Chapter 151: Wonderbolts Academy

When the trip to Winsome Falls had come to an end and they had returned home, Spyro immediately got to his garage and started working on his new project, Project Light Wing, which he started witht he forge, melting some Beskar and getting some b;ank molds out to begin molding the case for the device while his AI unit got the needed wiring and skematics drawn up so he could have an idea of what it would look like and how it would go as he worked. The next day, he was working on the device, slowly getting it to where it could be tested when he got it finished, which it looked a bit like the space suits that Rocket made for the Guardians, except it had several grooves in it to allow for wings to come out and to go over the joint area where a pegasi's wings were, wanting to give it a test run, he cleared his garage out to get a test run started on it right as Applejack walked over to come get him, seeing the open space and saw Spyro in the middle of the room, attaching the device to his back.

"Alright, Light Wing proto type testing is a go." Spyro said as an arm brought a camera down to record what happened. "Utilization of a new power crystal to allow for flight using minimal to no energy output to allow for prolonged flight in the atmosphere, utilizing special energy coils that had been miniaturized to allow for maximum effect to allow for stability and flexibility."

"Alright, Ah give up, what the heck ya up to this time?" Applejack asked. "And it better not blow the house up again like yer last invention did."

"Don't worry AJ, this one is small and very safe." Spyro said as two small coils slithered up and attached to his neck. "Neural interfacing in progress." As they connected to his spine, he felt a stabbing pain, feeling the device connecting. "Interface successful, but may need to work on how it connects. Now, igniting wings." The device activated, humming a bit as purple light shined out and a set of Pegasi wings came out, flapping them a few times to get a feel for them. "Wings are stable, connection holding strong."

"What in tarnation is this thing?" Applejack asked.

"It's a special device that connects to the neural network of the nervous system to allow for the temperal lobe to send direct communication to the neurological center of the device, allowing it to process the information from the cerebellum to allow for the device to act like the bodies biological appendages like they were the actual organic counterparts, allowing for flight." Spyro replied. Applejack gave him a confused look, not understanding a word he had said, which he face smacked himself. "Basically I think about flying and the module will let me fly."

"Well why didn't ya say so in the first place?" Applejack asked, maing Spyro groan as she looked around. "Ya sure ya don't wanna test this crazy contraption outside? Might allow ya to use it without hurting yourself.

"That's the thing AJ, I dont want Scootaloo to see what I'm working on." Spyro replied. "This is a present for her as I want her to know the thrill of being able to fly after she used the crystal to bring me back."

"Aw, that's s sweet of ya sugarcube." Applejack said.

"Yeah, it's our little secret, ok?" Spyro asked, which she nodded her head. "Alrighty, now back away AJ, don't want you to get hurt." He took a couple of steps back, the farm mare watching as the wings moved as he said they would. "Test flight in three... two... one!" But as he said that, the wings flapped, but sent him flipping backwards into the wall, making him fall like Tony Stark did when making his suit the frst time, making Applejack laugh as he pulled himself up. "Ok then, AIVA, take a memo. Calibrate the device to not flap too hard and reduce power in the motor."

"Ya ok there hun?" Applejack asked, still laughing.

"Eh, I'll live." Spyro said, the device deactivating and taking it off. "Though I'm gonna need to make some ajdustments to the device and the design. AIVA, think you can work on it a bit?"

"Certainly sir." AIVA replied. "Should I also install the size function to allow the device to make the wings bigger or smaller based on the user?"

"Yeah, do that please." Spyro said, putting the device on the table as he approached Applejack. "Now, what can I do for ya AJ?"

"Well, we're supposed to be at Rainbow Dash's to see if she got an invite to the WonderBolts Academy." Applejack replied.

"Oh yeah, completely forgot about that." Spyro said. "Let's get going then. Don't want to miss this. AIVA, get the mobile invention kit out and fill it with everything I need to continue to work on the Light Wing Proto type."

"Certainly sir." AIVA said, a large metal box coming up. "I'll also upload the new designs to the kit as I come up with them."

"Alright then." Spyro said, using his magoc to get the kit and attach it to his side. "Lead on AJ."

The two of them made their way to Rainbow Dash's house to await for the cyan pegasus to see if she got accepted to the academy or not. Once there, the rest of their friends had already arrived and had set up a picnic blanket and had food set up in frint of them, everyone waiting in their own way with Twilight reading a book under the shade, Fluttershy talking with one of her animal friends, Rarity working on her hair while Rainbow Dash and Applejack were just talking, Pinkie bouncing around impatiently while Spyro was tinkering with the device, checking if what he did would work, but kept on getting errors, making him redo it to try and get it right.

"Oh, I wish the mail pony would get here already!" Pinkie said.

"Pinkie, relax, she'll come." Spyro replied, putting a couple of wires in the flight module. "You just need to be patient."

"But I don't want ot be patient!" Pinkie replied. "I need to know now if Rainbow Dash got in or not!"

"Pinkie, you're more nervous about getting the news than Rainbow Dash." Twilight said.

"Heh, I'm not nervous." Rainbow Dash replied. "When I get into the Wonderbolts Academy-"

"If you get in!" Pinkie exclaimed, grabbing her throat and causing her to get chocked. "If you get in! Don't jinx it."

"Pinkie, there's no way she wouldn't get into the Academy." Spyro said. "I mean after doing the Sonic Rainboom in the Yound Fliers Competition, she's guaranteed to get in."

"DON'T JINX IT!" Pinkie screamed, making him drop the device and cause some components to fall out, glaring at the pink party pony.

"Spyro's right Pinkie." Applejack said, biting into an apple. "She is the best flier in Ponyville."

"Ponyville?" Rainbow Dash asked, flying upward. "Try all of Equestria!" She shaped a cloud into a slide, goting down it head first as she flew down. I wouldn't be surprised if I was made a Wonderbolt on my first day."

She then flew right into the mail pony, fallign to the ground as she looked up to see him.

"Got a letter here for Rainbow Dash." The mail pony said.

The cyan pegasus took the letter and opened it immediately, reading what was on it, but looking depressed.

"I... I didn't get in."

"WHAT!?" Spyro exclaimed, his eyes flashing yellow and red for a moment as the girls gasped. "How the heck didn't you get in!?"

"Gotcha!" She said, revealing she was in as they breathed a sigh of relief. "You guys are way too gullible. Like I wasn't going to get in."

"Oh, you wanna play those kinds of games do ya?" Spyro asked.

Rainbow Dash looked and her eyes widened as he tackled her, tickling the pegasus as she laughed uncontrollably, trying to get him to stop.

"Spyro, stop please!?" Rainbow Dash said, still laughing. "You know I'm ticklish there! That's not fair!"

"Spyro?" The mail pony asked. "You're Spyro?"

"I am." Spyro said, looking up at the pony.

"Well, that makes my job easier." He replied, pulling out another letter. "Got some mail for you as well."

He pulled out another envelope and gave it to Spyro, who opened it to see what it was about as the others looked at him.

"Whose it from?" Fluttershy asked.

"It's from Spitfire, captain of the Wonderbolts." Spyro replied, reading it while everyone was confused as to why he would get a letter from the Wonderbolts. "She would like for me to be a guest teacher and instructor for the Wonderbolts Academy."

