Previously:

Twenty rounds and not one victory. Arlecchino was getting annoyed.

Her opponent Kokomi shuffled her deck for another round. This time, Arlecchino swore she'd win.

She sent out the Raiden Shogun Card. All she had to do was burst and she'd win. Easy, right?

Kokomi destroyed her before she could and her whole plan fell apart. Arlecchino had to surrender.

"Your strategy is impeccable," she said.

"Yours is obnoxious."

The Knave winced. Sweet-voiced Kokomi glared spears at her.

"Damn Raiden Shogun spammers like you are ruining Genius Invocation for the rest of us. Do you just hate fun? Is that it? Someone hurt you as a child and now you have to make sure everyone else is miserable like you? Hm? Do you think I enjoy it when I have to build my deck just to deal with the Shogun? Do you think it's fun for me when I have to kill your card turn 1 or risk losing?! Orobashi damn it, have some shame! Stop using the Raiden Shogun, you talentless, brain-dead troglodyte."

Silence. Arlecchino needed a moment to take that all in.

"Kokomi, it's just a game."

"I know. So why are you trying to ruin it with the Shogun? Do something original for once."

"Right. I'm done playing for today."

Arlecchino packed up her deck and left. Silently, Kokomi permitted herself a grim smile. She'd done her duty on behalf of Genius Invocation players everywhere. Another would-be Shogun spammer had been bullied out of the game.

Now:

Arlecchino wished she could've warned Kachina beforehand. When Arlecchino arrived, she saw the little Tyche sitting across from Kokomi. They were deep in a Genius Invocation Duel. Kachina made the mistake of using a Raiden Shogun Deck.

Kokomi's eyebrow twitched with annoyance, and her smile became very, very thin. Arlecchino got a very foreboding feeling in the pit of her stomach.

The little girl never had a chance. Kokomi's strategies tore apart the Raiden Shogun scum deck before she could burst. Kachina looked a little disappointed.

"Wow, you're really good at this," she said.

Kokomi, sipping her tea, smiled at Kachina.

"You did well for your first time. That strategy you pulled off towards the end was very clever."

Kachina gave an embarrassed smile.

Kokomi calmly offered feedback on Kachina's deck and strategy. She told Kachina not to get discouraged by one loss, as a single defeat wasn't always the end of a war. Kachina thanked her for the game and went on her way.

Arlecchino, watching all this, marched to the table where Kokomi sipped her tea.

"What was that?" she asked the priestess. "You didn't berate her for using a Shogun deck."

Kokomi gave Arlecchino a quirked eyebrow. "What kind of sore loser would berate a kid just trying to play the game?"

"Wait, so you'll chew me out for using the Shogun, but not her?"

"That's right. You're an adult. You should know better. Besides, Kachina is different from you."

"Oh? How, pray tell."

Kokomi smiled. "She's so cute."
