Harry used some of the extra solar supplies to set up power for the Greene household. This was something that Hershel and his family were very grateful for.
Harry also made himself useful by supplying rabbits and deer every day to feed everyone. He was proving himself to be a fantastic hunter. Really he had herds of the animals in his trunk multiplying incredibly fast under time dilation fields.
Harry knew right away about the secret Hershel had in the barn. There was a small crowd of walkers in the barn that Otis had been feeding on Hershel's orders. Hershel believed that the Walkers could be cured. Harry didn't know if the walkers could be cured in the future. He wasn't so sure. But he wasn't about to waste the lives of the living trying to save all of them. But Hershel was doing them a major favor.

"That man is an amazing hunter," Otis said as he and Hershel stood on the farmhouse porch watching Rick walk out of the woods carrying two deer and a string of rabbits.
"Oh trust me, I know," Hershel admitted.
"Have you thought about having them stay on?" Otis asked.
"It's all I can think about. They are really useful to have around. Rick's knowledge of technology, his hunting skills, and even being able to have TV again are all things that weigh in their favor. I'm not sure we could keep up the solar power if they left," Hershel said.
"I agree there," Otis said.
"But what we have in the barn isn't going to sit well with them," Hershel pointed out.
"I think Rick can keep his people in line," Otis said.
"You're probably right. It's just Rick we have to convince," Hershel mused.

It turns out Hershel didn't have to say anything. Harry asked to meet with him later that day.
"What can I do for you Rick?" Hershel asked.
"It's more like what I can do for you. I'm aware of what you have in the barn. Those in there look for the most part relatively intact. They look like they've gotten bit and changed because of the fever. I see you've been feeding them to keep their bodies from deteriorating too much. You're hoping someday a cure may be found. The issue is your resources in livestock to feed them will run out before that day comes," Harry said.
"You are probably right," Hershel acknowledged.
Harry set a dart gun dart on the table.
"This is a powerful sedative which will put them in a coma like state so deep as far as their bodies are concerned a day will be a year as far as resources they consume. We can dose them and hook them up to a nutrient IV. And they'll last for maybe ten years in that state without needing to feed them anything else," Harry explained.
"I've never heard of such a thing," Hershel admitted.
"It was something the government had in their database. I got it from the CDC computer systems while we were there," Harry admitted.
"How do we counter the effects?" Hershel asked curiously.
"Another injection of a different compound I can make," Harry answered.
Harry had charmed the dart to make Hershel compelled not to ask too many questions. The dart was actually a potent dose of the draught of living death.
"This sounds like an excellent solution. If you can make enough we can get those set up in the barn," Hershel said.
"I can," Harry confirmed.
"Thank you Rick. My second wife and step-son are in there," Hershel admitted.
"You're welcome," Harry answered.
"It strikes me that you don't believe we can cure these people yet you are willing to follow my lead when it comes to the barn. Why?" Hershel asked.
"Because it is your farm," Harry said. "Any other walker I encounter away from here I probably won't hesitate to destroy. But these are your people."
"Fair enough," Hershel said. "Rick, have you given any thought to staying?"
"We may choose to move on in the future. But I don't think my people would mind staying here for now," Harry agreed.
"That sounds good," Hershel agreed.

One of the wells on the property had a bloated walker in it. Harry shot it with one of the tranquilizer darts and rigged up a rope harness on a winch above the well. They lifted the walker completely out of the well and then moved it out from on top of the well. They didn't want to risk destroying the walker and contaminating the water further. Even Hershel agreed from its state that this walker was physically beyond recovery even if a cure was ever found. Harry took it quite a ways away from the farmhouse and destroyed it.

Harry set up wards on the property to drive away any walkers that came towards the ward boundaries. This would prevent anymore walkers from wandering into the area. This did nothing for people.

