Lord Raptor

Background:

Zabel Zarock, better known as Lord Raptor, is a character in the Darkstalkers franchise. He was a young rocker who became instantly famous all over Australia after the release of his first album, "Oral Dead". His next songs sold millions of copies and his concerts attracted thousands of people. Turmoils at his lives were common enough, but one day a violent brawl broken out, leading to the law enforcement officials starting monitoring him and advising against hosting other events.

Despite the warnings, Lord Raptor managed to gather over 100 of his fans in his studio and held his final live. By the time the police arrived, all the people stood floating in their own blood, with Lord Raptor still on the stage, holding his guitar and screaming, just before becoming a skeleton. Days later, a book was found in his house, containing information about Makai and a curse to offer souls at "its lord". The words of said curse were the same of his songs, including the last one called "Sacrifice".

Noticing his actions, Ozom resurrected him as a zombie, promising even more power in exchange for the life of the other Darkstalkers. The demon lord also entrusted him the beast Le Malta as a helper, who was secretly a spy with the mission of informing Ozom in case Lord Raptor decided to betray him, thing that he was actually planning to do. But before this was even possible, Ozom's soul was taken by Jedah Dohma and his castle became a gate to Majigen. Taking the lordless Le Malta as his servant, Lord Raptor entered the newly created dimension, looking for new challenging preys and their power.

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics,

Skilled hand-to-hand combatant,

Electricity Manipulation,

Acrobatics (His fighting style incorporates many jumps and aerial attacks. Can fight and defend in mid-air. Able to spin in mid-air and land on his feet),

Immortality (Type 2 and 7; Is a zombie and survived with just his head after the explosion of his body),

Extrasensory Perception (Able to sense relevant sources of energy, such as Pyron's waves),

Natural Weaponry (Has sharp fingers and bones),

limited Size Manipulation (Can make his hands slightly bigger),

Bone Manipulation (Can pull out, extend and shapeshift ribs and other bones, making them sharp like blades),

Shapeshifting (Can transform his limbs into chainsaws and copies of his head, the latter to attack and move faster. Can morph into a top-like form)

Regeneration (Low-Mid; Can instantly heal self-inflicted wounds on his legs and reattach the head if horizontally split),

Non-Physical Interaction (Able to interact with Pyron, who doesn't have a physical form, and Bishamon in Vampire Savior, whose body is made of souls),

Resistance to Sound Mimicry (CDs couldn't properly record his enigmatic voice),

Soul Manipulation (Possesses a very strong soul, due to it being directly connected to his power. Souls such as his own, if splitted in multiple parts, are able to draw each piece to the other and return one),

Corruption and Madness Manipulation (Totally unaffected by the aura of other Darkstalkers)

Immortality (type 2) and Regeneration (Low-Mid) (Survives and recovers when pierced by Lord Raptor's chainsaw during Ultimate Undead),

limited Sound Manipulation (When transformed into an amplifier),

minor Transmutation (Can swallow enemies and spit them out as balls)

Weaknesses: Overconfident in his ability to take on stronger enemies. Greedy in absorbing energy, to the point of destroying his own body in the process. A strong mind/spirit can resist the madness-inducing effect of his aura and a dark heart can resist the corruption.

Brook

Backstory:

Brook is the Straw Hat Pirate's musician. He ate the Revive-Revive Fruit (Yomi Yomi no Mi), which enabled his spirit to reanimate his corpse after he died. Unfortunately, after his death, his spirit got lost for an entire year before finding his body, and it had decayed into a skeleton. He later developed the ability to control his own soul. Deprived of his shadow by the Warlord of the Sea, Gecko Moria, he was adrift within the gloomy Florian Triangle until he met the Straw Hats by chance.

Нe also has the distinct habit of making puns relating to his skeletal state at every opportunity. He's eighty-eight/ninety years old, though he doesn't age after dying at the age of thirty-eight. He is also a fencer who executes extremely fast attacks and can use music as a form of hypnosis.

