One cold afternoon, Gwen was with her FBI agent friend Kai-Ming at the FBI headquarters aiding the team with her magic and powers to help them with their cases and missions.
Kai-Ming's recruits are training with new weapons and gadgets combined with Gwen's magic and powers to help them use their talents for good honest work. Kai-Ming supervises her recruits with Gwen at her side.
"Thank you for helping me out today." Kai-Ming thanked.
"No problem. You guys will do good and stop crime and evil." Gwen said.
"Yes, we will not repeat my ex-supervisor Norman Wilcox's mistake with his disloyalty. And I'll make sure my new recruits understand that with our new Inkwell Isles Task Force I've started. I don't want what the Devil did to me to happen to them." Kai-Ming said determined.
"What exactly will they do?" Gwen asked.
"They will study and learn about the Inkwell Isles like I have been doing, and we'll also help solve espionage cases in their world. Help the toons out with reducing crime and corruption. They will need our help." Kai-Ming answered.
"Did Mr. Mayor agree to this?" Gwen asked.
"Yes, we reached an agreement with him." Kai-Ming answered.
"Right. So, are there any missions going on?" Gwen asked.
Kai-Ming gave a blank stare.
"Oh, right. Classified." Gwen said awkwardly.
"However, we have received a report on a possible assassination conspiracy from Mr. Mayor. He thinks someone is trying to whack him." Kai-Ming said.
"Who would want the mayor dead? I highly doubt it's the Devil this time." Gwen asked.
"No. We think it could be someone who works close to him or someone else with a different motive." Kai-Ming said.
"Any suspects?" Gwen asked.
"We do have one possible suspect who might know something." Kai-Ming said as she grabbed a folder.
She pulls out a picture of an acquaintance of Gwen's: Jerry.
"Know this guy?" Kai-Ming asked.
"Yeah, that's Jerry. He's a frequent strange customer of Porkrind's I often run into." Gwen answered.
"We also know he's in the black-market business along with that pig." Kai-Ming added.
"Don't let Porkrind know that you know. He would kill me… again." Gwen warned as she winced.
"Regardless, we need his cooperation. Can you convince him?" Kai-Ming asked.
Gwen cringed at the idea.
"Are you kidding?! He hates me. He won't help me ever. He's a penny-pinching grump who has no friends." Gwen protested, feeling frustrated.
Kai-Ming placed her hand on Gwen's shoulder.
"Gwen, I know you two don't have a good history together. But we need to do this to save the mayor's life and possibly others too." Kai-Ming said.
Gwen sighed deeply.
"The only way Porkrind would help is…" Gwen was about to speak.
"If there was something in it for him." Kai-Ming finished.
"Yes. He will want something in return. He is no pushover." Gwen confirmed.
"Well, whatever he wants, you can give him." Kai-Ming said.
Gwen groaned but knew she didn't have another choice.
Later at Porkrind's Emporium, Porkrind was going about his usual day with selling things to customers and listening to horse races on the radio. He handles a purchase from an anthropomorphic avocado.
"Thanks, Porkrind!" The avocado thanked and turned to leave.
"Whatever." Porkrind grumbled.
The avocado walked past Gwen and Kai-Ming as they approached the wagon-shop. Gwen took a deep breath, trying to keep herself composed. With a little courage, she enters the shop with Kai-Ming behind her. Porkrind looked up and noticed Gwen's presence.
"You again. You got a lot of nerve showing your face in my store kid." Porkrind said, not happy to see her.
"I know. I'm not here to buy anything, I just wanna talk to you." Gwen bravely said.
"Whatever it is, forget it kid. Now get out!" Porkrind angrily yelled.
"Wait! I need your help! We think there's a conspiracy to assassinate the mayor and we think Jerry knows something!" Gwen quickly said.
Porkrind's eyes popped and looked at Gwen suspiciously. He quickly approaches her and covers her mouth.
"SHH!" Porkrind shushed and looked to make sure no one else was watching or listening.
"You, follow me, not here." Porkrind quietly instructed Kai-Ming.
Porkrind leads the humans to a secret underground hideaway under his wagon shop. He has Gwen sit at a table as Kai-Ming sat next to her. Porkrind turns a hanging lamp light on and sits in front of Gwen.
"How do you know about that? Who've you been talking to?" Porkrind suspiciously asked.
"No one. I discovered the plot, not her." Kai-Ming assured him.
Porkrind gives Kai-Ming a stern look.
"Fine, what do you want from me?" Porkrind asked.