"Why would they want you to be a teacher and a student?" Twiligth asked.

"Beats me." Spyro replied. "It's a mystery."

"Who cares why, this is going to be awesome!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"I"M SO HAPPY FOR THE BOTH OF YOU!" Pinkie shouted, tackling them and giving them the biggest bear hug, almist breaking their spines as they tried to get free

"Pinkie... we kinda need to get going." Rainbow Dash said, which the party pony squeezed them even tighter.

"I'm gonna miss you two so much!" Pinkie said.

"Pinkie, we'll only be gone for a week." Spyro said. "It's not that big of a deal."

"It will be for me!" Pinkie replied. "It'll be an eternity!"

"Now you're starting to sound a bit like Rainbow Dash as she's waiting in line just to get some cider." Spyro said, getting free.

Pinkie then released Rainbow Dash and the cyan pegasus flew straight for her house, hearding some stuff falling and a bunch of random noises before she flew out with her saddle bags on.

"Come on Spyro!" She shouted. "The sooner we get there, the sooner I can show them how awesome I am!"

She then took off, leaving Spyro behind as he shook his head, walking over to his mobile invention kit and packing everything up before following after her, making sure everything was secure before leaving right as Pinkie got a megaphone out and held the switch to turn it on.

"DON'T FORGET TO WRITE!" Pinkie shouted, making Spyro cover his ears at the loud shout, the megaphone amplifying the shout as everyone covered their ears. "Do you think they heard me?"

"Pinkie, I'm pretty sure you broke the sound barrier in all of the worlds shouting to them." Twilight said. "Chances are you probably broke the barrier between worlds with that."

As if on cue, the wave of ear deafening sound reached beyond Equestria, passing through all the worlds, but as it did, it caused a ripple to appear and from it a small rift to open, turning into a wormhole to open in the middle of Spyro's Garage that allowed for a Lion's roar to sound before the rift closed, leaving behind a piece of ice that started to expand and freeze everything around it. A few minutes later, Spyro and Rainbow Dash were makign their way to Cloudsdale where the Wonderbolts Academy was located nearby, flying through the air and past some of the local weather ponies, waving to them as they went by. After a while, they found the academy and the base of the Wonderbolts, which to Spyro's surprise wasn;t make of clouds, but instead was a large piece of land as tall as a mountain with the buildings looking like a military camp on the side of a large runway for pegasi speeding off or coming in for a landing, some of the Pegasi taking off, doing different stunts, even doing some exercises and military manuevers like in an actual army.

"This is going to be awesome!" Rainbow Dash said. "I'm one step closer to being a Wonderbolt!"

"Glad to see you so enthusiastic Rainbow." Spyro said, looking around. "I must admit, this place is truly spectacular. Land for non-pegasi to walk on, plenty of housing for the recruits, this place has everything." Spyro then took out the letter from Spitfire, looking it over again to make sure he understood where he needed to go. "I'm gonna go and see if I can find Spitfire, let her know I've arrived and see what she needs me to do."

"Oh, ok then." Rainbow Dash said, looking jealous. "Lucky."

"Don;t worry little rainbow, I'll be back soon." Spyro said, flying up and giving her a peck on the cheek, making her blush as she tried to play it off, but she couldn;t help but feel hapy he did that as he flew off.

Spyro landed on the ground and asked around for directions to Spitfire's office, following the directions until he reached the office building, navigating the halls until he found her office, knocking on the door to let her know someone was there.

"Come in." Spitfire said. Spyro opened the door and at the desk was a yellow pegasus pony with an orange mane going through some paperwork, wearing a blue military jacket and hat with a few medals on it to show her rank among the team, having sunglasses over her eyes as she went through the paperwork. She looked up a moment to see who it was and her ears perked up, seeing that the prince had arrived as she stood up. "Ah, your majesty, good to meet you at last. I'm Spitfire, captain of the Wonderbolts."

"Glad to meet you as well Spitfire." Spyro said. "Though we never got a proper introduction. But my nose definitely got an introduction from your right hook back in ponyville."

"What are you talking about?" Spitfire asked. "That was when we were trying to fight a dragon." Spyro just smiled, glowing a bit and changing into a smaller version of his dragon form, shockign the captain as her coat went white. "I am so, so sorry your highness! I-I-I didn't mean to-"

"Don't worry about is captain." Spyro said, reverting to normal. "Water under the bridge. I don't hold a grudge. Now, what was it you needed me for?"

"Oh yes." Spitfire said. "Well, the princess needed you to help me to motivate some of these fliers to become better Wonderbolts once a spot on the team opens up. We put our recuits through tough and rigerous training manuevers, so no sugarcoating it. You'll be helping us to keep the recruits in their place while also providing examples for some of the obstacles we'll be having them go through. Plus we want to encourage them to go above and beyond for a chance to become a Wonderbolt as we only take the best while working as a team. We look out for one another, we communicate, we cooperate, and we never give up."

"Sound like a well oiled machine you got here." Spyro said. "When do we start?"

"Right now." Spitfire said. "I notice you had some good moves and manuvers the few times I went out on patrol for the princess. I was hoping that you could teach them what you know and inspire them to do better than their best. I would like for you to cone up with some training regiments to test them, see if any of the new recruits have what it takes to be the best."

"Ms. Fire, you can count on me." Spyro replied.

"Good." Spitfire said. "Come, let's get you some suitible attire for the week."

Spitfire escorted Spyro out of her office and headed towards a place to get him a suit he could wear while at the academy and once there, they got him a Wonderbolt suit, though it was colored black by mistake, it was the right size for him, so he made a few modifications to allow for his horns to poke out and large enough for his dragon tail to fit through, walking out with Spitfire as she gave him a whistle, making the Keyblade warrior smile as they walked out and saw a whole group of pegasi there, including Rainbow Dash as they were talking.

"Looks like you got a bunch of recruits here captain." Spyro said. "Hopefully uou'll find at least one who will meet your requirements."

He looked over to Rainbow Dash, who looked excited to be there as he smiled.

"We do indeed." Spitfire said. "And I noticed your marefriend is among the crowd. Better not show any special favors to her."

"You kidding?" Spyro asked. "I have all the members of my heard with a Keyblade go through serious training back in Ponyville. No way will I go easy just because she's my girlfriend."

"Good to hear." Spitfire said. "Wait here until I announce you, then come out and address the crowd." Spitfire walked over to the recruits with a couple other pegasi with her on both sides. "Lookie what we have here." Spitfire said, everyone standing at attention as she approached. "Bet ya'll think your Wonderbolt material, don't ya?"

"Yes ma'am!" They all shouted in unison.

"Think you got what it takes to be an elite flier?" Spitfire asked.

"Yes ma'am!" They shouted.

"Well then, let me tell you, YOU DON'T!" She shouted back, walking along. "If you had what it took to be an elite flier, you'd already be a Wonderbolt!" Spyro continued to watch as Spitfire sized up all the ponies that were in the line, one of which being Thunderlane, who had fully recovered after getting the feather flu, but he looked nervous, his legs shaking as he felt intimidated by Spitfire as she walked by and another pony he didn't expect to see what the buff white pegasi with the tiniest wings, who looked the most intimidated as he shrunk down as Spitfire glared at him before coming to Rainbow Dash to try and intimidate her. "You look like the weakest flier of the bunch. Bet you'll quiet on the first day."

