Here's Chapter 7 everyone!

The forest loomed over them as the team caught their breath, facing down the Sound Four in tense silence. Each of them knew that, as powerful as they were together, their best shot at succeeding would be to split up. Shikamaru's mind worked quickly, his gaze drifting to each of his teammates as he assessed their strengths and the enemies they faced.
"Listen up," Shikamaru began, his voice low and measured. "We're not going to get anywhere if we stick together and let them pick us off in a group. We each have our own skills, skills that make us stronger if we take on one of them each. This way, we keep them occupied and buy ourselves more time."
Kiba and Choji exchanged glances, nodding as they each turned to their designated opponents. Naruto clenched his fists, eager to confront the obstacles in his way. Neji, however, remained silent, her eyes fixated on Kidomaru. There was something menacing yet exhilarating about this opponent. She could see his carefully measured stance, his chakra flowing with precision as he held himself with a calm, sinister confidence. This battle, she knew, would be one of wits as much as strength.
As they each diverged, Shikamaru placed a hand on Neji's shoulder, halting her briefly. "Be careful," he said, a rare seriousness softening his usually laid-back tone. "You've got the best eyes among us, but don't underestimate him. Use every advantage."
Neji offered a subtle nod, acknowledging the responsibility resting on her shoulders. She knew the risks and had accepted them long before she set foot on this mission. Her intense loyalty, especially to Naruto and the others, was something new to her, a sense of duty and friendship that she owed to Naruto's influence. He had taught her to see beyond herself, to see the value in fighting for others, and it was that spirit she would carry into this battle.
As she stepped into a secluded part of the forest, Kidomaru followed her, his movements casual, but his eyes focused and calculating. They stood a few meters apart, sizing each other up, the silence between them thick with anticipation. Kidomaru stretched his arms, pulling golden strands of webbing from his fingertips, and grinned with a cruel satisfaction.
"Lucky me. I get to play with the famous Byakugan user," he sneered. "I've been wanting to test those eyes of yours."
Neji's face remained impassive, though her mind was racing, analyzing Kidomaru's movements and chakra patterns. The Byakugan revealed much more than his physical form; she could see the flow of his chakra and the way his body was attuned to his techniques, a web of precision and control. He was no ordinary opponent.
Kidomaru wasted no time, launching a series of golden webs in rapid succession, each strand intended to restrict her movement and limit her attacks. Neji's Byakugan activated, the veins around her eyes bulging as she saw each strand, its chakra points and weaknesses. She dodged each attack with calculated grace, her movements fluid as she countered his strikes.
But Kidomaru was persistent. His attacks became quicker, his threads moving in erratic patterns, forcing Neji to stay on her toes. With every miss, he seemed to be gathering information, studying her reactions, adjusting his approach.
"You're faster than I thought," he said, smirking as he pulled back to a safe distance. "But you can't keep dodging forever. My webbing is limitless. Eventually, you'll get caught."
Neji clenched her fists, the chakra swirling at her fingertips as she assumed her Gentle Fist stance. "Then come and try."
Kidomaru's grin widened, his fingers twitching as he summoned more golden threads, this time forming them into arrows that glinted menacingly. He unleashed a volley of attacks, each arrow zipping through the air with pinpoint accuracy.
Neji's Byakugan followed every arrow's path, her body twisting and pivoting to evade each one. She struck at the webs as they passed, breaking them down with precise chakra strikes. But the more she countered, the more Kidomaru seemed to enjoy it, as though each failed attempt only deepened his resolve.
As the battle raged, Neji's mind wandered to moments she'd had with Naruto, those moments when his seemingly unbreakable resolve challenged everything she thought she knew. She remembered the way he had stood up to her during the Chunin Exams, his stubborn defiance of destiny, his refusal to believe that any path was set in stone. It had forced her to reconsider the rigidity of her own beliefs, to open herself to the possibility that her future wasn't fixed, that she could shape it with her own hands.
And now, as she fought, she understood that loyalty was more than an obligation, it was a choice, a strength drawn from the people she had come to respect. Naruto had shown her that fighting for others didn't weaken her resolve; it made her stronger, giving her purpose beyond the limits of her clan's expectations.
In that moment, Neji felt a new resolve ignite within her. She would fight not just for herself, but for those who had shown her a path beyond her own struggles. She would prove, to herself and to them, that she was no longer bound by fate, that she had the strength to fight her own battles.
Snapping back into focus, Neji's Byakugan flared, seeing beyond Kidomaru's webbing, tracing the source of his chakra, pinpointing his vulnerabilities. Kidomaru noticed her change in demeanor, his smirk faltering as he felt her intensity increase.
"You think you've figured me out?" he taunted, though a hint of uncertainty colored his words.
"I don't need to figure you out," Neji replied, her voice calm and unyielding. "I just need to end this."
Kidomaru gritted his teeth and unleashed a powerful attack, one that sent a massive web of chakra-infused threads spiraling toward her. The net spread out wide, each thread glowing with a sickly golden hue. There would be no way to dodge this.
But Neji was ready. She closed her eyes briefly, centering herself as she felt the chakra welling up within her. This was the moment she had trained for, the technique she had been working on for months. It was time to put it to the test.
As the web neared, she reopened her eyes, and her chakra surged in a burst of speed. Her form blurred, leaving only a faint shimmer as she moved faster than the eye could follow, evading the threads with a precision that left Kidomaru gaping in shock.
"Impossible," he hissed, his face twisted in disbelief as Neji reappeared a few meters away, unharmed.
But she wasn't finished. Using the momentum of her new technique, the Hyuga Body Flicker Technique, she closed the distance between them in an instant, her hands glowing with chakra as she struck at Kidomaru with a ferocity that matched her intensity.
Kidomaru was forced back, staggering under her relentless attacks. Neji's strikes targeted his chakra points with ruthless accuracy, each blow weakening him, disrupting his ability to control his threads. Kidomaru tried to counter, but his movements were sluggish, his defenses faltering as Neji continued her assault.
Panting, Kidomaru managed to create some distance, his golden webbing forming a desperate shield as he gasped for breath. "You… you're just a tool, a puppet of the Hyuga clan," he spat, his words laced with venom. "You think that fighting for your friends makes you strong? It makes you weak."
Neji's gaze hardened. "Strength isn't about being free from weakness. It's about choosing to fight despite it."
With a swift, final movement, she activated the Hyuga Body Flicker once more, appearing directly in front of him. Her hands moved in a blur, striking him with a combination of Gentle Fist techniques that sent a shockwave of chakra through his system.
Kidomaru collapsed to his knees, his chakra threads disintegrating around him. His eyes were wide with disbelief, his voice a weak whisper. "How… how did you…"
Neji didn't answer, her breathing steady as she watched him fall. Her focus was unshakable, her resolve reinforced by the lessons she had learned. She had fought for herself, her friends, and her beliefs, and that strength had carried her through.
The forest was silent as Kidomaru lay motionless, and Neji allowed herself a small, satisfied smile. She had faced her fears, proven her strength, and unlocked a new power that she would carry with her on the journey ahead.
With the enemy defeated and her spirit bolstered, Neji took a moment to catch her breath, her thoughts drifting briefly to Naruto and the others. This is just the beginning.
