Naruto looked Takashi in the eyes, waiting for him to make the first move. 'Let's see what this guy can do,' thought Naruto. His smile never left his face while he was still focusing on his mana, letting it pulsate around him.

Takashi hesitated for a moment, seeing this ridiculous amount of mana that vibrated off Naruto's body. 'Is he the reason our spies all died? I thought the Gremory Clan was responsible for the killing of our spies that we sent to Tokyo. But I would bet my money on this guy,' thought Takashi.

"Don't you come? Well, then, I guess I will make the first move," said Naruto before he was suddenly right in front of Takashi's face.

"What the-? " Takashi could barely bring his spear before him to block the fist that shot forth. His arms trembled when he was sliding back over the ground, hitting the wall with his back. He gasped when he crashed into the wall.

'What the hell?! What is this power?' thought Takashi, looking at Naruto. Naruto still stood there with his arm outstretched, looking at Takashi. Takashi took two steps away from the wall and looked at his arms. They were trembling a little from the pressure they had to endure the moment he blocked Naruto's fist punch.

"Your reaction time is good," said Naruto. 'And he used his spear to block my fist, not his limbs like I thought he would. That means his understanding of spearmanship is deeper than I thought.' Thought Naruto.

Takashi frowned and readied himself before he shot forth at blinding speed, thrusting his spear forward to hit Naruto's heart. Naruto waited for the last second to step aside to dodge the thrust attack.

He whistled when Takashi didn't stop in his charge but used the momentum he had built up to spin himself around to kick Naruto in the face. Naruto barely had time to react but ducked in time to let the leg pass over him. Takashi shot past Naruto and stabbed his spear into the ground to stop himself.

He used his spear in the ground to use it as a stepping stone to jump up high in the air, holding his hand over his head. Naruto could feel how the air began to move towards Takashi. 'So he can also manipulate air… that could be a problem,' thought Naruto. He knew how dangerous wind techniques could be. He once was a user of one of the strongest wind jutsus ever created with his Rasenshuriken.

"Yūto, go back and get your allies. I will take care of Takashi and subdue him until you and your friends arrive. It's too dangerous for you from now on," said Naruto, looking behind him.

Yūto looked at Takashi for a second before looking back to Naruto. "I understand. I will go and come back as quickly as I can. Promise me not to die, Naruto!" said Yūto.

"I promise," said Naruto, looking up at Takashi. "As if I would die so easily!"

Yūto turned around and dashed away with his enhanced speed as a Knight. 'Please survive, Naruto!' thought Yūto as he made his way to the end of the barrier that was set up around them. He would need to break the barrier first to get his peerage members. That itself would also be a challenge, but he wouldn't give up until he would arrive with backup.

Naruto could barely see it, but over Takashi's hand formed a tornado. Air itself was normally not visible, but when it was manipulated by someone using some sort of energy, the air itself became visible because of the energy the air was filled with.

A user who could control wind or air would spread his energy around him and make the air that was in contact with his energy his own sort of that he could freely control and shape in any way the user wanted. So even when the air itself wasn't visible to the normal eye, controlled air that was filled with energy from someone was visible enough for someone to react to it. Otherwise, people who could control air/wind would have a massive advantage against their opponents.

"I give you one last chance, Naruto Uzumaki. Join us in our conquest," said Takashi, hovering in the air like he could fly. Naruto could see how Takashi manipulated the air under his feet to let him basically "stand" on a platform of manipulated air.

"Same answer as before," said Naruto. "I don't have anything against the supernatural world."

"So be it," said Takashi, gathering even more wind over his hand. Naruto smiled when he saw the tornado over Takashi's hand begin to grow and become larger. Takashi pointed his free hand toward his spear, which was stuck in the ground below him. The spear vibrated before it shot out of the ground upwards. Takashi caught his spear and began to swirl it with his free hand, bringing his other hand down to his spear. The gathered air that was forming a tornado was now beginning to spin around Takashi's spear.

Takashi went into a ready stance when he himself was surrounded by what looked like armor of spinning winds. Every part of his body and his spear was surrounded by swirling winds that seemed to be able to shred everything they touched.

'I can only guess that everything he touched gets torn to shreds when my instinct tells the truth,' thought Naruto.