Kai-Ming puts the picture of Jerry on the table.
"We think Jerry knows something. Have you seen him? Or do you know someone who has?" Kai-Ming asked.
Porkrind gives the humans a suspicious look.
"Look, we can help you." Gwen assured him.
"How? Unless you got goods in the human world for my shop, I ain't helping you." Porkrind said.
"We actually do. It's right outside." Gwen answered.
Kai-Ming nodded in agreement.
Porkrind gives her another suspicious look. Then he gets up as Gwen and Kai-Ming stood up. He grabbed Gwen by her shoulder.
"Show me. But you better be telling the truth… for your sake." Porkrind warned.
Gwen nodded nervously. Kai-Ming leads Porkrind outside and shows him a delivery van with three young FBI agents. One female agent opens the back of the van and revealed various boxes of human goods.
"We can get you another shipment in 6 months." Gwen offered.
"Three." Porkrind stated.
Gwen looked at Kai-Ming.
"Okay, three it is then." Kai-Ming hesitantly agreed.
"You three, bring the goods inside!" Porkrind ordered the humans.
The three young agents start unloading and enter his shop and place them in the back. Gwen sighed of relief as Kai-Ming patted her back.
"Good job Gwen." Kai-Ming complimented.
"I just got really lucky this time." Gwen said.
Later, all the goods were unloaded and Porkrind gets on the phone with a contact in his shop. After the call, he rejoins the humans outside.
"Jerry's at the Fly Trap doin' business. You didn't hear it from me." Porkrind said.
"Oh, Ribby and Croaks." Gwen said.
"The riverboat club. The customers are rich insects." Kai-Ming said, remembering.
"Yes. I'll take the van too. I've done my part." Porkrind said as he reached out his hand.
Kai-Ming looked at Gwen and the young agents. Gwen gestured Kai-Ming to give him what he wants. Kai-Ming reluctantly hands Porkrind the key to the van as he quickly took them.
"Of course." Kai-Ming said.
Kai-Ming turned to her agents.
"Fly Trap, lets go." Kai-Ming ordered.
Gwen leads the team to the Fly Trap. They hide in the bushes and watch from a distance. They noticed Ribby and Croaks greeting their customers. Gwen turned to the agents who appeared around her age.
"So, what are your guy's names?" Gwen asked.
"Gwen, these are my first recruits of the first ever Inkwell Isles Team for their first field assignment. Agents Barrett, Bethany and Beatrix Connery. They're triplets." Kai-Ming introduced as they waved.
"Nice to meet you guys." Gwen said.
"We heard so much about you Gwen. You're the reason we wanted to join the Inkwell Isles Department in the bureau. We're looking forward to working with you, the toons and see this amazing world." Bethany complimented excitedly.
"Sound like I have fans." Gwen said.
"Bethany, remember why we're here." Beatrix reminded her sister.
"So, what's the plan?" Gwen asked.
"You are going to approach Ribby and Croaks and strike a friendly chat with them. Keep them distracted while we infiltrate the Fly Trap and find Jerry." Kai-Ming briefed the plan.
"For how long? If I keep stalling them too long, they're gonna get suspicious of me." Gwen warned.
"Just give us 5 minutes. Now's a good time to try out the new invisibility buttons you made for us." Kai-Ming said.
Kai-Ming hands invisibility buttons to the three agents.
Gwen sighed, then she leaves the bushes and approaches Ribby and Croaks.
"Hey hey kid! Haven't seen you in a while!" Ribby greeted.
"Hey Ribby. Hey Croaks." Gwen greeted, acting like nothing was wrong.
Croaks wrapped his arm around Gwen and gives her a noogie.
"What brings you by today?" Croaks asked.
Gwen, trying not to show pain gets out of Croak's clutches.
"Funny you should ask that. I had a question for you guys." Gwen answered as she fixed her hair.
"Well, what is it kid? We ain't got all day." Ribby asked.
"I was wondering… Do you guys know what the most difficult punching move is to learn?" Gwen asked.
Both frog's eyes popped.
"What's it to you kid?" Ribby asked suspiciously.
"Because I thought it could be useful to fight the Devil in case, I don't have my magic to fight him with. I just recently had another close call. I didn't have my inkwell." Gwen explained.
"Wait a minute…" Croaks said suspiciously.
Gwen grew worried.
"You wanna give the Big D the element of surprise! Very smart of ya!" Croaks guessed and complimented.
Gwen sighed of relief.
"Exactly Croaks. He'd never know what hit him." Gwen confirmed.
