A Brother's Worry

It had been a few days since Jenna and John died and Elena was still in the process of trying to deal with their deaths. Stefan had been with her for almost all of that time trying to console her while at the same time trying to get a hold of his brother by phone. Damon had disappeared a few days ago and Stefan was really starting to worry about him.

'I still don't understand why he would just leave like that. I mean why is he not picking up his phone?' Stefan thought worriedly as he once again hung up the phone.

Stefan was currently at Elena's house waiting for her to get ready to go to school. He had tried to get her to take a couple more days off but Elena insisted that she needed to get back to school not wanting to fall behind.

"Is he still not answering?" Elena asked as she came downstairs to where Stefan was standing by the door.

Stefan sighed as he put his phone away.

"No he's not answering." Stefan replied looking at Elena worriedly.

Elena frowned slightly wondering what was going on with Damon.

"I'm sure that he's fine, Stefan." Elena said trying to comfort him.

Stefan still didn't look convinced making Elena look at him worriedly.

"Is something wrong?" Elena asked.

Since the last time that he saw Damon Stefan never got around to telling Elena about what happened with his brother as he was too busy trying to comfort Elena in her time of need.

"Honestly, Elena I don't know." Stefan said making her look at him confused.

"What's going on?" Elena asked.

"The last time I talked to him Damon reacted in a weird way almost like he was injured." Stefan said before telling her exactly what had happened.

Elena was surprised to learn that Damon had actually basically told Stefan that he needed him. She was confused however when Stefan mentioned the part where Damon winced.

"…If he was hurt shouldn't he have already healed?" Elena asked.

Stefan nodded.

"Yeah he should have but if he had been hurt I didn't see when it happened." Stefan replied.

'Was he attacked before he showed up at Klaus's ritual?' Stefan thought.

Elena continued to look at Stefan worriedly as she saw that he was deep in thought.

"If you want I can ask Bonnie to do a locator spell for you." Elena said.

Stefan looked at Elena for a second before answering.

"Thanks. You ready to go?" Stefan asked.

"Yeah." Elena said before walking out the door making Stefan follow right behind her.

As the day went on Stefan tried hard to not worry about Damon as he knew that at some point Elena would ask Bonnie for help. The moment school was over Stefan immediately made his way back to the boarding house hoping to see that Damon was there. Much to his surprise and relief he saw Damon's car right at the entrance to the house. Stefan immediately went inside and started calling for his brother.

"Damon!" Stefan yelled out.

At first Damon didn't appear right away as Stefan started to look around the house for him. All of a sudden Stefan heard movement coming from behind him making him turn around and come face to face with Damon. Stefan's eyes went wide with fear as he saw that Damon clearly looked like he was sick.

"Damon, what's wrong?!" Stefan asked worriedly.

"…I look that bad huh…sorry, Stef." Damon said as he slowly moved closer to Stefan.

Stefan immediately grabbed his brother and vamp ran them to Damon's bedroom. He quickly got Damon into bed and just looked at him worriedly.

"What happened?" Stefan asked.

"Sorry, Stef I didn't mean to keep this from you but I was hoping that I could find a cure to a werewolf bite." Damon told him sweat falling down his face.

Stefan looked at him in horror.

"You were bitten?!"

Damon slowly pulled his sleeve up to show Stefan just how bad the bite mark had spread. The look on Stefan's face was nothing but panic and fear.

"T-There has to be something that we can do." Stefan said as he started to feel himself turning back into the little boy who needed his brother.

Damon looked at him sadly as he saw that Stefan was just about to start crying.

"…Klaus is the only one that can help me." Damon hesitantly said.

Stefan looked at his brother shocked for a second.

"…Okay I'll get him." Stefan said before turning to leave.

Damon quickly grabbed his brother's arm making Stefan turn back to look at him.

"Don't, Stef." Damon said.

"I'm not letting you die big brother." Stefan said as tears started to fall down his face before pulling his arm away from Damon's grasp and walking away.
