Chapter 25: Midnight in Red Lights – Winged Terror on the Ground Floor
/
Ami paced her dorm room as soon as it was purified to sleep back in. She felt as if she'd abandoned someone who needed her more than ever. Her phone would not stop getting texts that night from Jackie as her bag was packed for the station. She didn't want to be here where half of those she trusted weren't. Her dad and Aiden were in the same country again, yet she felt more alone as Kaede wasn't the one to swoop in and bother her about her idea of ditching her dorm's curfew.
"Ami – San."
It was Aya, who in her guardian form, felt as powerless as the rest. She'd been forced to desist with a long-aged country by the order of Iyori's father, Kohaku Dairenji. In this case, she was out of a job and desperate despite her shortcomings, to see to finding the trail they had left behind. Ami had a plan, yet the younger fifteen-and-a-half-year-old did not, exactly know what that wasn't…
"Aha!" Kaede swept round the corner as Aya rolled her eyes the other way. "Hello, half – hound."
"OH??" Kaede barked. "What's this about a secret? I heard you were –
" Shush!! Both of you!" Hissed the titan's younger teen. "Aiden and the others don't need to know about this…I'm going out, back to Tokyo."
"Why??"
"I got a vision…" Ami began, Kaede's long fox ears rising in suspicion. "From Ageha, in that spot by the steps when I went down em. And, she told me to find her in the place…where the red lights never went dim."
"Red Light district…" Growled Kaede. "You're not going off to find her alone, I'll go."
"I must, you must allow me to aid-
"So, what? You'll lose her too??" Kaede's jaws snapped at the grasshopper as Aya tried to pull a preying mantis strike on the dog. "I did not lose Iyori- chan! She was dismissed, as was I. This is more; I might find what they are attempting to do to her…her father, I never dared question him, yet there is an aura I sensed." She told the fox. "Her brother as well is not guilty, yet to be her…this cannot be right!"
"They aren't really related." Shrugged Kaede. "Anyway, for a man with that much political and financial influence since he took over half of Shoji's company-
"Not him!" Ami shook her head next. "Shun was in on it, but…I smell a curse going on and we have to get to the source. Are you both gonna come or not?"

Shun stood at his desk and relished in the feeling of having those eyes gawk at him being well…alive?
"JUST A STUNT!" He yelled at the scared scientists. "Mr. Dairenji? Sir? Might I ask about restarting the two twin protocols –
The new CEO looked at the data in his hands and then at the two screens displaying a sun, moon, and a body that was shaped to look like child with long dark hair, tan and very feeble until the process was done. "Where is the Kokkuri demon? Was she not in charge of handling your mess up?"
~ Right here, sir…? ~ Shun spoke as it spoke through him, in his voice. The staff only believed it something of a code word. "Good, then yes. Project Daylight with our exclusive add on should be returned to how it was…no games. Understood?"
"Oh, but of course! There is no way in the world I'd miss the take- uh…unveiling of the world's most incredible endeavor since electricity!" Grinned Shun as Kohaku and his business allies left the technology world to grab the dash and shake it noisily. "I hate this!! No! Way!!"
He stopped as soon as a pinkie began to pop loose, a staff was dragged off by what looked to be armed shadow creatures. The big boss sure had expended on no less than the best hands for the job to keep this project. Under wraps.
~ If the boy in that glass vessel can make our world once more into fruition… there will not need to be a project Red Moon ever again. ~ Sighed Kokkuri as it released Shun ti get back to his job, while the demon…
Tapped its fingers and wanted to know if there was need of some, magic of another aura on this plane. Technology held life, yet to crack it the magi and more of these "Technology wizards" would be readily needed in the future.
~ Lady Ageha hunts at night, yet we won't rest either. ~
There was work to be done, including harnessing the vessel if the young lord Raku as he slept on. Motionless inside a glass vat, completely bare naked to his enemies.

