CHAPTER 2

Cersei and Jamie are having sex in the room high up in the broken tower. He was taking her from behind with her gown flipped up and her bare arse straight up in the air. He was thrusting hard into her. They hear Lyarra shouting from outside the window.

Cersei said, panicking, "Stop! STOP!" Jamie stops and runs to the window and glimpses out at Lyarra making Bran climb down the tower. He quickly backs around the corner out of the view of the window. Lyarra saw him and wondered what business was his being up there. She looked at the boy climbing down and just wanted Bran to be safe at the moment.

Jamie said, "I'm sure they didn't see us?" Cersei jumped up straightening out her clothes.

Cersei asked hissing, "Who saw us?"

Jamie said placating her, "It's alright. It's all right. I don't think the boy climbing up the wall got up here and saw us. I think the oldest Stark girl, the real pretty one with dark reddish brown hair, stopped him."

Cersei said upset, "They both could have seen us! Are you out of your mind!"

Jamie said condescendingly, "You don't know that at all. I said they didn't."

Cersei said, panicking, "We must be sure! Or we will need to kill them both." Jamie huffed, rolling his eyes.

As soon as Bran's feet touched the ground, Lyarra crouched, took him in her arms and hugged him hard to her. She said, trying to calm herself down, "Oh Bran, please for the sake of the gods, don't ever climb up that high again. You could have been killed."

Bran was confused and said, "Lyarra, why are you so scared, I do it all the time and it's ok?"

She asked him because she needed to know, "Did you see or hear anything when you were up there?" Hopefully she was the only one who saw Jamie Lannister.

Bran said innocently, "I thought I heard a ghost moaning and groaning. I was just going to look and see if I saw it and then rock you threw hit?" Lyarra thought, 'That was a bit too close for comfort. Who knows what he was doing up there and whom with.'

Lyarra said holding his chin looking him straight in the eyes, "You must never go that high up Bran. Do you know why I'm saying not to?" He shook his head no.

She said without breaking eye contact but a tear sliding down her face at how sweet and innocent he is, "It only takes one loose rock or to not have a safe grip and you will fall and die. If you don't die and are just injured like that, you will be in super bad pain for the rest of your life and probably not walk again. If you fell from there on your head, it would splatter in blood like when father took that man's head and it would spray your blood everywhere. You must stop climbing because it will happen no matter how good you think you are one day. Do you understand? I will never tell you a lie, my sweet brother. Everyone you love will be so very hurt and suffer if you die. Mother and father will suffer the worst pain of all in their hearts. You don't want to hurt them by doing that do you? Everytime you climb you're taking the chance of hurting all of us forever."

He looked at her about to cry from scaring her so badly and apologized, "I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I just thought it was fun being big and tall up there. I'm sorry, Lyarra. Don't cry." He touched her face wiping a tear.

Lyarra caressed his face and said, "Bran, you don't have to be up there to be big and tall. You're going to need to be patient and grow up to be big and tall on your own. Be a good boy and swear an oath to your sister and before the gods to never climb like that and risk hurting the family ever again?"

He looked into her eyes and said seriously, "I swear Lyarra, I'll not do it anymore and make you cry or hurt the family anymore."

She wrapped him in her arms and said, "I love you so much, Bran. Never forget that."

He had his head on her shoulder and said, "I love you so, much. You're my favorite sister."

She kissed his cheek wiping the tears from her eyes and said, "Thank you, sweet boy. You be a good boy and go play with Summer on the ground somewhere." He quickly kissed her cheek and ran off to play.

