Chapter 62: Special Moves!
The next day which is Tuesday...
"I'm looking forward to the afternoon class mates." Davis started a conversation as he ate a piece of bacon. The 5 boys are in the dining hall having their breakfast.
"Ah yes, the one where we train on our awakened powers and create our own special moves." said Archie as he spread butter on his pancakes. "It was just yesterday night that Sensei sent us the message regarding today."
"This might be difficult. I mean, my X-ray vision doesn't do a lot." said Cruz.
"I feel you man. I can only use my archive and I have no idea on any special move related to it." said Jeong.
"Hey lighten up guys." Kappei spoke to them. "You guys have amazing powers. Anything is possible when you understand it's potential. It doesn't matter whether it's usage is offensive, defensive or support. What matters is how you can harness it, make it useful and show everyone your true strength."
"Whoa...thanks man. Never thought you'll say something wise." said Cruz.
"Kappei's wisdom is simple and encouraging. That is why it was worth electing him as our class president." said Jeong.
"I can agree with that wholeheartedly!" said Archie.
"Same with my smoky mate here! Cheers!" Davis has his glass of apple juice in his hand and raised up as the 5 boys had a toast. Gumchi also joins in with a glass of mango juice by holding the bottom of the glass.
In class...
Everyone is here as they waited with some revising their subjects while others discuss interesting topics.
"Yesterday, there's this popular freshman named Ivy. Heard she's the Madonna of the freshman year." Chantelle chat with some of the girls.
"Her looks are so alluring that a lot of boys from her batch to our batch and to our seniors are attracted to her like a magnet." said Lucia.
"Anything else about her?" Ting Ting asked.
"I heard her parents are well-known ninjas that achieve perfection in the missions assigned to them. They are said to operate around France." said Vega and she's chewing gum.
This conversation is being heard by Emma thanks to her extreme hearing. But somehow, she looked up to her left as in front of Chantelle and the girls, Colette and Marcel are both feeling uneasy while reading their geography textbooks. But she shrugged it off to herself and continued listening to her pop songs. The one she's listening now is
Sensei Tatsu arrived as everyone looked at him. "Hi! Hi!" Gumchi greeted from the table as he nodded at him with a smile. Math lessons begin as trigonometry gets more challenging during his explanation on various shapes overlapping each other like the trapeziums, circles, rhombuses, squares and many more.
After Math, Physics as everyone recap the heat energy, light energy and electrical energy topics. And finally, PE with Coach Spruce organizing 2 football teams to play against each other. Everyone got the chance to kick the ball with some managing to score goals but in the end, the MVPs are Cruz, Hank and Kurt thanks to their experience in this sport and their membership in the football club.
Later on after lunch...
For the ninja training, it takes place at a battle arena at the top level as all of Class 2-A is gathered and suited up in their ninja outfits. "This is where you can train on your awakened powers. Find ways to harness the potential in it and by using your creativity, you can create your special moves." Sensei Tatsu briefed the students.
"Some of us have already created our special moves FYI." Avitus brought up.
"Yes some of you did use them in the tournament last year and commonly speaking, many freshmen at the start of their first year have easily created some already." Sensei Tatsu replied.
"Anything else we should know?" Nichelle asked.
"Yes. Special moves are one thing but, there are also ultimate moves." He replied amazing the whole class. "Ultimate moves are the most powerful moves created from one's awakened power. A minimum of one is necessary but yes, you can also create a few more depending on the level of creativity you have in your mind. However, we only start on the ultimate moves next year."
Everyone murmured about it as, "Now if nothing else, start training on your awakened powers." Sensei Tatsu ordered as all went to the battle arena.

And with that, everyone started training on their powers.
Emma danced while her hearing is active, Archie smoked into his cloud form and swirled around, Miyumi phased through slabs of walls by running back and forth, Marcel morphed his fingers into gun muzzles and fired bullets at target dummies, Harry unleashed energy waves on a steel block continuously, Jeong surfed through his webpage, Davis worked on melee attacks with his photon blade as he slashed the air with it, Vega and Nichelle morphed into their animal forms and ran on a treadmill together while Shane morphed into his crocodile form to swat his tail on a punching bag with Lucia who's doing some combo attacks with her metal coated fists, Declan manipulated the electricity around his voltage field, Anais danced and lashed her lightning chains onto a target dummy, Midori screamed her hyper voice for several seconds and stopped to drink some water and to repeat this cycle of training, Kolton and Slick trained on their projectiles, Cruz made use of his eyes as he scanned through anything he sees, Maeve trained on her mirror image creation and recall, Colette used her fashion expertise on a dummy dressing it with various outfits, Bull got his hammer arm ready and hammered large nails that spring back up after he hammered them deep enough, Declan trained on his opening and closing of his portals, Kurt trained on his magnetism on various metals in which some are small and others are big, Hank ruptured target dummy and another respawned and he ruptured it again and again in an endless cycle, Chantelle trained on her ice crystal usages, Ting Ting trained on her red heart creations, Joey kept punching the ground while training on the energy shield durability, Yamikage did lots of shadow merging and jumping, Avitus trained on his blue flames to burn hotter and longer, Mikelus trained on his shooting skills by firing plasma bolts at target dummies and finally, Kappei just simply sat on the ground and did his meditation as the fire, water, lightning and wind orbs are created and circling around him.