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics,

Adept Swordsman (Specializes in fencing),

Water Walking,

Immortality (Types 2 and 7; Unaffected by having his head and other body parts detached),

Soul Manipulation and Resurrection (Ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, a Paramecia type Devil Fruit which allows the user to come back to life and allows the user to access other soul-based abilities),

Inorganic Physiology (Type 1),

Sleep Manipulation (Via Nemuriuta: Flanc),

limited Regeneration (Mid-Low; Can regenerate wounds such as large cracks on his skull by drinking milk),

Statistics Amplification (Speed; can enhance his speed to the point where he can blitz those who can normally keep up with him via Yahazu Giri and similar moves),

Possibly Empathic Manipulation when playing music (Uses music to inspire cultists to fight for themselves),

Immunity to Water Absorption (Due to being a skeleton),

Resistance to Electricity Manipulation (Due to not having flesh. He also covered himself in lightning to attack Oars without showing major damage) and Extreme Temperatures (Was unbothered by the cold side of Punk Hazard even in his normal attire and survived getting caught in a Pacifista laser explosion although was badly injured)

Same as before, Astral Projection (Can separate his soul to move individually of his body),

Body Control (Can reattach his head and other body parts),

Ice Manipulation (Able to freeze objects and people by channeling the power of his soul through his sword [Soul Solid, the "Freezing Sword"]),

Non-Physical Interaction (Capable of affecting and damaging Big Mom homies such as Zeus and Prometheus),

Spiritual Awareness,

Large Size (Type 0; is approximately 2.77 m),

Air Manipulation (Can generate wind blades with sword slashes and thrusts, can also use this in conjunction with his freezing ability),

Durability Negation (Can freeze the blood flow of opponents, affecting them internally. Can hit the soul),

Broadway Force,

Mind Manipulation when playing music (Able to hypnotize people with music: forcing them to sleep, create illusions in their minds, etc.),

Resistance to Madness Manipulation, Mind Manipulation and Soul Manipulation via Willpower (Through sheer willpower they can resist losing their mind when absorbing shadows through the Kage Kage no Mi. Shadows belonging to strong willed people are difficult to control, allowing them to rebel against Moria's pact which usually immediately submits a shadow to his supremacy and orders. Spiritual energy is contained within one's soul/life; this energy is represented by the fighting power or the Haki itself. Those with strong souls, which are homologous to shadows, resist the effects of his own soul manipulation)

Weaknesses: Standard Devil Fruit users weaknesses. He leaves his body defenseless when he uses his astral projection.

Song:

The veil of night draped over the graveyard, casting an effectively eerie and ominous aura, punctuated by the occasional squawks of crows and apparitions lingering among the headstones. Through the wisps of fog, a melodic voice floated through the air, serenading the tranquil burial grounds with a song that echoed softly, adding a touch of soothing ambiance to the stillness of the evening.

"Yohohoho, yohohoho. Yohohoho, yohohoho."

The skeletal figure of Brook, the undead musician of the Straw Hat Pirates, wandered through the misty graveyard, serenading himself with a tune that danced through the night air. Having become separated from his friends, an occurrence typically attributed to the swordsman Zoro's propensity for getting lost, Brook was unworried and took his time exploring the area, secure in the knowledge that they would undoubtedly find each other once more.

"Gather up all of the crew! It's time to ship out Binks' Brew!

The wind it blows, to where who knows? The waves will be our guide! O'er across the ocean's tide, rays of sunshine far and wide!

The birds, they sing, of cheerful things in circles passing by!"

The undead guitar riffs abruptly halted as Brook turned, his attention drawn to the sight of a zombie sliding in on his knees while shredding with maniacal skill. As the zombie stood up, he pointed dramatically at Brook, announcing with flamboyant arrogance,

"I am the Emperor Zabel Zarock! None can stand against me!!"

