Yes, the few times I've mentioned it, I've tried to show that has been N's style for most of the tournament

His Unova team might have a good move or two against Reshiram, but everything will be a challenge against a legendary like that.
"Big day, are you ready?" Rosa asked, as Ash finished his breakfast.
"Just about." Ash said, reaching into his bag. "I don't feel like taking any unnecessary risks, and if Ghetsis shows up we'll need as much help as we can get."
"What do you mean?" Elliot asked curiously.
"There's an old rule, and it took a lot of asking around and approval to get but it's a temporary emergency transfer of Pokemon." Ash said, holding out four Pokeballs. "This way even after the battle against N, I'll have a team for the following fights if they happen."
"Okay I guess I'll hold onto these two." Rosa said.
"And I'll hold the others then." Elliot said taking the remaining two. "But are you sure you have Pokemon strong enough on both teams for this?"
"Yeah, I spent all night planning this out, and I finally have a plan to get through N." Ash said.
"You do mean Reshiram right?" Rosa asked.
"I'm hoping it won't come to that." Ash admitted. "Well, wish me luck!"
At the arena
"Welcome everyone to the finale of this year's Vertress Conference!" Don George exclaimed. "We've had an array of powerful trainers and Pokemon in this tournament, and now we've made it to the final two trainers. N Gropius and Ash Ketchum!"
The stadium erupted in cheers as the two trainers entered the battlefield.
"As always this will be a full six on six match. Now for who will be going first." Don George said as a coin flipped on the screen. "And N will be starting the match!"
"Vanilluxe come out!" N exclaimed.
"Lucario I choose you!" Ash said.
"Vanilluxe use Hail!"
"Lucario use Aura Sphere!"
Lucario fired off an aura sphere as hail began to pelt down on the arena, his attack missing by a fair margin.
"Lucario breathe and focus, they want us to panic in the hail." Ash said. "Now use Bullet Punch!"
"Vanilluxe use Blizzard!"
The arena floor was covered in ice as Lucario rushed forward, sliding across it as his body was hit by the falling snow and ice, missing Vanilluxe in the process.
"Lucario use Dragon Pulse!"
"Use Blizzard!"
Lucario stabled his footing, sending off a pulse of draconic energy, burning through the snow and ice storm, engulfing Vanilluxe and creating a path for the aura Pokemon.
"Lucario use Aura Sphere!"
"Vanilluxe use Flash Cannon!"
Vanilluxe let out a burst of light, temporarily blinding Lucario as he was struck by the light.
"Lucario you've got this, focus on your aura and share with mine!" Ash said, his eyes glowing yellow, a yellow light glowing from Lucario's eyes as well.
"They know how to sync their auras, that is unexpected." N said in surprise. "Vanilluxe use Ice Breath!"
"Lucario use Aura Sphere!"
Vanilluxe did their best to stop the aura sphere only for it to swirl around the icy attack, striking Vanilluxe from the side, knocking them out.
"Vanilluxe is unable to battle, the winner is Lucario!" Don George declared.
"Vanilluxe return. Come out Reshiram!" N called out.
"Hold on everyone, we need confirmation before we move." Virgil reminded over the comms he had passed out.
"Lucario use Dragon Pulse!" Ash called out.
"Reshiram use Flamethrower!" N declared.
Lucario's dragon pulse shot out, passing over Reshiram as the flames shot out, engulfing Lucario.
"Wait a minute, those flames didn't come from Reshiram's mouth!" Rosa said.
"You might be able to fool normal sight, but aura sight is very different." Ash said. "That is no Reshiram."
"And yet you missed." N pointed out.
"Bad luck on our part." Ash admitted. "Now Lucario use Aura Sphere!"
"Reshiram counter it with Focus Blast!"
The two orbs of fighting energy collided in the center of the arena, sending out a shockwave sending dust across the arena.
"Wait, that's not Reshiram at all!" Elliot realized.
"But what Pokemon could it be?" Rosa asked in confusion.
"Lucario time to break their illusion use Thunder Punch!"
"Reshiram use Flamethrower!"
Lucario leapt forward, his fist engulfed in electrical energy as he struck Reshiram's leg, breaking the illusion showing Zoroark before he was fully engulfed in the flames from the dark type.
Ash's eyes stopped glowing as the flames died down, Lucario dropping to the ground with a thud.
"Lucario is unable to continue battling, the winner is Zoroark!" Don George declared.
"You were fantastic Lucario, thank you for being on this journey with me." Ash said, returning the fighting type to his Pokeball. "Now come on out Dewott!"
"Zoroark use Night Slash!"
"Dewott use Razor Shell with a twist!"
Dewott leapt at Zoroark, holding one of his scalchops slicing down at Zoroark's claw.
"Dewott use X-Scissor!"
"Zoroark use Focus Blast!"
Dewott was thrown back before Zoroark launched a Focus Blast at the water type, forcing him to use X-Scissor to slice apart the attack rather than being hit.
"Okay, he might be fast, but we can slow him down! Use Ice Beam!"
"Zoroark use Flamethrower!"
Fire and ice collided creating a steam cloud between the two Pokemon.
"Dewott use Razor Shell!"
"Zoroark use Retaliate!"
Dewott rushed into the steam, launching both of his scalchops at Zoroark as the dark type swiped at both of the shells trying to counter them.
"Now use Return!" Ash called out.
"Block it!"
Moments later Dewott and Zoroark launched out of the steam cloud with Dewott standing on top of Zoroark.
"Zoroark use Night Slash!"
"Dewott dodge it!"
Zoroark sliced his claw at Dewott, clashing against one of the scalchops before it was thrown to the side and Dewott was tossed back.