"In these training zones, each of them has been arranged to be compatible with everyone's awakened powers during their training." Sensei Tatsu thought as Gumchi ate a Kit-Kat chocolate bar. "Which apparently belongs to me because you were naughty enough to pickpocket it did you?"
"Oopsee! Oopsee!" Gumchi just laughed and ate it up.

30 minutes later, those that are ready went to present their moves before their sensei and Avitus is first.
"Last year, you executed the Blue Torch Blaze by manipulating your blue flames into a stream of fire shot in a straight line." Sensei Tatsu recalled.
"And today, I can manipulate the flames and launch some of them into a bomb. Like this! Blue Torch Bomb!" Avitus ignited himself on fire as he gathered some flames, created an orb and launched it! A fiery explosion incinerated 5 target dummies into ashes as everyone cheered for their friend and Sensei Tatsu nodded with a smile.
Up next is Chantelle as she created 2 ice crystals, morphed them into ice swords and, "Cyro Twin Cross Wave!" She unleashed a wave of cold air from the ice swords each and the target froze from the touch of cold air. She then dashed in and sliced them in half as everyone cheered also and Sensei Tatsu was pleased.
And then, Marcel morphed his fingers and, "Hailstorm Blitz Fire!" A hail of bullets shredded the target dummy into a million pieces. Excellent job for him.
Lucia then went next unleashed a barrage of metal coated fist attacks on a target dummy. "Metal Boxing Barrage!"
"Where did she learn those boxing moves?" Midori asked.
"From her boyfriend from Class 2-B." Anais answered.
Up next is Kolton as he channeled energy on his hands. "Meteor Shower!" The orb he launched is larger than before and to everyone's surprise, it remained in the air and smaller orbs rained down from it! "Wow, that is really an improvement." Sensei Tatsu thought.
Declan then took his turn as, "Quick Zap Blaster!" From the voltage field, electricity zapped out at his control and shocked several target dummies.
Davis went next as, "I so far have Photon Wave and Slash. Now I have this one! Photon Blaster!" He created a blade and pointed it straight as it fired a photon energy blast. Everyone applauded for him as Kappei gave him a fist bump.
After him, Midori went next. "Vocal Sonic Scream!" She screamed her hyper voice for 10 seconds while everyone covers their ears and some glass panels set up for her shatter and cracked into pieces. "I remember her vocal blast attacks last for 5 seconds...an impressive improvement..." Sensei Tatsu thought.
Yamikage made his move as he entered a shadow and then, he emerged and swiftly unleashed close combat moves on the target dummy. "Behold, the Shadow Fury Surprise." Sensei Tatsu gave him the thumbs up.
And finally, Kappei went next. "I'll show you 2 moves sensei! I've created them before. One, Tempestuous Firestorm!" He fired his fire and wind elements as they incinerated the target dummy. "Two, Oceanic Shock Cannon!" He fired his water and lightning elements as they zapped the next target dummy in ashes.
"The name of the second move is not good enough. How about, Oceanic Shock Stream?" Sensei Tatsu suggested.
"That...name is better than the other!" Kappei then tried again. "Oceanic Shock Stream!" And though the attack is the same, the name is better than the other. And then, the bell rang. "Alright. We'll continue tomorrow. And so far, I have seen some progress." Sensei Tatsu then dismissed the class.
At the hallway, "Have you decided on your special move Emma?"
"I don't know if it's possible Kappei." She replied as she placed her books in the locker. "I danced and used my hearing but can't get to it."
"Then keep trying. Something will get to you and you'll be able to create your special move." Kappei encouraged her.
"Thanks...our powers are gifts and they have their uses." She stated as they left the school together.
The next day...
Same as usual and already, Hank tested out his, 'Rupture Charge Pack' which lets him touch something for the rupture and toss it onto a target and blow it up. Kurt has his 'Magnetic Bombardment' as he magnetized any metal to him and sent them repelling. Archie went next and displayed his 'Smokescreen Surprise' Next, Mikelus channeled the plasma energy and unleashed his 'Rapid Plasma' as he fired short bolts of plasma energy like a machine gun. Anais tested out her 'Chain Shock Bondage' as she wrapped a lightning chain onto a target dummy and electrocuted it. Nichelle morphed into her lioness form and used her, 'Claws of the Lioness' by pouncing onto a dummy and using the claws to tear it. Shane went next morphing into his crocodile form and used his, Croco Tail Swipe' to knock some rubble down and to smash a wooden beam into half. Dedrick is up and he has the 'Portal Arena' which allows him to create 6 portals around and once he goes in, he unleashed speed attacks onto a target dummy and every attack he deals, he enters into one of the portals and comes out from another. After him, Slick tested his 'Twin Seeker' and he now can create 2 orbs that fly up and instantly seek and destroy. And finally, Bull used his hammer arms and demonstrated his 'Seismic Slammer' as he hammered the ground and the ground cracked open and straight onto the target dummy as it toppled down. "At least he didn't break the ground. Otherwise, this floor can collapse..." Sensei Tatsu thought and the bell rang for classes to end.
