Ares didn't know when it happened but eventually he himself had fallen asleep next Percy it wasn't until a shaking awoke him. His brother, Apollo had just come back from his duties to check on the young Demi goddess to find his brother fast asleep with her sleeping on his shoulder, Apollo couldn't help but grin, deep down he hoped there was someone out there like Percy for Ares. Even though he and his other siblings never showed it much, they truly did care for their older brother. Yes, he was often cruel and violent. That's not always what he was like, especially when they were children, he always used to play games with them and make them laugh and smile, but that was always behind closed doors never did he show that to everyone else. So people only really know him as the violent bloodthirsty God of war, Apollo had seen how Percy changed all the Olympians for the better, he hoped that maybe Percy could do the same for his brother.
Ares grumbled as he awoke from his sleep to see Apollo grinning down at him, his smile as bright as the Sun.
"How did you sleep?" Asked Apollo, smirking
"Fine," grumbled Ares
"Really because last I recall Percy was in here on her own. When did you sneak In?" Ares rolled his eyes knowing damn well his brother wouldn't let this go, not in the bloody slightest.
"I awoke in the night and decided to take a walk. I heard Jackson yell and came in to check everything was all right. Is that alright with you?"
Apollo's smile bloomed more at his words, his brother had admitted to caring for Percy whether he realised it or not. Even now as the two were talking Ares made no attempt to move as Percy was still fast asleep on his shoulder.
"I'm amazed she's able to lift her head," said Apollo, bringing the god of war's attention to percy her breath even as she drew in breaths, " her injuries, how malnourished she is it truly is a miracle she's not in a worse state."
"What do you mean she hasn't had any food?"
"No, in fact I think he was feeding her but she just didn't eat unless she was either absolutely certain that it was safe or it was a last resort."
Ares thought in Apollo's words it made sense Percy had now idea if the food that was given to her was poisoned or not. He applauded Percy's thinking but then again he grew more worried she must have barely eaten anything.
"Do you think he is in love with her?" asked Ares before he could stop himself.
Apollo stood there in shock. "What?"
Ares had quickly realised what he had said and tried to back track but knew it was futile.
"You… you asked if he loved her?"
"No,"
"Yes you did,"
"No you misheard me,"
"Oh no brother I didn't, you are worried he loves her aren't you? You're in love with her aren't you?"
The god of war remained silent; he knew better than to argue he got himself in this mess. Apollo was right. He simply turned his attention to the sleeping percy. He let his mind wander back to the dream he had of Percy the first time, what would it be like if he could wake up to her with him every day. The sun god watched his brother and it was at that moment he knew. He knew this was no ordinary love for his brother; she was his soulmate ,she had to be.
"Im glad its her,"
Ares didn't need to look up to know that Apollo had figured it out. Apollo simply set percy food down on the stall next to the bed and left, leaving the two alone. After a few peaceful moments Percy began to sture. She scrunched up her face in pain.
"Are you ok?" Ares asked, trying to help her sit up right. Percy flinched until she realised who it was. She didn't know why but she felt safe near Ares. She never has before so this is new.
"Hurts."
"I know i'm sorry"
"You didn't do it."
"Do you want something to eat Apollo brought it in."
Percy nodded her head slowly. She lifted a piece of toast to her lips taking a bite almost as soon as she took three bites she lept from the bed ignoring her bodys protest, and she threw up in the toilet. Ares followed her alarmed upon seeing her be sick he called for Apollo who rushed in with Poseidon, Amphitrite and Triton in tow. He helped Percy back to bed brushing his fingers over her forehead brushing her hair away from her face. They all allowed Apollo to do what he needed.
"It's ok percy after what you have been through this is expected."
Percy nodded weakly, tears brimming in her eyes. Amphitrite saw this and walked over to the young demigoddess gently pulling her into a warm motherly hug.
"Why are you here Ares?"asked Poseidon. Ares had to refrain from flinching, everyone knew that the sea god was fiercely protective of his daughter and he knew damn well that the man would most likely kill him if he knew Ares had stayed the night, granted it was accidental.
"I asked him to stay while I went out. I didn't want Percy to be alone." lied Apollo.
"Oh alright then,"
"Poseidon be nice," scolded his wife as she helped a weak percy take a sip of ambrosia.
"I'll be going now. I have things I need to do." said Ares nervously. He didn't want to leave but he knew he should give the family some space.
Both Apollo and Ares left, leaving the family to talk.
Triton sat on the other side of the bed rubbing his hand on his little sister's back, "how are you feeling sis?"
"Like I've been hit by a whale."
The family couldn't help but chuckle. "Well it's good to know you haven't lost your sarcasm?"
"Percy i've told your mother you are safe."said poseidon
"Really,"
"Yes she asked that you remain on olympus till Apollo gives you a clean bill of health, she has asked that you iris message her later though."
"Can she visit me? Please dad."
The others chuckled, Percy wasn't sure why perhaps it was because she was pleading with her father like a small child pleading for their parents to allow them to stay up longer.
"Your father knew you were going to ask that," began Amphitrite placing her hand on percy's cheek, "he's already asked your uncle if it was possible and they have agreed that because Sally is mortal she can't come here but we have a meetup stop that we can fase you to when you want."
"Thanks mom," smiled Percy, she had begun calling Amphitrite mom after the first ball she had been invited to. It seemed that she and Sally seemed to have grown to care for one another. They both care for percy and they both care for poseidon. It was good they were getting on.

"This is just a minor setback, perhaps this will be more useful to us in the long run. We have nothing to fear she will be back."
