Pahkitew Island reacts to Revenge of the Island
Episode 5- Break for the good
"I'm gonna snap that twig arm if he tries any of that again" Jasmine grunted, scrubbing her hat with a sponge.
"Here, try with the white soap now" Shawn said, handing her the soap bar.
"Thanks" the australian said "So much for this being a calm night"
"I felt something was bound to blow up. I just didn't think it would be like that" Shawn admitted.
"Whit how whiny Dave is? I'm surprised i didn't get sick of him earlier" She said, which made Shawn look at her worried.
"Don't you think you were' a bit… too harsh" The conspiranoic asked
"What? He's the one who started" Jasmine said
"Jas. You're my girlfriend. And you know i would jump into a shark infested pit for you if necessary" Shawn said "But you were the one constantly saying stuff to him, directly or not"
"Well… he deserves it for the stuff he did"
"Look. I'm not saying what Dave did all those years back it's okey, it isn't. But I genuinely think he regrets it" Shawn said "Besides. He does have a point that you didn't have to get between him and Sky"
"I made her doge a bullet"
"And you think Sky thinks that? Cause they looked pretty fine being side by side" Shawn said "I'm not asking you to be friends with Dave. But maybe, you should stop and consider why he reacted like that"
"You should be on my side"
"I am" Shawn said, offended "But that doesnt mean I can't speak if I feel something isn't black and white. I dont think you're the one to blame fully. But everyone here played a role, one way or another. Even me"
"That does not justify Dave lack of responsibility"
"He approached me. He apologized cause he felt he was a shit friend" Shawn said "If that's lack of responsibility. I'll hate to see what's victim blaming"
They hear a knock on the door.
"Guys, i have some clean clothes" Sammy said from outside
"Come in Sheila" Jasmine said. With Sammy handing Shawn an oversized red shirt and black pants.
"Thanks. But i would appreciate if you two left me to change-"
"But-" Shawn was about to say
"Shawn please" Jasmine said, to which he nodded "Thanks"
Shawn closed the door and sighed.
"You just cutted a talk" Shawn said
"I know" Sammy said with a bit of shame "I was hearing. And i had fear it could get heated, which is the last thing we need right now"
"I just… this Is all my fault" Shawn sighed "If i wasn't so consumed by my phobia. I would have never left for too long, which would have made that Dave never told me the other team were' zombies since we needed to make a comeback"
"That doesn't justify Dave eventual snap, nor Jasmine getting between them" Sammy said "Like you said, everyone has some kind of blame there"
"I just hope this can be fixed" He grunted
Sammy patted him on his back. While Rodney placed a new table.
"Good thing the one that got broken was the toy table Ella brought" The farmer said while Beardo placed the remaining sodas and new cups.
"Hopefully these will still have some gas for latter" Beardo said
"I'm starting to think this wasn't as good of an idea" Max said
"I stated this has very low chances of working" Scarlett said
"Yet you choose to stay" Max said "A very… peculiar move from you part"
"I merely was intrigued to see if this social experiment could be successful" The redhead dismissed
"Whit your history with all of us? It's still very illogical" He said
"What's your excuse? Where's your whole moniker of 'ruler of the world', your eeeevillaugh, you calling me 'sidekick' despite me doing all the work" Scarlett inquired with some resentment.
"I… simply don't desire that anymore. It has brought me nothing but humiliation and pain… at least it works to make the kids i babysit laugh"
"Amusing" Scarlett said holding back her laugh
"So this is the real you?" Beardo asked
"The snark, always correcting with accurate data and giving long spiels of information? Yeah, i guess you can say thats the real me" Scarlett said
"Then what about when you tried to blow up the island?" Rodney asked with a bit of fear.
"I don't know. I was honestly stressed and so done with that stupid show" The redhead said "Our season had the least amount of strategy, we we're on an Island away from any actual civilization for days, whit cero commodities, plus all of you we're irritating"
"...thank you?" Beardo said not sure if he wanted to poke the bear more.
"Look. I'm not trying to hide or reduce what i did" Scarlett said with a sigh "It was… drastic. Disproportionated and reckless. But I simply can't make it like it didn't happen. All i ask, it's a bit of trust, i won't harm any of you, unless it has to be on self defense"
"That's… a bit reassuring" Rodney said
"I guess Dave wasn't the only one who ended broken from his time on the Island" Max commented
Meanwhile under the stairs
"Here, this shirt should be your size" Ella said handing Dave a maroon short-sleeve shirt with a burger
"Really? Well, its a restaurant, I should have figured" He said, grabbing the shirt "Would you mind giving me some space?"