"You made your choice, Naruto Uzumaki!" said Takashi. He, all of a sudden, raced down toward Naruto like a meteor with his spear before him, ready to obliterate everything it would touch. Naruto jumped backward to dodge Takashi's meteor strike.

When Takashi's spear hit the ground, massive chunks of earth flew away, and the buildings around Takashi were completely obliterated and blown away by an extremely strong gust of wind that came from the epicenter of the crater Takashi formed with his Meteor Strike attack.

Naruto had to shield his eyes with both arms to prevent dust and dirt from getting into them. The strong wind crashed into his body, making him skid a little over the ground until he stopped himself. When the wind stopped, Naruto lowered his arms and was allowed to see the result of Takashi's attack.

Everything around them was a mess. 'I would do myself a favor and don't underestimate him. He is stronger than I thought,' thought Naruto. Takashi more or less flattened the entire area into a wasteland. Sixty meters around his impact point was everything laid to waste.

"You enhanced your body with mana to escape in the last second, huh?" asked Takashi as he walked out of the crater he formed. The swirling winds were still covering his body and weapon. "So you don't just have this massive Mana reserves for nothing. You also seem to be able to control your mana well," said Takashi, suddenly dashing forth at a faster speed.

Naruto dodged to the side, avoiding the thrust attack. He had to move further backward to avoid the follow-up arc of the spear that tried to hit him with the sharp tip. In one way or another, it was a spear that was very versatile. The spear didn't only have the longest range from close-range combat weapons but also the most versatile techniques that were possible with it. Thanks to the design of a spear, the user could keep the enemy at a distance where the spear user could hit his opponent, and his opponent couldn't retaliate because of the difference in range.

The spear itself was perfect for thrust attacks since this was the most basic attack someone who trained in the art of a spear learns. A perfectly executed thrust attack was so fast that most couldn't avoid it. But it didn't end with thrusting. Thanks to the spear tip that had two blade sides, the spear could also slice things open with enough power and technique. Adding the element of slicing wind currents around the spear, it would be clear what would happen if an opponent were hit by a slashing arc of a spear with so much force like the one Naruto just avoided by moving backward.

Naruto could feel how the wind around him was being sucked toward Takashi. It was like Takashi was sucking the air itself toward him with his armor of spinning winds around his body and spear, making himself like a magnet to everything in close proximity around him.

If Naruto hadn't enhanced his body with Mana to strengthen it, he wouldn't be able to move as freely as he did now. Naruto had to dodge further back to avoid a spinning slice of Takashi's spear just to jump up because of the thrust attack that followed.

"Fool!" said Takashi, spinning his spear once to get into position. His spear pointed directly toward Naruto, who was 3 meters over the ground. "Try dodging that!" His spear became nothing more than a white flash when it shot toward Naruto.

Naruto saw the dangerous flash of white coming toward him at greater speed than before. He smirked and tensed his legs. "WHAT?" yelled Takashi as he saw how Naruto seemingly jumped further into the air, avoiding the deadly flash of white.

That couldn't be possible! Naruto just jumped up from the air itself like he could walk on air! But that couldn't be possible! Takashi was manipulating the wind around him, and something like that shouldn't have been possible in the first place! He never saw something like that.

"You seem a little startled," said Naruto, who fell to the ground a little away from Takashi, out of the range of his spear. "Never saw someone walking on air?" He smiled mockingly at Takashi, who seemed completely taken aback by the situation.

"You really need to focus, Takashi Hayase," said Naruto. Takashi had wide eyes when he didn't even realize in a split second that his concentration had slipped because of the situation. Naruto was suddenly before him as if he had teleported.

Naruto's fist speeded forward like a spear, blue mana visible around it. Takashi was hit in his stomach, making him double over in pain. He gritted his teeth, feeling the strong fist punch from Naruto. But he still smirked, thinking his wind armor would shred his fist, which was in direct contact with it to shreds.

His eyes widened yet again when he saw that Naruto's skin was completely fine. Even when he was touching the slicing air currents that were around his body like armor, Naruto's skin wasn't affected by them.

