In the hallways...
Bakugo felt so sluggish and achy all over his body as Alya and Queen Bee carried him to the Nurse's Office. He could barely move his arms, and his body hurt from overdoing it with his quirk. He tried to fight through the pain, but he had to admit that Skylar was a tough fighter. He could tell that her punches were precise and knew where to hit him. He could tell that his arms were going to feel sluggish for a while.
Alya and Queen Bee heard the Bee Miraculous beeping, which caused her Miraculous to detransform her. Chloe felt Bakugo getting heavy from getting detransformed, but she tried to keep going. Alya tried to help, but she could tell as well that Queen Bee's strength helped her out a lot.
"Chloe, I don't think that we can carry him for much longer," Alya said to her.
"N-No... I-I've got this..." Chloe said back, "I-I need to do this..."
Bakugo tried to move his legs, but he could barely feel them. When he tried to walk, he winced at how much his body ached. He tried to push himself to walk on his own, but his legs were not responding.
"I can walk on my own. Let me do this," Bakugo said to them.
"No way Katsuki. You're hurt really badly," Alya said back, "Mr. Aizawa told you to let us help you."
Bakugo wasn't listening and tried to walk by himself. Suddenly, he felt himself falling over. Chloe and Alya lost their grip, causing him to fall to the floor.
"Katsuki!" Chloe cried out.
Bakugo couldn't move his arms, which made him feel even more helpless as they tried to help him up. Alya and Chloe had a hard time even with his Miraculous detransformed.
"Katsuki. Help us out a little here," Chloe said to him.
"I can't move Chloe. Skylar hit me right in my damn pressure points," Bakugo explained to her, "You think I want to lay down on the floor after everything that's happened?"
Chloe felt that and tried to help him up. Alya couldn't even move him since he was so heavy from getting hit. Before they could do anything else, Sato and Iida came walking over to see them stuck. They were surprised to see Bakugo on the floor and worried about him instantly.
"Bakugo! What happened?" Iida cried out.
"Do I have to explain this to everyone?" Bakugo asked them, "Skylar hit me in my damn pressure points. I haven't been able to feel my arms this entire time."
Iida and Sato were shocked to hear this, but figured that something happened between them. Sato grabbed him along with Iida who were able to carry him better. Alya and Chloe felt much better having them around to help out. Bakugo felt his face blush a little from embarrassment as he was carried over to the Nurse's Office.
"I can't believe that Skylar did this to you," Sato said to him, "She's a lot stronger than I thought she was."
Iida and Bakugo were silent, realizing what Skylar had done to them. They had trusted her, and let her in on some hero training and classes. None of them had any idea that she was a part of the League of Villains. Bakugo bit his lip, realizing that he had a weird feeling about her all along. This whole time, he was right and didn't say anything about it. He tightened his fists in anger, realizing that she was a traitor all along.
"I can't believe that she even works for the League of Villains," Iida growled out, "I had no idea that she would ever pull something like this."
Iida's words hit him a lot harder than he expected, making him flinch. They seemed to notice and stopped in their tracks. They both looked at him, concerned for his friend. He couldn't even look at them, which caught their attention.
"Bakugo, what's wrong? Did Skylar say something to you?" Iida asked him, "Don't believe anything she says. She's the one that betrayed us."
"No... That's not it..." Bakugo said back, "I had a feeling that something was up with her... I didn't say anything... and now... Izuku and Adrien are gone because I didn't say anything..."
Iida and Sato were shocked to hear him say things like this. Even Alya and Chloe were thrown off by him admitting this to them. For a moment, no one said anything and just let Bakugo let it all out. Iida felt bad for him and knew he was taking all of this pretty hard.
"Bakugo, you couldn't have known that any of this was going to happen," Iida told him, "Skylar was always going to do this and none of us knew."
"That's right Katsuki," Chloe said to him, "She may have betrayed us, but I know that we can get them back."
