Chapter 12
Makarov sat in his office, reading through the reports on Brain of Oración Seis, courtesy of the Magic Council. As one of the Ten Great Wizard Saints and the master of Fairy Tail, he was among the first to receive updates regarding the mission to take down Oración Seis.
Brain, the leader of Oración Seis, had been completely stripped of his ability to use magic. The elderly guild master carefully scanned the documents—Brain was now confined to a psychiatric ward, unable to cope with the loss of his power.
Makarov's eyes landed on the name of the one responsible for this outcome— Naruto Uzumaki.
A member of Cait Shelter, Naruto Uzumaki had built a reputation for efficiency and precision in his missions. Alongside his teammates, Wendy Marvell and Carla, his three-person squad had completed a year's worth of missions in half the expected time.
One of his aliases, "Orange Leech," likely came from his unique ability to passively drain energy. His mere presence siphoned magic from those around him, weakening long-range attacks and quickly exhausting close-range opponents. Combined with his skill in hand-to-hand combat and an impressive track record, it was no surprise that many considered him S-Class material.
But what stood out the most was his sealing ability—the very technique he had used to render Brain incapable of using magic. The Magic Council had assigned a team of expert scholars to analyze the seal, but despite their knowledge of ancient languages, they could only confirm that the markings originated from the Eastern Kingdoms. Even the most fluent linguists in Eastern dialects struggled to decipher its full meaning.
It was clear—Naruto Uzumaki's abilities were unlike anything they had encountered before.
Makarov leaned back in his chair and exhaled, deep in thought. Then, without warning, a gust of wind swept through the room. A man clad in a black robe and bandages appeared before him—Mystogan, one of Fairy Tail's S-Class Wizards.
"What do you think of him, Mystogan?" Makarov asked, setting the report aside.
Mystogan remained silent for a moment before answering. "He's an impeccable wizard… but as the records suggest, even I don't recognize the language he uses from his sealing formulas, even from our world's standards. It's safe to assume he came from another world different from our's."
Makarov nodded. "There are barely any records of him before his arrival at Cait Shelter. His skills have drawn a lot of attention, and whether he's an ally or not…" His eyes lingered on the blonde's official records.
"I believe he's a good person, Master," Mystogan said, his voice steady. "I wasn't exactly following him, but I happened to cross paths with him and his team on a few occasions."
Makarov shifted his gaze to Mystogan, noticing the sentimentality in his eyes—not directed at Naruto himself, but at the young girl under his care— Wendy Marvell.
"You vouch for him, then?" Makarov asked.
Mystogan gave a respectful nod.
"Very well," Makarov sighed. "I've seen him with my own eyes. He doesn't seem to bear any ill will toward Fairy Tail, but given my position, I'll have to keep an eye on him—make sure he stays out of trouble."
"You have my thanks, Master."
As Mystogan exited Makarov's office, he glanced downward, spotting the blonde happily devouring a bowl of ramen.
Then, with a gust of wind, the S-Class Wizard vanished without a trace.
Fairy Tail, Magnolia - Year X784
Naruto slurped up another mouthful of ramen, his face glowing with satisfaction as the warm broth filled his stomach. Across the guild hall, the sounds of laughter, clinking mugs, and occasional brawls filled the air—it was just another lively evening at Fairy Tail.
"Is it just me, or have you eaten nothing but ramen since you joined?"
Naruto glanced up mid-bite to see a woman carrying an entire barrel of liquor as if it weighed nothing. Cana Alberona, Fairy Tail's resident drinking champion, chugged another gulp straight from the barrel before wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
Naruto swallowed and grinned. "Meh, I should ask you the same, Cana. You should try ramen for once instead of drowning in booze all the time."
Cana scoffed, plopping herself onto the seat beside him. "Tch. Alcohol is liquid courage. Ramen is just fancy noodles."
"Fancy noodles? Fancy noodles?!" Naruto gasped as if she had just insulted his entire bloodline. "Cana, you don't understand! Ramen isn't just food—it's a way of life! A bowl of good ramen can warm your soul and heal your troubles!"
Cana raised an eyebrow before taking another swig. "Yeah? My liquor does the same thing. Besides, if ramen was so magical, I wouldn't see you sulking when we run out of pork broth."
Before Naruto could argue, a new voice joined in.