She stood up, glanced up at the window and walked away wondering what he was doing up there moaning and groaning like Bran said. He was probably having sex with someone. Lyarra went off into one of the outer buildings and watched the walk-walk up on the ramparts. After a while, she saw Jamie Lannister and Queen Cersei walk out and across the battlements. She stayed there for a while sitting on a wooden barrel completely stunned. She thought, 'What in the Seven Hells did I just see? They are both twin brother and sister! Oh my Gods! Ewwww….. That is just so wrong in so many ways. That's a secret needing to be kept or a person could get killed. No wonder all three of her children have blonde hair, every one of them, because they are bastards.' She got up and walked in a different direction towards the kennels.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two days later, the family was gathered in the common room. Lyarra was sitting next to Jon on the arm of the chair he was in with Arya sitting in his lap. Lyarra was fixing Arya's braid that had come untied and unraveled at the end. When she was done she patted her head and rubbed her back. Arya turns and smiles at her in thanks.
Ned was standing up and said, "We are leaving for King's Landing in three days with the king. I have taken the job. Lyarra, Sansa and Arya are all coming with me. Jon is going with BenJen to take the Black. I have agreed to betroth Sansa to King Robert's son, Prince Joffrey." BenJen noticed Lyarra looked very angry. Jon was happy. Sansa was excited. Arya was frowning. Robb looked worried. Lyarra stood up and walked out of the room without a word. Ned and Catelyn watched her go. BenJen got up and went after her.
BenJen found her in the practice yard throwing knives at a target and making a pattern across and up and down the target on the lines in straight rows. It wasn't unusual except she was twice as far as normal. He stood there watching her quietly. He admired her skill and patterns she made because she once told him straight shooting is boring and she always was an overachiever.
When she ran out of knives she took a bow and quiver next to her and shot every one of the arrows at the target. When she was done, she said with anger in her voice knowing he was there, "He did exactly what I advised him not to do. Now he has endangered all of our lives taking us to King's Landing, leaving mother and Robb alone to run Winterfell. No Stark has survived going south and it's almost like a curse on the family."
BenJen said frowning, "I know, but he's made his decision. At least you will be able to try and protect your sisters while down there."
Lyarra said, turning to him, "It's not just my sister's I am worried about but they are a part of it. Father doesn't understand that not everyone is like us up here in the North. Honor and justice have no place there in King's Landing. My sisters will be susceptible to those craven people." She went to her target and he followed her wondering how she knew that. He saw the four points star pattern she made including the bullseye.
BenJen was curiously following her and asked, "How do you know that, Lyarra? Have you been there? I have never known of you going that far south, only as far as Riverrun."
She pulled the arrows out of the target first, filling the quiver back up and then pulled the knives. She snapped, "I know what people are like below the Neck. I can read and have met a few co.ing up this way over the years. They are crass, craven, greedy, lewd and like I told father they will kill him for a penny while smiling in his face."
BenJen was surprised and thought, 'I never realized she was so suspicious and cynical about people. Then again, she is pretty accurate on all accounts with a big city like King's Landing. I can't argue about that.'
BenJen said watching her put away the knives on the table, "What are you going to do, Lyarra?"
Lyarra said shrugging, "I have three days to figure it out, Uncle BenJen. I suppose I have some thinking to do." He reached over and hugged her knowing he would possibly never see her again when they partied ways in three days.
She said softly in his ear, "I love you, Uncle BenJen no matter how much time passes and how far away we are." He loved her words.
BenJen said letting go and cupping both sides of her face, "I know, sweetling. I will miss you though. I love you, little Ly." He called her that when she was a baby and toddler. She smiled and kissed his cheek.
That night Lyarra laid looking at the ceiling weighing her options. She thought, 'I have 255 dragons with a change purse full of smaller coins saved. It could get me on a ship to anywhere I wanted to go. I could pack up my essentials, buy food, take my horse, my direwolf and myself far away from here and there. Moonlight won't survive down there because it's too hot for him and he will get hurt by those animals, or so-called people. I could give him to Jon or Uncle BenJen. But then what? Return to save my family or let them die? No, I can't do that.'
She thought, pinching the bridge of her nose, 'I could go with my father into that den of snakes with my sisters to be sold as livestock. We would be bartered to be married off politically to whomever the king, queen or my father pointed too. I couldn't do that. I just know the minute I walk through the battlements of that city, my life on my terms will be over along with my sisters. The way that queen was looking at me, she would be the first to make my life a living hell. She is cruel and devious, I know it. If I go too far south I'll be stuck forever on the journey. I'll go with them, the first sign of trouble and I'm gone. So tomorrow I will pack up for the inevitable and worse case.'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The next day, Lyarra packed all her men's clothes, blankets, tent, essential items like flint and steel, scissors, medicinals, clothes for bathing, soap, ect. She took dry spices, herbs, oil, flour, salt, pepper and nonperishable meat, nuts, dried fruit, cheese, small pot and a small skillet. She put it all in bags to carry on her horse.