Bakugo gritted his teeth, feeling anger rising and realizing certain things about her when no one else did. The way she fought, the way her quirk worked and the fact that she was strong even without her quirk. Things were falling into place right in front of him, which only made his stomach feel even sicker than before. He felt like he was about to throw up, worried about Midoriya and Adrien.
Iida and Sato noticed Bakugo turning green, knowing full well that he was about to throw up. They were almost at the Nurse's Office and picked up the pace.
"Hold on Bakugo," Iida told him, "We're almost there."
They all hurried into the Nurse's Office along with Alya and Chloe. Bakugo looked like he might throw up at any moment, and Iida quickly sat him down on a nearby bed.
"What's going on with Bakugo?" Recovery Girl asked them.
"Sorry Recovery Girl, but we need to borrow with trashcan," Sato said to her as he grabbed it.
He soon ran over to Bakugo and held it out for him to take. Bakugo instinctively grabbed it and soon threw up in the trashcan. Chloe and Alya looked away, but felt bad for him. Iida and Sato noticed how green Bakugo looked and worried that he wasn't feeling good from Skylar hitting his pressure points. For a while, Bakugo threw up in the trashcan as he held it close. Chloe soon made her way over to his side and sat down next to him. She placed her hand onto his back, rubbing it ever so softly.
Bakugo felt comfort coming from Chloe who was sitting by his side. For once, he actually really didn't want her leaving him alone. He always liked having her around lately, but something about her being here felt much more comforting than usual. She kept rubbing his back, which for some reason annoyed him at one point. He tried to ignore it and let her help him. She was just worried about him is all. After what just happened, he let it slide for now.
After a good while, Bakugo stopped throwing up and sat there quietly. Iida and Sato could tell that he didn't feel good, but was less green around his face. Even Alya worried about him, especially after what he did for her back there. Then Recovery Girl came over to Bakugo with a hot cup of chamomile tea.
"Here. This'll help with your nausea," Recovery Girl told him.
Sato grabbed the trashcan, which almost made him throw up. He it held out as Bakugo took the hot cup of tea. He held it quietly as everyone else took care of him. Sato threw away the trashcan, which also seemed to gross out Iida. Bakugo took a sip of it, but still felt a gross feeling in his stomach. He stared at it, hoping that Midoriya and Adrien were doing okay. Bakugo worried that they were already captured and taken to the League of Villains.
He knew how that felt, which just made him feel worse. He wanted to run off and go after them. Now he understood how helpless Midoriya felt when he went after him. Then again, he went after him when he was captured by HawkMoth. Something about him getting captured by the League of Villains felt completely different from HawkMoth or even Chrysalis. He looked at his Miraculous around his finger, remembering how awful he felt when he lost his quirk.
He felt like he was in that same situation again.
In the corner of his eye, he noticed Kirishima laying down in the Nurse's Office. His heart skipped a beat, feeling like he was back in that cave a long time ago. Back when Kirishima got caught up underneath some debris and rocks on that beach. He remembered how fast his heart was racing on that day, and how nervous he got for his friend. He felt like he was digging for so long just to get Kirishima out of there.
And now it happened again.
Everyone noticed that Bakugo was staring Kirishima, which got them worried about their friend.
"Kirishima got really bad burns on his arms," Iida explained to him, "His body is pretty bruised up even though he used his quirk to shield himself. Luckily he didn't break any bones."
Bakugo felt that as Iida explained what happened. He was there, but it still felt weird that Iida was explaining how he was doing.
"We need to let him rest though. Recovery Girl can't heal him until he gets some rest," Sato explained to him.
Bakugo's eyes widened, looking a little pale for a moment. He avoided eye contact with everyone and took a sip from his hot tea. For a moment, he just sat there worried about his friend.
They all looked at him, knowing full well that he was spacing out after what happened. Chloe felt it too and held his hand to help him wake up.
Bakugo noticed her and looked up to see Chloe looking at him. He couldn't help notice her smile, but he hesitated to acknowledge her. For a moment, he felt that comfort coming from her. He wanted to take her hand, but something was stopping him from doing so. Then he looked away, unable to face her.