"Well, if you really wanna sock it to him, you gotta…" Ribby started speaking as Kai-Ming and her young agents snuck on the riverboat.
They entered the back of the boat and entered through the kitchen. They sneak past the bulldog butcher Sherman as he was sharpening his axe. They sneak into the dining area and look for Jerry.
"There he is!" Barrett whispered.
They look and notice Jerry talking with an anthropomorphic fly in the back corner.
"Good eye Barrett." Kai-Ming complimented.
The agents sneak to the back corner and wait for Jerry to finish his conversation. After the anthropomorphic fly leaves, the agents take action and ambush Jerry, tie and gag him.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, but we'd like you to come with us so you can answer some questions we have." Kai-Ming said.
Jerry struggled to break free as he is taken to the kitchen. They sneak around Sherman and exit the boat. They carry him into the woods as Gwen noticed.
"Thank you very much for the tip, guys. I'll get out of your hair then." Gwen said as she was about to leave.
Both frogs gave her a stern look, noting they don't have hair.
"Oh, sorry. It's an expression." Gwen apologized.
To her relief, they brush it off.
"Alright, we're gonna cast off." Croaks said.
"Remember kid, timing is crucial!" Ribby reminded her.
'I will, thanks!" Gwen thanked and left the Fly Trap.
Ribby and Croaks board the boat and sail off on the river. Gwen meets up with the agents in the forest as they tied Jerry up to a tree and reveal themselves.
"Well done, all of you." Kai-Ming complimented.
Kai-Ming approached Jerry and removed his gag.
"What is the meaning of this?! I was making a business deal with that rich customer!" Jerry snapped angrily.
"Sorry to interrupt your business dealing, but we have questions for you." Kai-Ming said, keeping her professional composure.
Jerry looked at Gwen.
"Kid! You gotta help me!" Jerry begged.
"Don't worry Jerry. All you gotta do is answer their questions and they'll let you go." Gwen assured him.
"Fine, what do you wanna know?" Jerry asked reluctantly.
"We suspect there's a conspiracy to have the mayor assassinated. Do you know about it?" Kai-Ming asked.
Jerry thought for a moment.
"Well, I did overhear a giant fella in a brown fur coat, a really long nose and a big bowler hat say something about the mayor doing them wrong and want retribution." Jerry answered.
Beatrix wrote down Jerry's statement.
Gwen's eyes widened, knowing exactly who Jerry was talking about.
"Giant, brown fur coat, really long nose and a bowler hat." Barrett repeated.
"That's all I know I swear! You didn't hear it from me!" Jerry begged.
"Calm yourself Jerry, thank you for your help. No one will know." Gwen calmed him down and untied him.
"Thanks kid. I always had a soft spot for ya unlike Porkrind." Jerry thanked and patted her head.
He casually walks away from the group.
"Nice job everyone." Kai-Ming complimented her team.
"So, how do we find this giant elephant?" Barrett asked.
"He's not an elephant." Gwen pointed out.
The agents looked at Gwen.
"He's actually a…" Gwen hesitated to finish her sentence.
"A what?" Kai-Ming asked.
Gwen took a deep breath.
"A giant anteater." Gwen finished.
The group's eyes widened in shock.
"Who is he and how do you know him?" Bethany asked.
"He's called Sidney the Snout. I had an encounter with the mafia he works for." Gwen answered.
"What mafia?" Beatrix asked.
"The Moonshine Mob." Gwen answered.
"You encountered them before when you were collecting the special ingredients." Kai-Ming said, now remembering.
"I can talk to them. They trust me. I'm an equal to them. I earned their boss's respect." Gwen said.
"Can you take us to the underground tunnels? The insect city?" Kai-Ming asked.
Gwen took a deep breath.
"I don't know Kai-Ming. I don't want them to kill me for bringing cops to their hideout or kill any of you." Gwen expressed her concern.
Kai-Ming thought for a moment.
"I have a plan. Gwen, you will go talk to them. While you do that, we'll use our invisibility buttons to overhear, Beatrix will take notes about what they're going to do and why they're doing this. See if you can get some answers without raising suspicion." Kai-Ming explained.
"It's very risky. They're smarter than you think. I should know. Sidney's known to eat bugs who refuse to pay his boss money or double-cross him, and he won't hesitate to eat humans. Just one gulp." Gwen warned.
"Goodness!" Bethany said, wincing at those words.
"Please Gwen, for the mayor's sake." Barrett said.
Gwen sighed.
