At Sunset Shimmer's apartment building, the Rainbooms have managed to carry Sonic all the way inside without any other people seeing him and they all settled him down on the couch. The girls were still having a very hard time believing what they were seeing right in front of them.

"Okay, are we gonna address what we're all laying our eyes on now?" Rainbow asked after a long moment of silence.

"I'll start us off." Twilight replied as she took a deep breath. "WHAT THE HECK IS THIS THING?!"

"Twilight, inside voice!" Spike told her as his owner panted heavily.

"Sorry, I'm just incredibly freaked out right now!" Twilight said in shock.

"You ain't the only one, sugar cube." Applejack assured.

"I've seen so many unusual animals, but I haven't seen one like this at all." Fluttershy admitted.

"It's actually a bit more human-looking if you ask me." Pinkie commented.

"Do you believe this blue creature came from Equestria, Sunset?" Rarity asked.

"I don't think so. These kinds of creatures have never been sighted in Equestria at all, even in its earliest years." Sunset admitted.

"So we're basically dealing with something completely out of the ordinary." Rainbow remarked, crossing her arms.

"Does it even talk?" Spike asked.

"We can't find out since this blue critter's all knocked out." Applejack replied.

"So what should we do while we wait for him to wake up?" Fluttershy questioned.

"I've got some good games if you all want to try beating my records." Sunset said with a smile.

"I even brought some challenging crossword puzzles." Twilight added.

"No way, Twilight. The holidays are about having fun, not doing more nerdy quizzes." Rainbow replied.

"They might be boring to you, but they're one of my many sources of entertainment." Twilight said in offence.

"Let's just all find somethin' to do while we're waitin' for the blue fella to rise and shine." Applejack said as the girls and Spike walked away to the other part of the room.

As the Rainbooms were busy with coming up with plans to do in their spare time, Sonic began to groan lightly a bit and slowly opened his eyes. The blue hedgehog then woke up and looked at his surroundings, seeing that he was in some kind of small room and was laying back on a couch.

"Man, that was one tough landing." Sonic whispered weakly, rubbing his forehead. " but how'd I end up in this place?"

Sonic kept looking around the room before eventually seeing the Rainbooms and Spike on the other side, having not heard him wake up.

"Perfect. There's some strange girls that I've never met before in here with me." Sonic whispered to himself before standing back up and wobbling a bit on his feet. "No big deal. I'll just tip-toe outta here, look for my friends and hopefully find Eggman so we can beat him into scrambled-"

But just as he was slowly walking away, Sonic accidentally knocked over a nearby guitar with his foot and caused it to make a loud noise once it fell on the floor. The Rainbooms instantly heard the noise and they turned around to see Sonic on his feet as the blue hedgehog stiffened a bit and slowly turned to notice the girls were now staring at him.

"Uh…meow?" Sonic said, smiling nervously.

The Rainbooms kept staring at Sonic silently before Rarity eventually fainted and fell back, causing Applejack to catch her.

"Okay, I can tell you ladies are a tiny bit shocked about what you're seeing, so I'm just gonna see myself outta here. Later!" Sonic said quickly as he started making his way to the door.

But then, Rainbow Dash used her own super speed to appear in front of Sonic and block his way out.

"No you don't, blue boy!" Rainbow stated with a glare.

Sonic quickly ran towards a window and opened it to escape, only for him to suddenly get enveloped by purple energy and pulled back inside. While floating over the floor in a straight pose, Sonic noticed that Twilight's hand was also coated in purple energy as this proved she was using some kind of telekinesis.

"Sorry, but you're not going anywhere." Twilight said firmly. "Not until we get some answers."

"Look, I don't really have time to play a game of 20 questions." Sonic replied.

"Oh, we weren't gonna ask you twenty questions." Pinkie said with her usual cheery smile. "Just about two or three."

"First of all, who or what are you?" Sunset asked with her arms crossed.

Sonic felt like he didn't have time for a calm type of interrogation with Eggman most likely somewhere in whatever kind of world he was in, but he couldn't get out of Twilight's telekinetic grip and his instincts were telling him these girls and their talking dog weren't really bad. He'd most likely get out of this predicament and get to know the Rainbooms better by answering them.

"Well first of all, I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog." Sonic told the girls.

"I actually knew you were a hedgehog. I've met a lot of them." Fluttershy said shyly.

"And hedgehogs aren't blue or stand like a normal person." Spike added.

"Yeah. I'm one of a kind." Sonic replied.

"Second question, how come you fell outta the sky?" Rainbow asked.

"That's a pretty long story. First of all, I was battling an old enemy of mine, he used these special gems to transport me to another world and then I shot out of a big flash in the sky that sent me falling all the way down to solid stone." Sonic explained. "So yeah, that's my story."

The Rainbooms looked at each other with raised eyebrows, finding it a bit difficult to believe what Sonic was telling them.

"How are we supposed to know you're telling us the truth, mister Sonic the Hedgehog?" Rarity questioned.