That hurt Chloe a bit, but she let it slide for now.
Bakugo looked up, noticing that Kirishima was still asleep on the Nurse's bed. He noticed that his legs felt a little less sluggish and moved them ever so slightly. Once he got his legs on the floor, he tried his best to move towards him.
"Bakugo, what're you doing? You shouldn't be moving around so much," Iida told him.
Bakugo ignored him and kept walking towards Kirishima. His legs felt a little weird, causing him to stumble a bit. Chloe went to help him, but he gave her a look to leave him alone. She backed off, knowing that he needed to do this by himself. Bakugo kept going, looking to see Kirishima still asleep. He felt himself stumble, but kept his eyes on Kirishima.
Soon enough, he sat down on the chair next to Kirishima's bed. Bakugo noticed how quiet he was as he slept there. Something about it felt weird watching him sleep, but he had to make sure that he was okay. His arms were bandaged up from the burns and had a couple of bandages on his face from being bruised. Bakugo felt his chest ache seeing his friend like this, even if it was hard to admit. Him and Kirishima have been friends for a while now, even if he didn't always treat him like one.
Bakugo just hoped that he would pull through just like the other time. Something about this though seemed worse than before just based on his injuries. Bakugo tightened his fists around his pants, feeling frustrated that he couldn't do anything for him. He could barely even look at him the longer he sat there.
"Kirishima... I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you this time around..." Bakugo said under his breath.
Everyone stood around the Nurse's Office, feeling bad for Bakugo. For once, they felt like Bakugo needed some support. Chloe really wanted to join in, but something told her to leave him alone. He looked like he needed to be left alone for a moment. Iida felt awful for what happened to Kirishima, but knew that he had let Recovery Girl handle things.
"Does anyone else need healing?" Recovery Girl asked them, trying to make things less awkward.
Iida looked down at his engines, catching her attention. His engines were damaged pretty badly, but then he noticed Chloe who was badly hurt more than him.
"You should check on Chloe. She needs the healing more than I do," Iida told her.
"What? No I don't," Chloe said back, "I'm fine. Your quirk is damaged. It's probably more important to heal since your Class Rep."
Iida didn't want to argue with her, but knew that she wouldn't back down until she got her way. Before anyone could get healed, Melissa came running in to check on everyone. She almost tripped with a toolbox in her hands, but quickly fixed her glasses.
"S-Sorry I'm late!" Melissa exclaimed, "I just got the text Recovery Girl! Is it really true?!"
For a moment, Melissa stopped and noticed everyone standing in the Nurse's Office.
Including Iida.
Iida's face turned red from her sudden appearance, which didn't help her either.
"M-Melissa?!" Iida cried out, but then cleared his throat, "Wha-What're you doing here at a time like this?"
"I got a text from Recovery Girl saying that you guys were in trouble with the League of Villains. Don't tell me that all of that damage was caused by them?!" Melissa explained to them.
No one said anything and were still processing what just happened as well. Melissa's eyes widened in shock, seeing them all so sad. Iida couldn't even look at her as she stood there, waiting for an answer.
"It's all true dear," Recovery Girl said back, "Unfortunately, Skylar is a part of the League of Villains. We need to heal everyone so they can go after Midoriya and Adrien."
Melissa's eyes widened in shock, making them realize that she knew about what happened with Midoriya and Adrien. Recovery Girl seemed to be straight forward with her text, which made it all the more harder to listen to.
"No way... Deku and Adrien..." Melissa said under her breath, "They really were... captured...?"
Iida felt bad for her, but tried to stand tall and be Class 2-A's Class Rep. He couldn't let her see him like this, not when things were a bit complicated. Without thinking, Iida placed his hand on her shoulder. That seemed to grab her attention as she stared up at him.
"Melissa. We'll get them back," Iida said to her, "We all will. As Class Rep., I won't let Midoriya and Adrien down. We'll still standing and want to help them in any way that we can."