"Fine, but once we reach the stairs to the underground tunnels, you gotta turn invisible. I can't be seen with you guys. They really hate cops. And I'm not gonna risk you guys getting eaten." Gwen instructed.
"Done." Kai-Ming agreed.
Gwen teleports the group to the fourth isle of the Inkwell Isles. They reached the entrance to the underground tunnels. As Gwen started her way down, the agents activate their invisibility buttons and turned invisible. They follow Gwen as she looked around for Sidney.
Suddenly, she heard a man scream in a high-pitched voice. Gwen looked up and noticed Sidney grabbing an anthropomorphic stick-bug wearing a bowtie and a top hat.
"Mr. Sticky, the boss hasn't received his weekly payment for keepin' yer business afloat." Sidney said intimidatingly.
"You gotta give me more time! I'm really short this week! Business hasn't been well lately; workers have been quittin' and…!" Mr. Sticky tried to explain, thus angering Sidney even more.
"SILENCE!" Sidney shouted, making the ground rumble as Gwen kept her balance.
"Mr. Sticky, you just struck out. You know what happens when you don't have our money." Sidney said angrily.
"Don't look!" Gwen quietly warned the agents.
Sidney stuck out his long tongue and swallowed the stick bug, making Gwen squirm and close her eyes.
After a moment, she composed herself and looked up.
"I see you haven't changed." Gwen said.
Sidney looked around, trying to find the voice.
"Down here!" Gwen called.
Sidney looked down and finally noticed Gwen's presence.
He leaned down to her, making her flinch.
"Been a while since I saw you kid. What are you doin' back down here?" Sidney asked.
"I need to talk to your boss about something very important. Can he spare some time?" Gwen asked.
"What's it to ya? Our old place is blocked off." Sidney asked.
"I need to find out something I think he knows. So, will you take me to see Harold? Please?" Gwen pleaded.
Sidney gave her a suspicious look.
"Fine, but you better make it worth his while." Sidney said.
"I promise." Gwen promised.
Sidney stretched his long nose at her, making her eyes widen and backed up a little.
"No, please don't eat me again." Gwen begged, knowing what was going to happen.
"You know the drill kid. You can't know the exact location of our temporary hideout. And we can't risk anybody followin' you. Especially coppers." Sidney reminded her.
Gwen gulped in fear.
"Can't you just blindfold me and carry me away the old-fashioned way?" Gwen asked nervously.
Sidney leaned closer to her, frightening her even more and fell to the ground.
"No." Sidney firmly answered.
"Fine." Gwen said as she sighed and cowered her head.
Sidney shot out his long sticky tongue at Gwen and sucked her into his long trunk into his mouth.
The agents almost freaked out until Kai-Ming gestured them to calm down.
"Don't freak out! She's still alive! Stick to the plan and follow him!" Kai-Ming reminded them.
The agents calmed down and started following Sidney to their temporary hideout. Inside Sidney's mouth, Gwen used her ink pen to light up and noticed she was once again inside the giant anteater.
"Fine. I guess as long as he doesn't swallow me like Glumstone did." Gwen said to herself.
After a while, Gwen felt herself being sucked up through the long trunk again and was spit out in front of the desk.
"Okay, that was disgusting." Gwen said, wiping the spit off her.
"Here she is boss. The human." Sidney announced.
The chair behind the desk spun around and revealed Hardtop Harold.
"Ah, Gwendolyn. So good to see you again my child." Harold greeted.
"Yes sir." Gwen agreed as she stood up.
"That will be all Sidney." Harold ordered.
"Yes, boss." Sidney said and turned to leave.
Gwen approached Hardtop Harold.
"Here, have a bottle of our special rum." Harold said as he gave her a bottle.
"Oh, thank you sir." Gwen thanked as she took the bottle and put it in her satchel.
"Now, why have you come to me today?" Harold asked.
"I have a question to ask you." Gwen said.
"What is it?" Harold asked.
"What happened to your last hideout? Sidney mentioned this is your temporary hideout?" Gwen asked looking around the run-down office.
"Have you not read the papers?" Harold asked as he handed her a newspaper.
Gwen looked at the front page and noticed a headline that said: "Moonshine Mob Business Shut Down!"
"Oh dear. What happened?" Gwen asked.
"Well, that dimwitted entitled mayor ordered to have our business shut down. So now we have to resume our business here and it's not so good." Harold answered.
"I'm so sorry. What are you gonna do now?" Gwen asked.
"Actually, there is something." Harold said.
"What is it?" Gwen asked.
"We're not too pleased with the mayor shuttin' us down, so we'd like to return the favor." Harold answered.