"No ma'am!" Rainbow Dash replied. "I'd never quit ma'am!"

Spitfire just scoffed, walking to the next pegasus mare, her coat a light turquoise with an amber colored mane wityh gold stripes to go with it and her cutie mark was a lightning bolt hitting three stars. As Spitfire approached her, the pegasus mare was like Rainbow Dash, fearless and standing tall among the others.

"What about you?" Spitfire asked. "Bet you couldn't get past the first flagpole without getting winded."

"Try me ma'am." The pony said, making eveyrone look at her.

"Excuse me?" Spitfire said, lowering her glasses. "What did you just say?"

"Let me show you what I got ma'am." The pony replied, looking confident and acting cocky, much like Rainbow Dash, but a bit more rude.

"Hmm, what's your name cadet?" Spitfire asked.

"Lightning Dust ma'am." The mare replied.

"Well Lightning Dust, you want a chance to prove yourself, don't ya?" Spitfire asked.

"Yes ma'am." Lightning Dust replied.

"Well then, because of your little cocky remark, everyone here is going to do five hundred laps." Spitfire said, makign them groan except for Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash. "And before I let you all get started on the laps, I got a surprise for you all. For the next week, you'll be instructed by our special guest instructor. The Prince of Light and Darkness, Spyro."

As she announced his name, Spyro walked out, wearing the suit he was given and shocking the crowd as some of them remembered him from Ponyville and many were from there, approached and standing next to Spitfire to addresss the crowd.

"Listen up fresh meat, and listen well as I'm only going to say this once." Spyro said, walking up and down the line. "For the next week, Spitfire and I will be putting you through the ringer to see if you have what it takes to be a Wonderbolt. For the next week, you're all mine to play around and toy with. In addition to some of Spitfires training exercises, we'll be adding some of my own training excersises. And it won't be any small time stuff either! You underestimate me, you're done. Now you ready to become a Wonderbolt!?"

"Sir yes sir!" They shouted.

"I can't hear ya maggots!" Spyro shouted.

"SIR YES SIR!" They shouted again.

"Then prove it!" Spyro shouted. "Five hundred laps, NOW!"

Spyro then blew into his whistle and everyone took flight, heading into the sky while Spitfire and Spyro remained on the ground to tally up how many laps they do, but Spyro was more concerned about Light ing Dust, her attitude going to be a problem as there is one thing you never do in a military type of setting and that is talking back to a superior officer. As they watched the recruits go around the entire airfield, Spitfire was keeping track of everyone's laps as they went by until Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust finished, finishing ahead of the pack by several laps and taking a break while letting the others catch up.

"Not bad, for a couple of rookies." Spitfire said, Spyro walking up.

"Alright recruits, listen up!" Spyro said, walking over. "That was just a warm up to what you'll be doing for the next week. For this entire week, you will be pushed beyond your limits. You will cut, you will bleed, and you will suffer, but if you perceiver, work your hardest and not give up, someday you may be able to become a Wonderbolt. Now get into your training suits and get some grub. Meet back here in one hour." The pegasi all left to get settled in for the week and to get their suits on, which Spyro saw Rainbow Dash walking with Lightning Dust, catching up with them. "Looks like you made a new friend."

"I sure did!" Rainbow Dash said. "Lightning Dust, this is Spyro."

"No way, the Spyro!?" Lightning Dust asked. "I have heard so much about you and how you defeat those monsters everyday with nothing but a key!"

"Seems like my reputation precedes me." Spyro said. "You got guts Lightning Dust. Daring the CO like that is one way to make everyone hate you, for if you disrespect her, she punishes the whole battalion."

"Eh, they'll get over it." Lightning Dust replied. "To be the best, you must be willing to do anything to make it happen. Right Rainbow Dash?"

"You said it." Rainbow Dash said. "Hey, let's go get some food, I'm starved."

The two pegasi left the prince alone, shaking his head as he knew that Lightning Dust was going to be trouble and decided to keep an eye on her. After everyone got settle down and got some food, they returned to the runway in their training suits where Spyro and Spitfire were waiting for them with a cloth over a device that was brought out.

"The Wonderbolts are the fastest, and the more precise fliers in the world." Spitfire said. "However, spin outs can still happen and when they do, a Wonderbolt must be able to recover quickly." A second later, one of the Pegasi pulled the sheet off to reveal a large cicle that looked like a hypnosis wheel with a couple of gears, a smaller one in the center with a larger one on the side with a metal bar in the center of the larger gear to keep a pony in it until a lever was pulled to release them. "This is the dizzatron and like it's name suggests, it's gonna make you very, VERY dizzy. And if you guys had a big lunch, you're gonna be loosing it. Your task is to get yourself under cntrol as quickly as possible and fly straight again."

"All while not throwing up." Spyro added. "You throw up, you're cleaning it up."

"Once you've recovered, you are to come in for a smooth landing." Spitfire continued. "Spyro, care to demonstrate please?" Spyro nodded and flew up into the slot for the pony, waiting for the machine to start. "Ready?"

"Born ready." Spyro replied, smiling.

"Start the machine!" Spitfire exclaimed. The other pegasus that was with her started the machine, allowing for the circle to spin while the gears turned, making him spin as the machine got faster and faster, the other pegasi following him as he went, smiling at the thrill of it. "Release!"

The pegasi assistant pull the lever and flung him out of the machine, making him spin before he straightened himself out, gliding down and landing perfectly, smiling like an idiot at the thrill.

"WOOH, that was fun!" Spyro shouted, looking to the other pegasi. "Alright, which of ya is first?" The only two who rqised their hooves was Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust, the others too nervous as he approached. "Only two want to go, huh? Alrighty then, we'll started from right to left. Your guy's right to left."

He then looked at a pink pegasi, looking at Spyro in shock and fear.

"M-me?" She asked, looking past him and to the Dizzatron, gulping some air.

"NOW!" Spitfire shouted. The pegasi jumped in the air and ran for the machine, strapping in as she looked very nervous. "Go!" The machine started up and she started to spin faster and faster, everyone watching as the pegasi was being spun around, looking a little green as the machine went. "Release!"

The assistant pulled the lever and flung the pegasi out into the air, the pegasi spinning out before straightening herself out and coming in for a landing, but her landing wasn't smooth as she skidded on her flank for a second before spinning on her stomach, coming to a halt in front of them, her eyes spinning before her cheeks blew up, running for the side and throwing up, her face turning green as she looked back.

"Huh, fifteen seconds." Spyro said, holding a stopwatch.

"Decent, but nothing to write home about." Spitfire said. "Alright, next up, Rainbow Dash!"

"Yes ma'am!" Rainbow Dash said, flying up and strapping herself in.

"Alright, go!" Spitfire said. The machine started up again, letting the machine spin for a little while as everyone watched. "Release!"

The machine then flung Rainbow Dash, making the pony spin before straightening herself out and coming back quickly and flying past them, Spyro stopping the stopwatch and looking at the results.