Melissa's eyes looked like she was about to tear up. She soon noticed how hurt he looked and tried to wipe away her tears. Iida could tell that she was trying to be strong and put her toolbox down.
"Don't worry. I'm here to help in any way that I can as well," Melissa told him.
Iida was confused as to why she brought over a toolbox as she sat down on a nearby chair. Then she pulled a chair closer to her and pulled out some familiar looking tools.
"Well? Don't you need some repairs?" Melissa asked Iida, "Recovery Girl told me that you damaged your engines pretty badly. That's why I brought these."
Iida felt his face turn red, realizing that he wasn't alone in the room. Alya and Chloe gave each other knowing looks, which just made Iida's face burn bright red even more. Even Sato felt a little bit awkward being the room with them.
"Me-Melissa? I-I don't know if this is the best time to be doing this," Iida said back, looking a bit flustered.
"Don't worry! It'll be quick," Melissa explained to him, "Besides, I've been practicing on repairing engines a lot these past couple of days. I wanted to see if I could improve in just case this ever happened again."
Iida still felt flustered, especially with Alya and Chloe giggling in the corner. They tried to hide it, but they couldn't help it. Iida tried to ignore them and walked over to Melissa. He sat down with Melissa, still red in the face. As soon as he lifted his pantleg, Melissa went right to work. Iida tried to ignore them, but it was still awkward with them all there. It felt much more relaxing when it was just the two of them.
Bakugo eyed Iida and Melissa, surprised to see her here. Something about seeing them together wasn't surprising to him. Melissa seemed to talk to him more than anyone else ever since that incident with the akumas. He may not talk to Iida much, but he could tell that something was up with them. The way he looked at her felt like more than a friend. Melissa even more than him just based on how much she smiled around him.
It reminded him of the way Chloe looked at him for the first time.
"Alright. Who else needs healing? Alya? Chloe?" Recovery Girl asked them.
No one argued with this around, and Alya let Chloe get healed up. Once Alya saw how her quirk works, she was dumbfounded and a little weirded out. Chloe was still grossed out by it, but found it best to just ignore it. After Recovery Girl kissed her on the cheek, Chloe felt much better and was healed from all of the bruises and injuries. However, she felt like she needed to lay down now because of the side effects of her quirk.
"Hmm... Interesting," Alya said to her, "So you use other people's energy to heal them with a kiss. I'm guessing that's why you won't heal Kirishima yet because he's hurt really badly. He needs to rest before getting healed fully."
"I'm impressed. You got all of that just from one healing session," Recovery Girl said back, "You know, you'd make a great student here in U.A."
"You really think so?" Alya said as she felt a blush form on her face, "I've always wanted to come here ever since Marinette told me about it. It always seemed like a dream come true to come to a hero school like this. Although I don't know if my Miraculous could keep up with such flashy and strong quirks."
"I don't know about that," Recovery Girl said back, "Quirks come in all different forms. Yours might be just as strong as anyone else's here at U.A. if you know what you're doing with it."
Alya looked down at her Miraculous, wondering if it was possible to make it stronger. She knew that quirks were completely different, but maybe she could do something about it. She held it close, remembering Marinette giving her the Miraculous for the first time. How honored she felt when Ladybug herself gave her a chance to be a hero.
She had to stay here longer so that she could help her friends.
"Maybe I could get stronger here," Alya said under her breath.
Bakugo side glanced Alya, noticing her looking for confident. Something about having her here made Bakugo realize that they might be able to get through this without Ladybug and her teammates. They had their classmates and friends all here to help. Even all of the teachers were probably getting ready to go after Midoriya and Adrien. He felt like he could relax for a moment.
Then he felt something in his pocket and pulled out Midoriya's phone. He forgot that he had it this entire time. He never got around to calling her.