"Wait, are saying you wanna…?" Gwen was about to ask until Harold cut her off.
"Shh! This is private kid! I had Sidney make sure you weren't bein' followed by coppers!" Harold scolded.
"Sorry, it's just too extreme. Maybe there's another way." Gwen apologized.
"What do you mean another way?" Harold asked.
"What if I could get your old business reopened? Then would you reconsider your plan of revenge?" Gwen asked.
"How would you do that?" Harold asked.
"Who would I need to talk to have your business reopened?" Gwen asked.
"You'd have to talk to the mayor himself. Good luck tryin' to get to him." Harold said.
"Wait, the mayor has taken a liking to me. He'll listen to me since I've done a lot for Inkwell City." Gwen assured him.
"Ah yes, you were recently voted to light up the Christmas tree at the Tree Lighting Ceremony." Harold said, remembering.
"Yes. So please, will you let me talk to him?" Gwen asked.
Harold thought for a moment.
"You have 24 hours to convince the mayor to reopen our business or…" Harold warned.
Harold makes a slice sound, and he slid his finger across his neck.
Gwen gulped as she nodded.
"Yes sir." Gwen nervously agreed.
Harold whistled loudly. Just then, Sidney the Snout approached the office again.
"You called boss?" Sidney asked.
"We're done here. Take her back to the surface." Harold ordered.
"Yes boss." Sidney said.
"Here we go again." Gwen said, dreading this moment.
Sidney once again sucked Gwen up in his long truck back into his mouth. He walked away through the tunnels until he reached the stairs leading to the surface. He stretched his long truck up and out of the hole and spat Gwen out on the ground.
"Why is this necessary?" Gwen asked.
"Boss's orders! That's why!" Sidney answered and walked away.
Gwen took a few breaths until Kai-Ming and the other agents reveal themselves in front of her.
"Guys! You're okay!" Gwen exclaimed.
"Thank goodness you're okay! What are we gonna do? We got 24 hours to talk to the mayor or else the mob's gonna assassinate him!" Bethany said worryingly.
"Sis, calm down. We'll figure this out." Beatrix assured her holding her notes of the meeting.
"I need to talk to him. He'll listen to me." Gwen said.
"But Gwen, what if he refuses to reconsider?" Barrett asked.
"Barrett, calm yourself." Kai-Ming said.
"Are you gonna come with me?" Gwen asked.
"Of course." Kai-Ming answered.
Later, the group teleport to city hall in Inkwell City and entered the building. Gwen and Kai-Ming sit in Mr. Mayor's office at his desk.
"What can I do for you two ladies?" Mr. Mayor asked.
"Mr. Mayor, we believe you're in great danger. We think someone is trying to kill you." Gwen answered, keeping herself composed.
"I see. And do you know who it is?" Mr. Mayor asked.
"A criminal organization. They're angry at you." Kai-Ming answered.
"Wait, is it something to do with that business I shut down in the underground city?" Mr. Mayor asked, figuring it out.
"Yes sir." Gwen confirmed.
"Well, I'm afraid I can't do anything about it." Mr. Mayor declined to help.
"Then, you need to lay low since they'll send someone to whack you. I could appoint some officers to protect you." Kai-Ming suggested.
"No Agent Cheng, I have a public speaking to attend to tomorrow." Mr. Mayor declined.
Gwen thought for a moment, then she remembered something. She reached for the bottle of booze from her satchel and handed it to Mr. Mayor.
"Sir, try their famous booze." Gwen offered.
"Gwen, what is this?" Kai-Ming asked.
"Trust me." Gwen assured her.
"Ooh, what is it?" Mr. Mayor asked.
"This is their rum. It's a real hit with the insects down there. I should know." Gwen said as she opened the bottle, magically made three tulip-shaped glasses and poured the rum in the three glasses. The three each grabbed a glass and made a 'toast' gesture.
"Down the hatchet." Mr. Mayor said.
The three took sips and realized how good the rum was.
"Wow, this is the best rum I've ever tasted." Mr. Mayor admitted.
"Yeah, this is amazing." Kai-Ming agreed.
"Yeah, this is what made their business boom. Now, they have nothing." Gwen said.
"But this is delicious rum. What have I done?" Mr. Mayor said, now regretting his actions.
Mr. Mayor grabbed his telephone and dialed a number.
"Yes, I need you to reopen the Moonshine Mob's business! I changed my mind!" Mr. Mayor ordered.
Gwen and Kai-Ming smiled at each other, knowing the mission was accomplished.