Naruto punched Takashi against his face his shoulder before he jumped up and performed a strong spinning kick to his face. Takashi flew away with blood flying out of his mouth. He gasped when he was punched and felt the strong force against any single hit he received. The wind armor that protected him against almost everything to this point in time was utterly useless against Naruto, and he didn't know why.

He crashed into the ground, bouncing off it 2 times before sliding over it and coming to a stop. He had to roll to the side when Naruto jumped into the air and raised his leg to deliver a downward kick to split his ribcage. Naruto's feet sank into the ground a little, and a few debris flew away, kicking up dust in the process.

Takashi stood up, spitting out blood and deactivating his wind armor. If it wasn't effective against Naruto, then letting it active was just a waste of his energy. Every second the wind armor was active, it drained on his energy reserves he had left.

Naruto pulled his foot out of the ground and walked a little toward Takashi. "You want to continue?" asked Naruto, raising his hand and making a "come here" gesture. Takashi didn't react to the obvious provocation and instead began to spin his spear.

Naruto's gaze was shifted from Takashi's eyes to his spear. He began to spin his spear all around his body, making it look like a dome of wind began to surround him. Takashi roared once after a few more seconds and made a wide arc with his spear, unleashing an omnipotent vacuum sphere in all directions.

Naruto jumped back and could only look in fascination at how Takashi's newest attack flattened everything around it before stopping at about 30 meters. "You really know how to use air in various ways, I'm impressed," said Naruto.

Takashi didn't say anything and just made multiple swings with his spear, unleashing barely visible air blades that flew toward Naruto. Naruto jumped into the air, twisting and turning his body in various ways to dodge the multiple wind blades.

Naruto landed on both feet and had to spin his body away to the side to dodge a thrust attack from Takashi. Takashi was annoyed at one little detail. Naruto was always smiling during their confrontation so far. His smile never left his face, not even when he was almost hit multiple times.

"What's wrong? Can't hit me?" asked Naruto mockingly. 'Gosh, how I missed this kind of situation,' thought Naruto. It brought back amusing memories when he mocked his enemies during his life in the elemental nations. He was pretty good at annoying others when he was still in Konoha. He got hit by Tsunade multiple times because he annoyed her a little too much before he realized it.

He chuckled, thinking back to all the times.

Naruto dashed forth, sidestepping a thrust from the spear, just to move back a little to avoid the slash from Takashi's spear. Naruto could feel how Takashi's energy spiked before he vanished into thin air. Naruto smiled when he saw this.

"Impressive speed," said Naruto. He could feel how the wind shifted around him thanks to the speed at which Takashi was moving around him. "But that doesn't mean a thing if you can't hide your energy signature." Naruto punched to his left and hit Takashi square in the face. It first looked like Naruto hit nothing but air, but Takashi appeared out of nowhere when Naruto's hand met resistance.

Takashi gasped when he was met with a fist to his face. His mind was clouded for a second before he felt more pain in his chest when Naruto punched him multiple times there before he held his hand before Takashi's chest in a specific position. It was the notorious position for the one-inch punch.

Takashi could only get a glimpse of Naruto's hand before his chest, and then a shock wave was unleashed from Naruto's one-inch punch. Takashi's eyes widened; his nerves were sending signals of pain to his brain, and even when his brain tried to ease the pain with adrenalin, the enormous signals of pain were too much.

A few cracks could be heard when Naruto's one-inch punch was performed. 5 rips of Takashi almost broke while three others broke directly. It was like time flowed slower for Takashi. One moment, he tried to attack Naruto just to come face to face with Naruto's fist before he felt immense pain the next moment. The last thing he could remember was how an invisible force began to push Takashi's body backward. It was everything done in not even a second. Takashi seemingly vanished before Naruto and appeared a hundred meters away as he crashed through a few walls.

Naruto relaxed his body and sighed, looking at the damage that was caused by his fight with Takashi. 'It could be called lucky that everything was done inside a barrier that shifted the place inside the barrier to another dimension,' thought Naruto.

When the barrier would break, every damage done to the terrain would be reverted to its former state. It was a handy ability to have. Sadly, Naruto couldn't cast such a barrier with his abilities. But it was what it was. He wouldn't complain.

