(Beacon Academy docking bay)
Walking out of the airship that brought him to Beacon Academy in the first place, Jaune was nervous, to say the least. This was to be expected from him ever since he was basically blackmailed into attending the school in the first place. On one hand, it was not a nice feeling, but on the other hand, he was glad that he and his pokémon would be fed for the next 4 years.
"Okay, guys. Let's see what this school has to offer us."said the young Pokemon trainer to himself before looking over at Ruby and Yang.
He only knew them by passing acquaintance, but he noticed Ruby freaking out over the various weapons everyone was carrying. He saw her gushing over a collapsible staff and a fire sword. She was soon brought back to reality by her sister, who tugged at her cape.
"Sis, take it easy. They're just weapons."pointed out Yang.
Ruby scoffed upon hearing that.
"Just weapons? They're an extension of us."said Ruby, highly offended.
"Aren't you satisfied with Crescent Rose?"inquired Yang, causing her sister to open up her weapon.
"Of course I'm in love with Crescent Rose. I just love to see other weapons, that's all."said Ruby and her defense.
Yang rolled her eyes before responding.
"Well, maybe you should focus less on their weapons and get to talk to people. You know, make some friends."said the blonde not so subtly.
"Why would I make friends when I have you?"inquired the redhead.
Yang quickly responded by pulling her Hood over her head.
"Actually, my friends are here. So I got to go, bye."said young before she ran off with a group of people, causing Ruby to spin around in the process.
"Wait! Don't leave me."said Ruby while dizzy before falling down.
Jaune then noticed that she fell on the luggage being pushed on a cart by two butlers. Ruby was then approached by a girl around her sister's age.
The growing question had pale white skin, blue eyes, and snow white hair. She had her hair in a side ponytail, wearing a white dress with a matching white jacket with red lining and white high-heeled boots. Her weapon of choice appears to be some kind of rapier here with what appeared to be a revolver function on the handle.
"Is every weapon in this world also a gun?"wondered the aspiring Pokemon trainer to himself, who continued listening in.
"What do you think you're doing?"inquired the crabby girl.
"Huh?"said of confused Ruby.
"Do you have any idea what you just did?"said the mean girl before opening one of her suitcases and pulling out what appeared to be Dust.
"Dust. You know, the most valuable mineral on the planet. You almost caused my butler to drop these valuable substances."said the mean girl while shaking the Dust vile in question.
"Oh no!"said Jaune before he quickly ran over.
"What do you have to say to yourself?"said the mean girl, just as Ruby was about to sneeze.
Jaune, on the other hand, quickly placed his finger on her nose, stopping her from sneezing. He then snatched away the Dust vial away from the crabby girl. She was about to say something before he interrupted her.
"Are you absolutely out of your mind?!"shouted Jaune, surprising both girls.
"Hey, I know you. You're the guy who commanded that fire-breathing lioness last night."said Ruby, although she was ignored.
"This is highly volatile stuff that can explode with the lightest provocation. You're here scolding her for her, almost causing a mess, but you're about to blow the two of you up with your stupidity!"shouted Jaune, who knew all of this as he read about it while arriving to Beacon.
The girl looked at him with shock, like she had never been yelled at by anyone before shocked. She quickly composed herself and angrily looked at him.
"How dare you talk to me like that?! Do you have any idea who I am?"inquired the white-haired girl angrily.
"No, I don't. Nor do I care, princess."said Jaune, not one to back down just because someone is up status.
Status didn't mean anyone to an outworlder, especially someone from another world.
"It's heiress, actually."said someone from behind.
Jaune noticed it was a girl's voice and quickly turned around to see a mysterious beauty approaching them.
She had long black hair, golden eyes, and white skin. She was wearing a black and white top that exposed some of her belly, white shorts, black leggings, black shoes, and her weapon, which appeared to be a short sword was on her back. She also had a noticeable black bow on her hair, but she swears he saw twitching for a moment.
"This is Weiss Schnee, the heirs to the Schnee Dust Company. They are the largest producers of Dust in the whole world."said the mysterious black haired woman.
"Finally, some recognition."said the now named Weiss with confidence.
"The same company is well known for its less than legal labor force and questionable business partners."added the mysterious girl, making Ruby snicker upon hearing that.
"Wha? How dare? Ahhh!"said Weiss before she grabbed the Dust from Jaune's hand and walked off with her Butler's carrying her luggage.
"Thanks for standing up for me."said Ruby before noticing the mysterious girl walking away.
There was that an awkward silence in the air for a couple of moments as what appeared to be a tumbleweed flew through the air.
"So, how are you doing?"said Jaune, deciding to bring up small talk since he had no one to talk to, and he was honestly worried about her.
"I'm really regretting my choices over the last several hours."said Ruby before the two of them decided to walk and talk.
"So how does it feel almost getting yourself blown up?"inquired Jaune, knowing that the two of them nearly exploded.
"Well, I'm glad you'd stop me from sneezing. That would have made that crabby girl even more angry."said Ruby, glad that someone was nice to her even though they just met.
"So you decided to stop a dust robbery last night, and that somehow got you in this school."said Jaune, reminding Ruby of last night.
"Hey, speaking of which. Where's that lioness you were commanding? I really want to know how she was breathing fire."asked Ruby, referring to Pyroar.
"She's in a safe place..."said Jaune, instantially touching his belt, specifically the pokeball containing the Royal Pokemon when he said that.
"Oh... Well, you must have been quite the individual to tame such a beast."said Ruby.
"So... I got this."said Ruby before she pulled out Crescent Rose.
"I saw it last night. I must say, how exactly do you fight with a weapon that's about your size?" Jaune inquired.
"I use a similar fighting style like my uncle uses. He's a scythe wielder as well. Not only can I use it for close-range combat, but since my baby is also a sniper rifle, I can hit targets from far-off distances."said Ruby with confidence.
