AN: Recently, I discovered the animated series "Dinosaur King" while browsing YouTube; it was a show I enjoyed during my childhood. Also, I remembered playing a Nintendo DS game called "Fossil Fighters," which I enjoyed. This story will feature several characters from that universe and some changes to fit the story. I am interested in exploring new content related to female Harry Potter stories. Please enjoy the Chapter.

Ch 1 A Find of a Century
London's Natural History Museum was silent, save for the hum of lights from the Fossil Display and the occasional echo of footsteps on polished floors. The Air smelled of Ancient Bones and the preserved History of Creatures that once ruled the Earth.
Dinosaurs, once towering Living Creatures that roamed the Globe, are reduced to Fossils. Forever preserved by the Creatures that took over the Dinosaurs once they went Extinct Sixty-six Million Years Ago.
"Alright, I think that's enough for today." A Middle-Aged Man with sandy blonde Hair said, placing down the Excavation Tools. "You can go Home, Helena. You did well helping me today with the Fossil Cleaning, Helena."
A black-haired Woman smiles, stretching her Arms and turning to her Mentor. "Anytime, Dr. Owen." She picked up some Papers, holding it in her Arms. "I'll bring the Research to the D-Lab in the Morning." She said about leaving the Laboratory.
Dr. Owen nodded, appreciating her dedication and hard work. "Thank you, Helena. Get Home safe, my dear." He said, continuing some of his other Works.
The black-haired Woman smiles, leaving the Lab reminiscing on how she got her.
This Woman is none other than Helena Potter, Nineteen Years Old. She was once a famous Witch known as the Girl Who Lived in the Wizarding World. However, she left the Wizarding World under the guidance of Dumbledore,
After the events of the Tri-Wizard Tournament, fortunately, Helena managed to use her Wand to push him away from Wormtail, who was about to land a Killing Curse.
Cedric fell on the Goblet of Fire, causing him to escape when he went back to Hogwarts.
Her Father's former Friend captured Helena and managed to escape but with a cost. The cost was the return of the Dark Lord, Voldemort.
Cedric manages to survive, but he injures his Arm. Dumbledore believes it's too dangerous for Helena to attend Hogwarts any further.
Dumbledore arranged for Helena to live in the Muggle World where she can be safe. Unlike with James and Lily, he became the Secret Keeper.
Sirius wanted to be the Secret Keeper, however, Dumbledore didn't want a repeat with Peter. Which Sirius undoubtedly understood,
Regardless, Dumbledore arranged for Helena to stay at a hidden House within London. A place that previous Order Members used for a base.
This situation was not what Helena expected, but it was the best they could do. Even went to where she couldn't use her Wand in case the Death Eaters were able to track it.
For the time being, Helena was an average Muggle, living Life as a Muggle.
Helena smiles, remembering how she became Dr. Owen's Assistant and how she came to this position.
At First, she hardly had any interest in that Field; however, once she visited the Natural History Museum in London out of curiosity.
The more she visited, the more intriguing the Fossils displayed were.
One day, when she came back visiting the Museum, a commotion caught her attention as everyone in the Building gathered around a Man with sandy blonde Hair.
A Man who seems older than her but younger than Dr. Owen. And a Woman who was around her Age.
Helena went over to investigate and discovered the Man was a renowned Paleontologist doing a Free Lecture there at one Point with a Colleague of his.
The brown-haired Man was Spike Taylor, who was an odd Person to be a Paleontologist, let alone a Man of Science.
The blonde Woman was Reese Drake, a calculated and highly skilled Technician and Researcher.
Helena listened to their Lecture, finding it fascinating, especially funny with Spike causing some accidents. Each day, she visited the Museum and studied and attended the Lectures hosted by the Team.
This caught the attention of Dr. Owens, the Man who gave the Free Lectures on Paleontology. He finds it interesting that a young Woman like her attends something like this. Normally, Reese was the One who acted like that.
