Death of a hero, born as another
Percy Jackson AND Harry Potter crossover book/chapter 5: the arrival at Hogwarts.
Over the next few days, Percy studied relentlessly in preparation for his first day at Hogwarts. His schedule was packed—History of Magic with Hecate on Monday mornings, practical Defense Against the Dark Arts on Monday afternoons, Potions on Wednesday, Transfiguration on Tuesday afternoons, Charms on Wednesday afternoons, Defense Against the Dark Arts theory lessons on Friday mornings, Herbology on Friday afternoons, Muggle Studies on Saturday afternoons, Ancient Runes on Tuesday mornings, Arithmancy on Wednesday mornings, and normal school lessons all day Thursday. He had Divination on Saturday mornings and dedicated the entire Sunday to keeping fit according to demigod standards. On Sundays, various gods, including Athena, Artemis, and Ares, would visit to train him in self-defense.
Days flew by, and soon it was September 9th—the day of departure for Hogwarts. Percy had learned as much as he could, enough to even rival a NEWT-level student in a duel. As they made their way to King's Cross Station, Percy couldn't help but wonder how he was supposed to board the Hogwarts Express since he saw no special train on the platforms.
"Percy, run straight through the third pillar between platforms 9 and 10 to reach the platform," Hecate instructed, as if reading his thoughts.
"Are you sure? Because it looks like a solid brick wall to me…" Percy asked hesitantly, not too keen on crashing into a pillar.
"I am positive. Just try it," Hecate assured him. Without further ado, Percy sprinted towards the pillar, bracing himself for impact. But instead of crashing, he passed right through, emerging onto Platform 9. Before him stood a majestic red train with gold lettering on its side: Hogwarts Express. He let out a breath, realizing he'd been holding it the entire time.
"Woah… is this the train?" Percy asked in awe.
"Yes, Harry," Hecate replied. Percy startled at the name.
"We are in public, so I call you Harry Potter here. Introduce yourself as that too," she explained, seeing his confused expression.
"Oh… makes sense now. Thanks, Mrs. Daly! I'll be going now…" Percy shouted as he hauled his trunk up the steps of the Hogwarts Express and into an empty compartment. Just as he settled in, the train whistle blew, signaling departure.
A few minutes later, Percy saw some familiar faces—his friends Jason, Leo, Piper, Annabeth, Hazel, Frank, Nico, and Will were walking towards him! Excitement and anxiety swirled in his chest, and he barely noticed the red-haired boy speaking to them. The boy had freckles and kind blue eyes.
Knock, knock, knock.
Percy snapped out of his thoughts and opened the door to find his friends outside, asking if they could join him.
"Hi… who are you?" Percy asked the red-haired boy curiously, momentarily ignoring the others.
"I'm Ron Weasley!" the boy said brightly.
"And I'm Annabeth Chase. These are Leo, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank, Nico, and Will!" Annabeth introduced, though she didn't really need to.
"Nice to meet you, Annabeth," Percy replied, smiling—and blushing slightly at her.
"Looks like someone's got a crush on Wise Girl," Leo teased. "But sad to say, her love is for a friend of ours named-"
"Percy," Percy finished his sentence.
Everyone froze, staring at him in shock. Annabeth was the first to recover.
"How'd you know that?" she asked suspiciously, eyeing him.
"I can't say. I swore not to tell until the time is right. But you really are a loyal girlfriend. He'd be proud to have you," Percy answered mysteriously.
"Fine…" Annabeth replied, still watching him warily.
"I never introduced myself, did I? I'm Harry. Harry Potter."
Their jaws dropped. Ron stammered, "The… the Harry Potter?! The one who defeated You-Know-Who as a baby?!"
"Uh… yes?" Percy said uncomfortably, shifting in his seat.
Immediately, Annabeth and Ron started bombarding him with questions about how he had defeated the Dark Lord. Percy sighed. Hecate had warned him about this.
"I don't know. I was only a baby then, so I don't remember. But Voldemort made Horcruxes, so unless we destroy them all, he'll never truly be dead."
The compartment fell silent as everyone gasped.
"You… you just said his name!" Annabeth whispered in awe.
"Is that wrong?" Percy frowned, confused.
Just then, the trolley witch arrived, saving Annabeth from answering. "Anything, dears?" she asked sweetly.
"Yes, ma'am. Four of everything, please," Percy said, ignoring the shocked looks from the others.
"How can you afford all that?" Jason asked, baffled.
Percy sighed. "I refilled my money pouch with Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts, okay? My family's vault had a fortune in there."
Satisfied with his answer, they dug into the snacks. Not long after, the compartment door slid open, revealing Draco Malfoy flanked by two burly boys.
"So… everyone's saying Harry Potter is in this compartment. That's you, isn't it? I met you in Madam Malkin's robe shop the other day," Draco drawled. "I'm Draco Malfoy. And these are Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle."
Ron snickered, unable to hold back his laughter. Draco scowled. "Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask who you are—red hair, freckles, and hand-me-down robes. You're a Weasley."
"Leave, Malfoy," Percy said, his eyes flashing dangerously.
"Why should I?" Draco sneered. "We're out of food, and you've still got plenty, so hand it over." He reached for a pack of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, only for Annabeth to slap his hand away.
"What the—" Draco started but faltered under Annabeth's cold, piercing glare. Deciding it wasn't worth it, he quickly exited with Crabbe and Goyle in tow.
"Thanks, Annabeth," Percy said, grateful.
"No problem. But we should change now; we're almost at Hogwarts," Annabeth reminded everyone.
Realizing she was right, they quickly grabbed their robes and changed. Soon, the train whistle blew again, signaling their arrival. Stuffing as many sweets into their pockets as they could, they grabbed their wands and stepped out of the train, ready for their adventure at Hogwarts.
Well… this is interesting ngl, I'm rlly looking forward to writing the next few chapters but it's not gonna be posted too often. Bye~
