The fireworks exploded into a bloom of white and gold sparks, ringing across the night sky. A second blast formed a snowy flower of his homeland. The third shone the color of his eyes and of Lumine's eyes. Gold and white together in the sky—a reunion.
It took on a special meaning for him now. Today was the day they'd been parted. Last year, on this day, he stared up at that night sky, missing her. Now, each blast of white and gold rang with a promise; a promise of reunion.
He turned to the woman sitting beside him but couldn't speak. His emotions were just too overwhelming. She laced her fingers into his, and Yoimiya shot him a smile brighter than all the fireworks in Teyvat.
"I made these just for you," said Yoimiya. "I hope it's not too much?"
He shook his head.
"Good. One day, you'll be together again. I know it."
He rubbed his eyes.
Yoimiya leaned over and planted a kiss on his lips. Finally, he found words to speak.
"You know it's funny," he said. "I still miss her. But if I could do it over again, I'd come back to Teyvat all over again just to be with you."
