Amity
The moment that we all landed near where Luz, King, Raine and Eda were, I ran to my girlfriend.
"Batata!" I cried out. She smiled and ran to me too.
"Sweet Potato!" She cried out as well. We both embraced each other in a hug.
"You missed it, Amity." Luz told me. "I died, but then came back as a titan thanks to King's dad." I was puzzled.
"Wait, what?!" So, Luz told me everything. "Oh man, you're right. I would totally want to see my girlfriend battle an evil monster as a bad butt. I was just at the Archives with your mom and the others helping out." Luz smiled.
"Well, helping out is good too."
"Yeah, but it was nothing compared to what you guys did."
"Yeah, I guess it was pretty awesome defeating Belos once and for all. I wished you could have seen it."
"Me too."
As soon as I saw Dad, I ran up to him.
"Dad!" I called him. He saw me, smiled and hugged me as well.
"Guess what?" Dad said to me. "I divorced Mom." I just looked at Dad in shock.
"You did?" He nodded. "When? Oh, it doesn't matter. I'm so happy for you. She wasn't your type at all."
"What do you mean by that?" Mom, no, Odalia, asked suddenly. We all looked and gasped as she seemed to appear out of wherever she was hiding and walked towards us.
"Oh, hi, Odalia." I said. She was confused. "That's right. I hate you so much that I'm calling you by your actual name instead of Mom."
"While I am mad and hurt at that, I still think your father is making a huge mistake."
"Well, I don't care what you think. I think it's the best decision that Dad had made. What you did to him was wrong. It was also wrong of you for almost murdering my girlfriend." She rolled her eyes with a groan.
"You're still upset at that? I still think that she's not right for you and that you could do so much better." I then got really angry at her.
"You don't know me at all! And you still have the audacity to still think that!? I love Luz and she loves me! We're perfect together! It's sad that you don't see that."
"I thought you didn't care what I thought."
"You're right and I still don't, but I kindly appreciate it if you don't insult my girlfriend like that ever again and keep your petty and entitled opinions to yourself, Karen." She was puzzled again.
"Karen? I don't know what you are talking about. That's not my name. You know my name. You just said it, so why…?"
"It's a Human Realm thing. You wouldn't understand." She then sighed.
"Nevermind then, at least you didn't have to tend to the Collector and had to buy him pizza bagels. I didn't even know what those were and I don't care to try. They look nasty."
"They have good taste. I tried them in the Human Realm and they're muy buen. That's 'very good' in Spanish, btw, something I learned from my awesome girlfriend. Also, btw is 'by the way.'
"Whatever. I just hope for the best for you, your brother, sister and your father." I smiled and was a bit surprised that she just said that.
"Oh, um, that's the nicest thing that you ever said in a while. Maybe for my entire life."
"She's right, you know." Dad told her.
"Well, you're still my child. I still care for you, your siblings and your father. I'm not a soulless monster."
"Thanks. But if you care for us, you would have not done what you had done or at least redeemed yourself. Hunter and I had." I could tell that she really wanted to counterattack, but luckily, kept it in.
"You know what? I just said something nice, so I'm going to go now, so bye and good luck!" Dad and I watched her go. Dad then sighed. I looked at him.
"What?" I asked. Dad looked at me.
"Oh. I'm just wondering now how I am going to raise three children on my own now." I held his hand and smiled.
"When my friends and I were in the Human Realm, Luz's mom, Camila, raised six children on her own. She didn't have to, but she did. If she can do it, you can too. I believe in you, Dad." Dad smiled.
"Thanks, Mittens."
"Of course. And don't worry, we will help to make it easier for you."
"Thanks for that as well. I really appreciate that and there's no doubt in my mind that you kids won't. You three are such good kids. I'm lucky to have you."
"Thanks, Dad. I'm lucky to have you as my dad. Thank you for not being like Mo…Odalia." I changed the subject when I thought about Luz. "Ooh! Dad! Pardon me, but I have to tell Luz. She'll want to know about this."
