This is the 2nd Halloween 2021 chapter. There will be either 1 or 2 more before Halloween. This chapter is just the Halloween breakfast scene in 2021.
"So," explained Headmistress Kirke, "Here's how today's Carnival Halloween is going to work: After breakfast, you are all going to meet up on the sloping lawns with your October 2021 Hogwarts Interhouse Teams. You will be engaging in carnival themed Halloween activities with your October 2021 Hogwarts Interhouse Teams from after breakfast until dinnertime. Lunch will be part of these activities. In this way you can all spend one last session with your October 2021 Hogwarts Interhouse Teams before new teams are formed for November. Those of you who are guests today and did not have an October 2021 Hogwarts Interhouse Team should have received instructions on who to meet up with for the day in advance, but if you are unsure who to spend the day with, ask me."
There was some polite clapping in responses to this. But the main response the Hogwarts student body had to this announcement was a lot of smiles and warm looking faces.
The students did not need to utter a syllable to express how they felt about this. Their smiles and warm looking faces said it all.
"You will find out exactly what our Carnival Halloween will entail when you get there. For now, we're going to have a bit of a noisy and messy Halloween celebration along with breakfast," smirked Headmistress Kirke.
Next nanosecond, Headmistress Kirke dug her right hand into her right hand pocket and withdrew her wand.
Raising her wand as high above her head as she could, Headmistress Kirke cried, "Confettiicus Fallicus!"
A nanosecond later, confetti in five colors engulfed everyone in Friendship Hall.
The supermajority of the confetti was orange and black and it had just enough of an infusion of purple, white, and slimy green to include all the Halloween colors in a cool and fun way.
"It's raining Halloween colors," smiled Stephanie happily.
"As Stephanie's fellow Halloween junkie, this confetti is creating a super cool Halloween spirit," cooed Courtney.
Eventually, the shower of confetti stopped, and all of the confetti came together in various shapes and patterns and hardened itself. As the final hardening processes were completed, there were an innumerable number of loud bangs that echoed throughout Friendship Hall. These bangs sounded like a combination of balloons popping and fireworks exploding. Many students gave off gasps of surprise in response to this sudden loud sound.
The end result of this was that everyone in Friendship Hall had an orange plate with the words Happy Halloween 2021 inscribed on in alternating purple, and slimy green letters and cooler still, white goblets in the shapes of ghosts while some excess confetti simply vanished of its own accord.
"Wow," smiled Susan Bones Jr, "This is awesome!"
"Noise on Halloween is A Very Fitting Thing," observed Hugo.
"Are these plates and goblets ours to keep after breakfast, like the bags we use for trick or treating?" asked Samantha hopefully, "I may not be as big a Halloween junkie as my sisters, but ghost shaped goblets are too cool not to keep!"
Ironically, Samantha made the request without knowing that the trick or treat bags they'd be using later that night would be ghost shaped bags, although Lily did know this from her role in the New Hogwarts Planning Club, though the New Hogwarts Planning Club did not know what would happen at breakfast, only after.
"Yes, Miss Saver," replied Headmistress Kirke happily, "The Goblets and plates are yours to keep after breakfast."
"Cool," beamed Samantha, and Headmistress Kirke decided against telling the students about the bags they would be using for Trick or Treating just yet.
"That confetti hardening and shaping thing was a super cool bit of Charms work," beamed Lily in admiration.
"Well, thank you, Miss Potter," replied Headmistress Kirke fondly.
"Yeah, this is all cool and all," admitted Ainsley, who was staying for Halloween after the previous day's Circle of Twenty meeting, since Halloween fell on a Sunday, "But my stomach says it's time to get something on these plates."
"Ainsley, is EXACTLY RIGHT!" agreed Devon.
Headmistress Kirke clapped her hands over her head and the food appeared.
On this day, their breakfast was waffles in the literal shapes of Halloween themed creatures such as cats, bats, spiders, and ghosts along with sausage patty meat that formed three consecutive Hs.
"Oh," realized Megan, "The three Hs in our sausage stand for Happy Halloween Hogwarts!"
"Right you are, Miss Nash," confirmed Headmistress Kirke.
"I like the waffles being the exact shapes," piped up Pamela, "Cutting the shapes into pancakes in previous years was cool, but having the waffles be the actual shapes, not just having shapes cut into them, was a nice new touch this year."
"I wanted this Halloween to be fun and lighthearted," smiled Headmistress Kirke.
And along those lines, their goblets were filled with an unknown drink that seemed to have a mix of all five Halloween colors in it.
All of the students seemed to like it, but no one could identify its taste.
"What exactly is the drink," wondered James, "It's super pleasant and all, but I can't put a finger on what the hell it actually is."
"It's Mystery Drink," revealed Headmistress Kirke, "Few people know exactly what it is or what it is made of."
"Do you know?" asked Albus.
"I don't," said Headmistress Kirke matter of factly, "The ingredients, recipe and manufacturing process are highly protected trade secrets. I purchased Mystery Drink at a specialty Halloween Store named Sandra's Spooky Supplies."
"That shop is owned by my mom!" called out Sierra proudly.
"Your mom was very nice to me when I was a customer in her store, Miss Stop," Headmistress Kirke informed Sierra, "She's a very kind and kindhearted woman."
Sierra smiled and added, "I don't know either. Mom says the manufacturers of Mystery Drink could stop selling it to her store if she spilled the beans, even to me, on what it actually is."
"That's part of the fun though," cooed Debbie, "Sometimes not knowing adds to the aura."
"I totally agree," nodded Gina, "The vibe of mysterious adds to the novelty here."
The mysteriousness of their breakfast drink added to the Halloween spirit.
Everyone enjoyed his or her breakfast with the unknown drink adding a sense of fun and cool and when breakfast was gone, Headmistress Kirke said, "Out to the Sloping Lawns. It's time to enjoy Halloween with your October 2021 Hogwarts Interhouse Teams for one last session with them!"
Welcome to October! Happy Halloween month everyone! 🎃
Much love from Arizona for all the support. Love you all. -Michael. :) ❤️
