The Lyoko-Fighters

This is my first Code Lyoko AU fic. It happens during the 35th episode of Code Lyoko which I hate, because of the way Ulrich was treated by his own friends, even by Yumi who was really an ungrateful, rude bitch and Jeremy who was a real hypocrite in this episode.

In this AU fic, there will have new characters: the Lyoko-Fighters. It is also inspired of another Code Lyoko fic called "What if there was another?" written by MasterRoku 1776.

The Lyoko-Fighters is a gang of five high school students who moved from America to Europe, because one of them lives there and has a "special" bond with Aelita.

Well, I'll tell you all in the end of the first chapter. Enjoy it.

Disclaimer: I don't own Code Lyoko and its characters. The Lyoko-Fighters belong to me.

Chapter 1: New meeting and new friends

"Here, you can take back your dumb ticket. My parents think you should keep the money."

"As for now, until you hear otherwise, you're out of the group, Ulrich."

"I hope this will all work out."

These words echoed in Ulrich's mind as he knelt down to pick up the crumpled lottery ticket that he won to give it to Yumi's family after using a Return to the Past and that he got just kicked out of the gang because of it.

Recalling the way his now former friends had treated him, Ulrich couldn't help but felt betrayed and abandoned. Sure, he used a return to the past without telling them, but he just wanted to help Yumi and her family. But now, his friends had rejected him and left him on his own. With a heavy heart, Ulrich glanced at the lottery ticket, wondering what he would do with it now that Yumi had returned it to him by throwing it on the ground.

While glancing at the ticket, he felt somebody walking toward him. It was Sissi.

"Hey, what's up, Ulrich? You don't look good", Sissi said.

Without glancing at her, Ulrich got up on his feet, putting the lottery ticket in his pocket.

"None of your business, Sissi. Leave me alone. I'm not in mood to talk." He said dryly as he started to walk away, Sissi, however, looked offended.

"Hey! Wait, Ulrich! Where are you going like this?! I want to help you! I saw what happened between you and your friends!" Sissi exclaimed.

These words struck a chord in Ulrich, one that made him frown in anger, sadness and resentment.

"They're not my friends anymore, Sissi," replied Ulrich while walking away from Sissi. "Now, leave me alone!"

Ulrich's harsh words deeply touched Sissi as she stood immobilized, totally in disbelief that Ulrich yelled at her like that. She remained speechless and motionless that she didn't notice Herb and Nicholas coming to her, asking her if she was okay, but they got nothing from the shocked girl. Not so far from the place Sissi and her goons were standing, five high school students were watching what was happening. They had witnessed of Ulrich's expulsion from his friends' group and how he had just rebuffed Sissi. The five high school students looked at each other and then nodded before following Ulrich as the latter was making his way to the woods, unaware of being followed behind.

As Ulrich walked through the woods, he saw a big tree and sat down beside it. Now that he was sitting, he looked up at the sky with a sad face, thinking about what happened and wondering what he was going to do now that his former friends didn't want him anymore. Sighing, he looked down at the grass as the wind blew through his brown hair.

"Maybe I can make some new friends," he said to himself.

As he said that to himself, a snap was heard from the bushes, causing Ulrich to jump in alert. "Who's there? Show yourself!"

Then the bushes rustled a bit more when five figures showed up. They were the five high school students that followed him from behind: three boys and two girls.

The first of the three boys was a brown haired and grey eyed American with Irish descendant as he was slightly tan skinned, wearing in a white t-shirt, a dark red jacket, jeans and black sneakers. The second one was frizzy red haired and green eyed with freckles on his face. He wore a yellow hoodie with a white t-shirt under near, blue pants and red shoes. Finally, the last boy was a tall Afro-American with deep brown hair and eyes with rectangular eyeglasses. He wore a greenish white shirt with a dark green vest, light brown pants and gray shoes. He looked like a genius like Jeremy.