The next day, Gwen joined the Moonshine Mob along with Mr. Mayor celebrating the re-opening of their business. Mr. Mayor approached Hardtop Harold.
"I'm sorry I shut down your business. I didn't know how good your rum was. It won't happen again." Mr. Mayor apologized.
"It better not. Now, have a glass." Harold said and handed the mayor a glass of rum.
Mr. Mayor walked off to socialize as Gwen approached Harold.
"Thank you, sir." Gwen thanked.
"No, thank you Gwendolyn. You were true to your word as always." Harold corrected her.
"I'm glad it's all water under the bridge now with you guys now." Gwen said kneeling down to him.
"I agree." Harold agreed.
Harold gives Gwen a kiss on each cheek on her face, a sign of his respect to her.
Suddenly out of nowhere, a fire blast was fired, making an explosion at the building. Gwen managed to use her ink pen to create a force-field to protect herself and Harold.
"What was that?!" Gwen fearfully asked.
"It is an attack!" Harold angrily answered.
Gwen looked and noticed her most hated enemy the Devil emerge from the smoke with an evil grin.
Mr. Mayor gets up from the impact of the blast and stood his ground.
"Leave this place immediately or you'll be arrested!" Mr. Mayor angrily yelled.
The Devil laughed at the mayor's threat.
"What's the matter pipsqueak? Am I ruining your party? Aw… Good!" The Devil taunted.
Mr. Mayor grumbled at his insult.
"But I'm not here for you." The Devil continued.
The Devil turned his attention to Gwen.
"There you are my dear. I'm getting tired of waiting and you fighting me. So, I decided I'm not gonna stop until I have you in my clutches and I will marry you so I could use you to conquer the Inkwell Isles, and the human world too." The Devil evilly declared.
"Yeah, yeah. I heard it too many times already! I'm still gonna fight you!" Gwen snapped.
"I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation dear. Your wedding with that idiot boy is this spring and I'm running out of time and patience. So, I'll be bringing on the Armageddon, which I'm gonna do with your help after we're married." The Devil grimly explained.
Gwen started to worry, knowing the Devil wasn't bluffing.
"Just come quietly and nobody gets hurt. Not the boy nor your family or your friends. Even the army you've been secretly building." The Devil calmly warned and revealed.
Gwen put her ink pen back on her belt and raised her hands up.
"Fine, you win." Gwen answered calmly.
"There's a good girl. Now, come along." The Devil ordered.
Gwen walked calmly towards the Devil. But before he could grab her arm, bright lights beamed from her hands blinding the Devil.
"AAHH! CAN'T SEE!" The Devil yelled.
"Not!" Gwen taunted.
Gwen summons her magic carpet Cerulean Bolt, hopped on and flew away from the party. The Devil regains his eyesight and angrily glared.
"You're not getting away this time!" The Devil angrily called.
He shapeshifted into his dragon form and flew after her. He shot a fire blast from his mouth. Cerulean Bolt dodged his attacks until the Devil surprised them with a fire blast shot from underneath, hitting Cerulean Bolt.
"NO!" Gwen cried.
Cerulean Bolt was caught on fire and started falling toward the ground. Gwen magically puts out the fire and braced for impact.
Out of nowhere, two of the Moonshine Mob fly thugs grab her upper arms and lift her up in the air.
"You need a set of wings of your own kid." One thug said.
"Thanks." Gwen thanked.
Two other fly thugs carry an injured Cerulean Bolt.
"Cerulean Bolt!" Gwen cried.
"Don't worry kid. He's alive." Another fly thug assured her.
Gwen sighed of relief. But her relief didn't last when the Devil in his dragon form was closing in on her.
"Don't get too comfortable dear. No one can save you from your fate!" The Devil said as he prepared to snatch Gwen.
Suddenly from above the Devil, Kai-Ming leaped on his back.
"Wanna bet?" Kai-Ming angrily asked as she held up her gun.
Kai-Ming shoots the Devil with her magically enhanced gun at the Devil's head.
"OWWW!" The Devil cried in pain.
Kai-Ming quickly jumped off the Devil and activated a device that made her float down to safety. The Devil glared down at Kai-Ming.
"Did you miss me?" Kai-Ming asked.
"You again you nosy agent!" The Devil yelled.
The Devil tried firing his attacks at Kai-Ming, but she is quick to use her new abilities Gwen helped bestow her uniform with to fight back and dodge his attacks.
"What the?! You've gotten powerful?!" The Devil asked shockingly.