And on Thursday, Cruz and Jeong finally created their own special moves. Cruz's one is called Optical X-Ray enabling him to see hidden objects and stuff while Jeong has, Archive Expanison allowing him to create 4 webpages and browse through the holographic data with more efficiency. Colette has her Fashionable Disguise which she tested on herself wearing her peers' outfits and a full face mask resembling them.
And then, Vega morphed into her mouse form to demonstrate her, "Rodent Ruckus" special move by scurrying inside someone and attacking the face and she used Davis for this demonstration. "I almost got a black eye from her..." He thought as Maeve went next. "Mirror Clone Image!" She was able to create 10 mirror images and they actually became clones. Maeve then made them disappear as she took a bow and everyone cheered for her.
Harry stepped forth and unleashed his 'Wave Arrow' as he swung his arms and 2 energy waves shot up and waved through and hit the target. Joey tested out his 'Enhanced Shield Projection' and as he slammed the ground with his fist and everyone felt the shield energy around them and it's sky blue in colour. "It seems his shields are more durable than before." Sensei Tatsu thought as Gumchi sipped on an iced latte.
After him, Ting Ting unleashed the 'Red Heart Restoration' in which 10 hearts are created from her hands shaped up for the heart shape. Miyumi tried out her 'Phase Shifter' as she vibrated herself in which she's in her phasing and a projectile shot through her and she remains unharmed.
"Okay...only Emma is left and I think we should call it a day." Sensei Tatsu thought and already, everyone went to leave the class.
And finally...
"Today is Friday and by now, everyone should have at least one special move." Sensei Tatsu briefed the class as he checked his tablet. "As of now, only Emma has yet to come up with one."
"Correction. I have come up with one." She spoke up as all looked at her. She walked to the front standing on the arena as got into her ninja stance. Her ears vibrated and various sounds can be picked up as she maintained her focus.
Everyone was a bit confused at this, even Sensei Tatsu and then, she's done. "This is my special move. Amplified Frequency Hearing. Allows me to focus my mind on the ears to hear sounds from a great distance. Right now, my hearing has reached the city of California." Emma explained.
"Whoa..." Everyone was amazed even the sensei himself. "I knew you can do it." He praised her and, "Congrats everyone. All of you were able to create your special moves. It'll come in handy in the future. So keep training, go the extra mile, perfect your powers and master your shinobi skills with them."
Everyone cheered and class is dismissed early.
That night...
In Kappei's dorm, "Kappei, the answer is wrong. It's 4 over pi." Emma told him.
"Aw man! Sensei wasn't kidding about this year becoming tougher!" Kappei complained.
"No wonder you got most of the math questions wrong." said Emma as she browsed through his workbook. She then browsed through his physics. "You also got some questions wrong in this one."
"You can say that again..." Kappei groaned as he grabbed his textbook and hit it on his head on it. "What are you doing?" Emma asked.
"Hitting the books!" He replied as he hit it on his head again.
"Silly. It's a figure of speech which means to study in a serious and determined way. Which is what we should do when the exams come in a few months." Emma explained. "And don't forget that Sensei Tatsu mentioned last year of some students doing it literally."
"Yeah...and the others should also do the same in their revisions." said Kappei.
"Agreed. This year is different from last year. A true ninja must overcome all challenges and obstacles that will be tested out." said Emma as Kappei smiled at her words. "I'm glad to have you as my lovely, supportive girlfriend."
"You also have supported me and stayed by my side." She replied and smooched his lips as they kissed each other deep for a full minute.
After the homework, "Wanna watch some anime? There's this one called, 'The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten'." Kappei asked.
"Sure!" Emma replied gleefully as Kappei worked on the computer, going to the Nintube website and there, anime showtime!
The students of Class 2-A grow stronger as they enhance their awakened powers. And they also need to work hard on their academics so that they can graduate together. Also, expect more special moves to be unveiled in future chapters.
Even so, I remember watching that one episode in My Hero Academia about Class A training on their special moves. This inspired me to work on this chapter.

Profile
The current Student Council President. In the past, Optic was once the Vice-President until he got the big role after 'Coral' is defeated. He is also the Class President of Class 3-B.
Known to be smart and observant, Optic has shown a keen eye on Kappei thanks to his role in saving the school during his first year. He has proven to be a valuable asset in the student council now that he's taken on the new position. He also has a knack on technology in tinkering with all the weapons he created and to work on some modifications and enhancements. His favourite food is French Fries and enjoys playing video games on the console or at his computer.
Awakened Power: Digital Materialization
This legendary ranked awakened power enables Optic to create weapons and gadgets made out of digital energy in which they all become reality. He can create them anywhere even on his body. As of now, he has created a hundred of those 'toys'.