"Dewott get your Scalchop!" Ash called out.
"Zoroark stop him with another Flamethrower!"
Dewott raced towards his lost scalchop, seeing a wall of flames erupt in his path, Zoroark giving a smirk at the stopped progress.
"Dewott you've got this, I believe in you!" Ash called out.
"Wott!" Dewott exclaimed, leaping forward, through the flames and grabbing his second scalchop mid roll.
"Great work! Now use X-Scissor!"
"Use Flamethrower!"
Dewott rushed forward, using his scalchops to block most of the flames before striking Zoroark back.
"Dewott isn't looking too good." Rosa realized, seeing the water type catching his breath.
"If I had to guess, aside from Reshiram, that Zoroark is N's ace, so it's not that hard to believe that it is strong." Elliot commented.
"Dewott use Razor Shell!"
"Zoroark use Night Slash!"
Dewott shot his scalchops at Zoroark, hitting the dark type twice, once from each side before catching them and rolling out of the way of the attack.
"Now use Return!"
"Use Focus Blast!"
Dewott rushed forward, slamming into Zoroark as his scalchop was flung into the air.
"Dewott use Razor Shell!"
"Zoroark use Night Slash!"
Dewott grabbed his second scalchop running back at Zoroark, the calcium shell striking against the dark types claws momentarily.
"Dewott." Rosa said in shock.
"I had no idea that could even happen, that Zoroark is stronger than we thought." Elliot admitted.
"Wott!" Dewott exclaimed, holding the single piece of his scalchop, both of the other pieces having fallen to the ground.
"Zoroark use Focus Blast!" N exclaimed.
"Dewott dodge it!"
Dewott was still stunned as he was struck by the focus blast sending him tumbling back next to his other scalchop.
"Dewott use Razor Shell!" Ash called out.
"Dew!" Dewott exclaimed, wielding his full scalchop as well, only to see the other create a long focused blade.
"Oh that is amazing!" Ash said, as Dewott leapt at Zoroark, slicing across the dark type sending them tumbling back into the wall.
"Zoroark is unable to battle, the winner is Dewott!" Don George declared.
"Leave it to Ash and Dewott to turn a loss into a gain." Rosa said, seeing Dewott wield the new sharper scalchop fragment proudly.
"Those two do tend to overcome adversity." Elliot said with intrigue.
"Zoroark you were fantastic, thank you my old friend." N said, recalling the dark type. "Now come out Klinklang!"
"Dewott use Razor Shell!"
"Klinklang use Metal Sound!"
Dewott ran forward, wielding his pointed scalchop as a blade, slicing at Klinklang as the gears of the steel type spun, creating an echoing roar, causing Dewott to shudder after striking the steel type.
"Dewott use Ice Beam!"
"Use Thunderbolt!"
Dewott fired a beam of ice, creating a frozen point in the center of Klinklang, keeping the steel type from moving and using the move thunderbolt as a result.
"Dewott use another Razor Shell!"
"Klinklang use Hyper Beam!"
Dewott leapt at Klinklang only for the stuck gears to create such a strong amount of energy that it shot out engulfing Dewott in the beam of light energy, as the beam ended Dewott was left on the ground knocked out.
"Dewott is unable to battle, the winner is Klinklang!" Don George declared.
"Considering how much work Dewott had to do to beat Zoroark, I'd consider him making it this long a victory." Georgia admitted.
"It should still be me out there, not some nobody from the boonies." Trip commented.
"Oh give it a break, you lost in the first round to another Serperior, you were not going to stand a chance against the likes of N." Georgia scoffed.
"Yeah, sure like you'd do much better." Trip remarked sarcastically.
"Dewott you were amazing, we've got this from here." Ash said, returning the water type.
"Pi!" Pikachu said, ready to get in the fight.
"Alright, Pikachu I choose you!"
Pikachu raced onto the battlefield, sparks coming off of his cheeks as he faced against Klinklang.
"Pikachu use Charge Beam!"
While Klinklang was reforming after their last attack, Pikachu fired off a single beam of static energy, charging his own electrical power at the same time.
"Pikachu use another Charge Beam!"
"Klinklang use Thunderbolt!"
"Pikachu take it and hold your charge beam!" Ash called out.
"In a shocking turn of events, Ash Ketchum is actually having his Pikachu take an attack head on!" Don George exclaimed.
"What is his plan?" Stephan asked in confusion as he watched Pikachu take the bolt of electricity coming off of Klinklang.
"Pikachu use another Charge Beam!"
"Klinklang use Flash Cannon!"
Pikachu fired a beam straight through the Flash Cannon, both beams striking the other Pokemon. While Klinklang looked fine, Pikachu looked to be enraged.
"I don't think I've ever seen Pikachu look like that." Rosa said in surprise.
"Look at his electricity coming from his cheeks, Ash must have known this would happen." Elliot pointed out.
"Alright Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
"Klinklang use Thunderbolt!"
The two bolts of lightning shot at each other, pushing against one another.
"Pikachu, FULL POWER!" Ash called out.
"PIKA!" Pikachu exclaimed, his bolt of electricity overpowering Klinklang's and zapping the steel type hard enough to separate it momentarily.
"There's something you should know about Pikachu, overcharging him can be dangerous for his opponents." Ash pointed out. "Now Pikachu while they're recovering use Iron Tail!"
Pikachu leapt into the air, striking the horizontal gear of Klinklang, sending the gear Pokemon backwards and apart.
"Klinklang is unable to battle, the winner is Pikachu!" Don George declared. "We will now take a short intermission before the second half of the match."
