Daryl finds two former friends the night Beth is taken, now with two people he doesn't trust and a woman he wants to protect, they must find the rest of their family. Together the group must learn to trust their new members and find somewhere safe, fighting off walkers, people and whatever else comes there. The two new members must make up for previous mistakes to find their place.

The world has ended, the dead now walk. Shane Walsh and Travis Manawa must protect their families from these new threats and learn to work with the group that they now must survive with as Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle learn that they may not be alone in this new world. Will these strangers learn to love and trust each other to survive in this new world?

Four months after the bridge, Daryl decides to leave the group and try to find Rick. Traveling across the country, Daryl runs into old friends and new enemies as he searches for his brother. Carl must deal with the fall of the alliance as he fights for the dream he had and the world his father wanted.

Watching the series again back in late 2022, I was reminded how much Sophia's arc in the TV show depressed me. Thought about it for several months and then rewrote season 2 with an original character to have some fun and take a break from another project, and to create a timeline where Sophia may or may not live as long as her comic counterpart.
