The Purge Train moved swiftly, heading toward the Hanging Edge. Lightning, Cloud, and a dark-skinned man wearing a green coat known as Sazh, infiltrated the Purge Train, heading to Hanging Edge. They sat in their seats, guarded, with every train car filled with trained PSICOM soldiers.
Cloud sat in his seat, wearing the Purge Robes, patiently waiting for the moment to strike. Lightning was beside him on his left, and the man in the green coat, Sazh, was nearby.
"You guys are serious?" Sazh whispered.
"Be quiet!" Lightning hissed.
"Best of luck." Sazh whispered for the last time. Both Cloud and Lightning knew that in this kind of situation, luck couldn't be relied on. Only skills could determine the success of this mission.
Suddenly, the train shook violently, jerking all the passengers and making the guards stumble. With this chance, Lightning dashed toward the stunned guard, flying through the air and grabbing the guard's helmet, twisting it violently. As the guard fell, she quickly stomped her boot on the remote lock mechanism, uncuffing all the prisoners' hands.
"FREEZE!" Two PSICOM soldiers headed toward her with their rifles pointed at her. Then, suddenly, a purge robe flew in front of them, blocking Lightning from their sight. It was Cloud who had thrown off his robes. Using a technique once taught by Tifa, he swiftly disarmed one soldier and then threw the unarmed soldier toward the other, knocking both of them down.
"They did it!" Sazh shouted.
Both Cloud and Lightning moved toward the next train car where their weapons were confiscated. A PSICOM soldier blocked their path, aiming his rifle at them. In an instant, Cloud dashed at the front of the Soldier give him a quick palm strike on his helmet and grabbing his rifle to disarm him and thew him on the ground.
Lightning rushed in, guns blazing, using the rifle she took from the guard, creating chaos in the train. When she noticed she was surrounded, she activated her Grav-Con unit, swiftly throwing herself toward the soldier behind her and landing her boots slamming into his chest. Then, she took off again, spinning in midair, shooting three hundred sixty degrees, killing all soldiers that approached.
As another guard approached from behind, Cloud used his heavy boots to choke the guard below him, then snapped his neck ending his misery. He picked up the rifle belonging to the lifeless guard and sprayed bullets at the approaching soldier.
"Hey." Lightning's voice came from behind. He turned to find her already holding Blazefire Saber. "Gear up." She threw the Buster Sword at him then walked passed him and then Cloud caught its handle gracefully, putting his sword behind his back.
Sazh with stolen rifle and pair of rocket launcher aprroched the pair with the purge prisoners armed with weapons they liberated from the armory following him.
"They all want to fight!" He reported.
"They made their choice." Cloud said coldy careless about the other's "I'm heading out." Cloud climbed toward the hatch leading to the top of the Train where he can get a full view of the Hanging Edge. To much suprised for Cloud, the city doesn't looked so far diffreant from Midgar at Night time. Shrouded by green lights and green mist even it's not Mako. Cloud could see a Highway and noticed there is a gun tracers of firefight bettwen PSICOM and unknown rebels group. Few seconds later, Cloud Spotted Squadron of UAV (Unmanned Air Vehicle) belonged to PSICOM flying head-on at the front of the train. Cloud scanned an oppurtunity to take down one of the UAV. By leap in the air performing the Aerial Onslaught slashing the UAV into pieces turning it into a scrap metals.
Suddenly, another UAV was shoot downed. Apperantly someone on the train equipped with MANPAD (Man-Portable Air Defense Systems) fired at the drone but then the drone was crashed at front of the train collied with the tracks causing the train loses it's way to the tracks and the train cars seperated away all over the places.
Cloud jumped to another Train wreck find Lightning and Sazh facing a Giant Scorpion looked like Mech. It doesn't looked so far diffreant from the Scorpion Sentinel he encountered with Barret back in Bombing Mako reactor. The only diffreance is it was painted in light gray armed with Pair of Sawblades in each of its arm and Cappable of Hovering without collidied with the surface of the ground.
Hey, hey! let's be rational now!" Sazh squeked as he inched away from the Mech. the Scorpion thrust it's Chainsaw at them but missed as Lightning Swiftly dodged the attack.
"They're pulling out the big guns, What do we do now?" Sazh panicked.
"We turn it into the Scrap Metals." Cloud walked passed Sazh then draw out the Buster Sword from his back and switching into Punisher Mode fighting stance.
"Watch and learn!" Lightning joined at Cloud's side switching her gunblade into the sword mode.
Thrusting it's Chainsaw, Cloud dodged and then dashed toward the mech swinging his sword and slashing it's left arm. Lightning came into it's right flank and giving the mech three combo slash at the right arm causing a severe damage. While both It's arm disabeled, Cloud leap at the front of the mech performing midair Braver damaging it's front armor plate revealing it's weakspot.