"I'll know." Sunset replied. "Twilight, think you can put him down?"

Twilight took a minute to think and nodded to her friend, lowering Sonic back on the floor and deactivate her magic.

"Sonic, right? I'm gonna need you to hold your arm out to me." Sunset instructed. "I'm not gonna hurt you or burn your skin off. Trust me."

"I don't know you a whole lot…but I'm willing to take the risk anyway." Sonic said casually, holding his arm out straight.

"Wow. This hedgehog's got guts." Rainbow admitted, slightly impressed.

"And he's a little bit straight forward when it comes to strangers." Applejack commented.

When Sunset grabbed onto Sonic's wrist, her eyes flashed white and she began seeing the blue hedgehog's memories. Him and Tails defeating Eggman on his Death Egg space station, Knuckles being tricked into fighting Sonic due to thinking he was after the powerful Master Emerald, Sonic and his friends battling against Perfect Chaos, him and Shadow stopping Space Colony Ark from crashing into the planet, Team Sonic combining their powers to defeat Metal Overlord, Sonic and Blaze combining their powers when fighting Eggman and Eggman Nega, Super Sonic destroying Dark Gaia at the center of the world, the blue hedgehog saving the Wisps on Eggman's space amusement park, Sonic and his classic counterpart destroying the Time Eater, him fighting against the Deadly Six on the Lost Hex, the Resistance winning the war against the Eggman Empire, Super Sonic destroying all the Titans and The End on the hidden Starfall Islands, and finally Sonic and his friends invading Eggman's base before they were all engulfed by the bright white light of chaos energy. When the memories were finally over, Sunset's eyes returned to normal and she pulled her hand away with a very shocked expression.

"You…you've been through so much. You didn't just defeat a mad scientist, you also beat…gods of destruction, genocidal monsters, robotic conquerors and so much more." Sunset said, absolutely stunned by everything Sonic has done in his heroic life.

"Wait, you saw my own memories? That's kinda what I call an invasion of privacy." Sonic quipped.

"Yeah, it's…pretty much my magical ability." Sunset replied, looking at the geode around her neck.

"Magic? As in the stuff used for stage acts?" Sonic asked with a surprised look.

"That's for somebody else we know." Twilight answered.

"We get our magic from these little beauties." Rarity added while gesturing to her geode.

"Magic jewellery. I get those in my world, too." Sonic replied. "By the way, I didn't really get your names."

"Well, I'm Sunset Shimmer and these are my friends, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity." Sunset introduced.

"And this is my dog, Spike." Twilight added, holding up Spike in her arms.

"Sup." Spike said with a cool smile.

"Nice to meet you ladies. And dog." Sonic said kindly.

"So, you were telling the truth about how you were zapped into our world while fighting your greatest villain?" Sunset asked.

"Yeah, Dr Eggman. He's been hatching schemes for world domination for way too long." Sonic answered.

"Dr Eggman? What kind of villain name is that?" Rainbow asked, laughing a bit.

"I know. It's pretty dumb when you think about it." Sonic snickered in agreement. "But still, he's done a ton of super bad things."

"He does sound really mean." Fluttershy said.

"And you've beaten him every single time?" Applejack asked.

"Sure have. With some help from my friends most of the time, we always managed to take him down." Sonic told the girls.

"You sound quite impressive to have done these sort of things." Rarity complimented.

"Thanks. I do my best." Sonic replied. "Though right now, Eggman's gotta be somehow hiding in this world and all my friends were pulled into the energy burst that sent us here. I've gotta find them and the Chaos Emeralds, which are also the special gems that started this whole mess."

"Well, sounds like you need some help to do all that." Sunset said. "And we can do just that."

"Wow, really? You girls wanna help me out with finding my friends and the emeralds and kicking Eggman's butt?" Sonic asked with a smile.

"Sure, Sonic. I mean, we've done this sorta thing before." Applejack replied.

"Stopping evil people ain't exactly new to us." Rainbow added.

"Exactly! We've defeated Sunset when she was possessed by the magic of a crown she stole, a trio of evil sirens, Midnight Sparkle who's Twilight's evil alter ego, Gaia Everfree when we were on a school camping trip, Juniper Montage when she had a magic mirror, Wallflower Blush with a memory-stealing stone, Vignette Valencia using a magic phone to zap people into a white box and the Post Crush music duo who used a magical item to repeatedly rewind time to the exact same day." Pinkie explained rapidly before waving it off casually. "But that's all in the past."

Sonic had a bit of trouble taking in all this information that was fired at him. It was clear the Rainbooms had managed to beat threats that are somewhat similar to the ones he's gone up against, so that was enough to convince him.

"Okay. You girls are cool in my book." Sonic declared, holding his fist out to them. "So what do you say? Team?"

The Rainbooms and Spike looked at each other and nodded while smiling before they placed their fists against Sonic to prove their new companionship.

"Team." They all said in determination.