"You guys really need to tone down your habits. I worry about your livers."
A petite, blue-haired woman with glasses sat across from Naruto, her hands resting on the table. Levy McGarden, one of Fairy Tail's bookworms and resident voice of reason, eyed them both disapprovingly.
Naruto groaned. "Ugh, not you too, Levy. You sound like an old lady."
Levy adjusted her glasses with a smirk. "And you sound like a junkie in denial."
Cana laughed. "Oh, he totally is. I bet if someone took away his ramen for a week, he'd start going through withdrawal."
"Ramen is love, ramen is life," Naruto said solemnly, earning an eye-roll from Levy.
"I swear, you and Cana are hopeless." She turned to the nearby counter, where Mirajane Strauss, Fairy Tail's white-haired beauty and bartender, was calmly wiping a glass. "Mira, please stop supplying him with ramen. You're feeding his addiction."
Mirajane simply smiled, resting a hand on her cheek. "Ara~ But why would I do that? I haven't seen anyone enjoy my cooking this much in years~"
Naruto gave a thumbs-up. "See? Mira gets it."
Levy groaned while Cana just laughed, downing more liquor. "Fairy Tail's got the weirdest cast of people," the card mage muttered, shaking her head.
"And that's what makes it— the best." Naruto burped, raising his bowl triumphantly, finishing it thoroughly. "Mira another load please!"
"Kay~" replied by the white haired lady.
Cana continuously chug a barrel worth of liquor.
Levy sighed. "At this rate, both of you are gonna need medical intervention one day."
Returning from another successful mission, the guild doors swung open as Wendy Marvell and Carla—the latter in her human form—stepped in. Wendy looked bright and energetic as always, while Carla carried her usual refined composure.
Naruto, sitting comfortably at his usual spot with a bowl of ramen, glanced up and smirked.
"Oh, you two have been handling things on your own quite well lately," he remarked, his tone even but approving.
Wendy perked up. "We did our best! The mission went smoothly thanks to Carla's planning!"
Carla, arms crossed, gave Naruto a pointed look. "And you, Mr. Naruto Uzumaki, seem to be slacking." She let out a small huff of disapproval while Wendy giggled beside her.
Naruto, unfazed, simply rested his chin on his knuckles. "I wouldn't call it slacking, Carla. I was running back-to-back missions with you guys a few months ago. Now that we're all settled, it makes sense to pace things out." His voice carried a sense of quiet confidence—one that came from experience rather than arrogance.
Behind the counter, Mirajane chimed in, her warm smile ever-present. "Are you aiming for the S-Class promotion, Naruto? You may have joined us recently, but I wouldn't be surprised if you made it just in time, Wendy~"
Wendy's eyes widened in surprise. "M-Me? S-Class? That's way too much for me…" She waved her hands in front of her, flustered by the mere suggestion.
Carla nodded firmly. "Wendy is improving, but the S-Class trials are a serious undertaking. She still has room to grow."
Naruto chuckled slightly and patted Wendy's head, his touch light but reassuring. "Don't sell yourself short. Strength isn't just about power—it's about knowing how to use it. Keep going at your pace, and you'll be ready before you even realize it."
Before Wendy could respond, Cana groaned, setting her empty barrel down with a loud thud. "Ugh… God, I really hope you're not jumping in for the S-Class promotion, Naruto." She leaned back in her chair, looking up at the ceiling. "Knowing you, you'd probably breeze through it, and at least let me have my shot at it first."
Naruto smirked slightly, but his voice remained measured. "You don't have to worry about me, Cana. I'm sitting this one out."
Cana peeked at him through one eye, skeptical. "Really? Not even a little interested?"
He exhaled through his nose, shaking his head. "I've been through enough trials for one lifetime. Right now, I'm just focusing on doing my part, helping where I can." His words carried weight—not boastful, but steady, the kind of confidence that came from experience.
Levy adjusted her glasses, amused. "That's a relief. If you were in, the others would probably break down crying."
Cana stretched her arms. "Good. The last thing I need is competing against a guy who shrugs off dragon-level threats like they're just another Tuesday."
At that moment, Elfman slammed a fist onto the table, his voice booming.
"IF YOU WANT TO BE S-CLASS, YOU HAVE TO BE A MAN!"
Naruto turned his head slightly, raising an eyebrow. "…Right. Not sure how that applies, but you do you, Elfman."