"What are we looking at?" Hershel asked as he sat before a laptop screen.
"An underground facility," Harry explained. "We could build a fortified compound above ground. But that just invites others to attack it for our resources. If it is underground and hidden then they don't know it is there to attack. The more time passes the more likely we are to see warlords emerge. It even has an underground parking area for the RVs with a ramp that can be covered over by a retractable hidden door."
"This looks like something that would be incredibly expensive and hard to get built when there was infrastructure to support it," Hershel pointed out.
"I've already used my access to satellites to scope out the closest resources for what we need. I've found a nearby concrete and rebar supplier and a backhoe. It's going to take us quite a while to build. But I believe it is worth it," Harry said.
"Then let's go find a location," Hershel said.
Path – TWD – Path – TWD – Path – TWD – Path – TWD – Path – TWD – Path – TWD – Path
Harry first retrieved the backhoe. He had positioned supplies closer to the farm. He then got the group going excavating the site. Everyone received training on the backhoe that was old enough to reasonably operate it. It was going to take them a while even with everyone working at it.
He also "located" a stash of weaponry from a prepper in a bunker. The weaponry included rifles, handguns, shotguns, hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammo, and reloading supplies. It also included silencers. In all honesty, Harry located one of the military bases that hadn't been already raided and cleaned it out. He had a lot more weaponry and ammo than he stuck in the prepper stash. But this would work for the group. This prompted firearm training for everyone. With silencers being used it was even relatively safe.

"Why did you call the meeting, Rick?" Hershel asked.
"You all know the walker virus changed me, enhanced me physically," Harry said.
There were nods around.
"Has something else changed?" Lori asked her husband with concern.
"Yes. It turns out it didn't just enhance my body. It also enhanced my mind," Harry said as he placed a small cube on the table. The cube was about six inches on each side. One face had several thick wires running out of it. "This is a cold fusion reactor which runs off of heavy water extracted from deuterium. This single cube can power our entire compound we are building."
"That's amazing," Maggie said.
Glenn had been interested in science before the outbreak and was looking at Harry in awe.
"Our best scientists were working on fusion," Glenn said. "That is amazing. You must be as smart as Einstein if not smarter."
"Now we won't have to use solar panels for the compound," Dale pointed out. "It won't give away our position."
"Exactly," Harry agreed.
The group talked a bit more before they left to go about their day. Harry stayed behind with Hershel. He decided he needed to let someone else in on some of his secrets besides Carl.
"What can I do for you Rick?" Hershel asked having sensed the younger man wanted to talk.
"Will you sign this?" Harry asked as he slipped a short piece of paper over to the older man.
Hershel quickly read it and then looked up at Harry sharply, saying, "You're a wizard."
Harry scanned Hershel's surface thoughts and said, "You're a squib."
"I don't appreciate having legilimency used on me," Hershel said.
"Yes. I'm a wizard. I can talk more if you sign the contract," Harry said.
Hershel quickly signed the contract.
"I suspected the virus was magical," Hershel said.
"I can confirm that," Harry said before going on to tell Hershel about the origins of the virus.
"I left the magical world before the whole Voldemort war came about. I kept in contact through magical newspapers for a few years after I left. But I stayed in contact long enough to hear about Voldemort," Hershel explained. "He sounded worse than Grindelwald. If you killed him you must be pretty damn powerful. Couldn't you wipe out a walker horde with Fiendyfire?"
"I could," Harry confirmed. "I will if I have to. But I intend to keep my magical status on the down low for now. Only you and Carl know."
"You haven't even told Lori," Hershel said with surprise.
"You never met him. But I had a partner in my police work named Shane. Shane was jealous of me. He wanted Lori for himself. He wanted a son of his own. I'm sure you know how jealousy goes. I got shot in the line of duty. Shane was put in a bad situation. He thought I had succumbed to my injuries when the hospital I was in was overrun. He told Lori I died. I hadn't. When I came back I found he had impregnated my wife. I of course magically terminated the pregnancy. I would have let Shane live. But his jealousy had taken over. He pointed his gun at me in the woods one day when he thought I couldn't tell. He didn't pull the trigger. But he still aimed. Then he tried to rape my wife not long before we came across your farm," Harry said while looking at Hershel.
"How did you kill him?" Hershel asked curiously.
"I apparated him into the middle of a walker horde. I left him with a gun and told him the shield I put up around him would fail shortly. I also cast a full body numbing charm on him," Harry explained.
"So basically shoot himself or be eaten alive," Hershel said.
"Yes," Harry confirmed.
"Damn," Hershel said. "So what did you actually give the walkers in the barn?"
"A potent form of the draught of living death. The generator I just showed you uses runes to generate electricity. It is a variation on a lightning spell," Harry explained. "I've devised a better way to store the walkers in the barn. I can put them in a temporal stasis while the matter is being studied. I actually have magical researchers I've summoned back from the dead helping some CDC scientists work on the virus."
"Are you a necromancer?" Hershel asked in confusion.
"Have you heard of the deathly hallows?" Harry asked.
Hershel's eyes widened.
"They exist?" Hershel asked.
"I united them. It turns out I'm descended from one of the Peverell brothers. I summoned his soul. There was information not in the legend. The legend was just a clever story they told. They were researchers into death. They created powerful death related items. They did contact a creature who claimed to be death. As far as they could tell it was death. Death told them that a wizard in the future would unite the hallows. That wizard would become immortal and powerful beyond anything the world had seen. It basically predicted the future," Harry said. "Each morning I wake up there is magical knowledge I didn't know before. Lately it has been knowledge on temporal manipulation. I'm pretty sure I can travel to the past at this point at will," Harry said.
"Could you go back and change things?" Hershel asked.
"I don't know. Possibly," Harry said. "I also don't know if I would just create an alternate timeline and everything would still be the same in this timeline. Hopefully that knowledge will come in the future. I think you might like what I learned yesterday morning when I woke up."
Harry raised his hand at Hershel. A yellow glow shown from Harry's palm. The glow enveloped Hershel. A few minutes later it faded. Harry conjured a mirror. A young man sat where Hershel Greene had been before. Hershel stared at his reflection in awe.
"You reversed my age," Hershel said. "Is this an illusion?"
"It's not. You should be able to feel it," Harry said. Hershel nodded. "You're twenty-five now."
"If you're trying to keep the others from learning of your magic this isn't the way to go about it," Hershel pointed out.
"I'll create you a runic illusion to hide your age," Harry said.
"Thank you," Hershel answered gratefully. "Being an old man in a world like this is hard."
"You're welcome. Let's go see about securing the walkers in the barn under time dilation," Harry suggested.