"If that is what you must do, then go right ahead. I won't stop you." And so, I ran off.
On the way, I looked around at my other friends and smiled. They were all having happy reunions with their loved ones just like they should. I then frowned. What about Hunter? He had been living a toxic lifestyle just like me. Sure, he tried to kill me when we were at that dried up Eclipse Lake, but he was trying to impress someone who he thought loved him. Plus, he was going to dig his own grave and offered to make me one. Even if he threatened Luz, I felt bad for him, and still do. But that feeling vanished immediately when I saw him talking to Darius and Eberwolf. I couldn't tell what he was talking about, but my gut tells me that it was going to be fine, and I choose to go with my gut. It's usually right.
When I told Luz about Odalia, she seemed surprised.
"Really?!" She wanted to know. "She said that?!" I nodded. "Your mom, Odalia wished you guys the best? Are we talking about the same person?" I nodded.
"She's still my mom unfortunately, and, yes. I was a bit shocked too, but she definitely said it. I heard it with my two pointy ears." She was still impressed.
"Wow, just, wow! That was not on my bingo card of things Odalia would say."
"I don't know what that means, but, yes, it was. I totally agree." She then changed the subject. "Are you going to be okay?" I was a bit confused by her question.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, it's just, when human parents divorce, human children usually think that's the worst thing that can happen, even blaming themselves."
"No, I don't think that at all. Luz, my parents' marriage was toxic and was getting worse as time went on. You know this. My dad is better off without her." Luz smiled.
"Yeah, you're right." I changed the subject.
"You know, Luz, we had that milkshake date when we were at the Human Realm, so we should have another date here in the Demon Realm again."
"You're right. We totally should. But, don't forget, we have to rebuild the Boiling Isles with all of our friends. The sooner we get things done with the Isles, the better."
"I know. But that'll take a while. And we for sure would take breaks in between. So we can plan a date then." Luz smiled.
"Sure, I'd love that. Bump did predict it could take up to four human years. But, I figure that the sooner, the better.
"True, but don't forget, breaks are good to have every now and then."
"You're not wrong."
"And you're not wrong. Eda can babysit, or is it palismensit? Whatever, she can take care of our palismen while we're away, and they can both bond. But not Hooty. Hooty shouldn't take care of them."
"I guess that'll be good if our palismen can like each other too." Luz looked at Stringbean. "How'd you like that, Stringbean? Want to hang out with Ghost sometime?" Stringbean hissed her agreement. I asked the same question to Ghost. Ghost meowed. I smiled, understanding that as a 'yes.'
And just like Luz said, we started the long process of rebuilding the Isles. It wasn't fun, but it was for the good of the Isles. Plus, all of our friends were there, so that made it bearable, especially with Luz. I'll be up to doing anything if Luz is on my side. And there's no doubt in my mind that Luz feels the same way about me.
One day, Camila and I were outside of the Owl House. As soon as we entered, we saw Luz, Eda and Raine. They were all sitting inside the huge nest. I ran to Luz. After we both smiled and closed our eyes, I lifted her up (I didn't know that I was that strong to lift a girl my age), and we shared another kiss. Because, why not? Luz is a good kisser and I know I am too because she lets me. Afterwards, I allowed Camila to hug her daughter.
A while after the Collector brought Hooty back to Lilith and when the tube owl wrapped himself around Lilith in a ball while Raine laughed, both Camila and I were concerned. Luz wasn't and pulled us both into another hug. I couldn't complain. I can not have too many hugs with my awesome girlfriend, both in her world and in mine.
Principal Bump gathered all of us for an award ceremony, as well as a feast to celebrate my friends and I from saving the Boiling Isles with Raine, Eda, King, The Collector, and Camilia. But I still didn't think we really deserved it. Luz, however, thought that we did.