"Dang, six seconds." Spyro said.

"Six seconds?" Spitfire asked. "That's a new academy record there."

"She's just that good." Spyro said. "Alright, Lightning Dust, you're up!"

"Sir, ma'am, can you put the Dizzatron at maximum?" Lightning Dust asked, strapping herself in. "I want to push my limits."

Spyro and Spitfire looked at one another, both of them surprised that she asked that.

"You sure about this Lightning Dust?" Spyro asked. "You might not be able to recover."

"Yes sir." Lightning Dust said.

"Alright, you're funeral." Spyro said. "Go!"

The assistant pulled the lever and started the machine up, making it spin as usual, but then pulled another lever, making it go to maximum, but it had the symbol of a skull as they watched the machine spin the pegasi faster and faster, making him worry.

"Release!" Spitfire shouted.

The machine then launched her, throwing her out like a cannon ball being fired out of a cannon as she flew off, but she recovered quickly and dove down, flying past them just as quickly as Rainbow Dash, Spyro stopping the watch.

"Huh, six point five seconds." Spyro said. "Not bad."

Lightning Dust walked over and hoof bumped Rainbow Dash, proud of herself as they continued to go through the other recruits, most of which too dizzy or puking after landing, some even crashing as they wrote down their time, walking over to the ponies as they got back up.

"Alright everypony, listen up!" Spitfire said. "For the rest of the week, you'll be split into pairs. A lead pony and a wing pony. Tomorrow morning, I'll be posting the teams. For the rest of the week, you're under Spyro's charge. Good luck."

"You're going to need it." Spyro said, walking over. "Listen up cherries, you've had it easy so far, but the kind of training I put my Keyblade bearers through is more rigerous than this and that's just the light stuff. Tomorrow morning, we'll be putting you through the ringer and seeing if you have a guts to do what it takes to be a Wonderbolt. Dismissed!"

Spyro and Spitfire walked away from the recruits as they went o the office building to look over the results.

"You sure you can handle the recruits?" Spitfire asked.

"Trust me, I've handled worse than a few rookies." Spyro said. "Plus, I might have a few ideas on how to spice up the training a bit." He then puled the slide on his bracers back, making contact with his AI unit. "AIVA, get the Stingrays ready and bring them to these coordinates. Time to have some fun."

The next morning, Spyro was in Spitfire's office to recieve his next set of orders on how to train the recruits while also signing some forms and autographs when they heard someone knock on the door.

"Come in." Spitfire said.

The door opened to reveal Rainbow Dash was there and she didn't look happy.

"Permission to enter ma'am?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"What is it Rainbow Dash?" Spitfire asked.

"I had the best time on the Dizzatron!" Rainbow Dash said. "I litterally had six seconds! Why was I made wingpony!?"

"It was a surprise to me as well Rainbow Dash." Spyro said. "But because Lightning Dust pushed her limits, Spitfire made her Lead Pony."

"And I made you two a pair because I believe you'll both be unstoppable together." Spitfire replied. "Do you think you won't be an unstoppable team?"

"N-no ma'am." Rainbow Dash replied. "We'll be an unstoppable team."

"Then what's the problem?" Spitfire asked.

"I... I just thought I would be made lead pony." Rainbow Dash said.

"Well, because Lightning Dust likes to push her limits, she was made lead pony." Spitfire said. "Got a problem with that?"

Rainbow Dash looked at Spitfire, her ego taking a major hit as she looked depressed, feeling like she was nothing.

"No ma'am." Rainbow Dash replied.

"Good." Spitfire said, getting back to her forms. "Now get out there and report to Lightning Dust. The next exercise will be ready shortly."

Rainbow Dash left the room heartbroken, heaidng out as the door closed, making Spyro worry.

"No offense Spitfire, but I think your decision of making Lightning Dust lead pony was a bad one." Spyro said. "From day one, she didn't show you respect and she got cocky and almost killed herself on the Dizzatron."

"Look, I understand you're trying to be a good colt friend to Rainbow Dash, but my decision is final." Spitfire said. "The recruits must be willing to push their limits. You understand this, don't you?"

"I do understand." Spyro said, looking outside. "I just hope no one gets hurt doing so."

Outside, everyone had assembled to their groups, Lead Ponies with golden badges while Wing Ponies had silver badges, each of them looking excited, but Rainbow Dash was still disppointed that she didn't make the cut, walking over to Lightning Dust and giving a brave smile while secretly sulking.

"Isn't it exciting Rainbow Dash!?" Lightning Dust asked. "Spitfire made us a pair! We're going to smoke the competition."

"Yeah, smoke it." Rainbow Dash said, still disapponted.

"Alright maggots, listen up!" Spyro shouted, getting their attention as he approached. "Today, you'll be participating in a flag hunt. There will be two teams. Team red and team blue." Two assistents came out and presented the flags above the eight ponies, Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust being on the blue team. "Whoever get's the most of the opposing teams flags in the allowed time limit wins first dips on dessert tonight."

Everyone cheered at the aspect of getting the first choice of dessert in the dessert, motivating them to do their best.

"Oh, this is going to be so much fun." The pink pegasi said.

"Heh, you think it's going to be fun, you're sorely mistaken." Spyro said, walking to them as a few attack drones appeared behind him, shaped like stingrays as they had going yellow eyes, spooking the cadets. "These are called Stingray Attack Drones. Had them made to protet my garage at night, but for today, they'll be apart of the exercise. Those badges you're wearing I personally modified to have a counter. You get hit by these things, you'll loose points. Purple Stingrays take one point away, gold ones take away three. This is training cherries, not recess! Get as many of the opposing teams flags and don't get hit! Lead ponies and Wing Ponies fly together, no exceptions! You leave your wing pony behind, it will result in immediate disqualification!"

"Pfft, is that all?" Lightning Dust asked, getting his attention.

"Listen her Ms. Dust, and listen carefully." Spyro said, glaring at her. "Being a Wonderbolt isn't just about being the best. You also have to look out for your team, for if one pony fails, the whole team fails. You must communicate, cooperate, trust, and respect your team, for a team is only as strong as it's weakest link. Or it's more cocky one." Lightning Dust felt her heart skip a beat, feeling a little intimidated, but putting on a brave face as he walked away. "The drones will be hidden throughout the course. They'll hide in clouds, behind rocks, anywhere, so keep an eye out and inform your partner if there is something or if you're injured. Understood?"

"Sir yes sir!" They shouted.

"Good." Spyro replied as several Probe Droids flew out from the clouds. "These are Probe Droids. They'll be monitoring and recording your progress. Nothing will escape my eye, so don't even thing about doing anything cheeky. Ready?" They got their goggles on, getting ready for take off. "GO!"

He blew his whistle and the recruits took off into the air with Rainbiw Dash and Lightning Dust being the first to take off as they began hunting for flags, the two speed demons flying quickly to look around and see if they could find any of the flags, which they were'nt having much luck as Lightning Dust was quickly looking while not paying attention to her surroundings and looking carefully to see if there was one right underneath their noses while Rainbow Dash did her best to keep up.

"See any flags yet?" Lightning Dust asked.

"Not yet." Rainbow Dash replied. A moment later, she spotted one in a small crevice with a couple of logs on top. "There's one!"