"Do it!" Cloud roared.
"Copy!" Lightning replied switching her Saber into gunmode swiftly flip in midair and fired her gunblade at the mech's weakspot and causing the giant Scorpion launched backward and grabing the Train with it's Chainsaw arm and began vicously shaking the cars.
"Shit." Cloud curses as the train violently shaking almost caused him to fall.
"Fall back!" Lightning ordered as Cloud followed her. Sazh rushing in followed both Soldiers
"Not so tough now, huh!" The afro man shouted but then suddenly the Warmech engage it's thrust booster on it's arm causing the Train car beneth them shaking horribly.
"Hey, that wasn't a challenge now, All right?" Sazh regreting the words he just said.
"Time to go." Cloud said as he jumped to other train car behind them as the Warmech shaking the train violently tried to pulled down from the bridge. As the train car raised into a verrtical, Cloud slide down catched the railing and landed to last train car.
Lightning also doing what Cloud did but then Sazh was still at the train being pulled by the Scorpion Mech and having a difficulty to get away.
"Jump!" Lightning shouted and then Sazh jumped screaming and landed akwardly next to Cloud along with a Chocobo chick gracefuly landed in front of him.
"Heads up." Lightning warned, raising her sword take for fighting stance. Cloud joined at ther side drawed his Buster Sword. The Scorpion mech landed viciously before them.
"This thing…won't give up!"Sazh panted tried to catch his breath and back on his feet. The Warmech's damaged plate armor began split up and revealing it's weapon.
"Careful! You don't want to get hit by that cannon!" Lightning warned.
"Huh!? So, whadda we do!?" Sazh asked panicked
"Find cover and hunker down!" Lightning commanded as Cloud and Sazh takes cover behind the part of the train then the Warmech fired it's Wave Cannon while they taking cover. Then the laser began fade away.
"Now!" Lightning roared facing the mech thrusting her sword at it. But then the Warmech blocked her attack with it's Chainsaw arm. Sazh continued fired his pistols at the mech, but the bullets didn't pierce it's armor platting to damaged the mech.
"Going all out..." Cloud muttered as his body began glow in red. A red lightning energy began emarge out from his body.
"Three seconds to kill it." Cloud raised his sword pointed at the mech. Then he dashed toward it in blink of eye to performing Cross-slash.
Lightning still unable to deal a damage toward the mech. But then suddenly, a red flash light appears from the corner of her right eye sight passing trought her with a speed of light and revealing Cloud glowing in red with energy surrounded him. Giving the mech three combo heavy slash attack leaving a huge cross mark on it's front armor plate. The Scorpion's Internal module was damaged and causing a explosion. The Warmaech was slid off the train side and fell over to the bottom.
Lightning couldn't helped to admire what could this man can do with the power he had possesed. He was really holding back durning that time She was facing Cloud for the first time at Bodhum. "He wasn't serious durning that time... if he does, I wouldn't be here right now."
Satisfied with the victory, Cloud put back his Buster Sword behind his back
"Whew!" Sazh sighed and dropping himself at the ground making himself comforteble "We did it!"
Lightning switch her Saber into the Gun mode and placing it in her holster.
"Hey," Sazh called "You guys are Soldiers right? aren't you guys supposed to protect civilians? You guys with Sanctum, aren't you? Why do you want to stop the purge--"
"I was a soldier" Lightning replied and then leaped off to another train car bellow leaving both men behind.
"Well, that was quick. What about you Spikey?" Sazh sarcastically tried to keep the conversation alive. Cloud had no desire to tell where he was from. As far as he know, only Lightning knew that he wasn't from this world. Ignoring the Afro man's question, Cloud also leaped down, heading towards where Lightning was.
"Can't tell huh? That's fine." Sazh sighed as he began following Cloud.
Cloud catch up with Lightning who was getting in a cover behind a debris. Lightning noticed Cloud approched and giving him a signal to stay low and then Cloud nodded taking behind pile of rubble. Taking a sight of PSICOM Soldiers and pairs of cannies. Sazh approched Lightning from behind and she placing her fingers on her lips and glaring at Sazh to tell him to be quiet.
"Not wanting to get Purged, I get, but taking on trained soldiers?" Sazh said quietly
"Better to die than get sent to Pulse. It's hell without the brimstone"Lightning replied flatly
"Well, hell's not sounding too bad 'cause this place ain't exactly paradise"the afro haired man says sarcastically. Lightning gave another hand signal toward Cloud teling him to prepared for an ambush. Cloud nodded and then give her another hand signal telling her "I'm ready."