"You helped people that turned into puppets." Luz stated. "You may not have helped in Belos' defeat, but you did enough. You, my mom, and our friends. You may not think much of it, but it meant something to the witches that you helped. So yeah, you, Mom and our friends were as much of heroes as King, Eda, Raine and I were. Even simple small acts can be part of something big and heroic. That was what my dad used to say." I smiled.
"Yeah, I guess. Your dad sounds like he was an intelligent man." This time, Luz smiled.
"He sure was. He would have liked you."
"I think I would have liked him too."
Luz did make me feel better. That wasn't a surprise, because she always makes me feel better. I can't believe I was mean and a bully before. I was a complete idiot and a little monster for that. I don't know what I was thinking. Thank Titan I had changed.
Now I can't wait for my award. But first, we have to eat.
"Ready to eat, Amity?" Luz asked me. I nodded.
"Si, I'm starving!" She and I held hands and we went to get our food.
After we got our food, we went to a table to sit with Eda, King, and Camilia.
"Did Luz tell you that she was turned into a Titan by my dad?" King asked me. "And that she as well as Eda and I had an awesome, epic fight with Belos?" I nodded.
"She did." I replied.
"Oh. Well, when we thought she died, Eda and I went into our beast modes. Oh and Luz sorta died, sorta didn't. She told you that, right?"
"She did. In fact, I think my friends and I all saw the aftermath of her 'death' in those glowy yellow balls."
"Yeah, there were glowy yellow balls after she died."
"But thank goodness that didn't happen." Camila stated. "And that I'm still with my sweet, precious, little nina. No parent should ever have to bury their child."
"Aw, Mama!" A flattered Luz responded. "I'm glad I'm still here too."
"Thank Titan!" I agreed. I then realized something and looked at King. "Hope I can say that in your presence."
"I don't mind." He said. "Why ever not? They're just words. I heard far worse from Eda." We all looked at her as she was sipping on her box of Apple Blood. She sighed.
"Guilty as charged." She confessed. "We can't all be perfect saints."
"Very true." Camila agreed.
"Can we join you?" Dad asked. We all looked at him. Behind him was Edric and Emira.
"Sure." Camila said. Dad, Edric and Emira sat with us in the empty seats. Edric was thankfully all better and out of that body cast. Dad, Emira, and Edric introduced themselves to Camila. Camila introduced herself to them.
"Amity had said so many things about you guys when she was in my care." Camila shared with Dad when introductions were done.
"Positive things, right, sis?" Edric asked me.
"Yes, Edric." I said back. "Nice things."
"Thank you for caring for our little Mittens when she was far away from home." Dad thanked her. Camila was confused.
"Mittens?"
"That's what Dad calls her." Emira explained to her. She looked at me. "Right, Mittens?" I blushed a little.
"Emira!" I cried out, feeling a little embarrassed. "Stop it, but, yes.'
"Oh." Camila replied. "It was my pleasure. Your daughter was so wonderful. She wasn't a problem at all, as well as Luz's other friends. They were all just sweet, sweet angels."
"That's good."
"Even that blonde teen?" King questioned. "He was a sweet, sweet angel? Because I find that hard to believe."
"Well he did punch a teenager in Connecticut." Luz stated.
"And there it is." Eda observed.
"But to be fair, it was his first morning in my realm. Cut him some slack. Everybody makes stupid mistakes, even sweet, sweet angels."
"That's right." Her mom agreed. "They were like my children."
"Luz was like a kid to me too." Eda admitted.
"I saw Hunter with Darius and Eberwolf earlier." I put in. "And he looked happy. So that's a good sign. He grew up in a toxic relationship like I did. It's good to see him happy. He deserves it."
"I totally agree. I think Hunter's bad days are behind him for now."
"And I totally agree with that."
After Bump's speech, my name was the first one that he called. That's the bad thing about my last name being very early in the alphabet. I get called before Luz and have to wait a while for her name to be called. But this was for a good thing. So, it wasn't a huge deal.