Elfman crossed his arms, nodding firmly. "I'm just saying! The S-Class trials are the ultimate test of strength, willpower, and courage! A true warrior earns their place!"
Naruto hummed, taking a sip from his ramen broth. "That's true." He set his chopsticks down and leaned back slightly, his gaze calm yet contemplative. "Titles don't matter much to me anymore. Strength isn't about proving something to others—it's about protecting what's important. If you can do that, the rank doesn't really matter."
His words made the table go quiet for a moment.
Cana, still half-slumped in her chair, blinked at him. "Damn. That's… way too mature for a guy who just ate four bowls of ramen in one sitting."
Mirajane giggled behind the counter. "Oh, Naruto can be quite wise when he wants to be~"
Naruto shook his head, standing up as he stretched. "You guys focus on your goals. I'll be around if you need backup."
Naruto's eyes flickered to Wendy and Carla's wrists, noting the modified wristbands they wore—tools designed to enhance their training, balancing both physical conditioning and magic refinement. He offered an approving nod.
"You two seem to have adapted well to your training," he remarked. His gaze settled on Wendy. "How's the Gentle Fist coming along alongside your Dragon Slayer magic?"
Wendy perked up at the mention, "I'm doing great! I've started to realize how much I was wasting lots of my magic from large attacks and now I've started to get the hang of minimizing the use of my magic."
Carla chimed, "She started to get into acupuncture lately. Seems like she had new ideas about utilizing gentle fists to incorporate it with her support magic."
"Hoh~" Naruto perked. Gentle Fist was centered around the use of a Dojutsu— Byakugan after all, it's suited to a user who's well versed with human anatomy and to think that she'd progress this much on her own without much guidance? Yea- she's doing great.
"What about you Carla? Hope you're not pushing yourself on the edge with the wristbands. Knowing you I'm pretty sure you've figured out how to elevate it's difficulty to multiply your weight— Gravity to make even your most mundane training to an absurd one in just one press of a thumb." The white haired lady's cheek flushed a bit, he had figured her out.
"Don't overdo it aight?" Naruto told her with concern.
"Of course!" Carla with her usual dignified poise.
Still— when it comes to magic capacity Carla was lesser to Wendy, objectively speaking wise, Naruto monologue as he watched the two sit on his table ordering their share of food in which Mirajane obliged with a smile.
"She was aware of that— that's why she was making up for what she lacked with training her physique." Naruto was aware of what she's feeling, he was once like that too, no— it resurfaced after his loss of Kurama, his passing took a toll on him. Even worsened after seeing what his son has been pushed through— even once his son was once at the brink of death.
If it weren't of his Karma.
The power of Otsutsuki, he would've—
He sighed, erasing his thoughts.
Speaking of Carla, he needs to do something for her and Wendy, he wasn't long for this world so he had to make sure the two would be more than just competent before he leaves. He had heard of implanting lacrima, some even used it for those who weren't able to use magic. However even that has its fair share of dangers that would harm the one it's getting embedded on.
With Faux Baryon Mode— the Aokugan, with its perception and insight, it may give him a leeway to create one. A lacrima that will strengthen the two without cost. It's a good thing that the two were already training their bodies with the wristband he made for them. It's only a matter of time before he walks onwards to his next step on strengthening the two.
That is when he finally achieve self sustenance that will complete his magic—
No— his jutsu.
"Oh, Wendy's here?" A firm yet familiar voice entered their vicinity. It was Erza, clad in her usual armored presence, her sharp gaze scanning the guildhall.
"Good," she continued, stepping closer. "Naruto, can I borrow Wendy and Carla for our next mission?"
Naruto, still casually leaning back on his seat, smirked slightly before shaking his head. "No need to ask me, Erza. Just ask them~" He turned his gaze toward Wendy and Carla, nudging them with a knowing grin.
Wendy perked up instantly. "S-sure, Erza!" she responded, her usual cheer evident in her voice. The idea of teaming up with Titania herself was both exciting and nerve-wracking, but she wouldn't let an opportunity like this slip by.
Before the conversation could go any further, a loud voice cut through the air.
"NARUTO! FIGHT ME!"
It was none other than the local hothead, Natsu Dragneel, his fists already ignited in bright orange flames. Without missing a beat, he charged forward, a wide grin plastered on his face.