The bounty poster of Zabel showed, the bounty for "Lord Raptor" Zarock being 251,994,000 Belly.

"Ah, it's been quite a while since I've encountered a zombie. I wonder if the shadowy Moria has been stirring trouble again since Thriller Bark."

Brook, reminisced aloud. With a swift movement, he reached into his jacket and pulled out a handful of crystalline salt, which he promptly hurled into the face of Lord Raptor, causing the zombie to cry out in irritation as the salt stung his eyes. Even though it was greatly annoying, he was not susceptible to traditional zombie exorcism methods.

"Hey! What are you throwing bloody table salt into my eyes, for?!"

Brook was taken aback as the salt failed to have the desired effect he had expected. With theatrical astonishment, he exclaimed,

"It didn't work?! I can't believe my eyes! Oh, wait... I don't have eyes! Yohohohoho!"

The undead skeleton cackled at his own joke, indulging in humor at the expense of his own undead existence. Lord Raptor responded defiantly, declaring,

"Laugh all you want, skeleton man! I'll rock your bones good!"

The zombie musician then launched himself forward, transforming his legs into a bone-drill as he dove towards Brook. In response, Brook swiftly unsheathed his enchanted sword, Soul Solid, and unleashed his powerful thrusting technique, Aubade Coup Dtroit. This technique generated a highly compressed blast of air upon impact with the drill attack, forcefully smashing Lord Raptor back into a cluster of tombstones. Brook chuckled in response,

"Hehe, you're quite amusing yourself, rock star zombie! But I'd be careful with those bone-shattering threats. I might just play a sweet melody on your ribs!"

Zabel Zarock swiftly got back up, snarling, before using his Le Malta to teleport to Brook's face. He grasped Brooks's skeleton body tightly, cackling with sadistic amusement.

"Careful watch what you wish for, mate."

Lord Raptor then proceeded to pierce Brook's clothing with his false ribs, using them like makeshift rapiers and thrusting them in and out repeatedly. Brook yelled in pain, his voice filled with exaggerated cries of distress.

"Ahhhhh! Oh! Ouch! My flesh and blood! ... Oh, wait, I don't have flesh and blood. Yohohohoho!"

The skeleton musician chuckled once more at his own jest, making light of his very undead state. Despite his exaggerated reactions, it became clear that the attacks of Zabel Zarock were only damaging Brook's clothing, as his skeleton being possessed no flesh or blood for the zombie's assault to harm.

"Are you mocking me?!"

Zabel Zarock roared, growing more furious at the sight of his adversary finding humor rather than pain. However, before he could receive a verbal response, Brook's soul suddenly phased through him, taking him completely by surprise. Lord Raptor stumbled back in shock, his eyes widening in disbelief, as a shiver ran down his spine. Frost began to spread across his undead form, quickly enveloping it in a thick layer of ice and freezing him solid until he resembled nothing more than a grotesque ice sculpture.

"Oh dear, was my cold soul too cold for your soul? Yohohoho!"

Brook chuckled as his soul floated about the motionless body. However, cracks slowly began to appear across the icy encasement, eventually leading to its shattering, as Lord Raptor burst out enraged. He hurled himself into the air with a backflip, soaring over Brook's spectral form until he landed atop it, repeatedly pummeling it with powerful stomps, reveling in the palpable anguish he inflicted upon the soul.

"Not so confident now, are you, mate?"

Lord Raptor taunted with sadistic laughter as Brook's soul hastily retreated to the safety of his skeletal host. With a realization dawning upon him, the undead pirate pondered that if his soul was indeed susceptible to direct assault, he would have to exercise caution in exposing it in the future.

With incredible agility, Lord Raptor hurtled through the air towards his adversary, his entire form contorting into a spinning top while his belt's protruding spikes grew bigger, transforming into dangerous blades. Anticipating the attack, Brook leapt into the air as well, meeting Zabel Zarock in the middle, but skillfully positioning himself several meters higher in order to gain a strategic advantage. In a swift and calculating move, Brook unleashed a succession of quick draw stabs with Swallow Bond en Avant, throwing his opponent off balance and sending him crashing into a cluster of tombstones.