"So, wait…" Roko touched her chest as Zee yippee covered John's eyes. "I'm….in the wrong body?? Where is his?? They just up and snatched it?? I thought you defied fate, blokie??"
"I'm not yours, and you told me you just took it over. Where is my pupil, daemon??"
"NOT." She pointed to the tip if her small nose with a smile. "Here. Not exactly, magi. Another witch had you two strike out. Too bad….you need me, you know?"
"Slade dealt just fine keeping you from eating his brainstem. Should I hope you're no cannibal any longer? That if I turn my back, you won't try to steal my soul and my luck?"
"Raku." She sighed. "You treated him, and look what that did. He's a frightened, dumb mouse without a spine. Trying to make him a God of anything was clearly the wrong choice." She chuckled. "I'm not demon, sir. As- pect. A part of the sad, sad little boy born to a dune planet."
"You existed to use him, to be housed there unconsciously." John said gruffly. "You're more what he fears than your counterpart, the male one."
"Rouko?" The girl tilted her dark long hair to ask. "I could ask him. We are both pretty much borne of the same cloth."
"Wait!"
It was too late as she let her chest go flat and her muscle turn to wire and formed as a soldier in training's. He had the same eyes, face, even hair but, was a different gender. Raku then was non binary for this reason as housing the two. His third being simply a combo of both left and right brain, respectfully. "You rang?"
"I get that along, mate. You're not pulling a fast act. I want answers. How do I gain access to her void? If he's not there now –
"Soul is, body…" Rouko yawned and leaned into the chains that kept him from running off. Leaning our, his nearly bare chest and long hair made him look like a truly arrogant prince of the past. The part Raku knew as wrath and greed. "Body, in not there, but here."
"On…John??"
"Where? Out with it!" John was grabbing his things as Rouko yawned yet again. "Oh, maybe on this earth, but not in your city any longer. A lot of bright lights…so much high energy for the cost of lives to be born thrice. I think…a sun is involved?"
"Sun…what does…" Zee gasped. "Ami?? Aiden, too?"
"Sun gods, and what country do you suspect them to be in, lad?"
"Humm…..ne?" The boy shrugged.
John blinked. " You kid, just gave away our answer." He grinned. "Hakuro and Zee will be here to make sure you can't leave the house. Zee? He'd gladly tug your leg to have a taste of the high life. Don't let him even get up to whizz if he asks."
"WHAT??" Roko returned to the body as she tugged the magically enchanted chains. "I am… going to help or not?? You need me to find him!"
"I only need the body." John smirked though the doorway as Roko's eyes grew furious and wider. "Let this be "his" lesson. You play nasty with an equally wary con, your relationship hits a rut. I'd think about it if I were you. Remember, you only expliat because he still wants to keep you afloat of his emotions. Won't be the same when he's all grown up, will ut?"
Roko threw a tantrum as John rolled his eyes and made his way out. Roko bawled out and threw herself to the floor until Zee saw something strange occur. Roko. Stopped.
Her body was calm and her eyes, much more placid as she sat cross legged. "John??" Zee told Hakuro to wait as he put up a seal to block the doubles from casting their own set of spells. "John!!" Zee ran to find him as he turned back, yet the house was carrying him through a vortex as John yelled out to Zee and tossed an amulet with a symbol of a shield on it.
She caught it and ran back, using the magic aa it was written in Sumerian script.
Roko started to curl up and let out a blood curdling scream. Zee held tightly until the tears were all but somber. The double was on its side, weeping softly as if in a place meant to torture it fir having been born. Was she…all that bad, Zee wanted to know?
Hakuro didn't show his emotions as he sat and watched the double with eyes narrowed at it in warning. Rokou returned as he yelled at the sorcerer and ethereal teen. "Like yourselves that much. Do you?? My aspect form is safe, yet she takes most of our pain…Roko wasn't from fucking Lilith, you imbeciles! She was experimented on by Lord Raku to control his child- she was the abused state he was in as a child in the dune capital, bit the "tangible" side was a tortured slave of the king's raid that fit the bill for his experiments! She was a mortal born spirit that suffered and was used by Raku's dark alter…and so was I. I was s part of Rokuro, the son's darkness. There was only the part that I live, because she exists. If she did not…" Rouko scoffed. "What do you care? It's like you all see right through us, anyhow…

(This was mentioned in earlier arcs that Roko was experimented on and her body is actually that of a slave child to an old culture that Roku well, captured and killed off in his quest for power. So it goes, she was chosen to inherently carry the Anima or female soul in her son, overriding her own soul as he pretty much erased it to allow her body to only exist as a carrier of sorts. When she well, died, one can say that her soul vanished but I think it was buried and comes back from time to time unconsciously. Because her pain was similar to Raku's in his dark tale, she became the candidate to handle the tasks he gave her as Roku. Read wattpad story regarding this.)