Naruto barely glanced up from his bowl of ramen. He sighed, slurping down the last of the broth in haste before lazily raising his left palm.
With an effortless motion, he caught Natsu's flaming fist mid-swing.
"Sheesh, Natsu! Chill!" Naruto yelped, though his voice carried more exasperation than any real concern.
The moment their hands met, the effect was immediate. Natsu's fiery momentum was completely nullified as a wave of exhaustion suddenly washed over him. His knees wobbled, his strength seemingly sucked right out of him.
"Wha—huh?" Natsu muttered, his vision going hazy. His body slumped forward, and before he knew it, he was collapsing onto the guild floor.
A burst of laughter erupted from behind them.
"Pfft—AGAIN?" Gajeel cackled, shaking his head at the sight of the fallen Fire Dragon Slayer. He crossed his arms and smirked. "You'd think you'd learn by now, flame brain."
Gray, who had been watching the whole thing, sighed and facepalmed. "Seriously, Natsu?"
Nearby, Happy hovered down beside his partner, gripping Natsu's scarf and dragging him away like a limp ragdoll. "Oof, another loss," the blue feline muttered. "You're just building up a losing streak at this point sheesh."
"Fufu~" A soft giggle came from behind the bar. Mirajane, ever the observant one, leaned on the counter with a warm smile. "You really are impressive, Naruto. There's only a few here from our guild who can neutralize Natsu that quickly before~"
Naruto waved a hand dismissively. "Eh— It's just something I picked up over time."
Erza, who had been quietly watching, folded her arms and tapped her chin. "That ability of yours… It's a unique type of suppression, isn't it? A force that siphons away energy from those around you, the stronger the contact the stronger the drain."
Naruto nodded, raising an eyebrow at her sudden intrigue. "Something like that."
She smirked. "I'd like to test it."
Naruto blinked. "Huh?"
"After Wendy and I return from our mission, I want to spar with you." Erza's eyes gleamed with a mix of curiosity and challenge. "I'm a close-combat fighter myself. If your ability can drain strength, then I want to see how I fare against it firsthand."
Gray, who had been listening, suddenly perked up as well. "That might be useful…"
Naruto turned to him. "You too?"
Gray shrugged, rubbing his chin. "If I can figure out how to resist it, that gives me an edge over Natsu. Not saying I need it, but, you know… a strategic advantage doesn't hurt."
Naruto sighed. "Why does everyone wanna fight me all of a sudden?"
Mirajane giggled again. "You're just that interesting, Naruto~"
As the conversation carried on, Cana sat at the far end of the guild, cradling a large barrel of alcohol in her arms. Unlike the others, she wasn't laughing or chiming in. Instead, she took slow, contemplative gulps of her drink, eyes narrowing slightly as she listened in.
Erza's challenge. Gray's curiosity. That strange ability Naruto had.
Cana wasn't the most physical fighter in the guild, but she knew that if she wanted an edge in the upcoming S-Class Trials, she'd need something more. Power, endurance—something to keep up with the monsters she'd be facing.
She took another long drink, letting the alcohol burn down her throat as she mulled over the thought.
For now, she kept her distance, drowning herself in liquor.
But soon enough, she'd need to step up, too.
Outside the guild, Mystogan stood in quiet contemplation, his gaze fixed upon the vast sky above. It was an old habit, one ingrained in him from years of vigilance—watching, waiting, anticipating the telltale signs of Anima's resurgence.
Yet, there was nothing. No distortions, no sudden shifts in energy, no ominous pulses from beyond the fabric of reality. The sky remained still, painted only by the hues of the setting sun. By all accounts, it should have been reassuring. A world free from the threat that had once loomed over it.
But it wasn't.
If anything, the lack of signs only deepened his unease.
Mystogan furrowed his brow, his hands tightening at his sides. Anima had always been a persistent force, a lingering shadow of Edolas' influence creeping into Earthland. Even when he had done all he could to sever its reach, traces of it remained. Its absence now was unnatural.
This wasn't a relief.
This was the quiet before the storm.
Though he was no longer bound by the desperate struggle to stop Anima, a deep-rooted nervousness gnawed at him. Something had changed, and he couldn't shake the feeling that whatever it was… it wasn't good.
The winds whispered through the trees, cool against his skin, but Mystogan barely noticed. He remained still, staring at the sky as though it held the answers he sought.
