Journey to File Island
Last time, Team Rangermon met at Rangermon Headquarters to discuss the appearance of Destroyermon. There they learned that Destroyermon is strong enough to defeat both Rangermon and Yellow at their strongest. They also learned there is little information about him. Can Team Rangermon find any more information on Destroyermon and find a way to defeat him? Find out next.
This story opens one week after Destroyermon's attack against Rangermon and Yellow. Team Rangermon is still working on collecting information about Destroyermon.
"It's been a week and Destroyermon hasn't been seen, and we still don't have any information about him." said Rangermon. "I know, the Vampirians attacked were almost nightly. Do you think he's planning something?" asked Yellow. "I don't know. There's a possibility that he is." said Rangermon.
"Hey babe, you got an email. It looks like it's from Gennai." said Yellow a brief time later. "Let's see what he has to say. 'Rangermon, I know that you have encountered Destroyermon. I have some friends who I believe have information about Destroyermon and they could be good allies. Come and meet me at the base of Infinity Mountain on File Island at your earliest convenience. Gennai.'" read Rangermon. "I wonder why he wants you to go to File Island?" asked Yellow. "I don't know. I'll find out when I get there." said Rangermon. "Oh! Biyomon is there on File Island, she's visiting Yokomon Village." said Yellow. "Okay, I'll stop by there first and see if they have any information about Destroyermon and then I'll go and see Gennai." said Rangermon. "When are you planning on leaving?" asked Yellow. "Right now. I don't know how long I'll be gone. Let everyone know if they ask." said Rangermon.
A few hours later, Rangermon arrived on Coela Beach on File Island and made his way to Yokomon Village.
"I remember these woods. This is Native Forest." said Rangermon to himself as he entered the forest. "This is where I disappeared to while the Digi-Destined were saying goodbye to their partners and friends." said Rangermon to himself as he remembered his brief time on File Island. "Back then I was a bitter man who had no one to go home to and no home to return to." said Rangermon to himself.
Flashback
"Those blasted kids, they get to go home to their families. But I can't get too mad at them, they are just kids. I just hope that my family came back but something tells me that isn't happening." said Rangermon as sat down on the ground and leaned back against a tree and looked out across a nearby meadow. "Rangermon." echoed a woman's' voice. "It's as if I can hear my wife's voice." said Rangermon. "Daddy!" echoed a pair of children's voices. "That sounded like my kids." said Rangermon. Then Rangermon looked up and saw in the distance a young woman wearing a yellow sundress and in her arms was a baby wearing a blue onesie and standing next to her was a young boy wearing a red outfit and a young girl wearing a yellow dress. "It can't be. I can't believe it." said Rangermon. Rangermon stood up and started walking toward the figures. Then the two kids started running toward Rangermon. Rangermon then dropped to his knees and held his arms out in front of him. Then the two kids ran into Rangermon's arms and gave him a big hug. Rangermon wrapped his arms around both children and started crying. "Why are you crying, daddy?" asked the boy. "You got booboo?" asked the girl. "Little Red, Little Yellow, I'm fine. I'm crying because I missed you." said Rangermon through joyful tears. "Yellow, I missed you so much. And I've missed you as well baby Blue." said Rangermon as he stood up and gave his wife and infant son a hug. "We've missed you too, darling." said Yellow. Rangermon looked at the dimensional portal and remembered that he needed to say goodbye to the Digi-Destined. "Come on, guys. There are some friends that I want you to meet." said Rangermon to his family.
A brief time later, the trolley began to leave the island in Dragon Eye's Lake. "Hey guys look, it's Rangermon." yelled Kari. "Who's that with him?" asked T.K. "That must be his family." said Tai. "And he looks a lot happier." said Matt. "Kids, those are my friends, the Digi-Destined. They helped me find myself and bring me back to you. Say goodbye, kids." said Rangermon as he waved goodbye to the Digi-Destined. "Bye Digi-Destined." yelled Little Yellow as she waved goodbye. "Thank you for bringing our daddy home to us." yelled Little Red as he waved goodbye. "Alright guys, let's go home." smiled Rangermon.