Before I walked on stage, I felt someone's hand on my arm. I looked at Luz who smiled at me.
"I'll join you in a bit." I smiled back.
"I can't wait." And with that, I resumed towards the stage.
After I let Bump put the medal around my neck, he called up Eda. I know that he'll call Luz up soon, but I wish that he'll hurry. Any time I spend without Luz by my side is like an eternity. I know I may sound like I'm being melodramatic about this and maybe I am, but I don't care. I can't help it. That's how much I love my Luz.
"I can't believe today is almost over." I told Luz as the dance floor was being set up. "I loved spending the day with you. I don't want that to end and have to resume our hard work on rebuilding tomorrow."
"I loved spending the day with you too." Luz agreed. "And I, too, don't want it to end. I know rebuilding the Isles will be a pain in the butt, but it'll be worth it in the end." I smiled.
"Boy, you got that right. It sure will be. Didn't Bump say it could take up to 3-4 years to rebuild everything?" Luz nodded.
"I believe so, yes." I sighed.
"Man, that'll suck and be no fun."
"It sure will. But as long as I'm with you, nothing will ever suck." I smiled yet again.
"Same goes with you, batata." This time, Luz smiled.
"You know we still have that date to schedule." I facepalmed myself.
"Titan! I forgot about that."
"It's okay. I don't mind. We don't need to have it."
"No, no, we do. How about…" I thought about it. "Uh, it won't be inappropriate to have it after Flapjack's funeral, will it?"
"I don't see why not. I don't think Hunter will mind if that's what you're worried about."
"No, I don't think that at all. It's just…never mind."
"Then it's a date then. In the meantime, we have to think about what the date will be."
"We will. I'm sure we will."
As soon as the dance floor was ready and witches and demons were headed towards the dance floor when the DJ started the music, I outstretched my hand towards Luz.
"May I have this dance, batata?" I asked, even though I was pretty sure that I knew what the answer would be. Luz smiled and stood up. She grabbed my hand.
"You may, my sweet potato." She replied. And so, that was that. Hand in hand, we walked out onto the dance floor and started dancing.
"Wow, Amity! I haven't danced with you since Grom. I missed it to be honest."
"Me too."
"At least this time, we don't have to duel with a monster manifested into our worst fears, right?"
"That's right. We just dance like this." Luz sighed with relief.
"Good." I then saw Hunter dancing with Willow, or I think he was trying to dance. I don't know because he wasn't really good. I blinked a few times to make sure my eyes weren't pranking me.
"Wait, is that Hunter dancing with Willow?" Luz looked at them as well, then back at me as we were still dancing.
"Yes, I believe so."
"Wow!" I then smiled. "Good for her. I somehow knew she and Hunter would make a cute couple."
"I did too. I call their ship, Huntlow."
"Huntlow, why not Winter?"
"I like Huntlow better, don't you?" I thought about this.
"Yeah, I do. I also like Lumity. Amz just doesn't cut it and no offense, kind of makes me want to puke."
"I hate Amz too. I love Lumity too. Amz just sounds wrong."
"So very wrong." I looked at Hunter again who was still dancing awkwardly.
"Is Hunter okay? He looks like he has never danced in his life before, which is sadly, not surprising. Poor guy."
"Give him a break. He's trying his best. And I think Willow understands that too and just wants to be with him."
"Yeah. I should just shut up and just dance with you."
"Yeah, you should."
"Okay, shutting up now." I shut up, and Luz and I danced and danced.
Afterwards, the dance was over. I can't believe the dance was over with. Guess Luz's human saying is true 'time flies when you are having fun'. (I have to remember not to say that to Hunter. His palisman just died. The last thing I want to do is upset him, especially before Flapjack's funeral). The next time I'll have time with Luz is our Demon Realm date. I still don't know what the date will entail, but whatever it is, it will be awesome!
