Torrhen was able to make it back to his own room without being caught. He quickly changed his clothes and redid his hair, to make it look like he just got up. As soon as he got ready to leave his room to go help Bran, he was stopped when he saw his step-mother outside his door, waiting on him.

Catelyn: Torrhen

Torrhen: Yes, mother?

Torrhen and his step mother's relationship use to be pretty complicated but once he came back from his wardship, Catelyn's attitude towards him completely changed. She became a very doting mother towards her step-son. Actually, some of the Stark children believe Torrhen is Catelyn's favorite out of all the children.

Catelyn: I came to see you earlier, but you were not in your room

Torrhen: Oh, well I was hungry and went to the kitchen

Catelyn: Oh really?

Torrhen: Of course

Catelyn: You want to know a secret?

Torrhen: No . . .

Catelyn: 'Smirks' When you lie, right before you lie, your eyes dart towards the left for a second

Torrhen: Moth-

Catelyn: Just next time, don't bother with a bad lie

Torrhen: 'Smiles' Sorry Mother 'Hugs her then goes to leave'

Catelyn: And Torrhen? 'He turns around' Next time don't stay out so late, storytelling with your sister

Torrhen: 'Shocked' Ho-

Catelyn: 'Laughs' That's a mothers secret

As Torrhen makes his way towards the training ground, he spots one of his brother exiting his room. It is his half brother, Jon, Jon was probably the one that Torrhen was the closest to out of his brothers. Even though, he loved all his brothers, Torrhen did in fact have a favorite brother. The two brothers quickly walked in, they notice Bran already practicing with his bow. So the older brothers just watch, without making a sound, trying not to distract their younger brother. He watches as the arrow flies over the wall. Jon and Robb try but fail to hold back their laughter, but stop when they hear their fathers voice

Ned: Which one of you were a marksmen at ten?

Bran: 'In a whisper' Torr was . . .

Ned: Keep practicing Bran

Jon walks up to Bran and whispers where only his little brother can hear

Jon: Don't worry, we don't count Torr, he must be like not human or something, 'Bran cracks a smile' so stop thinking too much

No one notices but behind, Torrhen is sitting on the fence, he notices his little sister watching, he slides her a bow and arrow. Then he mouthes "Show him" she prepares the bow as Bran takes aim

Robb: Relax your bow arm

Bran pulls the arrow back and prepares to fire. An arrow is shown hitting the direct center of the target, but we see that Bran wasn't the one who fired it. He looks back, only to see Arya holding a bow, a bemused look on her face; it is evident that she was the one who fired the arrow. The others look back and notice Arya, who curtseys. Bran starts chasing after Arya. Robb and Jon just give Torrhen a look

Jon: Quick Bran! Faster!

Torrhen laughs but looks up when he hears some talking, he sees Sir Rodrick talking to Ned. He then sees his father tell Theon something, then Theon walks off, Torrhen, having a feeling he knows what this is about heads toward the horses. Once he gets there, he sees his brothers heading his way but he is surprised to see his little brother Bran coming as well.

Torrhen: You coming as well, Bran?

Bran: Yes, father says its time for me to come

Torrhen: Alright, whatever you do, keep watching

Ned Stark sits on his motionless horse, his long brown hair stirring in the wind. His closely-trimmed beard is shot with white. He has spent half his life training for war and the other half waging it, and his face conveys both authority and a haunted sadness. Just to his right, his heir, Torrhen sits on a beautiful white horse, his face is serious and emotionless. Beside him is Robb. a few feet behind Robb is Jon and Bran. They are accompanied by a dozen members of the house guard , all on horseback. Over their heads flaps the Stark banner: a gray direwolf racing across an ice-white field. South of the Wall the grass is still green and the sun is shining, but the air is cold enough to cloud the breath of four guardsmen as they escort Will toward the stump of a massive oak tree

Bran sits very still, watching the doomed man. He has never seen an execution before. The prospect of it terrifies him, but he tries hard to imitate his father's solemn expression. The Guardsmen force Will's head onto the stump. Ned dismounts. His ward, Theon, hands over Ned's sword: Ice, a beautiful weapon, centuries old. Theon is the only man in the party wearing a kraken sigil instead of a dire wolf. Ned peels off his gloves and hands them to Jory Cassel, a bull-necked warrior with a heavy mustache. Ned walks to the stump. He speaks in low tones to Will, who responds.