"Now this is where the crossover starts to get good." Pinkie said the the viewers, causing Sonic to look at her strangely.

"What's she talking about?" Sonic questioned.

"It's best not to question it." Twilight whispered.

"Pinkie's a mystery that we'll never be able to fully solve." Sunset added.

"But she's always very fun." Fluttershy assured.

"Got it." Sonic replied. "So, do you girls know a good place I can sleep for now? It's getting a bit dark."

"You can bunk with me, Sonic." Sunset offered. "I mean, you're already in my room."

"Much obliged." Sonic said with a cool salute.

(Linebreak)

Meanwhile in a distant forest that was far away from Canterlot City, the research base tower that Sonic and his friends attacked earlier was resting on the edge of a tall hill cliff with a few damage marks on the steel platings. Inside, Dr Eggman was laying on the ground and slowly sat up while groaning a bit before he saw a few of the machinery in the control room was offline.

"Oh, how wonderful." Eggman groaned sarcastically, standing up and dusting off his clothes. "Orbot! Cubot! Where are you?!"

Some metal pieces on the floor fell apart from each other and Eggman's two robotic assistants emerged.

"Did you shout us, boss?" Orbot asked.

"Of course, I was. It's not like there's anyone else here for me to talk to." Eggman retorted.

"I am still here as well, father." Sage said, appearing next to her creator/father figure.

"Oh, yes. My apologies, Sage." Eggman replied after being startled a bit by her appearing act. "Now then, what's our current status?"

"From all indications, we have been unintentionally sent into a different dimension we are not familiar with." Sage informed, showing a holographic map that was glitching out of control.

"Obviously from that burst of chaos energy that my machine caused when it overloaded." Eggman muttered.

"In hindsight, we really should have put some safety protocols on it." Orbot said.

"Or at least use something less dangerous-looking." Cubot added.

"That doesn't matter now!" Eggman snapped. "Right now, Sonic and his friends are most likely in this world and searching for the Chaos Emeralds as we speak!"

"Actually, boss, not all of them." Orbot told his creator before he reached into the scrap pile and pulled out the purple Chaos Emerald. "Lucky for us, this Emerald decided to stay behind."

"But we couldn't find any of the others." Cubot said. "They've probably scattered themselves around this new world."

"As if I hadn't already deduced that. Since we already have a Chaos Emerald at our disposal, that makes us one step ahead of that wretched hedgehog." Eggman proclaimed with a smirk. "It'll be a piece of cake locating the other six and then using their great power to conquer this new world."

"Still focusing on your previous goal, eh boss?" Cubot questioned. "You sure are determined."

"But father, many of our forces were either destroyed in the previous battle or are still in our world." Sage reminded. "Without additional aid to accelerate our search for the Chaos Emeralds, our chances are slim while Sonic has the better advantage with his friends."

"As always, Sage, you make an excellent point. What we need is a new game-changer that Sonic has never faced before." Eggman said, folding his hands together. "If we were to acquire something that holds a powerful source from this new world, we can crush that blue nuisance once and for all! And then, my vision of a wonderful new world for my Eggman Empire will finally become a reality! Hahahahaha!"

"I hate to burst your bubble, boss, but it's not like the solution is just going to simply fall right into our hands." Orbot admitted.

Just before Eggman could argue with his robotic henchman, a small bright light from the front of the room caught his attention and he turned to see a small floating orb of multicoloured light, which flew through a cracked hole in the front window. The rainbow-glowing orb made its way towards Orbot and Cubot and it hovered over the Chaos Emerald in the red robot's hand.

"What in the world is that supposed to be?" Eggman asked, curious and surprised by the rainbow orb's appearance.

"I am unable to identify this unusual form of energy." Sage replied, studying it carefully.

The rainbow-coloured orb then shot down into the purple Chaos Emerald and Orbot dropped it out of shock by what happened. A bright light illuminated from the Emerald and it shot out before taking on a new form, which was a rainbow-coloured Emerald he exact same size and it shimmered sparkly while showing off its many different colours.

"Oh my! That was very unexpected!" Orbot exclaimed.

"I know! That weird little shiny ball just made a new Emerald by sticking itself into the one we've got!" Cubot stated shockingly as he picked up the purple Chaos Emerald.

Eggman silently looked at the new Rainbow Emerald that laid on the floor and he slowly reached towards it, grabbing the new Emerald and holding it up with an intrigued look.

"Well now, this is certainly an interesting development for us. Some kind of strange light floats its way into my stronghold, infuses itself into the Chaos Emerald and creates a brand new Emerald that holds brand new power that apparently resides in this world." Eggman said.

"I do detect that this world holds traces of the same unidentifiable energy coming from that new Emerald. However, we lack the experience we require to properly utilise this unknown power." Sage informed.

"All in good time, Sage. Soon, I'll be able to harness this new unlimited power and then Sonic shall finally meet his match." Eggman replied, grinning in a very sinister way while not taking his eyes off his new Rainbow Emerald.