"Why? It's not the first time I've seen you without a shirt" Ella asked which made Dave get red like a tomato.
"First, i don't want you to remind me of that moment" He said holding one finger up "And second. You know how i feel about… that"
"David. I already told you to not feel concerned about it" Ella said
"I can't help it. Every time i see them… My mind goes back" He sighed clenching his fist, with Ella quickly grabbing his arm.
"David" She said "Remember what we did as soon as you we're allowed to stop taking the pills to reduce your nightmares"
"We tried going to the zoo" He said
"And what did we do there?"
"Aside from avoiding the Bat section cause it reeked?" he asked
"You know what i mean"
"You mean helping the kid that was lost" He said
"You had no reason to do it, You said you were afraid to be recognized" Ella recalled "And yet when you heard him scream, You went to talk with him"
"Not sure if it was a smart move while wearing a hoodie" he cringed
"That aside. You did, and you even gave him said hoodie cause his shirt was all dirty" Ella said "And what did he Say?"
"He asked me if i was a hero cause of my scars" Dave said
"And what did the parents said when we found them"
"Thank you for finding him" Dave recalled "That's what the father said"
"And the mother gave you a hug and said you we're a savior" The singer completed
"I fail to see what's the relevancy of this"
"Neither of them treated you like a monster" Ella said "Cause they didn't see you as one"
"But they are not-"
"Everyone. I know. But my point remains, You believed everyone would see you as a monster" She continued "But they didn't. Neither did I. Nor Emily or the rest of your family. And from the reactions here, nor did most of our fellow teammates"
"Only Jasmine, Sugar and Amy where really hammering there" He grunted
"But Shawn didn't see you as a monster. Nor Sky" She said
"Yeah… they didn't" he sighed "Despite being the ones with the most reason to believe it…"
"My point it 's. You have to stop overthinking that everyone will immediately target you. The world has people of all kind, And opinions of all kind, for better or worse" Ella said "But at the end, we are the ones who pick which ones affect us. And you know i don't think of you as a monster"
Ella then helped Dave to take off his shirt, showing more scars on his chest, his back, and some on his arms.
"I see you as someone who's still fighting despite his mistakes"
"Ella… i-" Dave mumbled trying to not cry "I don't deserve a friend like you. After what i did, And what i did to you"
"You do" Ella said pulling him into a hug "and what happened between us wasn't your fault alone. I should have known that your feelings weren't on the right place at the time"
"That doesn't excuse me screaming at you" He said
"Nor does it excuse me kissing you when you told me not to do it" Ella said, placing the new shirt on Dave.
"Maybe if the situation was different… we could been a thing" Ella sighed placing her hand on Dave hearth "But if i'm not the one to occupy your heart. I can't forcé myself into it"
"You're a part of my heart. Just not that way" Dave said
"It's a way of speak" Ella teased. "Now. You think you're fine staying here?"
Dave looked himself in the mirror
"I'm still angry at Jasmine. And I do mean what I said about her attitude" Dave sighed "But I also recognize she was right about me and my own attitude… So yeah, I'll stay. If anything, i hope she doesn't bring up my family again"
Ella smiled and hugged Dave again, to which he returned the gesture.
What neither of them knew was that someone was overhearing from the other side of the door, but quickly left.