Will:'muttering'White Walkers. I saw the White Walkers. White Walkers. The White Walkers, I saw them.

Ned: Any last words?

Will:I know I broke my oath. And I know I'm a deserter. I should have gone back to the Wall and warned them. But I saw what I saw. I saw the White Walkers. People need to know. If you can get word to my family. Tell them I'm sorry.

Ned:In the name of Robert of the House Baratheon, first of his name ...

Jon: 'To Bran' Don't look away'

Ned:King of the Andals and the First Men ...

Jon: Father will know if you do

Ned:Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and protector of the realm, I, Eddard of the House Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, sentence you to die. ' He swingsIceand beheads Will'

Jon: You did well Bran

Jon walks away. Torrhen and Robb turns and puts their arm around Bran and they go to their horses together. Ned approaches Bran.

Ned: You understand why I did it?

Bran: Jon said he was a deserter

Ned: But do you understand why I had to kill him?

Bran: Our way is the Old way?

Ned:The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword.

Bran:Is it true he saw the White Walkers?

Ned: The White Walkers have been gone for thousands of years.

Bran: So he was lying?

Ned: A madman sees what he sees

Ned's party reaches the riverbank. Jon has dismounted beside Robb, who cradles something in his arm. Bran, Torrhen and Ned stay back with the rest of their party as Jory and Theon approach the older boys. When he sees what lies on the ground beside Robb, Theon curses and pulls his horse away. Jory does the same and yells to the boys while Torrhen got off his horse to see what the fuss was about

Jory: Get away from it!

Robb: She can't hurt you

Torrhen: It's alright Jory, she is dead

Burning with curiosity, Bran spurs his pony to keep up with Ned as they approach the others, who are all dismounting.

Theon: What in the hell is it?

Robb: A wolf

The dead wolf is impossibly huge, bigger than Bran's pony. Its blind eyes crawl with maggots.

Theon: It's a freak

Torrhen: Watch your mouth, boy

Jon: No it's a dire wolf

Theon sends a hateful glare towards the Stark heir, truth be told, the two never liked each other. Unlike Robb who treats Theon like a brother. Ned kneels beside the wolf. Groping under the beast's head, he gives a yank and comes up with a foot of shattered antler, slick with half-dried blood.

Theon: There hasn't been a direwolf south of the Wall for two hundred years.

Jon: 'Grins' Well . . . Now, there are five

When Bran sees what everyone is staring at his eyes widen. He moves in to get a closer look at the direwolf pup, a tiny ball of gray-black fur, eyes still closed, nuzzling blindly against Robb's chest, whimpering.

Jory: Tough old beast, wasn't she? Birthing a little with an antler in her throat

Jon: 'To Bran' Go on. You can touch him

Bran gives the pup a quick, nervous stroke. As he turns, Jon addresses him

Jon: Here you go

Jon thrusts another pup into Bran's arms. Overjoyed, Bran plops down in the snow and rubs the wolf pup's soft fur against his cheek. Ned picks up two more helpless pups, one in each hand. Jon picks up the fifth. Torrhen doesn't say a word, he has a weird feeling in his gut, like this is a bad omen or something

Jory: Direwolves loose in the realm

Theon: Not for long, give it here

Theon draws his sword and reaches for Bran's pup. Torrhen moves toward Theon

Bran: No! It's mine

Robb: 'in a commanding tone' Put your sword away. We are keeping them

Theon: I take orders from your father, not you.

Torrhen: Keep on and you won't have to worry about taking orders

Jory: It will be a mercy kill

Bran: No!

Bran looks to Ned for support, but finds none. Than he looks towards his oldest brother, Torrhen's face softens and he smiles. Bran now feels better

Ned: Better a quick death. They won't last without their mother.

Torrhen: Father, no

Everyone goes silent, Torrhen never goes against his father. The tension starts to build as the two wolves stare each other down. Jon steps up to get his father's attention.

Jon: Three male, two female. You have five trueborn children. Three sons, two daughters. The direwolf is the sigil of your House. Your children were meant to have these pups.

Everyone looks to the Stark banners, with their direwolf crest of arms. We see their opinions about the pups change, as they come to understand the import of this omen.

Ned: What about you and Torrhen?

Jon: We aren't really Starks, my Lord.