For a moment, Bakugo sat there wondering if he should call Marinette. Then hesitated to call her and soon shoved Midoriya's phone back into his pocket. He couldn't get himself to tell her what happened to Adrien. The last thing he needed was for Marinette to get distracted over there in Paris. She was Parisian's hero, he couldn't do this to her.
Not right now.
He soon got that sick feeling again in his stomach, so he took a sip of his tea. He couldn't stop worrying about Midoriya and Adrien, especially since Midoriya had a fever. He really wanted to run off and go get him himself, but he knew that he would just end up getting captured as well. Bakugo then looked up at Kirishima, noticing the bandages around his arms.
Bakugo remembered that Nomu burning him with its fire breathing quirk. Then something clicked for a moment. He saw Midoriya overheating and getting a burning sensation in his throat. His nightmares that he described to him, it sounded all so familiar to him for some reason. He didn't understand it at first, but now. He felt his chest ache as if he knew deep down inside what this meant.
"A fire breathing quirk..." Bakugo said under his breath.
Everyone seemed to hear that and all turned to Bakugo. Chloe was concerned about him and ran over to him. Before they knew it, he had already gotten up from his seat. His eyes were wide, as if he had seen a ghost. They all looked at him, worried that something was wrong.
"Katsuki...?" Chloe said to him, "What's wrong?"
Bakugo couldn't barely get the words out, feeling sick to his stomach again. He clenched his teeth as if something was building up inside of him after all these years. Bakugo kept getting putting things together, and it was all making sense now. Something about it though was making him feel even worse than he thought. A part of him wished that he hadn't tried to figure out what was going on with the League of Villains.
He held onto his shirt as if it might help him get rid of this nausea. Bakugo felt like he was going to be sick.
Chloe noticed how awful he looked and tried to comfort him.
"Katsuki. Please tell me what's wrong," Chloe said to him.
Bakugo felt something come over him as he clenched his fists tighter and tighter. Smoke was coming off of his hands as he clenched onto his shirt. All he could think about was the day he found out that Midoriya was quirkless. Images of him bullying Midoriya for not having a quirk. Joining U.A., The League of Villains, the Nomus and their unbelievable strength and quirks. It was all coming together, and suddenly all he could see was Skylar.
Bakugo couldn't take this anymore as his quirk began to set off sparks. Chloe was surprised to see him using his quirk in the Nurse's Office. Everyone was shocked to see him raging out since it had been awhile.
"Bakugo! Stop!" Iida cried out.
Soon enough, Bakugo let out his frustrations and anger towards the already damaged wall. He managed to barely damage it anymore than it already was. Everyone stood there, shocked to see him acting like this. He looked pissed off, like someone insulted him. Something about it felt like he needed this.
Bakugo stood there, heavy breathing out towards the night sky. It was raining outside, which soon hit Bakugo rather gently. He could feel it as if it was trying to calm him down. He snapped out of it, but still felt really frustrated what just happened. Soon enough, he turned around to see everyone looking dumbfounded.
"Katsuki...?" Chloe said to him.
Bakugo looked at his hand, feeling so sick to his stomach. He knew that what he had uncovered was true.
All of it.
He looked at everyone, still feeling that nausea settling in his stomach. He had no idea if anyone would understand what he had uncovered. They all stood there, waiting for an answer. He had to let it all out though. He couldn't hold it back any longer. Bakugo looked up at everyone, and even Chloe was interested in what he had to say.
"Skylar is a Nomu."
Another amazing chapter!
Finally! I've been wanting to get to this point for ages now! I love that I finally get to reveal a big part of this character! Yes, Skylar is a Nomu. Yes, the other said that she's part Nomu. There's a reason for that, and it will get to that soon enough. I didn't want to reveal everything all at once. There's still some things yet to be revealed! I love that Bakugo finally put two and two together. He would definitely figure it out after a fight like this. I just love that he did what he could and still wants to help Midoriya. I just love when Bakugo cares for his friends. I think it's such a great moment for his character. I can't wait to write about Skylar and Midoriya, even Adrien!
What's going to happen next??
More to come soon!