While looking at the Fossil Exhibit, Helena was approached by the same Paleontologist who did the Free Lecture. "Excuse me, young Lady. I couldn't help but notice your interest in my Lectures." Helena turns around, seeing Dr. Owen walking toward her.
"Yes, is there a problem?" Helena asked, wondering if she attended without permission. She flinched, realizing that was the case, "Oh, is it because I attended your Lecture? I'm sorry, I didn't realize that it was for People studying Paleontology. I was so captivated by it that I couldn't help but attend more-"
Dr. Owen laughs, waving his Hand at Helena's comment, prompting her to stop. "Ahahah, don't apologize, my dear. It's just a small favor for a Colleague of mine who works in this very Museum." He said before getting to the point. "The reason I came up to you is because of your interest in my Lecture." He explained.
"H-Huh?" Helena raised a brow at what the Paleontologist said,
The sandy haired Man cleared her throat, "You see," A sudden flash appears above the Paleontologist, dramatically posing to her. "Everyone who attends my Lecture are rather stick in the Mud. They discuss, debate, and converse about Fossils that it leads to exactly what I said."
Helena merely blinks, seeing this Paleontologist is rather odd. She ponders, unsure where and who else has that same energy as Dr. Owen. "So, what about me? What does that have to do with me?" She asked,
"W-Well, you see. It was your questions at every Lecture I hosted that really intrigued me." Dr. Owen cleared his throat, explaining why he approached her. "Your questions have sparked a new Fire in me that I can't ignore. My dear, I couldn't ignore it. You have the potential to become a great Paleontologist."
Helena stumbles back, flabbergasted by what he said. "Me? A Paleontologist? No way," She said, quickly denying the offer, thinking she didn't have the right qualifications to be One. "I'm just a normal Girl who has nothing to do with anything. To be honest, I have left School due to personal reasons, and I'm not even in University." She explained.
"How can I be a Paleontologist when I don't have the right qualifications?" The black-haired Girl asked the renowned Paleontologist.
"Don't worry about that," Dr. Owen stated, understanding her plight. "I have a Student who was just like you. Though her Field of Study is different, she quickly became a great Student." He explained offering Helena the position to study under his tutelage.
Helena was unsure at First, but she decided to try it out and became an official Paleontologist Apprentice to the Dr. Owens.
During the First few Months under the sandy blonde Paleontologist's Wing, she became knowledgeable about the field.
Helena later moved to Japan to continue Studying Paleontology with Dr. Owens, where she was introduced to the D-Lab. Despite her knowledge of being in danger of being discovered by Voldemort, she took the risk, and it paid off.
A Lab dedicated to researching Dinosaurs, run by Spike Taylor and his Technical Assistant, Reese Drake.
To say the least, Spike and Reese are very welcoming to Helena's arrival. It made the Lab more interesting and dynamic, where Spike can be childish and Reese being calculative. With her normal attitude, it was a fine mix between Helena and her Colleagues. But those weren't only People she had met under Dr. Owen's tutelage.
She also made a few Colleagues in various Dig Sites and learn a lot from the experience. Fellow Paleologists and Associates of the D-Lab who share the same and yet different drive in the World of Paleontology. She even met someone who she works well with, but that's something for later.
Helena walks past the many Fossil Displays in the Museum. Her Emerald Green Eyes scanned the towering Skeleton before her. A Tyrannosaurus Rex posed mid-stride, its gaping maw frozen in a Prehistoric Roar. It still amazed her that these Fossilized Bones were once a Living Creature.
That Skeleton was the First ever Dinosaur Fossil she ever dug up with Dr. Owen. Helena chuckles, looking at herself in the reflection, finding that after everything, she became someone unexpected.
She exhaled softly as she continued on her way Home. After everything with the Tri Wizard Tournament and the weight of being the Chosen One, she had a quieter life. A Life she was able to enjoy without the pressure of a Witch.