Ned weighs the situation for a moment in silence. He looks towards his oldest who nods that he is fine without one.

Ned: You will feed them yourselves. And train them yourselves.

Bran nods eagerly. Robb nods as well. As Ned starts to head back for his horse

Ned: They may die anyway, despite all you do.

Robb: They won't. We won't let them.

The decision made, people start to remount their horses. Bran tugs gratefully on Jon's sleeve. Jon smiles at him, but beneath his smile there is a trace of sadness. Jon is about to climb onto his horse when he hears a distant whimpering. Leaving the horse behind, he ranges into a snow drift, and scans the ground until he finds the source: A sixth wolf pup, with white fur. Unlike the others, its eyes are blood-red and open, and it is completely silent. Jon picks it up. Theon scoffs. As Torrhen mounts he hears a growl, and sees bright violet staring at him

Torrhen: Hello little guy

Theon: Yeah figures you two would get the odd balls of the pack

Torrhen: You can kiss my -

Robb: Torr! Bran is here

Torrhen: You are lucky Greyjoy

Timeskip

Back at Winterfell, it has been a little while since the group got back from dealing with the deserter. Catelyn Stark is currently looking for her husband, she should know better by now where he is, it is always the same with those two. As she approaches the godswood she can see her husband sitting down with a smile on his face. To his right is the eldest of the children, Torrhen, he must be telling a story because his hands are talking as fast as his mouth is. Catelyn silently watches with a slight smile on her on face. Torrhen just has that effect on people, he is able to make people happy and like they are just best friends. Finally, the two men notice the Lady of Winterfell.

Torrhen: I should be going, thanks for the chat

Ned: Cate?

Catelyn:All these years and I still feel like an outsider when I come here.

Ned:You have five northern children. You're not an outsider.

Catelyn: I am so sorry my love

Ned: Tell me

Catelyn: There was a raven from Kings Landing. Jon Arryn is dead. A fever took him. I know he was like a father to you.

Ned: Your sister .. . The boy . . .

Catelyn: They both have their health. Gods be good. The raven brought more news. The king rides for Winterfell. With the queen and all the rest of them.

Ned: He's coming this far North, there's only one thing he's after.

Catelyn: You can always say no Ned

Ned: You don't know the King very well then

Torrhen, Robb, Theon and Jon are in a room, getting repaired for the arrival of the royal party. Currently Torrhen was the one sitting in a chair, getting a nice clean shave.

Jon: Why is your mother so dead set on us getting pretty for the king

Torrhen: I don't need help in that department

Robb: Shut up pretty boy

Theon: It's for the queen. I hear she's sleek as a mink

Robb: I hear the prince is a right royal prick

Theon: Think of all those southern girls he gets to stab with his right royal prick.

Torrhen: Is that all you think about? 'Torrhen gets up as Jon goes next'

Robb: He didn't cut your hair

Torrhen: No one touches the hair, I'll just put it in a bun

Robb: And Mother won't say a word to you

Torrhen: Nope, it pays to be the favorite

Robb: I don't even know how you are

Torrhen: Cause I'm awesome duh

Robb: Whatever,Go on, Tommy, shave Jon good. He's never met a girl he likes better than his own hair.

Torrhen: If only he could talk to girls

Jon: Shut up, not everyone can experience the South like good ole Torrhen the dreamy Stark

Torrhen: 'Smirks' Jealously doesn't look good on you dear brother

Jon: I hate you

Torrhen: And I love you

Later, the Starks and company are waiting in the courtyard, not long until horses are heard. Arya, wearing a helm and cloak, pushes her way into a tall wagon for a better look. In rides Prince Jeoffrey, followed by his guard, the Hound. The other Starks wait in a greeting line.

Catelyn: Where is Arya? Sansa, where is your sister?

More riders with banners. Arya scoots past her parents to get in the receiving line. Torrhen just laughs at the youngest Stark girl.

Ned:Hey, hey, hey, hey. What are you doing with that on? 'He takes it off her head'

Arya: 'Pushes Bran' Move!

Joffrey rides up, Sansa smiles at him, Robb and Torrhen glares at Joffrey. The Hound pulls up his helm. The coach carrying Cersei lumbers in, followed by King Robert Baratheon. All kneel. Robert heaves himself off his horse. Ned looks shocked at the sight of his old friend, now fat and red-faced. Robert signals for all to rise and looks at Ned.