"I was just saying the truth" Sugar said
"No. You were' saying hurtful things to annoy everyone"
"Truth hurts" Sugar defended
"Look Sugar, you know i understand your perspective, and i can say i disagree with some of your points" Leonard sighed "But this was supposed to be a relaxing experience. Could you at least refrain from constantly poking Sky and Dave? I think they already gone through a lot"
The pageant queen saw leonard pleading eyes and sighed
"Fine. I'll try to not pull them… unless i really feel like i have to say something" She said crossing her arms
"Thank you" The larper said
"Who would have thought those two would actually match" Topher commented from the balcony
"Weird goes with weird" Amy said with no care "It was her or the fairytale wacko"
"Still, them being a couple over everyone else it's a surprise" The host wannabe said
"The bar was far too low" Amy said
"Shame we didn't talk more back then, we could been a power couple"
"If you weren't so busy glasing up Chris i might have taken some interest" Amy teased "I think my sister did see something on you, but it died as soon as you sided with me"
"What? How long have you saved that?" Topher asked
"For the moment we had nothing to talk" She said like it was no big thing
"Whatever… are you sure you want to stay" Topher asked
"I haven't been completely annoyed yet" Amy said "Watching those 2 bicker was entertaining anyways"
"Reminds me to you and your sister back on the Island"
"Absolutely not the same. Samey deserved it, I didn't. Those two, both deserve it"
"We never spoke about why you hate her that much"
"Nor do I plan to" Amy said "She did something. I will never forgive her. That's it"
Topher looked at her intrigued, but he knew he wouldn't get anything from her right now.
Sky was on the other balcony of the roof. Her back leaning against the access wall.
"Want a drink?" A voice asked, the olympian turned to see Sammy with two soda cans.
"Where did you-?"
"Got them from the fridges. Don't worry, Ella said it was fine" The blonde explained handing her the soda.
"Thanks" Sky said before taking a sip
"Are you okay?" Sammy asked
"After all of that? Are you serious?" Sky asked baffled
"No. I knew you we'rent" Sammy said "that's why i came"
"Oh…" Sky "sorry"
"It's okay. You're stressed. All of us are"
"I just… didn't think thing would go like that" Sky lamented
"They were both poking each other… Jasmine more than him" Sammy said "And other comments didn't help"
"This is my fault. Had i been more clear with Dave, if i hadn't thrown that horn to him" Sky rambled
"That wouldn't have changed much. Like Shawn said to Jasmine, most people here played a role, You might even argue i did, i wasn't there to talk Jasmine down, nor did i try when we shared a day on the playa"
"Not something under your control"
"We saw the show while on the resort, bare minimum i could have tried" Sammy said "I just hope Ella managed to calm Dave"
"I hope so" Sky sighed worried "He's… surprisingly calm"
"What do you mean?"
"After the finale. After I broke his heart. After we left him on the Island… yet he has acted really calm around me" The athlete said "He defended me from Sugar, he hasn't thrown any hurtful comments"
"Seems like he did some self-reflection these years" Sammy pointed out
"But to this degree… And how he looked… i can't even start to imagine what those robots did to him" Sky lamented.
"You had no wait to prevent that" Sammy said placing a hand on her shoulder
"I just wish everything could be different" The olympian said "Friends, couple… anything but this"
"Well… he seems fine by your side" Sammy observed
"After everything… You really think he does?"
"Like you said, no backhand comments, no angry looks" Sammy said "I think the most important question right now should be. Are you fine by his side?"
Sky started at her. Did she feel fine by Dave's side? She felt a bit awkward when they started. But as fast as episode two, it seemed like any of that didn't matter, she even ended up in his arms when she bursted out laughing.
"I… I think I do?" Sky sighed "But that ghost… what i did"
"It's not easy to remove" Sammy said "I think he feels similar. But i Say you two have a chance to call for peace. Don't waste it"
The Olympian nodded, and stared at the Sky.
"It's a beautiful night" She said
"It it's" Sammy added with a smile "Ella told me they we're almost ready, so we might have to go back inside"
Sky nodded and both walked back in. Dave and Ella we're placing the TV back on spot, while everyone else we're going back to their places. Jasmine and Dave crossed looks for a moment, but quickly went back to ignore each other.
"Hi" Sky awkwardly said sitting
"Oh… hi" Dave said equally awkward
"Are you…"
"I think" Dave said "At least i didn't break out about being dirty"
"Yeah… g-good work" Sky said, lifting her thumbs, then quickly pulling her hands behind herself. If they were in the island, she would have made a confession about that.
"You wanted to say something earlier… maybe-"
"Okay everyone" Ella said, accidentally interrupting "Final call. Does anyone want to leave?"
No one moved
"Okey. Let's start again" Ella said before turning And pressing the play button

First break its over
Sorry it took this long. Just seems like every time I try to catch a rhythm, something happens.
This episode felt eternal to write despite being shorter than the actual reactions. But I hope I was able to make good progress on the plots here, even adding some details around a case like Dave and Ella.
Won't make any promises. I'll just hope I can perform at my best.