"Domesticated peacekeepers, nothing to worry about"
"Maybe for you guys, but I ain't no soldier—hey, hey!" Sazh chasing the Soldiers as they drawed their weapons. Cloud slowly approched as the cannies beast caught his scent and both of it charge at the blondie swordsman. Instantly, Cloud draw his sword and swing at the cannies that approched him and the cannies are cutted in half.
As the PSICOM Soldiers are distracted by witnessing their cannies being torn apart, it was Lightning's Chance to strike at her oppenent. Striking both soldiers from behind.
"Damm You guys really didn't mess around. Glad I didn't have to run into likes of you guys." Sazh says and Ignored by both soldiers as they continued their pace, but then stopped by an crashed aircraft right front of them causing the bridge front of them collapse
"Do we turn back?" Sazh suggested
"It take us a lot of time if we turn back" Cloud says and then pointed toward another bridge in distant. "There." Cloud apporched the edge and then leap free falling. Using the grappling gun, Cloud swing himslef as the wire reached the otherside of the bridge made it into the other side.
Lightning walk slowly at the edge of the bridge scanned the height of the bridge. Snapped her fingers, she activated her Grav-con Unit making her weight more lighter like a leaf and ready to leap from the bridge.
"Hey,hey, HEY!" Sazh shouthed then catch Lightning and holding her waist tightly.
"Let go!" She roared tried pushing the Afro haired man off her.
"Hell no! You're my only way out of here!" Sazh shouted not letting her go. Cloud noticed the commotion from distance and watched Lightning being grabbed by Sazh. "That dumbass..."
Lightning flicker her finger again tried activated her Grav-con again. But nothing happend only the sparks "that moron ruined this thing. Gonna need an alternative route."
"Hey, that might get us across!" Sazh pointed at the small gondola then Lightning nodded in agreement. Approched at the edge again giving Cloud another hand signals telling him meet at the other bridge.
Cloud nodded and ventured on his own to rendezvous with Lightning and Sazh. Passing trought the battlefield filled with PSICOM forces and Rebel faction, he avoided the unecesary fight to make sure didn't draw PSICOM forces to chasing him.
After minutes of walking, It didn't take long time for Cloud that the Squad of PSICOM Soldiers suroude him and had ambushed him from every direction. their uniform is Dark Gray with purple stripes and Purple Visor on their hemets.
"You're surrounded, Drop your Weapon or we will use Lethal force!" PSICOM Officer barked. And as usual, Cloud didn't give in and draw his Sword taking his Operator Mode Fightning stance.
"Fire!" The soldiers fired their rifle toward Cloud Spraying their bullets in every direction causing a large smoke rising up at where Cloud standing. As the smoke dissapear, Cloud is no where to be found.
"What the? Where did he go?" One of Soldier asked started tense up. Before anyone noticed, Cloud already behind on of Soldier and then Swing his Sword and killing one of Soldier, in blink of eye, he instantly warped toward another Soldier by Performing Triple Slash and killing another There Soldier in cold blooded.
"Kill him! Shoot the bastard!" Another Soldier shrieked in terror after witnessing his teamates being torned apart. After killing the entire Squad of Soldiers, Cloud noticed there only one left. His cold Mako eyes keep looking at the one wounded Soldier begging to be spared.
"I-I don't wanna die! Please!" The last surviving soldier shrieked in terror begging his life, But Cloud ignored and Slowly apporched him, Stab the unarmed Soldier and leaving his face stained with Blood of his kill.
Cloud noticed a radio voice coming from the dead soldier and pick the radio listening their comms.
"Attention to all PSICOM tracker unit operating in this region. A new order came from Colonel Nabaat: a capture mission of the most wanted fugitive. The target is a Blondie man armed with a buster sword. highly dangerous. I repeat: the fugitive is a Blondie Man armed with a buster sword. Over and out."
Author's Note: well guys another Chapter made it. Sorry for taking it so long. Got a lot of work stuff to do these days.
Recap time. Lightning, Cloud and Sazh had finally made it into the Hanging Edge by infiltrating the Purge Train. I figured maybe Cloud should also had Unarmed Combat Technique like Lightning did at the opening of FFXIII. So literally I let him do the Krav Maga. The disarm self defense technique developed by IDF (Israeli Defense Force) at PSICOM Soldiers durning that scene.
To keep it shorts, Cloud remember the basic of CQC. :P (those who played Metal gear solid 3 will understand the referance.)
Apparently, PSICOM is really intrestead in Cloud and sending Tracker units to capture him. They sure really wanted him so bad lol.
So what do you guys think of Cloud and Light hand signals interaction? since they both are a Millitary personnels. maybe they should do that more often.