Harry began using transfiguration and his other abilities to help in the construction of the underground compound. He used magic to prevent the others from thinking about it too much. Hershel and Carl knew the truth of course. He wanted that compound done. He added sections to the underground compound that the others didn't know about. Several magical entrances to these hidden sections were concealed throughout the compound. In reality the compound was about three times as big as what the others knew about.

"That isn't good," T-Dog said as he used his laptop to focus the satellite feed on the walker horde he had just noticed.
T-Dog was currently working watch duty. He quickly realized he'd better let the others know.

Greetings Everyone,
For many years now I have been writing fanfiction (since 2009). I've put out what I have been told is an incredible amount of fanfiction. I wanted to give back to the fanfiction community after I had taken so much enjoyment from it by reading a lot of good works that the authors who came before me had written. So, I started writing. I figured it was a great way to give back.
I completely understand that not everyone's talents lay in writing. I've noticed that many of the authors I follow have created patreo n accounts. I've subscribed to several of them to support them and encourage them to continue writing. Let's face it. Real life can be very tough. One or two dollars can make the world of difference to an author, especially when many people decide to take part. So, please if you would like to see me producing more stories for you to read, please consider subscribing to my patreo n account. The lowest tiers of support are set on one dollar per month. My current job allows me quite a bit of time to write. But real life may be forcing me to go find a different job that pays better than my current job. A job that pays better is not going to leave me with much time to write if any. I want to continue writing. Please help me to do that and keep my current job.
Right now you'll find all the parts of the Walking Dead verse and the first six parts of the Supernatural verse on my patreo n account. So you'll get early access to my stories. I plan to post a new chapter every two weeks on there. And it is the smut versions.
Thank You,
Stargatesg1fan1
