Chapter 3-9: Another Quarrel
After having the potato, Briar and the others are looking around the area.
Of course, Grim sees so many treats, "Ooh! I see more tasty treats over there!"
"Those would be sausage rolls—sausages wrapped in pastry dough. During the fest they sell them in sets of two different flavors," Deuce says.
The group looks to see the sausage rolls and they are wrapped in the shape of rabbit ears. What's more, they're in a package that looks like the white rabbit.
"I love how they package them to look like the White Rabbit's ears," Epel says.
"They're so cute," Briar says.
"Let's get some for everyone," Deuce says.
"Since they come in pairs, we can share them in pairs too," Epel says.
The group then walks over and purchases the sausage rolls for each of them.
Sausage Roll Vendor says, "Come again!"
Deuce points to the two of them, "This one's cheesy, and this one's spicy."
"I think I'll go for the cheesy one," Epel says and takes the cheesy one. He eats it and says, "Ooh, the cheese is so warm and melty!"
"That one's made with shortcrust pastry, like what they use for tarts, so it holds its shape nice and firm," The vendor says.
"I'll try the spicy one then," Silver says and takes the spicy roll. He eats it and says, "The chili sauce gives it a bit of a kick. And the pastry is light with a satisfying crunch."
"That one uses puff pastry, which makes it crumbly and flakey," The vendor says.
"Wow, that one looks amazing, too…" Epel says.
"We can swap if you want," Silver says.
"Really? You're the best, Silver!" Epel replies.
"Which one do you want, Briar?" Grim asks.
"Cheese for me, "Briar says, and takes the cheese one.
"The cheese is pretty hot, so be careful not to burn your tongue," Epel says.
"And I'll chow down on the one that's left," Grim says and eats it, "Deeelish! But it was gone in like, two bites! I could go for another..."
"Well, there's one left over…" Silver says.
Tanzanite and Jasper both share one. Tanzanite eats the cheesy one while Jasper eats the spicy one. Sereia also eat the cheesy one along with Trinket, and left the spicy one
"That's mine, but I've gotten my fill of visually enjoying it, so someone else is welcome to it if they want!" Ortho says.
"ME!" Grim calls out.
"I'm hungry too after all that walking!" Epel says.
"So am I," Deuce says.
"I'd like more too," Briar says, sheepishly.
Sereia, Tanzanite, Jasper blush and express their hunger as well.
"You too, eh guys?" Deuce says, "I suppose it's nice that everyone's so taken with the Queendom of Roses cuisine at least."
"Is this going to turn into another quarrel?" Epel asks.
Then Ortho says, "Why don't we just have Ortho divide it evenly into five pieces?"
"Oh yeah, I bet Ortho can use a laser or something to slice it up with pinpoint precision!" Epel says.
"Would you mind, Ortho?" Deuce asks.
"Huh? Are you sure you want ME to do it...?" Ortho asks.
Deuce advises, "It'd be a huge help."
"Suit yourselves…" Ortho says, and soon shreds them, "There you are."
"You just shredded it with your hands!" Deuce exclaims.
"The pieces are all different sizes!" Epel says.
"This is why I checked first…" Ortho says, "Since I put the Rabbit Gear together in a hurry, I prioritized its visual impact and left out a lot of my usual functionality."
"I didn't realize…" Deuce says.
Grim complains, "Not fair—I ended up with the smallest piece…"
"Don't you start again, Grim! Let's just eat and be done with it," Epel says and eats a piece.
"Good idea!" Deuce says, and takes a bite
"Right," Silver says and takes a bite.
"Grim, want to swap? I'm not into spicy foods," Briar says.
"Ooh! Yeah, yours looks a little bigger!" Grim says, but then he says, "...Nah, wait. Now that I see it up close, I think it's actually SMALLER. I'll stick with what I got!" And eats his piece.
"Whatever you say," Briar says, and takes a bite.