She talked to, or more shouted at, her father telling him how disappointed she was at him doing what she asked him not to do. She told him he was dragging his daughter's in a cesspool of sin unprotected because they all out numbered them. She didn't talk to her father after that. She only answered with one word phrases.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The morning of the last day at Winterfell arrived, Lyarra was looking up at the ceiling from her bed as she opened her eyes. She slept roughly tossing and turning all night and wrote a letter if anything happened while on the road to her father if she left.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Joffrey was out trying to locate Tyrion who was asleep in the kennel inside of a dog's pen.

Joffrey Baratheon stood there arrogantly looking down on his uncle and said, "Better looking bitches than you're used to, Uncle? My mother's been looking for you. We ride for King's Landing today."

Tyrion Lannister said hungover, "Before you go, you will call on Lord and Lady Stark and offer your thanks for their hosting us."

Joffrey sneered, "What good will my thanks to them do?"

Tyrion said condendingly to him, "None. But it is expected of you as the heir and eldest prince of the seven. I'm sure your absence of appreciation has already been noted."

Joffrey said snobbishly, "These people mean nothing to me. And I won't grovel to people beneath me." Tyrion smacked him in the face. Joffrey pressed his hand to his face in shock.

Tyrion waved his finger at him and warned, "One word and I'll hit you again."

Joffrey shouted and whined, "I'm telling mother!" Sandor Clegane walked up.

Tyrion said to the ungrateful retch of child, "Go! Tell her. But first you will go to Lord and Lady Stark and you will tell them you appreciate them opening their home to you and your family. Do you understand?"

Joffrey said, shouting, "You can't…" Tyrion smacked his face again. Joffrey covered his face with his hands.

Tyrion asked with authority, "Do you understand?" Joffrey ran off.

Sandor Clegane was standing there and said in his low deep voice, "The prince will remember that, little lord."

Tyrion said, sighing, "I hope so. If he forgets, be a good dog and remind him. Time to break my fast…"

He walked from the courtyard passing Lyarra Stark who said good morning to him. She had her cup of tea and her food wrapped in a piece of bread in her hands to break her fast. He turned his head and stopped watching her walk away as he stared at her ass and sighed. He turned and went into the dining hall where his family was eating breaking their fast.

Tyrion smiled and said cheerfully to a servant, "Bread. And two of those little fish. And a mug of dark beer to wash it down. And bacon, burnt black."

Jaime said in greeting, "Little brother."

Tyrion said tickling Tommen to make him giggle and snatching a piece of meat off of his plate, "Beloved siblings."

Myrcella asked Tyrion, "Are the direwolves coming with us?"

Tyrion said smiling at her, "I think the three Stark girls might bring them."

Cersei said frowning, "What do you mean? They plan on taking those dangerous animals to King's Landing?"

Tyrion said chuckling, "Yes, the poor things, they might be in danger, themselves of being killed by the inhabitants of King's Landing more than them ever being a threat to us."

Cersei said, sneering, "That's not what I meant and you know it."

Tyrion said digging into his food the servant sat in front of him, "Only the gods know for certain what will happen to the poor creatures even being in the Red Keep's kennels. All the rest of us can do is pray they get fed. A few direwolves in a city of a million and you're worried about your safety around the three direwolf pups? I'm going with BenJen and Jon Snow to Castle Black."

Cersei said stoically, "I still can't believe you're going. It's ridiculous even for you."

Tyrion said condescendingly, "Where's your sense of wonder? The greatest structure ever built, the intrepid men of the Night's Watch, the wintry abode of the White Walkers."

Jaime chuckled and said, "Tell me you're not thinking of taking the Black."

Tyrion looked at him like he lost his mind, "And go celibate? The whores would go begging from Dorne to Casterly Rock. I just want to stand on top of the Wall and piss off the edge of the world."

Cersei admonished him, "The children don't need to hear your filth. Come." She got up and left with the two children following.

Jaime said, "Fighting wildlings and White Walkers are said to be insanely demented fighters. Give me a good clean death any day."

Tyrion said sarcastically, "Speaking for the demented, I'm not going there to die. It's just a few days and I'll come back. Death is so final, whereas life... Life is full of possibilities."

Jaime shook his head and said, "My dear brother, there are times you make me wonder if you're truly sane or not."

Tyrion smiled at him and said, "My dear brother, you wound me. You know how much I love my family."