Zabel Zarock swiftly rose, his left leg morphing into a menacing chainsaw as he launched himself forward, aiming for a devastating kick attack. In a moment of swiftness, Brook swiftly created a formidable wall of thick ice behind him, serving as a barrier against the approaching assault. Undeterred, the zombie rocker cackled as he savagely tore into the frozen shield, swiftly cutting through the icy obstruction. Landing with a thud, he found himself puzzled by his adversary's sudden disappearance.

"Hmph! What a coward, hiding instead of facing me like a man, you bonehead!"

Caught off guard by the sudden flash of Brook's sword, Zabel Zarock hesitated momentarily as the undead pirate walked past him, having swiftly sprinted around him while his attention was focused on the now fragmented ice wall. With a sense of composed elegance, Brook sheathed his sword, Soul Solid, as he stood facing away his undead adversary, his voice carrying a sense of tranquility.

"My apologies, my fellow undead musician, but you have already been cut. Three-Verse Humming: Arrow Notch Slash!"

With a deliberate click, he slid Soul Solid fully back into its sheath, causing Lord Raptor to cry out in pain as deep gashes appeared on his body, carving his flesh. Zabel Zarock cried out in angered agony, vowing retribution.

"You'll pay for that!"

With a pained grimace, he lunged forward, seizing Brook and forcefully throwing him into the ground via a brutal supplex. As Brooks lay stunned, the zombie vocalist swiftly flipped over, his fingers morphing into deadly blades that he mercilessly plunged into the pirate's back. The impact of the collision and the piercing of his bones caused Brook to wince in pain, the sharpness of the attack leaving a lingering sting.

Brook's soul briefly escaped from his mouth, swiftly passing through Zabel Zarock's head, causing it to momentarily freeze from the icy touch of the ethereal being. This assault caused the zombie to stagger backwards, desperately attempting to free himself from the freezing grasp. Utilizing this distraction, the Straw Hat musician rushed away, seizing the opportunity to create some much-needed distance between him and his adversary.

Zabel Zarock growled in anger as he brutally smashed the ice surrounding his head. In a show of defiance, the rocker zombie extended his elbow bone, aiming to inflict further damage upon Brook. The skeleton pirate, however, skillfully and swiftly employed a defensive maneuver, holding his enchanted sword in a backhand grasp and blocking the assault. By doing so, he successfully froze the lengthened bone, causing it to shatter upon impact.

The zombie rocker approached in a closer proximity with heightened intensity. Utilizing his unique abilities, he enlarged his hand, unleashing a powerful slash with his razor-sharp nails, propelling Brook backward with force. With renewed vigor, the zombie musician spun around like a top in the air, channeling additional electricity that crackled in the air. In a continuous barrage of attacks, he delivered a series of shocking touches, each strike infused with powerful electrical energy, intensifying the impact of his assault on the Straw hat musician.

Brook groaned as he crashed onto the ground, his voice tinged with a mix of pain and amusement. Despite the intensity of the battle, humor still danced in his words as he quipped:

"Oooohhh… I survived that by the skin of my teeth. Ah, wait… my teeth don't have that skin anymore! Yohohohoho!"

The cackling skeleton regained his composure, standing upright and unyielding like a rigid plank. However, it was evident that the fight had taken its toll on his attire, with his clothes torn and his bones bearing the scars of cuts and cracks, a testament to the fierce battle he's been enduring thus far.

"Polka Remise!"

