T26: Planning To Leave.

Later, outside in the woods, in the tree-house, Rocco, Cameron, Leo and Will all sat in circle on the floor indian style, with Cameron holding Mickey and Will holding Todd.

"HE DID WHAT?!" Will screamed. Rocco had just finished explaining to him and the rest of the gang about the sheriff dropping by and asking Monica and him about Will's where-abouts, as well as the fact that the sheriff was Will's step-father.

"Will, it-it's okay, alright? Everything's gonna be okay, calm down." Cameron assured.

"How can i?! I'm wanted! I'm wanted by the law!" Will shouted.

"Please stop saying that." Cameron said.

"Well, it's true!" Will said.

"No, you didn't wanna run away. You said your step-Dad was going to kill and cook Todd for Thanksgiving dinner." Leo said.

"That doesn't matter! You know, i'm gonna get caught, Todd's gonna killed and cooked, and you guys are gonna go to jail for helping me!" Will said.

"We're just trying to help you and Todd and the cops will understand that." Rocco said.

"My step-Dad is the sheriff of Tofte! He's spent this whole situation to make it sound like i'm a runaway because of family drama reasons!" Will shouted.

"Okay, you need to calm down." Cameron said.

"Calm down?! How am i suppose to calm down?! I'm a fugitive! A FUGITIVE!" Will said.

Cameron reached into his right pants pocket and got out his cellphone and went online.

"What are you doing?" Will asked.

"I'm online, looking up you and Todd. If your running away is as serious as you're making it sound, it will be on here." Cameron said.

"How do you know?" Will asked.

"Will, you said that you and Todd ran away because you didn't want your step-Dad to kill him and cook him for Thanksgiving dinner, right? If the cops were looking for you like you were a fugitive, there would be multiple articles on here about you running away." Cameron said while scrolling on his phone with his thumb.

"Well, are they?" Will asked.

"No, not even one." Cameron said, still scrolling.

"Yeah, well, i just ran away with Todd five days ago." Will said before Cameron stopped scrolling on his phone. "Maybe the information is on all the social media sites."

"You didn't run away for no reason, Will." Rocco said.

"I know, i ran away to protect Todd. My step-Dad was gonna kill and cook him." Will said.

"Will, you ran to protect your friend." Leo said.

"To protect my friend? A Fox? Nobody's gonna believe that." Will said.

"You had a good reason for taking off the way you did, Will. The cops will understand that." Cameron said.

"Are you kidding? Seriously, are you kidding me right now? My step-Dad is their boss and the sheriff of this town. Everybody's gonna think that i ran away to break him and my Mom up." Will said.

"No. Anybody that knows you would definitely never think that you would take off without a good reason." Cameron said.

"Oh, yeah. My step-Dad, the sheriff, and the police force. That oughta do it." Will said. His cellphone then buzzed and he reached into his right pants pocket and got it out and looked at the screen with words on it that read 'MOM CALLING'. "It's my Mom."

"Are you gonna answer it?" Rocco asked.

"I might as well. I don't see any way out of this that ends with me keeping Todd." Will said.

"What?!" Leo said.

"Leo, my step-Dad is the sheriff, my picture is plastered all over town, and he was just here looking for me. I can't hide from him anymore." Will said.

"Please, wait. Just until we know for sure that-"

"That i'm out of options?" Will asked, cutting Cameron off.

"Yeah." Cameron said.

"Well, maybe she's calling to tell me i have to give myself up. She's my Mom, she'll know." Will said.

"Will, i don't care. Even if she is married to your step-Dad, it doesn't mean that she's not on your side." Cameron said.

"Cameron, listen to me. She's married to the sheriff of Tofte, who's the boss of this town's police department." Will said.

"I know, but Will, i've learned a lot from watching these crime shows on TV. And if there's one thing i've learned, it's never admit anything to anyone who's married or related to a cop." Cameron said.

"Crime shows? What do crime shows have to do with this?!" Will said.

"Please, Will. Don't take that chance." Cameron begged.

Will then placed his buzzing cellphone back in his right pants pocket where it stopped buzzing.

"Oh...my...gosh." Rocco said.

"Rocco, what's wrong?" Cameron asked.

"I lied to the sheriff. I told him i had never seen Will around here." Rocco said.

"No, no, no, that's okay. We don't want anybody to know that Will's here." Cameron said.

"No. Cameron, you don't understand how serious this is. I LIED to the sheriff about Will's where-abouts. I'm no cop or anything, but that sounds like a crime." Rocco said.

"It is. It's called "Contributing to the delinquency of a minor". We could all go to juvie for helping hide Will and Todd." Leo explained.

"Which is why...Todd and i are gonna have to leave." Will said.

"Leave? And go where? You can't go home, 'cause that's the place you ran away from. And you can't go back into town because your picture is plastered all over it in posters. Where are you gonna go?" Leo said.

"To the forest part of the mountains." Will said.

"To the forest part of the mountains? Why?" Leo said.

"Remember when i told you guys earlier that i had a plan on how to end this situation?" Will said.

"Yeah. What about it?" Cameron said.

"Well, before i left home, i went online to see if there were any fox villages in the area." Will said.

"And?" Cameron asked.

"Are there?" Rocco asked.

"Yeah, one. And it's further up in the Tofte mountains. It's called 'Fox Haven'." Will said.

"All the way up there?" Leo asked.

"Yep. And that's where i am going." Will said.

"But if you take Todd there, you can't go see him. Cause he won't be your's anymore. He'll be just another fox in the Haven." Cameron said.

"Cam's right. If you take Todd to the Haven, you'll never see him again. You'll have to say goodbye to him forever." Rocco said.

"I know. But i would rather never see him again, knowing he's in a safe place, than to have him with me and his life be in danger all the time." Will said. "We leave tonight. End of story."

"Okay." Cameron said.

"Fine." Rocco added.

"Whatever you say." Leo agreed.

"Do you think Todd will be safe there?" Cameron asked.

"I hope so." Will said.

"But...if the cops do find you before you get to forest part of the mountains-"

"We don't know if that'll happen, Rocco." Will said, cutting Rocco off.

"But if they do--and if they run you down to the station-"

"That won't happen. They don't even know where me and Todd are." Will said, cutting Rocco off again.

"Will, Rocco's right. That sheriff step-Dad of your's, he is not gonna give up. He'll know we helped hide you and Todd. We'll be contributors to the delinquency of a minor." Leo said.