One of the two girls was fair skinned with long dark slate hair held as a ponytail with pretty light blue eyes. She wore a white bandana above her head, a dark grey vest, a pale lavender blue skirt, black leggings, small black socks and white shoes with light pink designs.

And finally, the second and last girl was tan skinned with Spanish origins. She had short auburn haired with magenta colored locks and brown eyed. She had two magenta large earrings and a black ribbon around her neck. She wore a pale pink under-sweater with a gray sweater on, a dark jean and maroon shoes who gazed at Ulrich softly as the boy still looked wary.

It was a tense silence until the frizzy red haired boy made a first move.

"Sorry, we didn't mean to scare you off, Ulrich," said the red haired boy sheepishly while rubbing his head. Ulrich was surprised that he knew his name, but he remained on his guards.

The tanned Spanish girl turned to the red haired boy.

"Chip, stop." She said before turning to Ulrich and started to speak softly. "Don't be afraid, Ulrich, we're not here to bully you. Especially after what your former friends did to you."

Ulrich was now shocked. Did they see and hear the whole thing between him and his former friends? Did they hear something about like XANA or return to the past?

Panic started to rise up in his chest, fearing the secret might be exploded. However, the older brown haired boy made his way to him and put his hand on the Ulrich's shoulder to calm him down.

"Calm down, we already know about Lyoko and XANA." He said calmly. "Besides, we saw what happened between you and the others and we think it wasn't right from them to ditch you like that. They could have just talked it out with you." He added.

"Also, we think you made the right thing by trying to help that girl Yumi, even though you knew the risks of returning to the past." Stated the tall Afro-American.

"But seeing how she treated you, I don't think you deserved that from her, that ungrateful little brat," said the Spanish girl with venom in her voice.

"Yeah, we wonder if they come crawling back to you when XANA makes an attack and that they realize they really need your help on Lyoko to beat him." Said Chip while narrowing his green eyes.

Ulrich couldn't believe in his eyes, these five high school students really knew about Lyoko, XANA and his argument with his former friends. But still, he was wary of them, fearing the five students were possessed by XANA and that they could lead him to a trap, even though he was the one who made XANA stronger by setting off a return to the past.

"Who are you guys and how do you know about Lyoko and XANA? Besides, what do you want from me?" He asked.

"We're here to help you, Ulrich. Since you're on your own, we think it was unfair and selfish from them, to ditch you like that. So we would like you join us." Explained the Spanish girl while the others nodded.

However, Ulrich didn't seem to be convinced.

"And why do I have to trust you guys?" He asked. He wanted to believe them, but on the other hand, it could be a trap of XANA. The bandana girl of the group walked to him and gently touched his forehead with her hand, causing Ulrich to jump in surprise as he blushed a bit by her sweet touch.

"No, we're not possessed; we're saying the truth. We really know the existence of Lyoko and XANA." She said kindly as her blue eyes sparkled with softness. "Because, like you and your former friends, we're fighting XANA. So, do you believe us now?"

Ulrich closed his eyes for a moment, part of him told him not to trust them, while the other told him to follow his heart. After a moment of thinking, he opened his eyes and looked up at the five high school students and said his answer.

"Okay, I believe you guys and I accept to join in your group." Said Ulrich. The five high school students smiled at him, happy that he accepted. "But what are your names?"

The older brown haired boy started to speak. "My name is Peter Flanagan. I'm the leader of the Lyoko Fighters and here are my friends." Started Peter while introducing himself and his friends to Ulrich. "Here's Maxwell Blake, the brain of the team, he's also touchy and he likes we call him Max for short."

"Hi," greeted Max with a friendly smile while adjusting his eyeglasses, although he looked a bit offended.

"Him, that's Christopher Thorne, Chip for short. He likes joking and goofing around, but he's nice to hang out with." Said Peter as he introduced Ulrich to Chip who waved his hand at him.

"Yup, welcome to the gang", said Chip nicely.

Peter then turned to the two girls.

