Just like in the summary, Husk isn't Husk. He'll be 99% different from the canon so don't get mad for what you'll read next.
Warning: a bit of hurt/comfort in this chapter.
"So where is your hotel staff?" Alastor asked, after looking around a little. "Ehh...well..." Charlie started. Alastor turned back, seeing the glare Vaggie gave him, implying that she was the only staff of the hotel. "Ohohoh, you're going to need more than that " Alastor commented, as he walked over to Angel. "And what can you do, my effeminate fellow?" he asked. "I can suck ya dck" the spider responded. A record scratch is heard. "Hah, no" Alastor replied.
Then, Alastor snapped his fingers and a girl appeared. She had red hair with a yellow stripe of hair, wore a 50' red maid dress and only had one eye. She looked around a little and smiled. Alastor picked her up into his arms as she looked at Charlie, Vaggie and Angel. "This little darling is Niffty!" Alastor presented to the trio. "Hello, my name is Niffty, it's nice to meet you" She looked at the three of them for another time before asking: "Why are you all women? Any men here?!". She got off Alastor's embrace, looked around and started cleaning, while she said: "This place is so dirty! It needs a lady's touch. Which is kind of odd, given that you're all women". She noticed more dirt and started to run around cleaning while repeatedly saying: "Nope".
Then, Alastor snapped his fingers again, this time a male demon appeared. He had the appearance of a cat with a pair of red wings with four rows of black dots resembling eyes. He wore a white shirt, a black suit, black trousers, a yellow bow tie and a pair of rectangular glasses. He was reading a book. He lifted his eyes from the book and looked around with a puzzled expression. Then, he laid his eyes on Alastor and said: "Where am I?". "Ah, Husk, long time no see! You're currently inside a hotel that just opened today, founded by the princess of Hell, Charlie Morningstar," he points to Charlie "to redeem sinners". Husk narrowed his eyes and moved his eyes from Alastor to Charlie and back to Alastor. "What are you doing inside this hotel?" he asked, staring into Alastor's eyes. "Why? Help run the business, of course!" Alastor exclaimed, walking closer to Husk and putting his arm around Husk's shoulders. "And you teleported me here for what?" Husk asked, staring into Alastor's eyes more intensely. "I thought it would be a good idea to have you included in this little project" Alastor explained "With your charming smile and welcoming energy, you're perfect for the front desk" he added, giving him a little wink, as to say please. "This is stupid" Husk growled. "No it isn't!" Alastor replied. "It's not stupid to you, but to me, it is," Husk said shooting a glare at the Overlord. Alastor moved away his arm from Husk's shoulders. His expression turned angered and his ears tilted back offended. "Husker, please," he asked. Husk stared at him. His expression remained neutral, but his ears tilted back a little. "Fine" he gave up. Alastor moved away, letting the cat pass and sit at the bar counter/front desk.
As soon as they finished, Vaggie stood up and said how it was a bad idea to keep alcohol in the hotel. Angel ran over to her pinning her to the wall and yelled: "Shut up!!! Shut. Up." and lowered his voice "We are keeping this" he said pointing at Husk, that just placed some glasses on the counter. "Hey~" Angel started with a flirtatious tone in his voice. "I'm sorry, but could you please not harass me?" Husk asked politely, with a tone that sounded slightly irritated. "Oh, please Daddy, I know you like this!" replied Angel, leaning in "I can give you a very good time-" "No" interrupted Husk "Thanks for the offer, but I'm not homosexual". Angel was going to say something else, but Charlie leaned on the counter, welcomed Husk into the hotel and said that he was going to love it. "We'll see how it ends" Husk replied, backing in his seat.
"So what do you think?" Alastor asked the two female lovers. "This is AMAZING!" was Charlie's answer. "It's...alright" responded Vaggie, not so enthusiastic.
Niffty was drawing on the floor of Husk's house, while Husk was solving a sudoku.
They were still doing their things when, suddenly, a chain appeared around Husk's neck. He immediately knew who was it before even hearing the man's voice. "Husker" the voice called. "Al?" Husk said, not expecting the other's return. "You're back!" he exclaimed, a smile spreading over his face. Alastor remained silent for a few seconds before he ordered: "Get ready to serve me and tell Niffty to do so too". "Of course!" Husk replied, his expression turning back to normal. The chain disappeared and Husk let out a small sigh. 'Oh, brother, you're still the same' he thought, smiling a little at the thought. He missed that deer.
"Niffty" he called, gaining the cyclop's attention. "Yes?" she asked, staring at him with her one eye. "Your father's back" Husk said, trying to not show the excitement in his voice. Niffty's eye widened, tears starting to form in her eye "What?!". Husk got close to the girl, knelt down and gently patted her back "You heard it". The tears flowed out and she hugged Husk, forgetting for a second how to talk. "When? How?!" she asked, sounding almost as if she were losing her breath. "He pulled me by the leash and said that he'll need our services later" he explained, drawing a circular motion on Niffty's back. "We should get ready".
Niffty gave a slight nod, drying her tears with a handkerchief and rushing to the bathroom. She had been waiting for her father's return for seven years and felt overwhelmed by all the emotions that formed in her heart: joy, unbelief, gratitude, confusion, hope, concern. He's finally back, back to her and her uncle.
Husk got up and looked at his niece's drawing. It was a drawing of himself, herself and Alastor walking in a park. 'She had improved a lot' he thought. It was nice to know that she hadn't lost her hopes and dreams even after so long. He was almost impressed by that characteristic of her personality. 'Well, time to get to work' he declared in his mind.