"I had a little help." Kai-Ming answered.
The Devil looked at Gwen as she shrugged. The Devil growled and whipped his tail, knocking Kai-Ming against a wall, injuring her.
"No!" Gwen cried as the flies carried her away.
The Devil prepares to kill Kai-Ming as he grasped her in his hand.
"You really should have kept your nose out of my business Kai-Ming. I thought I made it clear to you and your boss." The Devil reminded her.
"If there's a catastrophic diabolical plan that involves destroying the two worlds which I recall is called the Armageddon, then it is our business and we're going to do something about it!" Kai-Ming weakly argued back.
"How cute of your determination. Pity, you won't be around to see the Armageddon for both worlds.
Kai-Ming flinched as the Devil prepared to breath fire at her when suddenly…
POW!
"OUCH!" The Devil cried.
Various blasts were fired as Barrett, Bethany and Beatrix shot from their enchanted weapons at the Devil. Kai-Ming falls from the Devil's grasp and Barrett catches his supervisor, saving her life.
"Thanks." Kai-Ming thanked.
"Don't thank us yet." Barrett said.
Bethany and Beatrix kept attacking the Devil until he fell to the ground. Barrett ran up and pinned the Devil to the ground.
"Stay down!" Barrett yelled.
Kai-Ming angrily approached the Devil, despite her injuries.
"You got reinforcements! And powerful weapons!" The Devil exclaimed as he shapeshifted to his original form.
"That's right Devil! We are a brand-new department of the FBI, and we're dedicated to stop you from commencing the Armageddon and to protect both the worlds from your wrath." Kai-Ming said, feeling brave.
The Devil weakly tried to stand up.
"Maybe. But I'm afraid you all signed your death warrants." The Devil said as he raised his pitchfork.
Before the Devil could attack…
POW!
A powerful energy blast was fired at the Devil. Gwen walked up to the Devil now furious than ever.
"You nearly destroyed my magic carpet; you nearly killed Kai-Ming, you threatened my family and friends and now you've declared to bring Armageddon to the two worlds!" Gwen angrily said.
Gwen fired a lava blast at the Devil her hands. The Devil laid injured as he looked at Gwen in terror.
"What the? You have the other 3 elements in you?!" The Devil asked shockingly.
Gwen grabbed his neck and raised him up. Her hand started turning into metal, thus tightening her grip.
"That's right. It turns out I also have the energy, lava and metal elements inside me too!" Gwen revealed.
Gwen teleports herself and the Devil back to Hell and mercilessly beat him up with her elemental powers.
"If you declare war on me, my family and friends; I'll be ready to fight and defeat you for good!" Gwen threatened and disappeared.
Gwen aides Kai-Ming and the Connery triplets recover. They regroup at FBI Headquarters and Kai-Ming was magically healed along with Cerulean Bolt.
"That was a close one. He could've killed you both." Gwen said worryingly.
Cerulean Bolt flew up and checked out the three agents as they are awestruck at his presence.
"I know. This proves he's growing more violent with his attacks and now he's really gonna start hurting or killing anyone who gets in his way." Kai-Ming said.
"I can't endanger my family and my friends anymore." Gwen said, feeling guilty.
"Gwen, what did I say? Don't blame yourself. You know being in the FBI is very risky." Kai-Ming reminded her.
"I know, but who knows how worse it'll be next time." Gwen said.
Gwen walked away to think while the triplets check out Cerulean Bolt. Bethany hops on the magic carpet and he flew her around the training arena.
"Show off." Beatrix said.
"Maybe magic carpets like Gwen's could be useful to us for our missions." Barrett said.
"Yes, flying would become useful for escapes and infiltrating." Beatrix agreed.
Cerulean Bolt landed in front of them as Bethany stepped off.
"I'd love a magic carpet of my own." Bethany said.
"We'll discuss magic carpets another time. We got serious matters to attend to about the Armageddon." Kai-Ming reminded them.
"Yes, ma'am." All three said together.
Kai-Ming approached Gwen.
"Gwen, what are you thinking?" Kai-Ming asked.
Gwen paused and looked at Kai-Ming.
"I think… I need to go into hiding for a while." Gwen reluctantly answered.
"But Gwen, he can show up anywhere anytime in the two worlds. You can't hide from him anywhere." Kai-Ming argued.
"There is… one place he cannot enter or find me." Gwen revealed.
"Where?" Kai-Ming asked.
Gwen took a deep breath and privately revealed her new goddess status and powers and the palace in heaven made just for her.
