A/N: HI.

When Isabella opened her eyes the first thing she noticed was that she had been washed, tucked, and pampered. She lay in a guest room, not...their room where they had consummate their marriage.

She wasn't sure if she should feel upset or not. She wasn't sure if she felt anything inside but externally-

Her skin felt scrubbed, clean, ..shaved?

Kicking her throw blanket aside she saw that her legs had definitely been shaved for her.

And her underarms.

She was dressed in comfy pomegranate-colored sweats, a matching slinky off the shoulder sweater and plain white ankle socks.

Her hair felt clean to. Tentatively, she reached up and touched her hair, revealing how soft and unexpectedly short it was.

She felt an echo of an emotion she couldn't recognize at the moment before her numbing defense mechanisms kick back in full force.

She knew that this situation was fucked and weird as hell but she felt comfortable. She physically needed this vampire to stay.

The mind is a powerful tool.

Her nudger moved against her resting palm. 'Time to feed the human,' she thought with a grimace. Funny how little inside jokes about her mortality seemed more of an insult than a loving comment...

Just as she was about to get up from the bed Red Eyes appeared in her doorway. Bella, being so used to Vampire behavior and craving the supernatural, merely raised her eyebrows.

The Vampire frowned at her reaction and gestured for her to follow.

She did without question.

"How.." Her voice was so horse that a bit of blood dribbled down her chin as she tried to talk to the Vampire. "How did you know that I'd survive the jump?" Bella rasped awkwardly from her perch on the kitchen stool.

"I didn't." The Vampire said flippantly, tossing Bella an apple as she opened a window to let the air in.

"Oh." Bella murmured another emotion flickering up, 'disturbance' her mind supplied for her; as she frowned and continued to nibble on her fruit.

"Why are you here?" Bella finally blurted out abruptly, surprising herself as well as the Vamp with her urgency and desperation.

Turning the vampire smiled a frighteningly genuine smile. "Finally the human shows some sign of intelligence. Good girl." She crooned.

Another flicker of an emotion-irritation- briefly agitated her chest before leaving. The emotion must've been plain as day on her face because the Vampire laughed heartily before gliding over and cupping Bella's cheeks.

"Perhaps all is not lost yet, young one. I came here to give you a purpose. To remake you in my image." She said with a strange glint in her eyes.

Bella stared at her stained teeth.

They were red.