"And finally, they are Valeria Garcia, the tough, but caring tomboy, and Lucia Dubois, the sweetest of our gang." Said Peter as he and Lucia looked at each other with a faint blush on their cheeks, causing the others to snicker a bit.

"That's right, Pete", said Valeria with a grin as she turned to Ulrich before speaking softly. "You're safe with us, Ulrich. We promise to never let you down."

Ulrich smiled a bit at his new friends, yet he was still hurt by his former friends then he looked down, causing Valeria to pat his shoulder to comfort him.

"Hey, cheer up, it's gonna be fine." Said Valeria gently while patting the boy's looked down at his feet for a moment, and then he gazed up at his new friends with a tiny smile.

"Yeah, I'll get over it", said Ulrich. "So, what do we do now?"

Chip's face brightened."We're taking you to our secret place," started Chip with a grin as he wrapped his arm around Ulrich. "We're going to show you how it looks like."

Ulrich looked interested now when Chip mentioned their secret place.

"Yeah," said Max, "we're showing you a place that only the five of us and now you know about. There, we will answer your questions and the reason we're here in Paris. But on one condition, you won't tell anyone about what we tell you, not even your former friends." He finished explaining with a serious look. Ulrich looked at them and nodded, meaning he accepted the condition.

"Okay, I won't say anything." He said.

"Great," said Peter with a grin, "now let's go."

They were about to leave when Ulrich stopped them.

"Wait, we're not using the sewers?" He asked, looking confused while the five high school students turned him before kindly chuckling at their new friend's question.

"Nope, we don't need to go through the sewers." Said Peter.

Ulrich now looked more puzzled. "Huh?"

"What Peter means is we have a car that we use to go whatever we want to, even to the place we're taking you to." Explained Lucia.

Ulrich looked astonished. His new friends had their own car to go whatever they wanted to.

"Wow", he said, looking impressed.

The five high school students grinned at him as they all left the woods and returned to school to get to their car.

Once at the Kadic's car park, they made their way to a white van. Max pulled out a key and clicked on it, making the van to turn on. Peter and Chip opened two doors of the van, inside there was six passenger seats; three in the front and three more in the back. Peter, Max and Valeria sat in the front, Max at the wheel. As for Ulrich, Chip and Lucia, they were sitting behind.

"Well, ready?" Asked Max. The others looked at them, then turned to Max with nod before saying: "Ready".

Max grinned, "Alright then."

With it, Max started up the van and drove it. The van left the car park of the school, then drove through all the city. Ulrich looked at the city's buildings through the van's window on the right, lost in thoughts. He secretly wondered if he had made the right choice to follow them. But the more he thought of his former friends and the way they treated him and kicked him out of the group, the more made him realize he had to keep going to follow his choice. He looked at the houses thoughtfully through the van's window that his eyes widened upon seeing Yumi's house.

Thinking of Yumi made him felt more hurt when he recalled the way she treated him. When she threw the lottery ticket on the ground, she broke his heart as well. Feelings of sadness, anger and resentment made him stop loving Yumi after what she did to him. Perhaps it was better for him to think someone else, but not Sissi, than wasting his time to tell his feelings to a girl who was nothing but ungrateful, whiny, cold and mean to him.

Lucia looked at him and saw his face, making her heart ache for him while understanding what he was thinking. She gently patted his shoulder, causing Ulrich turn to her as Lucia smiled at him softly while comforting him. Ulrich smiled at her a little, appreciating her gesture to comfort him.

The van kept driving through the city until it reached to its destination; an old abandoned warehouse. Max stopped the van as everyone stepped out of the van. Ulrich looked at the warehouse in awe, yet very puzzled.

"Wow", he said before turning to his new friends. "So, where are we?"

"This is our secret place, Ulrich: the warehouse." Answered Max.

Ulrich looked surprised as he and the others stood in front of the warehouse.

A new life with new friends was about to start for him.