After we had our meal at Flapjack's funeral, I had to use the bathroom. I told Luz this. She was going to wait for me, and her mom, who also had to go, then we would all head out, and then Luz and I would go on our date. I still didn't know what it was going to be, Luz said that it was going to be a surprise and that I'll love it. I trust Luz.
As soon as I got into my stall in the bathroom, I heard Camila scream. I ran out of my stall and knocked onto Camila's stall door.
"Camila?" I wanted to know. "Are you okay in there?"
"Yeah." Camila answered. "It's just that the monster in the toilet scared me."
"Oh? The toilet monster? Sorry, every toilet in the Boiling Isles has a monster living inside of them. Sorry, I should have warned you."
"It's okay. I never used the bathroom here. I guess I should have figured that it was a little different."
"So, are you going to head back to the Human Realm and use a toilet there?"
"No. I'll use it here. I can manage."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Thanks for checking up on me though. I appreciate it." I was still a little unsure about this, but chose to trust her and went back to my own stall.
When I was washing my hands in the sink, that is when Camila came out. She went to wash her hands, I then saw her face. It was sad looking.
"You okay?" I asked her. She looked at me and sighed.
"It's Luz's quinceañera soon." I was puzzled about this.
"Quince…what?"
"Quinceañera. It's when a young girl turns fifteen. They become a woman in our culture."
"So it's Luz's birthday soon?" Camila nodded.
"Well, that's great! Isn't it? I don't know what birthdays mean to humans in their world." Camila sighed.
"Birthdays to young people are normally pretty special, especially their quinceañera."
"Then what's the problem?"
"Luz wants to help rebuild the Boiling Isles as soon as possible. She wouldn't want to stop for her birthday, especially if she stopped for the ceremony and now Hunter's bird's funeral."
"What are you talking about? It's her birthday. She'll want to take it off for it. Who wouldn't want to take their special day off?" Camila smiled.
"You may think you know Luz because you're her girlfriend, but I'm her mother. I have known her her whole life." I would normally feel like this was an insult, but I wasn't mad, because I knew Camila didn't mean to be mean. She was right. She knew her better than I did. I haven't known Luz that long, even though it felt like a lifetime. Camila has me beat by fourteen human years, almost fifteen. "And it'll be a shame because all of her relatives that want to celebrate with her will be so heartbroken if she cancels it. But they will understand. Luz can do what she wants on her birthday. After all, she's not a little girl anymore. She's growing up fast. I just want what will make her happy."
"If you want, I can ask her on our date." She looked at me.
"Would you? And don't worry, I want to make her happy too. I don't want to force her to do something that she doesn't want to do, even though it might leave me heartbroken." Camila smiled.
"You have a good heart. No wonder Luz saw something in you." I smiled back, maybe even blushing a little.
"I guess we both saw something in each other. Believe it or not, I was kind of a jerk and a bully to her at first." Camila was shocked at this.
"You? No way!" I nodded as we both headed out of the bathroom.
"And Willow. I guess it was because of how I was treated at home."
"That's how most bullies are. They act tough and cruel towards others because of their home lives. It's no excuse of course. No form of bullying is ever okay, but sadly, that's how it is with troubled kids. And adults get bullied too."
"I guess you're right, Camila. I'm just glad that I changed my awful ways and became who I am today, Luz's batata."
"I am too. I wish all people were more like you, then the world would be a bit better to live in."
"Boy, you got that right."
"Luz, where are you taking me?" I asked her. She was leading me by the hand somewhere as my eyes were closed. "Can I open my eyes now?"
"Not yet." She told me. "We're almost there."
"Luz, I can't keep my eyes closed forever."
"I know and don't worry. You won't." We walked a bit further. I felt Luz let go of me. "Okay, you can open your eyes now." I did just that and I was shocked to see Hooty right up in my face.