Ever since meeting Dr. Owen, Paleontology had fascinated her, and after the events in Hogwarts, after Voldemort's return, she had enjoyed something peaceful, something more Mundane. Something that didn't involve Wands, Spells, or Destiny written in a Prophecy. And Helena…she's alright with it.
She reached out, her fingers grazing the cool plaque with the Tyrannosaurus's Information. That's when she heard it, a sound so faint, so out of place, that she almost mistaken it as her imagination.
Helena shook her Head, listening closely to the quiet Museum Halls. Then she heard it again, a Baby crying nearby.
Her Body froze; Her Heart pounded as she turned, her gaze sweeping the dimly lit hall, hearing the crying close.
She followed the sound, quickly walking through towering Exhibits, past the Fossilized Skeletons of long-extinct giants. Then she saw it…a small bundle nestled in a strange Egg-like capsule at the base of the T. Rex's display, half-hidden between the Rocks, a Baby.
Helena's breath caught. He was inside the strange Capsule, wrapped in a soft blue blanket, his face flushed from crying. "Hold on, I'll get you out!" Helena said, carefully breaking the latch.
Helena carefully took out the Baby. His Blonde tufts of Hair peeked out, and as she hesitantly stood up with him, his big Blue eyes locked onto hers as his crying ceased. "There, there, it's alright. I got you…"
The black-haired Woman looks around for any evidence of someone being here, a break-in or something. "Who would abandon a child here, of all places, in a Capsule? And why?" Helena asked herself. "Was there
She glanced around again, comforting the Infant, but the Museum was empty. No desperate Mother, no frantic Parents searching for a missing Baby. It's Just her and the Baby Boy.
At First, Helena thought of going to the Hospital or the Police Station or the Firehouse. They always welcomed abandoned Babies with open Arms. But then…
The Baby reached out, his tiny Fingers grasping the edge of her jacket. Instinctively, she lifted him into her arms. He clung to her, his body warm against hers, his small Hands curling into her Shirt as if she was the only thing in the world keeping him safe.
Something inside her shifted. She had spent so much of her life fighting, losing, and fighting again. But this child, this impossibly small life, had just been left here…alone. Something she can relate to.
"No, you're not alone. Not anymore." Helena said, looking down at him, her Heart swelling with a fierce protectiveness she had never known before.
The Baby cooed, nuzzling into Helena.
"What am I going to do with you?" Helena murmured, brushing her thumb across his cheek.
The Baby blinked up at her, a tiny yawn escaping his lips before he fell asleep in her Arms.
Helena swallowed hard, never held a Baby before. But at this moment, this very moment has changed her Life, if not for the better.
She glanced up at the towering T. rex skeleton above them. "Rex," she whispered to him, fitting name. "I suppose being under the Tyrant King of the Dinosaurs. Calling you Rex seems fitting, right?"
Rex giggled and reached out to Helena with the glee of a Name.
Her decision was made at that moment. Magic, fate, and destiny had shaped her Life before. But this…this was her choice.
She held Rex close, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. "Let's go Home…" Helena said before looking up at the Time. "But first, I need to tell Dr. Owen about you."
Walking back to the Laboratory, Helena was still holding the Infant she found. She looks down at him, seeing he has finally calmed down from his crying. "Heh, you tucker yourself out after all that crying." Helena chuckles, looking down at Rex,
As the young Woman walks over to the Laboratory, she notices that the lights at the Laboratory are on, indicating that Dr. Owen was still inside. "Oh, good, Dr. Owen is still inside the Lab," Helena said, holding Rex close to her as she headed over to speak with her Mentor.
"Dr. Owen? Are you still in here?" Helena opened the Laboratory, curious if her Mentor was inside.
The sandy blonde Paleontologist popped his Head from the Fossil Shelves, hearing his Name being called. "Hmm? Helena, is that you who's calling?" Dr. Owen asked, coming out of the Shelves, curious as to why she was not at her place. "I thought you went Home already. I thought it was the Chinese Food I ordered." He walks out to the open, going to see what caused his Student to return.
