In Class 2-M's dormitory...
Midoriya and his classmates all were pretty stirred up about what was happening. They were all invited over to Chloe and Adrien's dormitory for the night to have dinner with them. They felt like they could finally relax for a while, but Adrien was still bothered by this whole thing. He wanted to call Marinette again, but knew that she was busy with Ember. Whatever was going on, he knew that she could handle it. Besides, she had all of her teammates around to help her.
She didn't need him at the moment.
Something about that bothered Adrien as he put his phone away. He spotted Skylar and wondered if she heard them talking about Marinette, their classmates, the portal or anything else for that matter. Mr. Aizawa pulled her aside so she wouldn't know anything about it. They explained things to him before coming here. He seemed a little surprised to say the least. Something about it though made him seem more strict about them leaving U.A. Campus. He told them that him and AllMight would figure things out for now.
He didn't like where this was going, but he knew that Mr. Aizawa would be a great teacher to handle this. He noticed Skylar looking a little interested in what they were talking about, but never asked them any questions. He found that odd that she never once asked them anything. She didn't seem like someone that would let this slide. Still, she stayed quiet as everyone settled down.
Even Midoriya found that odd to him. He noticed her talking to them, but didn't once ask them about their conversation back in the classroom. Even when they went to do some hero training, she was pretty quiet as she practiced with her quirk. Midoriya noticed her using her quirk earlier. Something about it seemed familiar when she slammed her fists into the cement slabs. She could break one in one punch without breaking a sweat, which he kind of scared a little. Something about her seemed to be holding back at times, but he didn't know why.
It was hero training after all. Then again, he understood that feeling of holding back quirk. Sometimes he felt like he had to hold back with One for All. He wondered if he would ever get the chance to hero train with her. If he did that, maybe he'd have a better understanding of her quirk. Maybe it would even help him recognize her somehow.
They settled down, and Chloe and Bakugo were surprisingly making dinner and seemed to be enjoying it. Everyone was blown away that they were even doing this together. Even Adrien were a little thrown off by this sight, even when Bakugo had a bit of a smile on his face. Something about it seemed a little weird, and everyone couldn't look away.
"This is weird. Bakugo and Chloe are making dinner for us," Kaminari said to them.
"Yeah. When do they ever do that?" Ashido pointed out.
"Hey, at least he's not yelling at anyone," Iida pointed out, "It's way better than insulting at everyone's cooking skills."
"You've got that right," Adrien agreed with him, "Still, has he always been good at cooking? I never knew that about him this whole time."
"Yeah. He's cooks a lot. Just not when everyone's around," Midoriya said to them, "He's always been pretty good at it."
Midoriya looked at his childhood friend, happy to see him finally enjoying some time with his girlfriend. Something about felt so refreshing after all this time. He couldn't help but smile at how happy he looked. Bakugo looked like he was genuinely enjoying himself and wasn't even insulting or yelling at anyone. It was so relaxing just watching him cook with Chloe like this. She even was patient with him, which made everyone feel much better having her around more often.
"Aww! Chloe and Katsuki are so cute together!" Skylar exclaimed, "I didn't know that they were this close! Why didn't anyone say anything to me?"
"Sorry. You are new to this school. We just forgot to mention it to you, that's all," Yaoyorozu explained to her.
"By the way Skylar, that was some pretty impressive hero training today," Uraraka told her, "You looked like you've been doing pretty good considering this is your first time doing stuff like this."
Skylar's eyes lit up with excitement to talk about her hero training, which caught Midoriya's attention.
"Yeah! It was pretty fun finally getting to try out my quirk so freely," Skylar said to them as she punched the air, "I've never done something like that before. It was so fun!"
Midoriya noticed what she said, and it seemed like she never got to do this for some reason. It made it seem like she wasn't allowed to use her quirk before U.A. That really seemed to be something that made her really happy.
"Skylar. What do you mean exactly? Have you never used your quirk before?" Midoriya asked her.
Skylar stopped in her tracks like she didn't even realize what she had just told them. He noticed her eyes looking a little glossy as she thought about it. Something about it made Midoriya feel bad for her without even saying anything. The look in her eyes reminded her of Adrien for some reason.
"No... Actually, I'm not even allowed to use it back home," Skylar told them, "My dad... he only allows me to use it whenever he allowed it. So when he recommended me to go here, I was surprised. I didn't expect him to let me come here of all places. It's so relieving to finally get away from him for a bit. He wasn't exactly someone that would let me do whatever I want if you know what I mean."
Midoriya and almost everyone else stared at Adrien who was shocked to hear this. No one expected her to relate to someone like Adrien. Something about her just seemed like someone that had whatever she wanted. The way she walked around and smiled just seemed so different who she was living with. He didn't know or expect her to say anything like that and kind of felt bad for her.