"So you're a scythe wielder and a sniper. But what exactly can you do if your weapon is taken away from you?"inquired Jaune, causing Ruby to deflate so to speak.
"Well, I'm just not caught up for hand to hand, so I try my best not to lose my weapon."admitted Ruby, sounding embarrassed when she said that.
"Wow."said Jaune, glad to meet someone as awkward as him.
"So where are we supposed to go?"Ruby inquired.
"I don't know. I was following you."admitted Jaune, causing the two of them to go silent for a moment.
"I say we look for the most noise and go there. A large group of people must have gathered somewhere."said Jaune, causing both of them to begin looking for a large amount of sound.
Luckily for them, it didn't take that long to find where they were supposed to go since teenagers are not known for staying quiet. Soon, they headed to the auditorium and quickly made their way through the group of people.
"Sis, I saved you a spot."said Yang, calling out to Ruby from the crowd.
"Hey, it's my sister. Well, it was nice meeting you. But I really need to catch up with her."said Ruby before leaving Jaune behind so she could go over to her sister.
"Well, she seems like a nice person. Now, let's hope everyone here is just as nice."said Jaune to himself before making his way through the crowd.
As for Ruby, she joined up with her sister.
"So, who is the blonde dork you were talking to?"inquired Yang, wondering who her little sister was talking to just now.
"His name is Jaune. He's the guy who was commanding that fire-breathing lioness last night."said Ruby, answering without hesitation.
"Sure, a fire-breathing lioness. I'm sure he just had a weapon in the shape of a lion, and you just imagine things."said Yang, who was skeptical about what her sister told her not too long ago.
"Sis, I'm telling you. He was commanding a lioness. She was big, could refire, and she had a beautiful fur coat."said Ruby before deciding to change the subject.
"So where are the friends you abandoned me for?"Ruby inquired, causing Yang to put her hands up in a defensive position.
"We decided to split up for now.. So, how's your first day?"inquired Yang.
"I almost got blown up."bluntly stated Ruby.
"Wow, dramatic much."said Yang, once again not believing her sister.
"I'm telling the truth. I met this really crabby girl today who almost blew us up because she kept shaking this Dust bottle over and over again. If it wasn't for my new acquaintance, I would have seriously exploded. She was yelling at me, and I was really feeling bad. And I just wanted her to stop yelling at me."said Ruby, not noticing Weiss was behind her.
"You!"shouted Weiss, causing Ruby to jump into her sister's arms.
"Oh my gosh, it's happening again!"shouted Ruby with fear.
"Oh my goodness, you almost exploded."said Yang, now believing her sister.
Ruby quickly got out of her sister's arms and decided to see if she could patch things up with the heiress.
"Look, I think we got off on the wrong foot."said Ruby before Weiss shoved a pamphlet in her face.
Ruby quickly saw that the pamphlet said Dust for dummies on the front.
"What's this?"she decided to ask.
"The Schnee Dust Company it's not responsible for any accidents using our product..Should you choose to use an SDC product, please read the warning label in the back as we are not liable for any mishaps while using our products. If you have any questions, feel free to call the service center of the SDC customer service."said Weiss, whose rent was cut off when she felt someone throw a piece of paper at her head.
"Who threw that?!"inquired Weiss.
"I threw that, princess."said Jaune, revealing he was the culprit.
"Why would you throw a piece of paper at me?"asked Weiss, wondering why this guy was stepping in again.
"Why are you so mean when it was your who almost caused the explosion."retorted Jaune, reminding the heiress that it was almost her fault that she almost exploded.
"How dare you!"shouted Weiss.
"Spoiled brat."said Jaune under his breath.
He hated individuals like Weiss, who thought that just because they had money, they could act like entitled brats.
"Excuse you?"said Weiss, who heard of some of what he said.
"Oh shoot, did you hear me?"Jaune inquired.
"Most of it! You don't even know me!"shouted Weiss.
Jaune was about to retort before he heard the sound of a microphone being tapped.
He then looked over and saw headmaster Ozpin with his right hand on the stage.
"I'll... Keep this brief. You all have signed up for the next 4 years to attend this prestigious Academy. Now, while I understand that you are still children and want to have fun, I would like to remind you all that you are here to learn how to slay monsters. I implore you not to be reckless with your lives. Otherwise, your next 4 years here will be cut short both figuratively and very literally. This is not a game. You are all here to learn to be the next generation of protectors of humanity against the creatures of Grimm."said Ozpin before leaving the stage.
"Today, all of you will be staying in the auditorium. Tomorrow, we will be in initiation to see if you are ready to be students at this prestigious school."said Glynda, adding to the announcement.
"Well, he seems strange."said Weiss to Ruby and Yang.
"It's like he wasn't even all there."said Yang, feeling like something was off with their headmaster.
"Well... Let's see what this school brings us."said Jaune before walking away.
"Hey, I'm not done with you!"shouted Weiss, who wanted to keep arguing.
"Well, I'm done. You're not even worth it."said Jaune, not noticing or not caring that very remark seemed to hurt Weiss.
"Jerk..."she said seriously a second later before stomping away to who knows where.
"Well, your new friend certainly has a pair on him. But he doesn't look all that strong."said Yang, who like that Ruby's new friend had guts but he didn't look that strong.
"Well, we'll see what tomorrow brings us."said Ruby before she and her sister walked away.
Jaune, on the other hand, was leaning on a nearby pillar before picking up a pokeball from his belt.
"Tomorrow will show everyone what we're capable of. Right, partner."said Jaune to the Pokemon inside that very pokeball.
A second later, it shook with excitement, like the Pokemon inside was ready for a fight!
Little did they know that tomorrow would give them the fight of their lives!
