This story is based on the character of Homer Smith from William E Barrett's Lilies of the Field and The Glory Tent and merges them in with my previous Homer fanfics and the filmic versions of Homer. It takes place soon after the events of The Glory Tent. Homer decides to stop off in Elkhart, Indiana. He meets with the kindness of strangers and contemplates settling down.
