Later on that day
Meeting up with Haley is exactly what he needed.
He explained his feelings and what he had saw and felt about Alex.
Haley listened to it all. Before responding.
(From what you've told about her and the feelings regarding the baby and being a mom.)
(I truly don't believe. You and Brooke have anything to worry about.)
(Its normal and expected for her to be somewhat attached.)
(Pregnancy is alot especially you're first time. Regardless of what she's already told you.)
(But if you really think there is a reason for concern tell Brooke.) Haley advised.
Lucas hugged feeling better. He then went back home.
Months later
Brooke and I were both very emotionally invested in this baby. And Alex as a friend.
She would give birth at any moment. And Brooke could concentrate on nothing else.
We were as ready and prepared as new parents can be.
When Brooke got the call from Alex. She practically jumped out of bed.
(Alex is in Labor!) Brooke exclaimed.
I nervously drove us to the hospital. With a car seat set up.
We burst through the hospital doors.
(We're here to see Alex Dupre ) Lucas said.
(We're meeting our baby today!) Brooke exclaimed to the receptionist.
After being given name tags. We were instructed to where Alex was in Labor and delivery.
I was up where I could see nothing.
Brooke fed ice chips. Wiped sweat off her face.
Helped her breathe and stay calm through contractions.
When it was time to push. Brooke was there holding her hand.
I was sweating my stomach in knots.
As the quiet in the room. Ended as cries erupted.
I cut the cord. The baby was cleaned and handed to Alex.
Brooke was in tears and she wasn't the only one.
(We should give them some time.) I insisted.
She didn't want too. But she followed me out into the hallway.