End Flashback
Rangermon approached a tree near the edge of the forest that overlooked the meadow. On the tree are a set of initials and a date that have been carved into the bark. 'RRRSR., YRRSR., RRRJR., YRRJR., BRR Reunited 06/24/00' (Red Rangerus Rangermon Sr., Yellow Rangerus Rangermon Sr., Red Rangerus Rangermon Jr. Yellow Rangerus Rangermon Jr., Blue Rangerus Rangermon. Reunited June 24th, 2000). "I'm glad that the craving is still here all these years later." said Rangermon. Then he turned and headed towards Yokomon Village.
About an hour later, Rangermon arrived at Yokomon Village.
"Hi Rangermon!" said a small group of Yokomon as they hopped over. "Hi guys!" said Rangermon. "What brings you to Yokomon Village?" asked one of the Yokomon. "I'm on my way to Infinity Mountain to meet with a friend of mine and I heard that Biyomon; another friend of mine, is here and I want to pay her a visit." said Rangermon. "Our friend, Biyomon is here." said one of the Yokomon. "She mentioned that she is part of Team Rangermon." said another Yokomon. "She's the Biyomon that I'm here to visit. Is she still here?" asked Rangermon. "Yes, we'll take you to her." said a third Yokomon. "Thank you." said Rangermon.
A few minutes later Rangermon escorted by the Yokomon met up with Biyomon in the middle of the village.
"Biyomon!" yelled the Yokomon in unison. "Rangermon? What are you doing here?" asked Biyomon. "I'm on my way to meet with Gennai at the base of Infinity Mountain and I heard that you were here, and I decided to come here first. Have you found anything else about Destroyermon while you're here?" asked Rangermon. "I've been asking around and nobody hasn't seen him nor has any information on him. I asked Frigimon, Ogremon, Leomon, and Elecmon." said Biyomon. "Thanks, Biyomon for trying." said Rangermon. "I'm sorry that I couldn't be of any more help." said Biyomon. "It's okay Biyomon, you tried your best." said Rangermon. "I take it that you're off to Infinity Mountain now?" asked Biyomon. "Yes. Gennai is waiting for me, and I don't want to keep him waiting any longer than I should." said Rangermon. "Okay then, bye for now." said Biyomon. "Bye Rangermon!" yelled the group of Yokomon. "Bye guys!" yelled Rangermon.
About an hour later Rangermon arrived at the base of Infinity Mountain.
"Rangermon, over here!" shouted a man wearing a set of tan robes as he waved to Rangermon. "Gennai, it's good to see you again. Piximon, I didn't know you were going to be here too. It's good to see you again too." said Rangermon as he turned towards a small, white winged, fluffy pink Digimon who was holding a staff. "It's good to see you again." I've heard that you've become a good leader for your team and a good role model for other Digimon across the Digital World." said Piximon. "Thank you Piximon. Gennai, you said you have some friends who could be good allies, and they have some information about Destroyermon." said Rangermon. "That's right. They told me that they have a challenge for you." said Gennai. "Oh really, what's the challenge?" asked Rangermon. "They didn't tell us. All they said is that you must defeat them individually in one-on-one combat and if you're able to defeat them all then they will tell you what they know." said Piximon. "Okay, so when will this challenge start?" asked Rangermon. "It will begin when they decide to begin. In the meantime, they want to meet you at the summit of Infinity Mountain." said Gennai. "So, I'm assuming that is where this challenge is taking place?" asked Rangermon. "Unfortunately, we told you everything that they told us." said Piximon. "Well, this should be interesting." said Rangermon. "We will see you at the summit." said Gennai. At that, Gennai and Piximon walked away and disappeared shortly thereafter. "I have two ways that I can take to get to the summit. First option is to take the trail, and the second option is to do freestyle rock climbing." said Rangermon. Rangermon spent the next few minutes pondering his options. "I feel like giving myself a challenge so I'm going to do some rock climbing." said Rangermon. At that, Rangermon started scaling the cliff face and making his way to the summit of Infinity Mountain.
Rangermon didn't find anything from Biyomon at Yokomon Village. Gennai and Piximon are being cryptic as usual. I wonder who their friends are and what their challenge is? Find out next time.