Ned: Your Grace

Robert: You've got fat

Ned gives Robert a "What about you?" look. They start laughing together.

Robert: Cat!

Catelyn: Your Grace

Robert:Nine years. Why haven't I seen you? Where the hell have you been?

Ned:Guarding the North for you, Your Grace. Winterfell is yours

Cersei and her other children descend from the coach.

Arya: Where is the imp?

Sansa: Would you shut up?

Robert walks over to the children

Robert: You must be Torrhen, your name and accomplishments are known through out the kingdom

Torrhen: You honor me, your Grace

Robert: Nonsense! Before I leave, I must see you fight

Torrhen: Of course 'The king and Torrhen shake hands'

Robert: You must be Robb 'He shakes Robb's hand as well'

Robert: 'to Sansa' My you are a pretty one 'To Arya' Your name?

Arya: Arya

Robert: 'To Bran' Ohh, show me your muscles 'Bran does'

Robert: 'Laughs' You will be a fine soldier

Cersei approaches the Starks

Ned: My Queen

Catelyn: My Queen

Cersei smiles then approaches Torrhen, the heir of Winterfell grabs the queen's hand and places a kiss on her hand

Torrhen: My Queen, you look radiant today

Cersei: 'Smiles' My oh my what a charmer you are

Robert: Take me to your crypt. I want to pay my respects

Cersei: 'Frowns' We've been riding for a month my love, surely the dead can wait a little longer

Robert: Ned. 'Starts to walk away' Torrhen . . . join us as well 'The three head towards the crypt'

Arya: Where is the imp?

Cersei walks to her brother, Jamie

Cersei: Where is our brother? Go and find the beast

Torrhen, Ned, and Robert are at the crypt. They stop in front of the resting place of one Lyanna Stark. The three just stare for a minute, each in their own thoughts, Ned is sad, misses his sister, and he feels like he failed her. Torrhen wishes he had the opportunity to meet the famed she-wolf but also he feels a slight connection to the woman, even though it is a statue, he feels safe. Robert feels mostly regret and anger.

Ned: Tell me about Jon Arryn

Robert:One minute he was fine, and then ... burned right through him, whatever it was. I loved that man.

Ned: We both did

Robert: Did you meet him, Torrhen?

Torrhen: Twice, both times felt like he was a grandfather to me

Robert: 'Smiles a small smile'He never had to teach you much, Ned, but me ... You remember me at 16? All I wanted to do was crack skulls and fuck girls. He showed me what was what.

Ned: Aye

Robert: Don't look at me like that. Not his fault I didn't listen

They both laugh, Torrhen enjoys seeing the relationship between the two even if they haven't seen each other for nine years. Robert sighs loudly

Robert:I need you, Ned. Down at Kings Landing. Not up here, where you're no damn use to anybody. Lord Eddard Stark, I would name you the Hand of the king.

Ned: I'm not worthy of the honor

Robert:I'm not trying to honor you. I'm trying to get you to run my kingdom while I eat, drink, and whore my way to an early grave. Damn it, Ned, stand up. You helped me win the Iron Throne, now help me keep the damn thing. We were meant to rule together. If your sister had lived, we would have been bound by blood. Well, it's not too late. I have a son, you have a daughter. We'll join our Houses. Unless, you would rather Torrhen marry my daughter

Ned: I'm afraid that I can't marry Torrhen off

Robert: Why's that?

Ned: He is allowed to pick his own bride, and he will only wed for love

Robert: How about this, he comes to King's Landing, they get to know each other, and we see where it goes, Sansa and Joffrey can wed no matter what. I'll only announce Joffrey and Sansa

Ned doesn't say anything but nods

Robert:Did you have to bury her in a place like this? She should be on a hill somewhere with the sun and the clouds above her

Ned: She was my sister. This is where she belongs

Robert: She belonged with me

Robert steps forward to touch the face of the Lyanna sculpture

Robert: In my dreams, I kill him every night

Ned: It's done, your Grace. The Targaryens are gone

Robert: Not all of them

Torrhen: 'Thoughts' I would love to meet them

Across the Narrow Sea, a girl of similar age to Torrhen, stands on a balcony, while her brother calls out to her from the room behind her, this is Daenerys Targaryen and her brother Viserys, the suppose last Targaryens alive.
