The Cobras:
Eli, Demetri and Aisha sit with Yasmine and Moon at lunch and Yasmine remarks "I can't believe it. I can't believe that even without Sam here. They still sit with us".
Moon said, "They're not so bad. They're actually kinda cool". Moon looked at Eli.
Yasmine responded, "I can't believe you just said that".
Eli saw Kyler was staring at them and he asked, "Do any of you know where Miguel and Sam are".
Yasmine answered, "No Dork".
Moon told him "Come on Yasmine. You know that they're probably making out".
Demetri remarked "So, I guess their date went well".
Yasmine responded, "You think Brainiac".
Demetri responded, "I'll take that as a compliment".
Yasmine remarked "Of course you will loser".
Moon said "Yasmine. Stop. It's not nice to treat people that way".
Yasmine retorted "Really Moon. Do you think that it was alright for them to just waltz over to our table and sit down like they're our friends".
Moon answered "Yes. Because they are".
Aisha said "And if you don't like it. You can leave". Aisha smiled and Yasmine relented.
Eli looked at Moon and said "Hey, uh, Moon. You know if you're not doing anything".
Kyler heard this and seeing Miguel nor Samantha there, went over and interrupted Eli saying "Were you about to ask her out Lip. Because if you were then I save you the trouble of being rejected. She's hot and you're". Kyler grabbed Eli's face and said "You're nothing but a loser with messed up lip. What woman would ever want to kiss that".
Moon stood up and demanded "Stop. Leave him alone".
Kyler retorted "You really defending this loser, Moon".
Moon said "He's, my friend. And I will not have you making fun of him anymore. His lip is not his fault, and you shouldn't make fun of people just because they are not perfect".
Kyler laughed and said "He's nothing but a loser. And I know that just because he hangs people like Rhea, he's now cool. But what he really is. And always will be is a loser with the lip".
Moon moved towards Kyler and said "Go away and never bother him or anyone else again. You hear me".
Kyler commented "Hey, Lip. You're gonna let a girl fight for you. Are you that much of a loser".
Eli punched Kyler in the face and Kyler stumbled back and was shocked that he fought back. Eli answered, "Not as much as getting beat up by one".
Kyler marched towards Eli and punched him to the floor. Moon tried to stop Kyler and pleaded "No. Kyler stop".
Moon grabbed onto Kyler, and he threw her off and she fell to the ground. Eli seeing this became enraged at seeing him treat Moon this way and charged towards Kyler, but this time Kyler grabbed him and threw him to the ground. Eli groaned in pain and Kyler stood over Eli and said "Is that all you got lip. Maybe I can help you out with that thing". Kyler then stomped on Eli's face and knocked him out.
Counsellor Blatt saw this and called out "Mr Park. Office now".
Kyler groaned and said "Come on boys. Let's get out of here".
Moon and Eli rushed over to check on Eli. Counsellor Blatt led Kyler and his friends away and as they did, they walked past Miguel and Samantha. Kyler smiled and mocked "Better check on lip, Rhea".
Counsellor Blatt said, "No talking".
Miguel and Samantha became panicked and rushed to the cafeteria where they saw Moon and Demetri comforting an unconscious Eli.
The paramedics took Eli away and Moon was following them and said "It's okay Eli. You're going to be okay".
The paramedic said, "Stand back".
The paramedics took Eli to the back of the ambulance and as the students watch him be loaded in, they took out their phones and began to film. As they drove away Moon began to cry and hugged Demetri for comfort. Demetri was confused by this, and both Yasmine and Samantha intervened and began to comfort Moon.
Demetri, Miguel, Aisha, Samantha, Moon, and Yasmine all wait in the hospital waiting room when Mrs Moskowitz comes out and tells them tearfully "You can go see him now. He's awake. I'm just so glad that he has friends around him right now".
Demetri told her "Of course. He's my Binary brother. I'm going to be there for him always". Mrs Moskowitz was happy to hear this and said "I need to get his pillow. He deserves to be comfortable right now". Mrs Moskowitz left tearfully, and the group all felt bad for her, having to see her son treated like this at school.
They all went to his room and saw that Eli was covered in bruises and his nose completely broken. Demetri asked, "How are you doing buddy".
Eli responded "How do you think I'm doing. I just had my ass kicked".
Moon said "Don't feel bad. Kyler's a thug. And you tried your best".
Eli retorted "I know. I couldn't defend myself or protect you. No girl would ever want to go out with me".
Moon said "I will. We'll go out Friday night".
Eli said "Don't pity me, Moon. Be honest. If you weren't going to go out with me earlier, then don't pretend now".
Miguel said "I'm so sorry Eli. I should have been there".
Eli responds "Doesn't matter. You can't protect me 24/7. And I don't want you to. I need to learn how to do it myself".
Miguel responded "Okay, come with me to Mr LaRusso's. We'll learn Miyagi-do together".
Samantha said "Yeah, my dad will be happy to teach you".
Eli responded "I thank you both for the offer. But you always say it's about self-defence. I need to know how to actually attack or something like today could happen again".
Miguel said, "But Eli, that is not what you".
Eli interrupted "Please. I don't want to hear it right now. I just want some rest".
Miguel responded "Okay, we'll go. Text if you need us alright".
Eli nodded and Demetri said, "Be back soon, Binary brother".