Dr. Owen walks over to his Student, dusting off the dust that came from touching the many Fossils stored in the Museum. He froze, seeing his young Assistant holding an Infant Child in her Arms.
"Huh, you're not even Twenty-One, and you have a Child with you." The sandy-blonde haired Paleologist placed his Hand on his Cheek, joking with his Student. "Now you're making me the youngest Grandpa in the World…"
Helena merely gave a questionable expression at her Mentor. "Doctor, you're aware that I'm single, right? If I was really pregnant, then you would've noticed that Months Ago." The black-haired Woman stated, denying his claims that she was with Child.
Dr. Owen looks at his Assistant, blinking at her and the Child in her Arms. He then cleared his throat, looking at the Infant, "Then where did you get the Baby from, my dear?" He asked in a more serious tone.
"I found Rex underneath the Tyrannosaurus Rex Skeleton Exhibit in this strange Capsule thing," Helena informed the sandy-blonde haired Paleontologist of how she came across the Baby.
"Strange Capsule? Did someone leave him there before the Museum closed?" Dr. Owen ponders, trying to figure out how and why someone left a Baby in a Museum of all places. He looks up at Helena, curious about how she addressed him. "Rex?"
Helena blushed, bouncing the Baby in her Arms. "Y-Yeah, since calling him the Baby isn't practical. I figured, why not naming him and Rex is the First thing I thought of…mainly because I found him at the Tyrannosaurus Display." She gave a lighthearted chuckle.
Dr. Owen sighs, crossing his Arms. He could tell that Helena is getting attached to the Infant. "Helena, what are you planning to do with young Rex?" He asked, waiting for an answer.
Helena looks at her Mentor, pondering about the question he asked her. "You are aware there are safe havens for Abandoned Infants here, and we can drop him off at one of those places." Dr. Owen asked curiously. "Unless you're going to Adopt him, then that's a whole different story altogether."
Adoption, Helena knows her Financial Situation is secured, and her Family left her behind a lot of Money to take care of herself. So using that Money to provide for Rex isn't a problem for her. "I-I think so…"
"Just a reminder, Helena, you're young and have plenty of Time to think about it." Dr. Owen advises Helena, wanting to make sure she's making the right decision. "You're aware that Child Protective Services will surely place him in a good Home." He assured her,
"I know…" Helena was about to agree with Dr. Owen; however, the moment Rex reopened his Eyes. His blue Eyes blinked at Helena before he giggled and reached his Hand out to her.
The black-haired Woman felt a pang in her Heart, feeling a connection with Rex when she looked into his Eyes.
Helena smiles softly, answering Dr. Owen's question. "But I think I can manage raising Rex." She said, feeling confident she can provide a Home for the blonde Infant, the Home and Family she desired since she was young, "I have the Money to care for him properly and provide for him." She continued with a smile,
Dr. Owen adjusted his glasses, his lips curling into a grin. "Well, since you're so set on raising Rex, am I going to be the goofy Grandpa? You know, the one showing up with a kazoo instead of a nice Sweater?" He chuckled, glancing at his Student. "Just wait until I start teaching Rex all the Grandpa jokes. Your poor Dog won't know whether to roll over or roll his Eyes!"
The black-haired Woman cringed at the poor joke Dr. Owen did to make the situation humorous. "Doctor, that was the terrible joke you have ever made." Helena smiles, cradling the Infant in her Arms.
"Well, someone has to be the funny One for the young One!" Dr. Owen exclaims, choosing to support Helena on this Life-changing decision she made. "Also, my dear, I forgot to mention. Are you certain you want to raise Rex there when you have your own situation?" He asked, very aware of Helena's situation.
Helena looks down at Rex, gurgling as he looks around the Laboratory. "I haven't really thought about it." The young Paleontologist commented, knowing that she was a walking target and Rex might be targeted as well.