"SURPRISE, HOOT-HOOT!" The owl tube cried out (I still don't know what to call him. I don't think anybody knows, including Eda and King). Luz pushed Hooty away from me.
"Hooty!" Luz scolded him. "Respect boundaries. We don't want to scare her."
"Oh, sorry." Hooty apologized. "I'm just so excited about being a part of your date." I was confused as I turned to Luz.
"Wait, we're taking Hooty on our date?"
"Kinda." Luz said. I was even more confused.
"Kinda? What the…?" Hooty then retracted his long neck and I saw it. He was in his 'love boat' form and was in water. I then recognized where we were.
"Wait, is this…?" '
"It's when Hooty took us on that 'tunnel of love' ride." My girlfriend replied.
"Only this time you won't ruin it by destroying everything, right, Luz?" Hooty asked her. He stretched his head so he was face to face with her. He turned serious. "Right?!"
"Right." Luz agreed sheepishly. She raised her hand. "I promise I won't go all psycho and ruin everything that you worked so hard on. That was past Luz. I'm a better person now. I'm not insecure anymore." Hooty smiled as he brought his head back to the boat again. "Good."
"I wanted to recreate the Hooty's boat ride and do it right this time. You know, not act like a complete fool of myself."
"Why?" I wanted to know. Luz grabbed my hand and looked at me.
"Because even though the boat part was a complete disaster, the best thing came out of it was." I smiled, realizing what it was.
"Me asking you out on a date?" I guessed. Luz smiled.
"Si. But I was going to ask you out, remember, but you beat me to the punch?"
"Great minds think alike. Isn't that what you humans say?" Luz smiled again.
"Yes, it is."
"Well, it's a perfect human saying…just like you are perfect, in every single way, batata." She blushed.
"You too, sweet potato."
"Let's get going!" Hooty spoke up as he started to move. "We're rolling on the river of love! That's what I don't get. We're not rolling on a river. So, why is that a song? I don't get it. It doesn't make any sense. Does it make sense to you two?"
"Hooty?"
"Yes?"
"Be quiet."
"Oh, sorry. I'll shut up now so you two can have you moment of love in peace and quiet. Shushing up no…"
"Hooty!"
"Sorry." And just like that, Hooty did what he was told and shushed up. Our ride continued in silence. Luz and I laid back and held each other's hand and just enjoyed the peaceful ride as we saw cutouts of hearts everywhere and fountains that gushed out water in shapes of hearts. It was romantic, just what I expected from my Luz, the awesomest and sweetest girlfriend in the whole world, demon realm and human realm combined. It was perfect and magical. I couldn't ask for anything better.
"So, you were okay with that?" Luz asked me as we were walking away from the owl house.
"Are you kidding?!" I asked. "Of course I was okay."
"Oh good. I didn't know if you would like a repeat of the first date, minus, you know, me making a complete fool out of myself."
"No, any date with you is a good date no matter what."
"Oh, that's good. You too, by the way." I then remembered what Camila said earlier and changed the subject.
"Luz, why don't you want to celebrate your quinceañera?" Luz was caught off guard at that.
"Oh, that. My mom told you, huh?" I nodded.
"Yeah. She told me in the bathroom after the funeral."
"I want to celebrate, I mean who wouldn't? It's my quinceañera! I'm turning fifteen and becoming a woman, so it's a big deal in my culture, but…"
"But what?"
"But we have to rebuild. We already did Flapjack's funeral and the award banquet ceremony. We have to stay focused, no more days off. No more distractions. We have to get to work otherwise we'll never get done."
"But it's your birthday! And the big one too; your quince! You have to do it! Your relatives and mom are counting on you."
"I know, and I hate having to disappoint them all. But the sooner we get done and rebuild the Isles, the better. I'm just going to have to cancel." I wanted to try to convince her more, but I didn't want to force her. I didn't want to upset her. I sighed instead.
"Alright, Luz. Whatever you want." Luz frowned.