"Wow, the gods are real and made you a goddess. That really explains your new powers as the Devil mentioned." Kai-Ming said, amazed.
"Yeah. You promise to keep this between us?" Gwen asked.
"You know this is all classified." Kai-Ming reminded her with a wink.
"But I'm still gonna go into hiding. I don't know for how long, but I can't endanger anyone." Gwen said, sticking to her plan.
Kai-Ming realized she can't talk Gwen out of her decision.
"But what about Clarence and the cups? He could use them as leverages like before to draw you out." Kai-Ming pointed out.
"Then, they can all hideout with me." Gwen answered.
"And your family and friends?" Kai-Ming asked.
"I'll have a protective spell put on them. I have a witch friend who has a powerful protection spell." Gwen said, referring to Temperance from Salem.
Later, Kai-Ming and Gwen are at Temperance's cottage.
"So, you want me to cast a protection spell on your family and friends to protect them from the Devil while you lay low?" Temperance asked, trying to understand.
"Please Temperance, do you have a powerful protection spell?" Gwen asked, pleading.
Temperance thought for a moment.
"Let me see what I can do." Temperance said.
She grabs her spell book and looks for the most powerful protection spell.
"I got just the spell for you." Temperance said.
"Thank goodness." Gwen said, feeling relieved.
"You sure about this?" Kai-Ming asked.
"I'm sure. Temperance is an expert at this stuff. I've seen her do it." Gwen answered.
"Thank you." Temperance thanked.
Temperance grabbed a sack of sea salt and drew a symbol of a pentagram on the floor. She places 5 black candles at the 5 points of the pentagram and lights them.
"Gwen, sit over here." Temperance said and pointed to the center.
Gwen sat in the center of the pentagram. Temperance grabbed a bowl and stick and splashed holy water on Gwen's forehead.
"Now, keep all the loved ones you want protected in your mind." Temperance instructed.
Gwen nodded as Temperance took a deep breath.
Temperance raised her staff as wind started blowing around them. Kai-Ming is shocked at Temperance's witchcraft.
"Cinere ad cinerem
Pulvis pulvis
Tolle hanc meam
Pellere hoc malum!" Temperance chanted 13 times in Latin.
Temperance snuffed out the candles as the smoke from the last candle formed a Devil symbol.
"The spell is cast." Temperance confirmed.
"Thank you for all of this Temperance." Gwen thanked.
"Anything for you Gwen." Temperance answered.
Gwen and Kai-Ming leave the cottage and return home.
Gwen explained the situation to the cups and Clarence. Later, she is magically packed all her belongings into her satchel as Clarence and the cups were packing their stuff too.
"This'll be great. The five of us all hiding out together." Cuphead said.
"Yeah, the Devil won't find us." Mugman agreed.
"Gwen definitely thought this through." Ms. Chalice added.
Later, the cups and Clarence join Gwen in her room.
"Are you sure about this honey? The Devil's attacks are really growing more violent?" Clarence asked.
"Yes. He almost killed Cerulean Bolt and Kai-Ming. I can't endanger anyone anymore. I have to do this." Gwen answered as Cerulean Bolt squeezed into her satchel.
"Hey, at least we'll be together." Cuphead said.
"Where exactly are we going?" Clarence asked.
Gwen smiled.
"Get ready for the surprise of your life." Gwen said.
She teleports themselves to her palace in Heaven. Clarence is in total shock at the surroundings.
"Wait, is this…?" Clarence was about to ask.
"Yes, welcome to Heaven. My very own palace." Gwen welcomed.
Her servants all come to greet the group.
"We have everything ready as you requested milady." The lead servant said as the others bowed to Gwen.
"Thank you everyone." Gwen thanked.
The servants collected all their bags and take them upstairs to unpack them in their rooms. The cups go to their spots and play and have fun.
"Wait, how did you get a palace in Heaven? Wouldn't you have to be a…?" Clarence was about to ask.
"A goddess." Gwen finished his sentence.
"A goddess." Clarence repeated.
His eyes widened as the realization finally hit him.
"You're a goddess now?" Clarence asked, trying to absorb Gwen's words.
Gwen sighed, knowing she must come clean.
"Yes, the gods were all impressed with me and made me one of them. But I'm not abandoning my family and friends on Earth." Gwen assured him.
"Wow, you gotta tell me everything." Clarence said.
Gwen leads Clarence and gives him a tour as she explained everything. She hoped her plan will work and all her loved ones will be protected from the Devil as he was once again cooped up in his personal ER for recovery.
