"Don't look at me like that." DIO muttered as he took a sip of wine.
"Apologies. But how exactly am I supposed to look at the man who birthed me?"
"You're more Jojo's son than mine. You have his idealistic morals and whatnot."
"And yet, I inherited your ruthlessness." Giorno pointed out, "So again. Tell me. How exactly am I supposed to look at you?"
"How about you go get your rival and get him to change my heart so I'll start paying attention or something?" DIO grumbled, "I've honestly grown bored of world domination and could care quite less. Aside from that, isn't there a Senzu garden that you could be attending to?"
"I've used Gold Experience to make sure everyone has at least ten they can keep on their person. Now again. How the hell am I supposed to look at you?"
"How about you don't?" DIO suggested, "I've told you already that you have more in common with Jojo than you do me. Go play catch with him or something."
"He invited you, you know." Giorno pointed out.
"Of course he did. Dammit. Why can't he just hate me?" DIO bemoaned.
"You actually want him to hate you?" Giorno questioned.
"It would make living with the things I did a bit more bearable." DIO sighed, "I still don't know why he bothers."
"Same reason as me. We're family."
"Didn't stop Jotaro." DIO muttered.
Giorno scowled as he finally left DIO to his wine. If there was anything the two shared, it was their taste in wine. Though, Giorno liked to think his were a bit more refined.
"I still have no idea why you forgave him." Giorno said as he had Gold Experience toss the ball to Jonathan, "He seems like the kind of person that Diavolo would hire."
"He's still my brother, despite all of it. I dislike his actions as much as the next person, but according to Barbara, he has yet to cause any trouble for anyone aside from a strange incident a while back, though that was somewhat out of his control." Jonathan threw the ball back, only for Gold Experience to catch it.
"How so?"
"He discovered something called a 't-virus' and after some minor experimentation, discovered it was toxic, even to him. But the blood samples he used for experiments were not disposed of properly, and it created an enhanced Plant Drone that caused him and I some trouble when we worked together to neutralize it." Giorno turned the ball into a bird and had it fly back to his other father.
"These 'Plant Drones'. Are they still a threat?"
"Not to our knowledge." Jonathan answered as he threw the ball that had reverted back from a bird towards his pseudo-son, "Though if they are, the incidents are isolated to the point that they are not being recorded on, what was it called again? Radar?"
"I believe that would be the case." Giorno said, "Still, it would be a good idea to search for them to ensure that they are less of a threat than simply leaving them alone. I'll take a look tomorrow afternoon."
"Take Zuko with you. He mentioned wanting to get more combat notes on them."
"Really? What about Sage? She seemed interested in taking a look." Giorno asked as Jonathan used Hamon to flick the ball back.
"She's going to be on a date with Bowser's son. They're a rather cute couple, don't you think?"
Giorno thought for a moment, "It's a rather bizarre couple, but yes. They are rather cute."
The two tossed the ball back and forth between each other in creative ways before Giorno finally spoke up again.
"DIO said he wants you to hate him."
"Of course he did." Jonathan sighed, "Dio is rather unsatisfied with his defeat at the hands of my great great grandson. Not to mention the defeat of his partner at the hands of my great great great granddaughter."
"Buon Dolore, our family is a tangled mess." Giorno groaned, "How am I in the same age range as my great grand niece?"
"Well, Dio has had a lot of issues regarding his humanity. As much as he claims to have rejected it, he can only do so much. Especially here, in a world where his plans are all for naught and he can be defeated by any number of people who would stand against his evil. You included." Jonathan pointed out.
"It's still a bit strange to say, but I feel a bit honored to be complimented so greatly by someone like you." Giorno said.
"It was nothing, really." Jonathan complimented, "While I do have some issues with your ruthlessness, you still have a Joestar's heart. My wife would have loved to have met you."
"That…That means a lot, actually. Having a family that won't shun me… It's rather nice."
In the window, DIO was watching, wondering what would have been different if he had not been so thirsty for power.
Alexis: Tweet chirp… Chirp tweet.
Pinkie: Really? I don't see that being an interesting matchup.
Alexis: Tweet tweet tweet.
Pinkie: No no no. I get the connections. But I just don't see it being that interesting of a debate.
Alexis: Chirp chirp chirp.
Pinkie: Oh yeah. Hype as heck, but the winner's still obvious.
