As September welcomes the start of the school year, the Grants and Thorntons embark on a time of new beginnings. From first day foibles and teenage heartbreak to an unexpected danger and diagnosis, this blending family fumbles along through some challenging circumstances that only deepen their commitment to one another.

A post-Season 12 adventure that follows our favorite family as they travel to Cape Fullerton and all that their summer there will entail.

This story started as a one shot, in response to a fan fiction challenge from Suspenders Unbuttoned, following the Season 12 finale. It follows after the events of season 12's finale and shows what happens next after Nathan and Allie followed Elizabeth and Jack to Cape Fullerton and beyond. It explores the growing Grant/Thornton family as well as the growing Alliver romance.

Season 12 has ended and another poorly written one for Lucas Bouchard (IMO). My only goal is to write a story for Lucas with a happy ending. I didn't watch S12 but I did see some Lucas scenes. I have taken some of those ideas and incorporated them into this story. If you are interested in a story where Lucas gets a HEA this might be for you.

After a terrible loss, Nathan is trying to put his family's lives back together, while still dealing with his own grief. With the help of friends, he begins to move forward but is determined to do it on his own, despite a promise that he made. Through trial and error, he learns to let others help him, and that sometimes terrible endings can lead to beautiful new beginnings.

Nathan wants to try something a little different. Future fic, not really tied to any specific plot points, so PWP.