Something was coming.
Magnolia Outskirts - the Forest
The wind rustled through the treetops, whispering across the quiet expanse of the forest. Amidst the natural stillness, a lone figure sat atop a jagged rock formation, unmoving. His breath was steady, his posture composed, his presence blending seamlessly with the world around him.
Naruto Uzumaki, ever immersed in his mastery of senjutsu, remained in a perpetual state of Sage Mode. His closed eyes masked the awareness that stretched beyond human limits—his senses reaching out to the ebb and flow of natural energy, or as this world called it, Ethernano. Never once had he allowed his connection to falter.
It was through this very attunement that he sensed the approaching presence before it had even stepped into the clearing.
Without opening his eyes, Naruto exhaled. "You're not trying to be sneaky, are you?"
The footsteps halted.
"…No, I am not."
Naruto finally cracked an eye open, glancing toward the direction of the voice. A tall figure, draped in a long cloak adorned with intricate patterns, stood at the forest's edge. His face was partially obscured by a bandaged mask, but his piercing blue eyes shone through with an intensity that spoke volumes.
The newcomer took a few steps forward, his stance calm yet deliberate. "So, this is where you train," he mused, his tone even. "It's a fitting place for one as attuned to the world's energy as you."
Naruto raised a brow, closing his eyes once more. "You didn't come all this way just to flatter me, did you?"
A faint chuckle. "No. I came to introduce myself properly."
The cloaked man placed a hand over his chest in a respectful gesture. "My name is Mystogan. I've heard much about you, Naruto Uzumaki. I wanted to meet you in person."
Naruto quirked an eyebrow at that. "Oh yeah? What'd you hear?"
Mystogan's expression didn't change, but there was an unmistakable weight behind his words. "That you've taken care of Wendy."
At the mention of the Sky Dragon Slayer, Naruto's gaze softened slightly. "Ah, that." He shrugged. "She's got her fair share of trouble. Wouldn't feel right not looking out for her."
Mystogan nodded. "She's important to me as well. And because of that, I wanted to personally extend my gratitude. Whatever your reasons, the fact remains—Wendy is safe and thriving in Fairy Tail. You have my respect for that."
Naruto waved a dismissive hand. "No need to thank me, man. Wendy's strong. She's got a whole family here backing her up."
For a moment, there was silence between them. The forest remained undisturbed, save for the occasional rustle of leaves. Then, Mystogan's gaze sharpened.
"…You are not from this world."
Naruto stiffened ever so slightly. It wasn't a question—it was a statement. One laced with certainty.
The sage opened his eyes fully, meeting Mystogan's stare head-on. "And what makes you say that?"
Mystogan didn't look away. "Your presence. Your energy. It does not belong to Earthland."
Naruto stayed silent, letting the words hang between them. He wasn't entirely surprised—he'd already drawn attention from others due to his unusual abilities. But for someone to call it out so directly…
Mystogan took another step closer. "I know this because I am the same."
Naruto's eyes narrowed slightly.
"I, too, am not a resident of this world," Mystogan continued, his voice calm yet firm. "I come from a place called Edolas—a world separate from Earthland, with its own rules, its own existence."
Naruto remained quiet for a moment, absorbing the revelation. Then, he let out a short breath. "So, you're telling me you're from another world too, huh?" He may be naive sometimes but time had molded him to be wise and his guts was telling him to trust the man in front of him.
Mystogan nodded. "Yes."
Naruto crossed his arms, tilting his head. "Well, damn. That makes two of us."
The tension that had briefly settled over them eased just a little, replaced by a mutual understanding—an unspoken connection between two outsiders in a world not their own.
Mystogan observed him carefully. "I imagine your journey here was… unconventional."
Naruto snorted. "That's one way to put it."
Mystogan closed his eyes briefly. "Then perhaps, in a way, we are kindred spirits."
Naruto leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on his knees. "Since we're both strangers here, mind telling me how long you've been in this world?"
Mystogan exhaled. "I have been in Earthland for many years. Long enough to understand its ways, its people… and its dangers."
Naruto tilted his head. "And how'd you get here?"
Mystogan's expression darkened slightly. "Through Anima."
Naruto's brow furrowed. "Anima?"
