Months later
Brooke and Lucas had met with Brooke's OB. And discussed their next steps.
As they announced their want to go through the IVF process.
The OB understood and empathized with the couple.
Everyone at this point. Knew that the adoption didn't happen.
They were very eager to start a family.
After explaining what could possibly go emotional/mental toll this would take on Brooke.
What could go wrong during this pregnancy given this route
The OB explained the process step by step.
Lucas shifted uncomfortable in his seat.
Brooke could care less about cost and was ready and prepared to do more than one cycle. If that's what it takes. All this she explained to the OB.

That day Brooke was given her first dose of fertility drugs.
And she's been taking it at the same time and place on her body for days now.
She was getting multiple blood tests and ultrasounds.

I scheduled my egg removal surgery. Once the procedure was happened and finished.
Along with Lucas donating his sperm.
I felt hopeful. That this could happen. That our want for a family would be reality.
The uniting of sperm and egg took hours.
I couldn't read Lucas's face as we waited.
I was given medication to prepare my uterus for the implementation.
Lucas was by my side. As the doctor implanted the embryos
Now it was just a matter of waiting and seeing how many would implant. If any would.