"I-I... I had no idea that you went through that," Adrien said to her, "I went through the same thing with my father as well. We didn't have the greatest relationship to say the least. He always gave me so much strict schedules and told me what to do all the time. He even didn't allow me to see certain friends. It wasn't until I met these guys that he started to let me do all of these things. He even let me stay here because he somewhat understood what I wanted."
Something about Adrien confession got Skylar to brighten up as she was only mere inches away from his face. He stumbled and almost fell on the floor, but she grabbed onto his hand without even thinking about it.
"Really? That's so cool that we're the same!" Skylar exclaimed to him, "I hope that you and I can be friends!"
"U-Umm... s-sure Skylar..." Adrien said, feeling a little uncomfortable, "I-I j-just... I-I do have girlfriend. Remember?"
Skylar looked down at her hand, realizing that she was holding his. She backed away, but wasn't blushing all that much.
"Oh! Right. Sorry about that," Skylar said as she let go of him, "I just... I never get to meet anyone like me or any friends for that matter. Coming to this school... It's different... You know?"
Midoriya noticed Adrien smile at her and realized that he could understand her.
"Yeah. I do understand," Adrien said back, "When I first became Cat Noir, I felt like I could finally get away from it all. By putting on this mask, I could finally be someone else. Something about it just felt so relieving to be out there and not let anyone stop me from doing the things that I want to do. I didn't have to be some fashion model for my father, you know what I mean?"
Everyone was surprised to learn this from him. Even Midoriya had no idea that he even felt that way about being Cat Noir. Something about it seemed so genuine as his eyes brightened up from expressing himself. Skylar looked at him like she didn't quite understand what he was talking about.
"Not really, but hey! It's so cool that you got to do that back in Paris," Skylar said to him, "I mean, that's pretty rebellious. I'm sure a lot of girls were big fans of you in Paris."
Something about that comment made Adrien's face brighten up a little as he scratched the back of his head. Some of the girls gave him knowing looks, but Jirou felt her face heat up as well. Kaminari gave Adrien a dirty look which just things more awkward.
"M-Maybe a little..." Adrien said back, "Being Cat Noir did have its perks back in Paris."
Midoriya couldn't help but chuckle a little, remembering what it was like in Paris. He was definitely a lot more humorous when it came to dealing with HawkMoth and even Chrysalis, that's for sure. He didn't expect Skylar and Adrien to have similar things going on with their parents. He looked back at Skylar and noticed her bracelet glinting in the light. He remembered that blue crystal glowing once she used her quirk back during hero training. It looked like it activated when she used her quirk and wondered what it did. Something about made him wonder if it held her quirk back at all. He noticed that she was definitely hold back.
Before he could say anything to her, Bakugo and Chloe got dinner ready. Everyone got to their seats, and AllMight soon came by. He noticed how good dinner smelled, which made his stomach growl. They had made a french dish that Chloe knew about from her hotel, so it was a little different from what they usually eat.
"Mr. Yagi! You should grab some," Chloe said to him, "There's plenty to go around."
AllMight couldn't help himself and grabbed some before it was all gone. Midoriya smiled, happy to see AllMight joining them for dinner. They all tried it, happy to have something that Chloe and Bakugo enjoyed making together. Midoriya's eyes lit up, surprised at how good it was. It wasn't even spicy, a little, but not in a way that made it overpowering. He couldn't stop eating it and found himself wanting more.
"Wow, Bakugo! You and Chloe really know how to make good meals!" Kirishima cried out.
"Yeah! You should make our dinners more often!" Ashido said back.
Midoriya noticed Chloe blushing a little, and Bakugo didn't seem to mind the compliments. He didn't even really say anything as they ate dinner. He could tell though that it meant a lot to him to be doing this with Chloe. Something about it seemed to help him relax a little as he ate his dinner. He was just glad that Chloe and Bakugo were finally able to do something special together.
Midoriya then noticed Skylar, and she didn't seem all that hungry.
"So... Is no one going to tell me what's going on with you guys?" Skylar asked them, "Me and Mr. Aizawa stood outside of the classroom for a long time. It must've been pretty interesting stuff if it took you that long to talk things out."
Midoriya was a little hesitant to tell her anything, she sat at his table with Uraraka and Iida. She was right next to him and leaned into him for answers. Midoriya got a little flustered, and Uraraka wasn't as annoyed as much as he thought she'd be. She didn't let up, which made him a little uncomfortable. Everyone looked at them, hoping or wondering that he wouldn't say much to her.
He looked at Skylar, and her eyes looked so bright and full of sparkles. Something about almost got him to confess to her as a blush formed across his face. As she got closer to him, something about her looked even more like Marinette than ever before. Her freckles made her look even more like her.
"I-I... I d-don't know... i-it all happened so fast... I-I c-can barely remember what happened..." Midoriya said to her.
"Come on. I know that you must've talked about something important," Skylar said back, "You can't say anything to me? I mean, I am your classmate now. I deserve to know, right?"