He unleashed a barrage of swift thrusts with Soul Solid, moving with such speed that it seemed he wielded multiple blades simultaneously. However, Zabel Zarock adeptly used his guitar to deflect each strike, retaliating with a powerful shockwave conjured by the strum of Le Malta. The force of the counterattack propelled the skeleton pirate backward, causing his bones to splinter and separate, scattering across the ground in a disassembled state. Zabel Zarock's voice echoed with sadistic laughter as he mockingly exclaimed,

"Hahaha! Make all the undead jokes you want, but at least I have flesh to hold myself together!"

In his boastful amusement, the zombie rock star seemingly overlooked the fact that the Straw Hat pirate, Brook, possessed the remarkable ability to reconnect his bones with his soul. As his soul linked between each of the scattered bones, they spontaneously reassembled themselves, restoring him to his complete skeleton form, defying the ridicule of his adversary. With a hint of realization and amusement, Brook remarked,

"Oh my, it appears that I'm facing more challenges than I initially anticipated. Forgive me if I take a moment to quench my thirst."

He reached into his attire, retrieving a bottle of milk, and proceeded to consume its nutritious contents. Curiously, despite lacking the normal physiological features for ingesting the beverage, the liquid magically disappeared without a trace. Within a brief moment, the cuts and cracks on his form began to heal, strengthening his bones and lessening their susceptibility to fracturing.

Zabel Zarock's eyes widened with an incredulous look, the shock was evident in his bulging gaze. With a stunned expression and a pointed finger, he roared at Brook, his voice tinged with bewilderment:

"What the bloody hell did you just drink, you bag of bones?!"

The sight of the milk disappearing without a trace left the zombie musician utterly flabbergasted, struggling to comprehend the mysterious action of the skeleton pirate. Brook casually replied with a tone that suggested the answer was obvious,

"Why, milk, my good sir. Calcium is indeed beneficial for the bones, after all."

While the notion that milk was beneficial for bones was undoubtedly true, the way Brook phrased it made it sound like a routine occurrence, as though calcium had the magical ability to heal bones effortlessly for everyone, when it only applied to the peculiar Straw Hat himself. Zabel Zarock's anger and confusion reached a boiling point as he faced Brook's bizarre behavior as a skeleton. The enraged zombie musician bellowed:

"I will not tolerate being mocked any longer! This battle ends now!"

His dead, blue flesh acquired a golden hue, his muscles expanded, and his guitar transformed into a fearsome chainsaw, firmly attached to his dominant arm. Empowered by his Ultimate Undead transformation, Zarock aimed to end the confrontation.

To evade a powerful horizontal slash from Zabel Zarock, Brook tilted backwards 45 degrees, maintaining a straight stance, narrowly avoiding the deadly attack. However, to his dismay, a few millimeters of his afro were sliced off, leaving miniature pieces to flutter through the air. The sight enraged him, his voice filled with annoyance and concern.

"Aaahhh! Don't touch my hair! How is Laboon supposed to recognize me if it gets damaged too much?!"

With a pang of remembrance, Brook recalled his 50-year promise to reunite with his whale friend, and how his afro was the only distinctive trait left from his living days. Zabel Zarock chuckled mockingly, finding the skeleton's concern for his hair amusing.

"I find it quite humorous that you worry about your hair, considering there are more pressing matters at hand, mate. I'll give you something more concerning to think about, like your life, which I'm about to take for myself!"

Zabel Zarock attempted to swiftly slice through Brook, but was taken aback by the unexpected agility of the skeleton as he swiftly moved out of reach. Brook donned his shades and readied his own stringed instrument, declaring:

"There are things I hold dearer than my life, fellow undead. I'll show you the musical prowess of the Soul King! Party music!"

With determination, Brook started playing, the air filled with captivating music, intent on showcasing the power of his melodies. Lord Raptor experienced a moment of puzzlement and awe as the music filled the air, as something felt amiss, but he couldn't quite pinpoint the reason. Suddenly, flashing lights dazzled his sight, disorienting him momentarily, until he began to see a familiar and nostalgic scene unfold before his eyes. He found himself on the stage of one of his past death metal concerts, surrounded by adoring metal fans, their cheers echoing with the same energy from his pre-undead days. With a wild and exhilarated smile, Lord Raptor approached the microphone and shouted,

"Oi, you bloody lot! Did you miss your God of Metal?!"

