After fighting over the book, Ace and Luffy realized it was all in vain. "Do you even know how to read, Ace, Luffy?!" Sabo shouted, making both Ace and Luffy realize that having the book was useless if they couldn't read it.

"Don't fight, I can buy two more." Palila said, separating the three, while Sabo stood next to Palila with a frown. "And as for the other problem, I've already got that sorted," Palila confessed with a mischievous smile.

Apparently, living in the Calm Belt has its advantages, especially if you can fly over it without fear of sea kings or the Marines.

It wasn't difficult for Palila to enroll the kids in a school on an island with no Marine presence, near the Calm Belt. This change was only a bit bitter for Ace, who had never received a proper education. He was having a hard time, struggling to socialize and learn because he was so behind.

"School isn't so bad, even Luffy is having a bit of trouble but that doesn't stop him from enjoying it," Sabo pointed to where his little brother was supposed to be. And that was when they realized Luffy wasn't there.

The two started looking for him, only to hear the sound of a loud explosion.

Some time later.

Palila was in front of the school principal, who kept glaring angrily at Luffy, and consequently at Ace and Sabo.

During recess, Luffy had sneaked into one of the labs for the upper courses, where he mixed the wrong chemicals causing an explosion.

"I don't want to see you here again, not even as a joke," the principal stated, expelling the three regardless of the fact that the accident was solely Luffy's fault.

"Don't worry, we'll do homeschooling," Palila affirmed while taking them back home. She wasn't going to give up so easily.

She spent her days helping Luffy with his language and learning problems. Over time, she discovered that the best way to make him learn something was through the use of food or Prince.

For example: How many pieces of meat are there if I ate 6?

Sabo, on the other hand, had the freedom to study more advanced topics like cartography, which interested him a lot. Ace was finally able to start from scratch, wondering how his mother hadn't lost her sanity yet.