"Still no Word from your Friends or the Headmaster of yours?" Dr. Owen asked, wondering if she had any Word about her heading back or if it was safe for her.
Helena shook her Head; it's been a few Years since she received any Word regarding the situation with the Wizarding World. She told Spike, Reese, and Dr. Owen about where and who she is halfway through her Studies in Paleontology.
Initially, they were taken aback, their expressions a mix of surprise and disbelief. But as Time went on, they began to accept the reality of her situation, growing to understand and accept it with open Arms.
The black-haired Woman ponders to herself, she hasn't really gotten a Word from anyone regarding if the Wizarding World is safe. She's been living where Dumbledore has set her up; however, it's rather small for her to raise a Child.
As Dumbledore is the only one aware of her location, and there are no indications that anyone from Hogwarts or the Ministry knows her whereabouts, it seems there may be no need for her to leave to provide the best environment for raising Rex.
Helena looks at the sandy-Blonde haired Doctor, already making a decision. "Dr. Owen, I believe there should be no issue with me moving to a place where Rex can have a proper Childhood." She said, wanting Rex to be raised somewhere where he can be a happy Child.
"In fact, I heard Dr. Taylor has a Son and Reese has a Sister as well around Rex's Age." Helena smiles, thinking of the many Playdates with the Taylor's Son and Reese's Sister for Rex.
Dr. Owen nodded, recognizing Helena's uniqueness, much like Reese Drake. He cleared his throat, approving her decision. "That sounds like a great plan, Helena. Plus, you can work at the D-Lab with the others." He placed his hand on her shoulder, his expression filled with pride. "Helena, what you're doing is incredibly honorable. I'm proud of you. You're going to be an exceptional mother to Rex."
Rex gave a loud giggle, sensing the excitement from the Two.
The Two Adults looked down at the Blonde Boy in Helena's Arms, prompting Dr. Owen to make a joke. "See? Rex can tell that you're going to be an excellent Mother." The Paleontologist smiles, knowing she's capable Person to be a Mother.
"Thank you, Doctor." Helena gazes lovingly down at Rex, her heart swelling with affection. "Oh, my sweet Rex, I promise you, I will create the warm and loving home you deserve, the one I've always dreamed of for you." She said, nuzzling Rex, causing him to giggle.
Japan, Sanjo City, Ten Years Later
It was a peaceful Morning in Sanjo City, Japan. Birds were chirping, Neighborhood Dogs barking at each other. To say the least, this was a perfectly mundane place,
In the many Houses of a small Neighborhood, Helena has made a Home for both her and Rex. Shortly after finding the Blonde Boy, Helena officially Adopted Rex as her Son, going by Rex Potter.
In the Eyes of the Wizarding World, many Wizards and Witches would have an issue with her Adopting a Muggle as a Son. Especially when Helena is the last of the Ancient and Noble House of Potter, for her to Adopt a Muggle as her Son is almost like a Crime to the Purebloods.
But Helena doesn't care for that, not at all. All she cares for is that Rex has a happy Family Life, even if it's just the Two of them.
It was a bright and cheerful Monday morning when Helena, with her long black Hair neatly tied over her Shoulder, happily set about preparing breakfast for herself and Rex.
The young Mother, near her Mid-Late Twenties, looked at the Time of the Clock hanging above the Living Room Wall. "Rex! It's Seven o'clock, Time to wake up for School." Helena called her Son from the Kitchen, heading to the Dinning Room.
Helena placed plates of Rice and Fish on the Table for both her and Rex. She sighs, waiting for a good few Minutes before calling Rex again. "Rex, you better be up when I get up there." She said, knowing how her Son can be a bit stubborn.
The black-haired Woman sighs, walking upstairs to wake up her Son. Helena opens Rex's Room, which is cleaner and organized than most Children around her Son's Age.
Entering Rex's Room, Helena looks around her Eyes catch her Son snuggled up in his Bed under his blankets. "Rex, sweetie, it's Time to get up for School," Helena said, walking to the curtains and pulling them to let the Sunlight in.