She wasn't pulling away from him, which just made him feel uncomfortable talking to her like this. He wanted to say something, but something told him not to. Something about her eyes was getting through to him however as she stared at him. In the corner of his eye, his classmates and friends were unsure if she should know about it.
Midoriya didn't know he could trust her however. He barely knew her, and yet he felt bad for her to go through that kind of stuff with her dad.
"W-Well... I--"
"Sorry Sparkles, but this isn't something that we can just tell anyone," Bakugo interrupted her, "You're just going to have to deal with the fact that you're new here."
That grabbed Skylar's attention, and she tilted her head.
"Sparkles?" Skylar said back with a glint in her eyes, "I like it! You can call me Sparkles any time."
Something about that threw Bakugo off and a vein was bulging from his forehead. Chloe tried to get him to calm down, but something about her liking it bothered him.
"Hey! I thought I was sparkly, oui!" Aoyama commented as he struck a pose.
Skylar looked over at Midoriya and hoped that he would still tell her something. He looked over at Adrien and spotted his Miraculous. He at least that she should know about Adrien's Miraculous. If anything, she deserved to know about that. Midoriya looked at her and got up to talk to Adrien who was sitting with Kirishima, Chloe and Bakugo.
"Don't you think she should know about your Miraculous? She's been here quite a while now. She's going to find out eventually," Midoriya said to him, "This is something that everyone in our class should know."
"Are you sure Deku? She's not exactly one to keep secrets," Bakugo said back, "She can't even keep her mouth shut for more than five minutes."
"I know that she can be a bit... in your face, but she really should know before things get complicated. At least about your Miraculous and even Chloe's," Midoriya explained to them, "I'm sure she'd understand to keep it a secret once you explain things to her."
Adrien and Chloe shared a look and knew that he was right. Midoriya could tell that it was better if they told now before things got a little harder to tell her the truth. They let out a sigh, both got up and walked over to Skylar. She looked at them like they were about to tell her something important.
"Look Skylar. What you need to understand is that this secret is suppose to stay between us and this school. No one else can know about this," Adrien explained to her, "This isn't something that you can just tell anyone."
Skylar's eyes lit up as she got ready for them to tell her. She made a motion with her fingers and pretended to zip her mouth shut. That was their cue to tell her about their Miraculous. Adrien pulled out his hand with the Miraculous on him, and Chloe took off hers to show Skylar what she was wearing.
"This jewelry... it's not exactly just some regular piece of jewelry," Adrien said to her, "They're called Miraculous. These are what give us our powers."
Skylar stared at them, trying to make sense of it all.
"You see, we have these Kwamis that come with these Miraculous, and they give us these powers," Chloe explained to her, "I have the Bee Miraculous, and Adrien here has the Black Cat Miraculous."
Skylar didn't say anything as they explained to her what they were. Something about it her face felt like they were talking to a preschooler. It felt kind of weird that she was taking this rather well so far. Then Adrien called Plagg to come out, and his Kwami flew around to meet Skylar. Something about that caught her eye as Plagg introduced himself.
"Hi. The name's Plagg. It's nice to meet you," Plagg said back, "I've gotta say, you look so much like Marinette. It's no wonder Adrien has a hard time talking to you."
"Plagg!" Adrien cried out as he tried to catch him with his face bright red.
Then Chloe brought out her Kwami, and they bowed to her very politely to Skylar.
"Hey there! I'm Pollen," Pollen introduced, "I hope that you and Chloe can be friends."
Skylar's eyes lit up as she saw how cute they all were. She looked like she wanted to hug Pollen, but held back surprisingly. She doesn't say much, which surprised everyone. They didn't understand why she was so quiet now of all times. They thought that she'd be jumping for joy, exciting to meet these Kwamis. She wasn't even trying to hug them or anything like that.
Adrien and Chloe shared a look, confused as to why she was acting this way. Then they thought they might as well transform even though they've done that with her around. She wasn't exactly paying attention, but still. Once they did, that seemed to catch her attention. She seemed to react once she saw Cat Noir right in front of her.
Midoriya seemed to notice how she seemed to recognized him. He knew that she's seen him during hero training and stuff, but something about this moment made it seem like she had seen him before all of this. He didn't understand what was going on with her, but he was feeling like this wasn't the best time to be telling her this.
Another amazing chapter!
I enjoyed writing this chapter! I had to split this chapter into two parts because it so long! I like that I made Skylar relatable to Adrien, and it's going to work out so well later on! I can't wait to see how it unfolds. I really enjoy writing Skylar because she's so upbeat and outgoing that I kind of enjoy it. She's just a lot of fun to write, especially with her quirk and Bakugo around her. I find it funny seeing her interact with these classmates! So, Skylar knows about Miraculous now. We'll see where this goes.
What's going to happen next??
More to come soon!