"You're disappointed aren't you? I'll do it if not doing it will make you disappointed."
"No, it's your birthday. You should do what you want. I may not understand it fully and be a little disappointed, but in the end, I'll support you 100%." Luz smiled.
"Thanks, Amity. I knew you would understand and support me. Now, I just have to convince my mom."
"I have a feeling she'll be really supportive about it."
"I really hope you're right."
"I know that I am."
"I can't believe Luz doesn't want to celebrate her quinceañera." Gus said the next day while my friends and I were working. Luz was somewhere else. "I mean, I don't know how humans celebrate their birthdays, but I bet it's better than how we celebrate it here in the Demon Realm…and hopefully a lot less frightening."
"Hey, Hunter." Willow spoke to him. "When is your birthday?" We all looked at Hunter as he looked at Willow.
"I don't know." He admitted. "We never celebrated birthdays at the castle really. They just kind of came and went I guess. And I guess I don't really have a birthday, since you know, I'm a clone."
"Then when were you created?" Gus wanted to know.
"Or maybe since you were a copy of Caleb, when was his birthday?" I asked him. Hunter shrugged.
"I don't know that either."
"Well, do you remember what date you distanced yourself from The Emperor's Coven? Maybe that can be your new birthday, sort of a rebirth, if you get what I'm saying."
"I don't really get what you are saying and I don't get why this is such a huge deal to you guys all of a sudden. I don't have a birthday like everyone else, so what? That's what I get for being a grimwalker and it's all Belos' fault!" I could tell that Hunter was angry and maybe starting to get a bit annoyed at us for all of the questions.
"We just want you to have the same chances as everyone else, Hunter." Willow assured him.
"You can ask Luz, but I doubt she'll know either. And honestly, it's fine. I don't really care. Birthdays are just days, right? People die and they are born everyday, including 'special days' like Halloween and Thanksgiving, so death doesn't take holidays off. Death is coming for all of us one day; it's inescapable. So, holidays and birthdays are just days, nothing really matters. Birthdays just mean that you are closer to death. I'm sorry, but celebrating on certain days just seems completely pointless to me." We were all in shock by this. "And since Luz is human and we live longer than humans, we'll outlive her, assuming things don't go wrong until then."
"Well, that escalated quickly and got completely dark and morbid for no reason." Gus observed. "And here I thought you liked the day and dressing up as Chief O' Bailey and I as Captain Avery."
"I did until Belos ruined everything."
"Wow! And to just think you were a precious cinnamon roll until he showed up."
"I don't know why you are comparing me to a human pasty right now."
"Well, anyways, no need to be a Debbie Downer, dude."
"I do not know who she is."
"Then don't be a Negative Nancy or a Pessimistic Patty."
"I don't know who they are either. Who are these women and why are they so depressed? You think that since I'm a teen that I should know what a normal teenager my age knows, but I don't. I don't because I was cooped up in the castle for so long, and once again, it's all Belos' fault!"
"I think Hunter is still a little upset about Flapjack." Willow stated. "Let him try to calm down on his own. I'll talk to him later." We all agreed. Hunter groaned in frustration.
"I'm not upset!" He argued. "Witches, humans, animals, palismen die every day. It's a fact of life. I moved on. I know that Flap's not coming back and I will never hear his little chirp ever again. So, let's stop this nonsense and get to work, alright?!" He got to work.
"Again, I'll talk to him." Willow told us. We agreed and resumed working.
Luz's birthday came and went. And we let it come and go without any celebration whatsoever. I still can't understand why she didn't want to celebrate, but it's her birthday and she can do whatever she wants.
I then had an idea. Maybe we can celebrate it after the Isles is rebuilt. I told Camilia and my friends about my plan. They all loved it and agreed. Even Hunter to my surprise. Willow must have talked some sense into him.
I can't wait for the day until we are finally done rebuilding everything. It'll be long, but I know it'll be well worth it and rewarding…for everyone.