"Good eye." Lightning Dust said.

They then took a nose dove down towards the flag, but Rainbow Dash noticed they were going very fast, probably too fast to get through together.

"Uh, don't you think we're going a little fast to get through there together?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"It's fine, we'll make it." Lightning Dust replied. They got closer, but as they did, one of the Stingray's came out and surprised them, firing it's blasters at them. "What the!?"

The two of them spread out as the Stingray made it's attack, going out of it's way as it moved away, Rainbow Dash focusing on it, but then looked down and saw she was too close to the crevice, Lightning Dust folding in and going through while Rainbow Dash hit her wing, injuring herself as Lightning Dust got the flag and took off, Rainbow Dash limping behind her as they landed.

"Lightning Flash and Rainbow Dash have the first flag!" Spyro annouced, noticing Rainbow Dash's banged up wing. "Rainbow, you're hurt."

"Eh, just clipped my wing, that's all." Rainbow Dash replied.

"She's fine." Lightning Dust said. "Come on Rainbow Dash, let's get more flags before the other team get's too far ahead!"

She took off to go and find some more flags, leaving Rainbow Dash behind, which she just sighed, flying after her while her wing was still injured, which Spyro disliked as he watched, making note that Lightning Dust seemed to care only about being the best and succeeding rather than her teammates own well being. Back in Ponyville, Pinkie had been spending her entire time for the past three days at the mailbox, waiting for a letter from Rainbow Dash and Spyro to come and she looked exhausted, her hair was a mess, she looked like she was on the verge of falling asleep, and her friends were all worried about her.

"Is she still at it?" Twilight asked.

"Afraid so darling." Rarity replied.

"Wish there was a way to help her." Fluttershy said.

"Help me!?" Pinkie asked, popping out of a nearby barrel and jumping out. "The only thing that will help me right now is a letter from Rainbow Dash and Spyro! It's been three days already and by now they probably don't even know our names anymore!"

"Pinkie dear, you need to calm down." Rarity said. "You're just saying this because you haven't slept for the last three days. They haven't forgotten us."

"But how do you know that!?"" Pinkie asked. "What if he already found another herd and has forgotten all about us!"

"If you're that worried about them, why don't you send a letter first." Twilight suggested

"That's a great idea!" Pinkie exclaimed, her mane returning to normal anbd making the others breath a sigh of relief. "But wait, that'll take too long. I have an even better idea! What if we send them a care package, before they forget all about us, but it's probably too late for that. I'm sure it'll jog their memories."

"Pinkie, I'm sure they still remember us." Twilight said. "And I think a care package is a wonderful idea."

"Okie dokie lokie then, a Care package it is!" Pinkie said, bouncing to the bakery and making them breath a sigh of relief again before she stopped. "Wait! That won't work at all!" Pinkie turned to them, looking scared. "What if the package gets lost in the mail and somepony else gets it and they remeber who we are instead of Spyro and Rainbow Dash and they become our friends instead of them!? Then they won't remember she had friends and will forget us forever!"

She then fell onto the ground, in the fetal position as she rocked back and forth.

"Anypony else following this?" Applejack asked, whcih her friends shook their heads.

"I got it!" Pinkie said, jumpung into the air. "We deliver the care package ourselves! That way they'll remember us and remember what we look like!"

"A trip to the academy would be lovely idea." Rarity said.

"I'm down for a trip." Twilight said.

"Count me in!" Applejack said. "Plus I think Spyro might need to know about something happening in his garage. AIVA locked it down for some reason."

"Me two." Fluttershy said.

"Then what are we waiting for!?" Pinie asked, rushing over and bringing the balloon back with them. "Just don't be too disappointed in them if they don't remember us right away! Might take them some time to remember us."

The four friends face smacked and rolled their eyes, not believing that Pinkie was still on about that. Back at the academy, Spyro was in Spitfires office, looking out the window giving the report about the recuirts to the captain as she looked it over.

"You sure you aren't being to biased against Lightning Dust?" Spitfire asked.

"For the last few days, she's been nothing but a stuck up solo act." Spyro said. "She didn't care that her wing pony was injured, she left her team behind when I gave them the task of navigating what I called 'The Maze' and she didn't show respect for anyone. You ask me, she's nothing but a loose cannon."

"I hear ya." Spitfire said. "But despite that, she's a decent flier and she's good. She just needs some work."

"I don't think any amount of work will fix her." Spyro said, looking out the window to see the recruits getting ready. "It's almost time for the obstacle course. I better get out there."

"Spyro, before you go, I want to ask you something." Spitfire said, making him stop. "What do you think is the main thing about being a Wonderbolt?"

"Teamwork." Spyro replied. "The Wonderbolts is a team that works together, flies together, sticks together, despite the event. You don't just care about being the best, but you also care about your teammates. You guys are more than just stunt fliers, you are part of a military that protects Equestria when a crisis emerges. You work as a unit, but a unit is only as strong as the weakest link. And that weak link is Lightning Dust."

"Too true Spyro." Spitfire said. "Too true. Though I don't fully agree about your assessment of Lightning Dust, we work together as a unit." She then looked out, seeing the recruits had gathered and were waiting for them. "You better gat out there before the recruits start to fall asleep."

Spyro walked out of the office, leaving Spitfire alone to think about what he said as she got back to signing some forms. Outside, the recruits had gathered for the next training exercise and the bugles sounded, letting them know Spyro had arrived, but Spyro pushed the bugle down, glaring at the pony who sounded it right in his ear, walking to the recruits.

"Listen up cherries." Spyro said. "For today, you'll be going through the Wonderbolts famous obstacle course. Complete with lightning clouds, gale force winds, and even several of my Stingray attack drones. The object of this course is to see if you have what it takes to fly under duress and in difficult situations. Remember, it's not a race. The object is to get through the obstacle course in one piece. Understand?"

"Sir yes sir!" They shouted.

"Then what are you doing standing their!?" Spyro shouted. "Fly you fools, FLY!"

Spyro blew the whistle and they took off into the air, Spyro watching as they went into the air and go through the rings, whcih the first pair got hit by a lightning cloud, litterally running into it while the others went around them, but as Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash got further ahead, another pair blocked their way, making Lightning Dust furious.

"Ugh, why are they going so slow!?" Lightning Dust asked. "I can't get around them."

"It doesn't matter." Rainbow Dash said. "Remember what Spyro said, it's not a race. Besides, we can still fly in sync and blow Spitfires mind with our moves." She then looked over to one of the probes that was observing everything. "Spyro shows the results and the recordings to Spitfire anyway, so it doesn't matter if we're first or not."

"I guess." Lightning Dust said. They flew to the rings, she and Rainbow Dash doing some loopy loops as the first pair ahead of them flew through, reaching storm clouds that had some strong winds, making them struggle to push through. "What are they, a couple of snails?"

However, a moment later, there was some light that came from the clouds and those lights were the Stingray attack drones, coming at them in formation.

"Stingrays!" Rainbow Dash shouted.

The drones opened fired, firing yellow stun bolts at the group, causing them to break up as they flew out of the clouds and to some contraptions that created gale force winds.

"There, that's our chance to pass them!" Lightning Dust said.

