 7 picked up the bandages and got ready to rush towards their new classmates.
"These explosions must be celebrating the return of the Alicorns!" Twilight spoke. "At least SOMEONE knows what they're capable of! I doubt that they'll miss out on the fun, though!"
Twilight had a cheap laugh over what she said, failing to notice the Core 7 coming towards her. Sweetheart immediately slapped the bandage that went over the purple mare's horn back on. Starlight, Melody and Patch held the Alicorn still so that Bright Eyes, Clover and Bon Bon could apply the bandages to her sides, which would cover her wings. With all the bandages back on her, Twilight fell to the ground, dropping Gold Star in the process. The artifact glowed, then faded away, presumably going back to the museum. From there, it seemed like everything would be alright.
"Man, they're gonna have a hard time cleaning up all of this!" Bon Bon said, looking at the destruction around her.
"I'm sure they can take care of it." Patch said.
"Take care of what?" A familiar voice spoke.
Looking down at their hooves, the Core 7 could see that Twilight had woken up. She was acting like how she was before they removed her bandages. With that in mind, they were relieved that her darker behavior had been stopped. Not only that, but the purple filly appeared to have no memory of what she had done with Gold Star. Once she was up again, she approached the Core 7 with a friendly smile on her face. They were tense, but they didn't know what to say.
"Look!" Twilight spoke, looking at the sky. "Somebody's setting off fireworks!"
"We can see that, Twilight." Sweetheart said.
"They're pretty!" The purple filly said.
"They definitely are." Bon Bon spoke.
Shining Armor rose to his hooves, having overheard the Core 7 and Twilight. With that in mind, he wanted to assume that they had managed to stop his sister. But how were they able to do it? How did they get close to an Alicorn without being killed by her magic?
"What's going on?" Shining asked.
"Oh, we're just enjoying the fireworks." Starlight said.
"Would you like to watch them, BBBFF?" Twilight asked.
"I'd like to watch them, but we should really get home." Shining said. "Dinner's probably ready."
Knowing that they had been gone from Twilight's house for quite a while, the Core 7 began to walk back to there with Twilight and Shining. While the chaos had been ended for now, they still had a bunch of questions. One of those was if there were other Alicorns hiding in the world and if they were dangerous like how Twilight became with her bandages removed. If not, then what were they like? Were they good or evil? Given how they held a massive amount of power, did it matter on whether they were good or evil?
As they walked back to the Sparkle residence, the Core 7 promised each other that they would keep a closer eye on Twilight. Their main priority was making sure those bandages stayed on the purple filly, considering how she changed when they were removed. If they came off when the group wasn't around, then the new kid could go on another rampage like how she did that night. None of them, particularly Starlight and Sweetheart, wanted that to happen. Granted, Ace, Teddy and Lancer would probably get a kick out of Twilight's true self, though she would probably destroy them the first chance she got. Regardless of what they encountered, the Core 7 agreed that they would keep their new classmate out of trouble, especially when her bandages came off.
Note: Never thought that I would do a My Little Pony story, but here we are. And not only did I do a story for the franchise, but I did a crossover between the second TV series for the first generation, Tales, and the widely well-received and beloved show Friendship is Magic. It's odd that I picked one of the older entries in the franchise, but that's because Tales was the only show to have nothing magical in it (barring a few moments). With the story done, I can happily say that I'm not sure if I'll turn this into an actual story. It was, more or less, an idea that was nagging at my mind. Besides, if I ever get the urge to do a multi-chapter story for MLP, it will be something weird.
Before I officially close this, I must explain that this story is also a parody of Mitsume Ga Tooru (The Three-Eyed One) by Osamu Tezuka, which follows a boy named Sharaku Housuke with a bandage on his forehead. When the bandage is removed, Housuke's third eye is revealed, revealing a much darker version of himself. It was one of the inspirations Kazuki Takahashi had for the original Yu-Gi-Oh! (primarily the first seven volumes). A major difference is that Housuke, with his bandage removed, is far more malicious than Dark Yugi could ever hope to be. It might seem weird that I chose My Little Pony as the franchise to parody it with, along with choosing Twilight to be in Housuke's shoes, but it was a fun idea. Mitsume Ga Tooru is also rather obscure in the English speaking markets, but the anime is online.
Until next time, this is ElectricWizard99, signing off. Peace!