He walked forth toward the direction where Takashi flew through a few walls. He had to walk over multiple debris lying on the ground, through holes in walls, and other obstacles. At the end of the path of destruction lay Takashi with his spear by his side, completely knocked out.

Naruto crouched down and placed his fingers over his head before moving his two fingers over various regions of his body. 'He will be knocked out for some time, but he will survive,' thought Naruto.

'I wondered when this would show up,' thought Naruto, looking to his right from his crouched position.

[Congratulation! You completed the Quest! You found out that Takashi Hayase is a member of an organization called Hero Faction. They are a group of humans who want to bring the human race to the top of the food chain. They will use any tool and opportunity to get what they want.

Reward: Sword of Enlightenment]

Naruto saw another window popping up with an image of the Sword of Englishmen and a description of the weapon.

[The Sword of Enlightenment once was a sword handed to an adventurer for saving the village from which it originates from. It was just a simple sword at first, but with time, the sword became known as the Sword of Enlightenment thanks to the many achievements it was used for. The previous user also used an ancient ritual to give the sword a Storage function so it could be stored in a subdimension. This way, the Sword of Enlightenment could be summoned any time the user wants.]

The next thing Naruto knew was holding his newly acquired reward in his right hand. The Sword of Enlightenment was inside a scabbard. The sword itself had the form of a Jian Sword with a black handle with golden decorations and a pitch-black blade. The scabbard was also black with golden decorations. (A/N Look at the cover image and you will know how it looks like sheathed.)

Naruto unsheathed the sword slightly to look at the pitch-black blade of the sword. The pitch-black blade reflected any source of light clearly. 'What a beautiful sword,' thought Naruto. 'I guess I have something new to learn from now on.'

When Naruto got his Mana for the first time, he used every second of his training to learn how exactly he could use his Mana. Since the usage was very similar to chakra, it was easy for Naruto to get familiar with it and master his new energy source. But he never once in his life wielded a sword, unlike Sasuke, for example.

He would need to train in order to use his newly gained reward. It would definitely be better to master the art of the sword. He had seen it many times already. It didn't matter what race… there was always someone who used some sort of weapon. If now a Sacred Gear, a magic forged weapon, or an ordinary one… or even some weapons created out of a magic element like fallen angels liked to form weapons out of light magic. So, having a weapon that he could effectively defend himself with was a thought he already had before he got this reward now.

But he would do it like always: He would train every day, and sooner or later, he would master even the art of the sword. He would need first to gather information about swordsmanship forms and sword techniques in general, but this wouldn't be a problem. The internet in the modern age was like an endless source of information about literally any subject of interest.

"Let's see… I should be able to store the sword in a subdimension if the description was true," said Naruto. He concentrated and could feel how his mana spiked for a second before the sword absorbed some of his mana. The next second, the sword was gone. 'I see; I need to use my Mana to send it to the subdimension,' thought Naruto.

The way his Mana reacted was also burned into his memories as if they were engraved into his brain on purpose. 'I guess this is also part of the reward,' thought Naruto. It would be logical that the System also taught him how to use the storage function of the sword at the same time as he received the sword.

He stood up and could feel multiple demonic energy signatures appear at the edge of the barrier. 'It seems like Yūto came back with his friends,' thought Naruto. He straightened himself and looked at Takashi again. 'I guess I don't need to worry about this guy anymore. Yūto and the other will take him into custody or something like that.'

He looked up at the sky and closed his eyes. 'I guess my peaceful life as it was is over. Well… nothing I can do about it. Maybe this was for the best. To be honest, I missed the little action like today,' thought Naruto. He chuckled when he realized that he had been lucky to be able to live for two entire years without getting dragged into anything.

Naruto Uzumaki just couldn't look away when people he cared about were in danger. So far, Tokyo has been relatively peaceful, and no major threat has appeared. But he got this feeling that more enemies that were stronger than the devils from his school would appear, and he would need to defend one of them on more than one occasion.

Who knew? Maybe this entire situation would turn out better than he hoped. He would wait and embrace the situation like always: straight ahead.

Naruto opened his eyes and saw multiple people landing before Naruto on the ground.

"Yo, Yūto, you managed to come back with reinforcements!" said Naruto with a casual smile.