They flew faster, Rainbow Dash going over to pass them, but Lightning Dust went through them, causing the pair in front of them to fly out of control and pile up with the others in the back, making them crash into a nearby cloud with several of the drones floating down and getting fired upon with the stun bolts. Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust were reaching the finish line, going faster and faster until they landed on the run way, running up to Spyro as he stopped the watch.

"Nice going." Spyro said. "And in record time too." Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash were smiling, proud of themselves for reaching the end. "But I'm going to have to dock points from the both of you for the stunt you pulled at the Gale Force Winds."

"What, why!?" Lightning Dust exclaimed. "We did great!"

"Maybe, but you also caused the other recruits to spin out." Spyro said, looking to them and seeing them waking up from being hit by stun bolts. "There was more than enough room for you to go around. You could have gone over or under them to pass, which Rainbow Dash was doing, so points to her for that." Rainbow Dash smiled to herself, pleased with herself. "But you lightning Dust went through them, making them spin out and leaving them as sitting ducks for the drones."

"And why should I be worried about that?" Lightning Dust asked.

"Being a Wonderbolt isn't about being the best." Spyro said, walking past them. "The Wonderbolts is a military unit, who answers the call when a crisis arises in Equestria, and they work as a team, not as solo act."

"And how would you know what a Wonderbolt is all about?" Lightning Dust asked. "You're not even a real Wonderbolt."

"Don't test my patients Dust." Spyro said, zipping over and getting in her face, making her flinch a bit. "I may not be a Wonderbolt, but I know what it takes to be apart of a team. And thats what you recruits are, a team. And a team is only as strong as it's weakest link." He got out of her face and walked away, looking up as he spread his wings to fly. "I'm going to go clean up the mess you caused Dust. Go to the mess hall and get something to eat. The next exercise will be soon."

He took off to go and help the recruits out and get them back on their hooves while Rainbow Dash went to get something to eat, but Lightning Dust was glarring at Spyro, starting to resent him as she went to the mess hall to get something to eat. After getting the recruits up, Spyro presented the results to Spitfire, who saw the video and looked concerned.

"Ok, I admit, that was reckless." Spitfire said, the hologram disappearing. "But they busted the course record."

"She's out of control." Spyro said. "She disregarded the safety of the other recruits and could have gotten them killed if they didn't fall into the clouds. I'm sorry Spitfire, but she's got to go."

"Look, I understand you want to keep the recruits safe." Spitfire said. "But she's got potential. She's still young, like us, and both she and Rainbow Dash have been busted academy records. With a little work, we can buff out those dents and she'll be better than before."

"I hope you're right." Spyro said, walking out. "But if she pulls another stunt like that, something needs to be done."

"Don't worry about her Spyro." Spitfire said. "I'll deal with her if anything happens." Spyro dubted it as Spitfire seemed only interested in records and in how much potential that Lightning Dust has. "Now the next exercise is about to begin. And try not to use the Stingrays this time. Knocked the recruits out for a few hours. And what the heck are those bolts anyway? One of my instructors wanted to know how it felt and he's still out."

"They're just a special type of plasma bolt that leaves the target incapacitated by overloading the nervous system, causing a temporary black out to the victim by overloading the cerebral cortex, causing them to fall into unconciousness." Spyro replied, confusing Spitfire as she cleaned her glasses.

"Dude, I was barely able to pass high school." Spitfire said.

"Basically, it means you get hit by it, your nerves overload, knocking you out for a short time." Spyro replied.

"Well why didn ya say so in the first place?" Spitfire asked, making Spyro groan as he left, making the captasin laugh to herself as he left.

In the mess hall, Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash had just finished eating as they were heading out for the next exercise, but Dust was fuming after being chewed out by Spyro while Rainbow Dash looked worried.

"Who the heck does he think he is!?" Lightning Dust asked, looking very angry. "He maybe an instructor, but that doesn't give him the right to go disrespecting me like that!"

"Actually Lightning Dust-" Rainbow Dash started to say before being interrupted.

"It's not my fault that we're so much better than those other slow pokes!" Lightning Dust continued. "And it's certainly not my fault that we're the best! I mean, 'a team?' Really? If you want to be a Wonderbolt, you gotta do whatever it takes to be the best, hooves down!"

Rainbow Dash was starting to grow more and more anxious, starting to see that Lightning Dust was showing her true colors as they came out with the other recruits, Spyro standing in the middle of the field and encircling him.

"Alright cherries, listen up." Spyro said. "Today's exercise is a team exercise. That means you work together while remaining with your wing and lead ponies. You're going to be clearing the skies for the Wonderbolts training exercise today and no, this is not a competition. You work together to clear the skies before dinner. We will be keeping track of how many clouds each air get rid of, but remember, together as a team."

"Pfft, childs play." Lightning Dust said. "And are those Stingrays going to be there to jump out and hit us?"

"Not this time." Spyro replied. "The Stingrays will not be available this time as they're being sent back for some updates. Any further questions?"

"No sir!" They exclaimed.

"Good." Spyro replied. "And remember, as a team. No solo acts and nothing reckless. Now go!"

They spread their wings and took off into the air and went in seperate directions, each pair going about hitting the clouds to get rid of them all the while the assistants were keeping track of how many clouds each pair got rid of the clouds, which Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash, to no one's surprise, was in the lead, taking down the dozens of clouds at once when the two got together, Lightning Dust having an idea.

"Hey, I got an idea to litterally blow the competition away." Lightning Dust said.

Rainbow Dash looked to the other ponies, seeing them taking down the clouds at a slower pace than them.

"But, we're already way ahead of them." Rainbow Dash said. "Plus, Spyro said this was a team exercise, not a solo act."

"Yeah, I don't care what he says!" Lightning Dust said. "He maybe a prince, but he doesn't know how to push the limit! He's nothing more than a scaredy cat!"

"Scaredy cat!?" Rainbow Dash asked, yanking on her tail. "Spyro is many things, but scared isn't one of them! He also always pushes his limits! Those bracers he wears helps him train!"

"Oh yeah, for what?" Lightning Dust asked. "The 'How to pamper the loosers group?'" As they were arguing, the shadows underneath the clouds and around them were starting to move, red eyes appearing from the clouds as they started to detatch, turning into Unversed. "Look at reasonRainbow! He's holding us back because he doesn't want us to succeed! His rules and speeches about 'teamwork,' that is not what a Wonderbolt is about! You gotta be willing to be the best and do better than others!" Rainbow Dash was starting to get fed up with her new 'friend' and was about to knock her around when she looked behind her, seeing Axe Flappers and Archravens, her eyes widening when she saw them. "Now either we do what I have planned or-"

"Unversed!" Rainbow Dash shouted.

She pushed Lightning Dust out of the way and called her Keyblade, blocking an attack and swinging, taking out multiple Unversed while Lightning Dust was looking at her teammate in shock, seeing she had a Keyblade before looking at the Unversed. As they approached in a large group, they were getting ready to swarm them when a storm of lightning appeared, electrocuting dozens of Unversed and looking down to see Spyro flying towards them, calling his blade as lightning surrounded it and threw the blade, going through the center and destroying more Unversed.