His fans, unbothered by his undead state, erupted with enthusiastic applause, celebrating the return of their beloved metal rockstar. Lord Raptor declared, a manic grin on his face,

"Alright then, let's kick it up a notch for old times' sake!"

With a powerful strum, he began playing one of his most renowned death metal songs from his album catalogue. His fans roared with excitement, passionately singing along and violently headbanging to the extreme musical style of their favorite undead rockstar. Zabel Zarock, thrown into a momentary frenzy, sprinted up to the edge of the stage, and lunged forward, fully expecting the eager and supportive arms of his fans to catch him during his stage dive. But it was Brook's voice that shattered the illusion, his words booming through the air,

"Cut, party's over. Quinte Tierce: Fantasia!"

With a swift click, Brook sheathed his sword, unleashing a devastating attack that sliced Lord Raptor into numerous, scattered pieces. Caught off guard, the undead rocker gasped as he was unexpectedly attacked while under the influence of the illusion. Zabel Zarock refused to accept his loss, protesting with annoyance,

"No, a mere knave defeating me, Lord Raptor? You must be jesting!"

But Brook unleashed one final strike, calling out the attack name,

"Phrase d'armes: Orchestra!"

With a precise and elegant move, he sliced the air in the shape of a G-clef, freezing the point of impact on Zarock's head. The resulting impact shattered the frozen region, leaving the undead rockstar defeated, and the Straw Hat pirate victorious. Brook chuckled, satisfied with his victory against Lord Raptor, and couldn't resist teasing the defeated zombie one last time,

"Well, it seems this undead couldn't face the music! Yohohoho, Yohohohohoho!"

He put away his instrument and sheathed his Soul Solid, taking pride in his triumph. With a lighthearted demeanor, Brook sauntered through the ravaged Australian graveyard. Humming a cheerful tune to himself, he vanished into the fog, continuing on his journey.

Strength: Both these undead musicians certainly made this the battle of musical might, but only one undead was walking out of this alive. In Darkstalkers, most of the monster roster are B class, meaning that they are comparable to Anakaris sinking ancient Egypt underground. While the math is not shown in Death Battle, and there might be more factors to consider than the math I used of Fma and area of effect, but most Darkstalkers would be capable with attacking with 2.8 MT of TNT. This makes them stronger than the R-12 SS-4 Soviet missile from the Cuban Missile Crisis of 2.3 MT. As for Brook, he scales to Luffy at his base in the Whole Cake Island arc, who can generate 50.25 GT of force in base alone at the time. That makes Brook just shy of 21,850X stronger than Zarock.

Speed: While if we're to take Death Battle's claim that Darkstalkers of Jon Talbain and Morgana's calibers are capable of fighting robots who can transverse the galaxy in a short time, Lord Raptor would more than likely be 926.6 million times the speed of light, making Zarock 215.5 million times faster than Brook's 4.3X light speed capabilities.

Skill: I would say that Brook is the more skilled, since he's had much more time to practice his swordsmanship and Yomi Yomi no Mi powers.

Experience: Lord Raptor has the more experience, since he's been dead for 20 years, and much more time to practice his abilities compared to Brook.

Powers: Lord Raptor's ability to directly attack Brook's soul is certainly helpful, and he has a more versatile means of unarmed combat with his control over his zombie body, but Brook is shown to be perfectly capable of handling his sanity and soul due to resisting the affective abilities of the Shadow-Shadow fruit and Soul-Soul fruit, meaning that he can't be hindered by having his mind and soul tampered with. Lacking flesh also means that he's immune to Zarock's electrical attacks. Both may be able to heal themselves, but Brooke is more able to do so consistently, and can interrupt with Zarock's by freezing his flesh.

The winner is Brook.
