Theory#18: Demerzel hid in Dystnine to get close to Copen and learn more about him.
Demerzel's voice when defeated sounds like Demerzel's voice over the speakers. The supposed "Hard Light Septima" may be Demerzel's Azure Striker. The Azure Striker can create solid chains, so the "clones" of the Falcons may come from Demerzel's Septima. The swords Dystnine uses are similar in appearance to ones made of yellow lightning, possibly implying a hidden Demerzel.
"You, why did you do this!? All of those humans were innocent! They didn't have to suffer, they weren't supposed to!" Copen fumed.
He was tired, the adrenaline was starting to wear off. It turned out that Asimov had managed to survive all of a century. He and Copen were apparently forced to fight again. He was warned previously by Kirin, who had fought Quill's leader already.
It seemed he managed to worm his way into Copen's world and returned to Kirin's to recover. Whether this was done using Astral Order or not, she was still trying to figure it out. She couldn't help him because she had to interrogate Serpentine. It was theorized that the phantom image of Teseo was responsible for Asimov's return.
Further implications put Elise as the main suspect, possibly reviving Nova and Merak as well. A warning was placed regarding the other Sumeragi employees Merak mentioned: Carrera, Jota and Viper. Jota and Viper were confirmed to exist already, but if they were mist images or not was yet to be determined. Dystnine's body was lying cold and deactivated in a corner. Asimov revealed he was using it as a disguise to watch Copen closely without his identity being discovered.
"How could you do such a thing without so much as a second thought!?" Copen yelled.
"You've been doing the same thing too, surely you've come too realize that by now.." Asimov stated.
Copen firmly gripped his gun and aimed a curious gaze at Asimov.
"What utter garbage are you saying this time?" Copen mocked.
"The one who truly killed your father, was me. And I've gone around killing other humans to prevent a situation where one makes my demise iminent. You have done the same on your end by eliminating any Adept that comes across your path. In the hopes that they wouldn't hurt any other humans. I hoped to conclude this battle in a draw by asking you to join us." Asimov admitted.
"You wanted me to join Sumeragi? The same company that had my father silenced? That's where you're wrong about me. I won't follow in his footsteps, not like that. I won't go down so easily. I heard of your plan to eliminate Joule and Gunvolt. He told me of it. I was later informed by Nori after she fought you." Copen rebuked.
"I see, it's a shame, that you plan to waste your talent knowingly. All the while being so carefree about it. Very well then, it looks like I have no choice but to correct this derailed train of thought you seem to be so proud of. Azure Striker, strike this foe with your truth shedding light!" Asimov answered before breaking his visor.
Copen had read about it, Asimov, his experimentation, everything. The threat he supposedly was, down to the last letter. Demerzel's file described the capabilities and condition of a child. But this version had seen a century's worth of battle.
Surely there would be drawbacks to such outdated information. But that was all Copen had to go on for now, and his own equipment. He had lost the Border revolvers ages ago. The first one to Asimov and the second one in Eden's Garden in Tashkent.
They were the same, but different. Copen lost someone dear to him as a child, all because of an Adept. Asimov lost something precious to him as a child, the ability to be human, to be normal. Now, just like the Sumeragi scientist that experimented on him, everyone saw him as nothing more than a monster, an inhuman freak of nature. But not only had Copen lost his father to Gunvolt's foster dad, he also lost his sister. Lola was the only one who was able to stick by his side for so long, just as she was doing now.
"Come on boss! You can totally beat this guy! " Lola cheered.
"We can't attack him Lola, not just yet. He has to have some sort of a trap ready if he lured us here so willingly." Copen warned.
"Psht, puh-lease! He can't be that prepared to fight us! He sure wasn't the last time we did! Especially since he doesn't know that we can do this now!" Lola teased.
Lola initiated Darkness Trigger. With every hit, every bullet and lightning strike Copen took, his damage output was drastically increased. He was able to hold on, until he couldn't. A sudden surge went through his system, followed by a growing tiredness stemming from his very core.
That's when it happened, a strike revealed Copen had a camera eye. It kept striking, until Copen's rubber skinsuit revealed a metallic skeleton. It was all over for him, for Lola, his sister, his aunt, Nori, his father, everyone. Nobody that was human would be allowed to live on this Earth that Demerzel would soon claim himself king over.
As he was forced to admit his death at the hands of an Adept, Copen heard the last words he'd ever hear.
"It looks like fate had other plans in store for me. First with Dr. Kamizono, and now with his menace of a son. And now that there is no one else of that lineage to stand in my way, I shall now rule this Earth as its king an lead all Adepts into a war against the remaining humans and purge this world of their kind!" Asimov spoke.
'This isn't how I'm supposed to feel, is it?' was Copen's last thought before everything went dark.