"Lightning Dust, get to safety!" Spyro said. "Rainbow Dash, you're with me! Let's bust some Unversed."

"Oh, you have no idea how much I wanted to beat something up!" Rainbow Dash said.

The two Keyblade warriors flew off and engaged the Unversed, cutting through them while using the clouds for cover, flying behind them as the Unversed flew after them to get them, but as Rainbow Dash flew behind the cloud, Spyro would dash out, covered in fire and destroying them before opening his mouth and unleashing a torrent of ice, freezing others before Rainbow Dash cut through them, all of them turning into dust. As they fought, Lightning Dust was left speechless at how well they were fighting together, but then looked back, seeing they were falling behind, growing nervous as she looked to Rainbow Dash, getting an idea as she flew up.

"Rainbow, Rainbow!" Lightning Dust shouted, flying upt o her as she took out another Axe Flapper. "Remember that idea I had for the clouds?"

"Yeah?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Well, what if we did it, except it will destroy these things along with the clouds." Lightning Dust said. "We make a massive tornado and it sucks in all these things and the clouds, destroying all of them."

"I don't know." Rainbow Dash said.

"Look, you want to be the best or not!?" Lightning Dust asked.

"I do." Rainbiow Dash replied. "But not at the expense of-"

"Then quit whining and let's do it already!" Lightning Dust said. "I'm the lead pony and we do it my way!"

She then took off, whether Rainbow Dash was coming or not before following Lightning Dust as they found open ground, creating a large tornado that was growing larger and larger as they flew around, sending it flying while staying inside to control it, but a moment later, Lightning Dust was starting to loose control, wobbling as the tornado was getting out of control.

"I... I can't control it!" Lightning Dust exclaimed.

She then lost complete comtrol, being flung out along with Rainbow Dash as it went wherever it wanted, going across the compound while causing other ponies to flee from it, Spyro still going through the Unversed when he saw a few get sucked away, looking to where they went when he saw the Tornado, his eyes widening as he fought to stay out of it.

"Where the heck did this thing came from!?" Spyro asked.

He was then sucked in and was spinning around, he and the Unversed spinning out of control as the tornado went around causing complete devastation as he was flung out, all the while the rest of the Mane 6 was coming up in the balloon to bring the care package to make Pinkie calm down, but as they came up, the tornado came at them, shocking them.

"Twister!" Applejack shouted.

"Hold on!" Twilight exclaimed.

The balloon was then sucked in as the Unversed was being flung out, getting destroyed one by one as Spyro and Rainbow Dash got up, but a second later, the balloons basket snapped off and was thrown out, making the ponies scream as they fell.

"NO!" Rainbow Dash shouted.

"GIRLS!" Spyro exclaimed.

Both he and Rainbow Dash flew down after them, taking a shortcut to get to them as Spyro flew up, glowing purple while Rainbow Dash brought multiple clouds together, spinning around them to allow the ponies to land on them and spring them up into the air, makignt hem continue to scream but before they could fall again, Spyro appeared again, this time in his dragon form, the ponies landing on his back. Spyro flew dwn and landed on the runway, letting them get off his back as he reverted back to his pony forn, grateful they were alright.

"Is everypony alright!?" Spyro asked, running up to them.

"Yeah, we're fine sugarcube." Applejack said, running up and hugging them.

"Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

Spyro turned back to see their friend was on the ground, looking up as she looked happy as her eyes teared up, tackling them both and giving them a bear hug.

"You... remembered me!" Pinkie said happily.

"How the heck could we forget you little cupcake?" Spyro asked, nibbling her ear and making her giggle. "But why are you girls here?"

"We wanted to bring ya both a care package." Applejack replied. "Didn't think you'd be in the middle of a crazy torando drill."

"That wasn't planned" Spyro replied.

"That... was... awesome!" Lightning Dust said. "Did you see how the tornado got the clouds and those monsters Rainbow Dash? We did great."

"That was you!?" Spyro exclaimed, clearly annoyed. "What the heck were you thinking!? Our friends could have gotten hurt!"

"Yeah, but they didn't, did they?" Lightning Dust asked.

"Do you have a complete disregard for the safety of others!?" Spyro shouted, his eyes turning to sith eyes. "Not only could that tornado have hurt your fellow recruits, but it nearly killed my herd!"

"Yeah Lightning, what's your deal?" Thunderlane asked. "Ya think you're so much better that you willingly put others in harm just to satify your own ego?"

"Not only did you knock us down, you didn't even apologize for it!" The pink Pegasi said.

"So what!?" Lightning Dust asked. "To be the best, you got to do what's necessary! If it means smoking the competition, then so be it! Speaking of smoking, the clouds were completely blown away. The others will need to do better to beat us!"

"You serious!?" Rainbow Dash shouted, tempers flaring as it went on. "You made me clip my wing, you sent half of our class spinning out and getting stunned by the Stingrays, you even had the hair brain idea that a tornado would be good enough to destroy the tornadoes and the Unversed while loosing control!"

"Wait, the unversed were here?" Twilight asked, looking around. "But... where's Vanitas?"

"I get you want to be the best, but you're going about it the wrong way!" Rainbow Dash continued.

However, as the argument went on, dark storm clouds were gathering overhead as red lightning was arching inside, Spyro looking up and knowing that it couldn't be good.

"Well the Wonderbolts don't seem to think so!" Lightning Dust shouted back. "Afterall, Spitfire made me the lead pony and you the wing pony! Goes to show whose better in this entire class! You're not even worthy of being a Wonderbolt! You're not even worthy of even being here!"

Lightning Dust then threw her hoof, hitting Rainbow Dash while the brooch fell off and hit the ground, making Rainbow Dash fall. Spyro was about ready to jump in and tear the pegasi apart, having had enough of her when the lightning hit the ground, getting everyone to look up and see the clouds swirling around as the symbol for the Unversed appeared in the cloud, going in as two massive wings sprout out and flapped, revealing a dragon-like Unversed, but with two massive wings and two hind legs, colored red with black lines going across it's entire body and a V-shaped head with the Unversed symbol on it's head.

"Ok that one's new." Spyro said.

The massive Unverse roared out and unleashed a torrent of red lightning, hitting the ground and traveling across the field and into a building, blowing it up and getting all the pegasi to flee.

"What in tarnation is that thing!?" Applejack asked.

"You're asking me!?" Spyro asked, dodging the attack. "This Unversed I've never seen before!"

"Then how do we beat it!?" Rarity asked.

"Rainbow, fusion time!" Spyro shouted. "It's the only way!"

"Alright, let's do it!" Rainbow Dash shouted back.

The two ponies stood side by side, two golden domes appearing around them as the others looked to see who'd be fusing with them, but no one else was chosen, so the domes shattered and a cyan colored pillar shot into the air as a Purple dragon roared out, going up the pillar and causing a large explosion, blinding everyone watching as a dull colored pony levitated down, hovering in the air, not moving. The Unversed believed it to be an easy target, so turned it's attention to it, but from behind buildings, the ground and the air, rainbow colored pegasi and dragons charged towards the Unversed, attacking it as they passed by, cutting, burning, and hitting it with all sorts of elemental attacks until they went charging towards the pony as he looked up, circling him as they went into the armor one at a time, bringing color to it.