Aisha said, "Get well soon".
Miguel said, "See you soon".
Samantha said, "Yeah get well".
Moon said "Goodbye Eli. I'll talk to you later. But call if you need anything".
Yasmine said, "See Ya". After they all left Eli began to cry.
Eli knew that he had to learn to be a man so a girl like Moon would go out with him. He needed to be able to defend her like Miguel could. But he knew that Miguel and Samantha's self-defence wasn't going to do anything. He needed to make sure they never came for him again. He needed to strike first. Eli searched online for Karate schools but none of them taught how to beat an enemy. He then searched through Instagram and found videos about the fight. He saw himself getting beat up and hated how pathetic he was. He threw his phone onto his bed wishing that he could beat his enemy when he decided to search up on Instagram 'Karate fighting'. He was expecting to see defensive stuff like what Samantha and Miguel do but the first post he saw was from Robby Keene and Eli knew this wasn't anything like this. Robby's strike were quick, powerful, and he was ruthless. He saw in the caption it read '#Strikefirst #StrikeHard #NoMercy #CobraKai #Karate #Fighting #DefeatDoesn'tExist'. Seeing all these made Eli realise that this was what he needed so he replied to the post and asked, 'Where did you learn this Karate'.
Eli put his phone down not expecting a response this quickly but then received a reply from Robby which said 'Cobra Kai. I train with my dad'.
Eli responded 'Does he teach at a dojo. Because I'm looking to train'.
Robby responded 'No, he doesn't. He only trains me'. Elis was despondent about this but then Robby replied 'But if you come to Reseda Heights on Sherman Way and Saticoy. You might be able to get my dad to teach you'. Eli was happy to see this reply.
Robby was practicing his Hook kicks destroying the boards that Johnny was holding up with every kick. Eli arrived at Reseda Heights and saw this. He knew it was Robby and Johnny and said "Robby Keene".
Robby and Johnny turned, and Johnny asked "Yeah. What".
Robby asked, "Are you Eli".
Eli answered weakly barely enough for Johnny and Robby to hear "Yeah, we were texting on Insta".
Johnny asked, "Robby who is this dork".
Robby answered, "He's someone who wants to learn Cobra Kai".
Johnny was surprised to hear this and said to Eli "Sorry kid, I don't teach. I'm only teaching Robby because he's my son and we're spending father and son time together".
Eli responded "But you have to. You have to teach me how to fight".
Johnny responded "Hey Kid. I love the enthusiasm. But I'm not a Sensei. So, just please leave".
Robby said "Come on dad. He's being bullied at school and wants to learn how to fight back".
Johnny looked at Eli and said "Of course he's being picked on. Look at that lip of his. I'd pick on him".
Robby exclaimed "Dad".
Johnny retorted "What. The kid's a loser with a freaky lip".
Robby said "Dad. He wants to learn the way of the fist".
Johnny went up to Eli and asked "Really. You; really want to be a Cobra Kai. And speak up no more mumbling".
Eli answered "Yes".
Johnny asked "Why. And I mean besides the kids making fun of you because I'm sure you've learnt to deal with that by now". Eli got out his phone and showed both Johnny and Eli the footage of the cafeteria. Johnny remarked "So, you got beat up. I'm sure that has happened a lot".
Robby exclaimed "Dad".
Johnny continued "But at least you did try to fight back. You didn't just take it like a pussy".
Eli said, "I want to learn so guys like Kyler don't make fun of me anymore and so Moon will go out with me".
Johnny asked "You mean the chick. Of course she won't go out with you, look at you". Robby sighed and Johnny continued "But you still actually tried, and you struck first and struck hard. So, I think there might able be a Cobra within you". Eli was happy to hear this and Johnny said "But there's nothing I can do to help you out with the girl. If you want to be something other than a nerd with a scar on his lip, you gotta flip the script, okay. Get a face tattoo or gouge your eye out. No, don't do that one. You'll still look like a freak".
Robby exclaimed "Dad". Robby then went over to Eli and said "Eli, I'm sorry for what those guys did to you. It was not right. But if you really want to train and be a badass then this is the place to be. Ignore my dad, he's an idiot".
Johnny said "I was just saying that even though you may have fight in you kid. Nothing is going to help you out with girls. You need to get attention away from that. Make it unnoticeable, so when they do notice you, it's your fists they notice. You got me".
Eli responded, "Yes, Mr Keene".
Johnny said "I'm not Mr Keene. I'm Johnny Lawrence but you can call me Sensei. That is if you want to shed your loser skin and awaken the snake within you. Become a Cobra Kai".
Eli answered, "Yes Sensei".
Johnny said "Well then. Welcome to Cobra Kai".
The next day while training Robby asked, "You think Eli will be coming".
Johnny answered, "He will if he actually wants to be a Cobra Kai".
Eli came up to them with a Blue Mohawk and said "I'm here Sensei. Ready to learn".
Johnny and Robby turned, and Eli exclaimed "Eli, what happened".
Eli answered, "I'm flipping the script".
Johnny asked "Wait. Are you the kid with the lip. Nice cut, bro. But are you ready to become badass".
Eli answered, "Yes Sensei".
Johnny said "Well then, Hawk. Fall in".
Robby and Hawk lined up and Johnny said, "Let's begin".
