David Xanatos had walked into his living room and passed the mirror before realizing he didn't recognize it. But he did recognize who's image was in the mirror. He paused and then turned to look. "Owen?" He asked, using Puck's current human identity.

"Yes, David?"

"Why are you...in the mirror? And where did it come from?"

"I'm in the mirror because I've been cursed into a pocket dimension. The mirror sits exactly one millimeter from the edge of the dimension. It came from another reality."

"And why have you been cursed into a mirror?" He wasn't questioning the curse part, he knew Magic existed, it was why Owen was teaching David's son, Alexander, after all. The boy's mother was part elf and while she didn't have enough Magic to be excited about, Alexander did. Owen's job was to help him learn to control his power.

"I played a prank on some lovely women. It went a bit wrong."

"A bit wrong? How a bit wrong?"

"Two of them were endangered accidentally. Their children were...annoyed with me."

"And that led to you being cursed?"

"One of them is a sorcerer."

"But aren't you more powerful than a sorcerer?"

"He took me by surprise. I didn't expect them to find me or figure out I was the one who pulled the prank."

"Can't you just get yourself out of there?"

"No, because the mirror reflects my power back on me. The only way out is the mirror and it can't be broken from this side. It can be broken from your side, but that would just trap me permanently."

"Okay, is there any way I could get you out or Alexander?"

"No, only the one who cursed me. He's good at seeing loopholes and if he can see it, he can block it."

"How are you going to teach Alexander if you're trapped in there?"

"That's why he left the mirror here, I can still teach Alexander, I just can't use my powers to demonstrate anything."

"Anything else I should be aware of?"

The image of his friend made a face and snarled slightly and then sighed. "I can't lie or twist the truth as part of the curse. Any one who asks me a question, I have to answer honestly. It's a slight modification of the original spell."

David . "What was the original spell?"

"You ever heard of the fairytale 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'? In another reality it was a real battle between good and evil. The story carries some truths regarding the original battle, which includes the mirror. The one cursed into the mirror is required to answer questions truthfully, but only the questions of the person who cast the curse. He modified it so I have to answer everyone's questions honestly." Puck scowled. "As long as I'm in here, I have no choice but to obey his commands. No one else's commands, just his. And the first order he gave me was that I have answer questions honestly. The second order was a list of topics I'm not allowed to answer questions on."

"Loopholes." David muttered. "Because I could ask you for nuclear reactor codes if I was looking to take advantage of this situation."

"Exactly." Owen agreed. "Not that you'd ask about nuclear reactors, but you would try to take advantage."

"True." His friend knew him well. "Did you tell him that?"

"I didn't have a choice." Puck confessed. "The spell compelled me to answer and just so you know, he's not taking advantage either. He did it so he could try to close as many loopholes as possible and to do that, he needed to know who would try to take advantage and why. You, Oberon, Titania, Daemona." The Faerie King and Queen and the gargoyle originally responsible for Puck being in this reality in the first place. And David Xanatos, a multi millionaire trickster in his own right, it was one of the reasons they got along so well.

"Anything else I should be aware of?"

"He was fascinated to learn gargoyles are real too and wanted to meet the Manhattan Clan. I think he and Goliath might hit it off." Puck admitted.

"Can he use this mirror to spy on me? Or would he use you to spy on me?"

"I don't know if he could use the mirror to spy on you." Puck answered. "And because of the spell he could compell me to if he wanted."

"Does he want to?"

"I don't think it's in his nature."

"I can't take that risk." David shook his head. "I'll just have to make sure you're kept in a sound proof room, you can still teach Alexander and we'll keep you company, but I can't discuss business or any plans around you. I'm sorry, Owen, I can't risk him interfering in my own plans. Did he ask you about my plans?"

"Only if you're evil or want to take over the world or are a human monster or worship demons. You just want to be Immortal, mostly and there are lines you're not willing to cross to get it."

"Mmm." David nodded. 'There's time enough to take over the world once I'm immortal, if I decide I want to do that.' He thought.