The armor was fully colored again as cyan and purple mixed into the armor while a rainbow mane shot out and rainbow colored wings appeared, the colorful feathers granting the pony flight as the combined keyblades appeared again, flying on either side of the pony as he flew towards the dragon. It opened it's mouth to do some damage, but Spyro was too quick, mooving with incredible speed as a rainbow and purple trail was left behind, flying up and flapping his wings hard and unleashing several feathers that flew towards the Unversed, exploding on contact and making it howl in pain as he sped by, slashing and cutting through it, moving too quickly for the creature to get a hit in, firing a stream ofeletricity in every direction to hit him, but it kept missing him. Getting furious, it started to glow red as it unleashed a storm of eletricity from it's body, sending it in random directions to hit him, But Spyro started to spin around the unversed, creating another twister, but this time, it was easily controlable as he was able to match the speed of the twister, making the dragon spin around as the elerticity bounced off the twister and hitting the dragon instead. A moment later, the Keyblade warrior started to glow brightly, flying into the air and splitting into six different versions of himself, each glowing a different color, connecting the combined Keyblade as the Unversed looked up, unleashing more eletricity towards the copies, but the copies just spun the blade, blocking the eletricity until each of them passed through, cutting through the Unversed and leaving a different colored cut as it roared in pain, exploding in a flurry of different colors as Spyro landed, the copies fusing back together as the Unversed was destroyed.

"Wooh doggy Spyro, ya never cease to amaze!" Applejack said.

"Yeah, you took that thing down like it was nothing!" One of the recruits said.

"Thanks everyone." Spyro said, looking to Lightning Dust as she didn't seem to care, flying off to get some food. "It was nothing." he then looked to Lightning Dust, who didn't seem to care and was already leaving in the direction of the mess hall, making up his mind. "But unfortunately, I can't stay anymore."

"Me neither." Rainbow Dash said, talking through Rainbow Dash.

A while later after they defused, both Rainbow Dash and Spyro walked to Spitfires office, knocking on the door before being allowed to enter, entering and Spitfire looking up to see Rainbow Dash and Spyro, except the prince wasn't wearing the uniform anymore.

"This had better be important." Spitfire said, both of them walking up to Spitfire. "You're supposed to be up there busting clouds with your partner."

"It's already done ma'am." Rainbow Dash said.

"Really?" Spitfire asked, looking at the clock. "That's an academy record. Care to explain how you did it so quickly."

"That's the issue Spitfire." Spyro said. "Lightning Dust decided to use a tornado."

"A tornado?" Spitfire asked. "Hmm, a bit excessive, but judging by the time, it was effective."

"Yeah well that effective tactic nearly killed my friends and caused a serious argument that got the attention of the Unversed!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"Unversed?" Spitfire asked, looking to Spyro for an explination.

"They're monsters that are drawn to places that have a large abundance of negative energy caused by negative emotions." Spyro replied. "In this case, anger. Tempers were flying out there, bringing out Archravens, Axe Flappers, and a new Unversed I've never seen before."

"And no offense ma'am, but there is a huge difference from pushing yourself and just being reckless." Rainbow Dash continued. "And if being reckless is what's rewarded here, if that's what it means to be a Wonderbolt, then i don't want any part of it."

"What are you saying newbie?" Spitfire asked, not getting it.

She then understood a second later when Rainbow Dash placed the brooche on the desk, indicating she had enough.

"I quit." Rainbow Dash replied.

She then walked out of the office, leaving Spitfire stunned and a moment later, Spyro put the uniform on the desk, showing he had enough as well.

"That goes double for me." Spyro said. "I'm not going to stay if being reckless is allowed here and putting lives in danger gets results. Train them on your own."

Spyro then walked out of the office, leaving Spitfire alone and completely stunned by what just happened as she looked at the uniform and the medal, thinking it over before taking the uniform and the medal, running out of the office to catch up with them. Outside, Rainbow Dash had already packed her saddle bags and was ready to go as her friends were there.

"You did what!?" Applejack asked.

"She quit." Spyro replied, walking up with his stuff.

"But being a Wonderbolt is your dream!" Rairty said.

"Not if it means putting others in danger." Rainbow Dash replied. "If being reckless is what it takes, and putting others live in danger is rewarded, then being a Wonderbolt is no longer my dream."

"I'm sorry Rainbow Dash." Twilight said. "I know how much this meant to you and how hard it was to give it up."

"She made the right call." Spyro said, walking over. "It's alright to show off from time to time, but being reckless and nearly killing others, that's just not acceptable. And if the Wonderbolts are willing to let this happen, then it's not worth it. Besides..." Spyro walked up and hugged Rainbow Dash, whcih she didn't try to fight as he smiled. "She'll always be a Wonderbolt to me."

Rainbow Dash then smiled, a tear rolling down the cheek and hugging back as the rest of their friends hugged her as well, having one of the most touchign moments ever.

"Rainbow Dash!" Spitfire said, trotting over. "You got some nerve storming out of my office without letting me respond. The Wonderbolts are looking for the best fliers in Equestria, but the both of you are right." Spitfire then removed her glasses, looking at them eye to eye without them on. "Becoming the best should never come at the expense of our fellow ponies. It's not just about pushing ourselves, but doing it in the right direction. You've shown you were capable of doing that." She then turned to Lightning Dust, who a couple of the assistants had her inbetween them, taking the medal off of her and indicating she was out, leaving her heart broken as the assistants escorted her out. "You're definitely no Wind Pony Rainbow Dash, but a leader."

Spitfire then put the gold medal on her, giving her ther biggest smile ever.

"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, clearly excited.

She was clearly beyond happy as she flew up, rejoining her fellow classmates as Spitfire walked over to Spyro.

"And you, you're highness, you've shown me that we're clearly outmatched when it comes to these things." Spitfire said. "I guess you know more about what it means to work as a team than we do."

She then presented the uniform to Spyro, confusing him as he took it.

"But... I don't understand." Spyro said.

"We'd like for you to stay on." Spitfire said. "Finish up training the recruits as you know what it takes to work as a team and know your stuff. The recruits could learn a thing or two from you. And maybe someday, the Wonderbolts may as well."

Spyro looked at the uniform and then back at Spitfire, smiling as he started to spin, making a mini twister and coming out wearing the uniform, smiling.

"Alright Spitfire, I'll stay." Spyro replied, looking at the recruits.

He then took off and flew up next to Rainbow Dash, both recieving salutes from them as they saluted back, flying off with them to continue their training.

"WAIT!" PInkie shouted, hlding a ruined package. "YOU BOTH FORGOT YOUR CARE PACKAGE!"

Back at the garage, AIVA had finally noticed the piece of ice, which had formed into a portal frame, made into a circle with jagged pieces of ice portruding from the frame, opening and allowing for a winter storm to blow through and freeze some of the garage, but AIVA activated containment protocols, lowering a metal frame over the portal and activating a laser barrier around the portal, lifting it up and carrying it to the middle of the room.

"Containment successful." AIVA said. "Analyzing! Error: 404, page not found! Unknown portal not identified! Contacting the prince now! Subject: Unidentified Rift."