Rex flips on the other side of his Bed, avoiding the Sunlight. "Mmm…Mom! Five more Minutes," The blonde Boy grumbles, wanting to sleep some more.
"Sweetie, I told you not to stay up too late," Helena said to her Son, standing next to Rex's bedside, placing her Hand on her side. She tilts her Head curiously, looking down at Rex. "What exactly were you doing last night? You weren't on your Computer watching Documentaries again, were you?" She asked, already seeing the Room.
The young blonde Boy sat up in bed, his Head turning to face his Mother, answering her question. "Um…how did you know?" Rex asked, his Blue Eyes averted from his Mother's gaze.
"I'm your Mother, Rex. I know things," Helena said, motioning to the pulled-up Chair at his Desk and the Computer still on with the Screen paused on a video.
Rex flinched, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment after being found out. "Heh…I-I guess I forgot to tidy up last night, huh?" He asked, chuckling to himself.
Helena sighed gently, a warm smile spreading across her face. She reached out, tenderly patting her son on the shoulders. "Alright, sweetheart, it's time to head downstairs for Breakfast," She said softly. With a nurturing nudge, she encouraged him to make his way to the Dining Room.
Rex removed his blankets, stretching his Arms as he moved his legs over the edge of his Bed. "What do we have, Mom?" The blonde Boy asked, stretching his Arms above his Head.
Helena walked over to her son's door and turned to Rex. "I made fish and rice, I know how much you like it." She informed him as he walked to his drawer, grabbing a white shirt, a blue jacket, tan khakis, and his socks.
"Yeah, thanks, Mom." Rex smiled, getting dressed as his Mother went downstairs.
After getting ready for School, Rex came downstairs ready to leave for School.
Helena was sitting at the table, glancing at her son, who was settled in across from her. "Rex, do you have everything for school? Your Backpack, Homework?" She asked, her voice filled with warmth, wanting to ensure he was prepared for the Day ahead.
The Blonde Boy gazed up at his Mother, his Blue Eyes giving her his full attention. "Yes, Mom, I have everything set. You know I know what I need to do." Rex smiles at Helena. "You needn't to worry,
Helena sighs, knowing that Rex is more capable than he seems. "I know, but sometimes I couldn't help but make sure you have everything," She smiled.
"I know that, Mom," Rex said, appreciating how caring his Mother was. He remembered something that he wanted to ask his Mother something that both his Friends, Max and Zoe, wanted to do. "Um, Mom, can I ask you something? Like a favor?"
"Hmm? What is it, Sweetheart?" The young Mother asked her Son, curious what he wanted to ask her.
Rex sat up straight, proceeding to ask her what he wanted to ask. "Mom, is it okay that me, Max, and Zoe visit the D-Lab after School? We want to see the Fossils that Grandpa sent from his recent Dig."
Helena couldn't help but smile softly, her heartwarming at the sight of her Son so completely enchanted by Paleontology. It was such a joyful moment to witness. "Are you really excited to see what your grandfather sent to the D-Lab?" She asked gently.
Rex nodded politely, hoping she would agree with his request. "Y-Yeah, so can we?" He asked again,
The young Mother ultimately gave in, letting her Son and his Friends, who had Family working in the Lab, visit. "Alright, but remember most places in there aren't suited for Children, got it, Rex?" Helena asked, seeing the light of excitement in his Eyes.
"Thanks, Mom! You're the best!" Rex smiled, finishing his Breakfast as he was about to head out to School and Helena to the D-Lab.
Both Mother and Child are unaware that the Day has something in store for Rex and his Friends.
AN: How do you like it? Would you all want to see when the D-Team collects the Dinosaur Cards and sends them out as baby Dinosaurs living at the Lab, much like Chomp, Ace, and Paris in the anime, or keep them as Cards? Please leave a comment or review.