Mystogan nodded. "A powerful force that bridges Edolas and Earthland. It manifests as a massive distortion capable of absorbing magic, objects, and even people, transferring them between worlds. It is unpredictable, a phenomenon beyond human control." He paused. "It was Anima that brought me here… just as it has displaced others before."
Naruto frowned. "So, this thing… sucks people in without warning?"
Mystogan's gaze sharpened. "Yes. Anima is a force of imbalance, one that once threatened to strip Earthland of its magic entirely. For years, I worked to stop its influence. But it wasn't just a mindless force. It had a purpose." He hesitated, glancing toward the sky. "It was created to sustain Edolas—at the cost of Earthland's magic."
Naruto's eyes narrowed. "Wait. You're saying it was man-made?"
Mystogan nodded, his expression grim. "My father, King Faust, was the one behind it. Edolas is a dying world, devoid of natural magic. He saw Earthland as a means to an end—a limitless source of magic that could be siphoned away to keep Edolas alive. The people of my world benefited, never questioning where the magic came from. But I knew the truth."
Naruto's jaw clenched. "So they were stealing magic? From an entire world?"
"Yes," Mystogan confirmed. "I came here voluntarily to put a stop to his endeavors. Without a doubt once I return back home I'd be branded a traitor. Living here I destroyed as many Anima portals as I could, but my father… he wouldn't stop." His fists clenched. "For years, I fought to prevent more devastation, but now in recent years…" He trailed off, glancing around. "There is nothing."
Naruto raised an eyebrow. "Nothing?"
Mystogan's expression darkened. "I have always sensed Anima's presence—faint traces, remnants of its passage. But recently, it has vanished without a trace. Not a ripple, not a disturbance. As if it never existed."
Naruto studied him, noting the unease in his posture. "That sounds like a good thing, doesn't it?"
Mystogan pressed his lips into a thin line. "That is what concerns me. Anima was my father's greatest weapon. If it's truly gone, then he must have found another way to achieve his goal."
A heavy silence settled between them, the rustling of leaves the only sound breaking the stillness. Naruto slowly exhaled, glancing toward the sky himself.
"It started a couple of years back. The moment Anima disappeared, it liberated me from its strain. However—" Mystogan paused, his sharp eyes scanning Naruto as if searching for an answer. "Considering the fact that you came from another world yourself… perhaps you have an inkling?"
Naruto furrowed his brows, tapping his fingers idly against his knee. "Truth be told, I don't really remember anything getting sucked into this place." He leaned back slightly, glancing up. "Last thing I remember was my son throwing me into another dimension—his pocket dimension, to be exact. I don't think he planned on tossing me here, though…"
Mystogan's head tilted ever so slightly, a rare break in his usual composed demeanor. "You have a son?" His voice carried genuine surprise, his expression slightly incredulous.
Naruto let out a small chuckle at his reaction. "Yup. Two, actually. Both in their teens. Oh, and I've got an eleven-year-old daughter too."
Mystogan's eyes flickered with something unreadable—perhaps curiosity, perhaps disbelief. He examined Naruto again, as if reevaluating him entirely. "You don't look like a man who has teenage children."
Naruto stretched his arms behind his head, his grin turning a little sheepish. "Yeah, well, that's 'cause I got a little… younger after waking up here." He exhaled, muttering more to himself than anything, "I should be thirty-three, but my body's probably in its late teens, maybe early twenties…"
Mystogan's gaze lingered on him for a moment, his mind clearly piecing things together. "A temporal regression, then? Perhaps a side effect of crossing dimensions."
Naruto shrugged. "Beats me. I woke up feeling lighter, stronger, and, well… younger. Not complaining, but it's weird when I think about it."
Mystogan hummed in thought. "That is concerning. If Anima was involved in dimensional transfer before, and it suddenly vanished without explanation… then something else must be influencing the fabric of reality now." His expression darkened slightly. "And if your presence here is not by accident, it could be connected to whatever force replaced Anima."
Naruto frowned, letting the idea sink in. "You think something wanted me here?"
Mystogan remained silent for a moment before finally saying, "Possibly. And if my father has found a new method to drain magic from Earthland… then we may already be too late."
A breeze rustled through the trees, filling the momentary quiet between them. Naruto exhaled through his nose. "Well, guess we'll find out soon enough."
Mystogan nodded. "Yes. And we'd best be prepared when we do."
