"The World has changed"

Ankou touched the floor and a Panel opened, and he pulled a device from it, and put it in front of his mask, as Blackweregarurumon took his place at his master's side. The device amplified Ankou's voice "If only I could show you the things I have seen, so you could understand the things that I say, I have seen beauty turn to ash, lands that have prospered fall, as we lay hidden in the shadows. We wore the masks of the dead, and clung to regrets of the flesh, we realized humanity is a plague on this world, and we are the vaccination!" Ankou said with a raspy deep voice, as the masked Kurokami Brigade members that had come up with him pried Takajin off of Akira, and pinned him to the ground as Akira stood up coughing, as Ankou continued talking "But out of shadows also comes a ray of hope, She is the light and the darkness, She is the cleansing flame, She will clear the world of the abomination that is mankind. The Pain! Hatred! Fear! Regret! Lust! Lies! Greed! And Envy! These twisted children that turned against their mother, now screaming to be released from this mortal coil!"

A dark purple flower appeared behind Ankou, and blossomed revealing a beautiful girl in a purple and black dress, Ankou dropped into a deep bow that nearly had him touching the floor, so did the rest of the Kurokami brigade members on the platform with him and the ones in the audience.

"It's more merciless"

"Those people didn't deserve to die, when I was hiding among them some of them were my friends, and I grew to love them despite me being one of your faithful children Lilithmon, then I watched them die, for a few moments I reveled in their deaths, then the wrongness of it dawned on me. How can you show them anything if they are dead?" Shiru said before trying to attack Lilithmon again "I don't know why you have done this" before he could get anywhere near something hit him and he looked down to see a d-saber sticking out of his chest, and it quickly sucked the life out of him, and he collapsed to the ground dead.

"Now"

But before any of Kurokami Brigade could move towards Takajin, and Thania. A light flew into the arena shaped like a V, followed by a sonic boom that knocked everyone off their feet, and appearing above them was a weird muscular blue digimon. From it streams of light beamed up the digidestined, and before anyone could react, it was gone turning back into the beam of light and flew off leaving a sonic boom in its wake.

The young sage named Vergil turned like someone had said something to in "They are coming" he said to himself continuing to look in the direction he turned to face.

Digimon Sync Episode 40 "What's Past is Prologue?"

The Light stopped over a strange triangle shaped build also known as a pyramid, it changed into the blue digimon that beamed up the digidestined, and the streams of light shot from it, depositing its passengers in front of it the pyramid, they were all there, Takajin, Mikuni, Thania, Hikaru, Huang, Sorami, and even Tajiri, all seven of the know digidestined were there. Hikaru ran up to her brother, her new attire flapping in the breeze, then the siblings hugged. It had been months since they had seen each other. Hikaru turned to face Thania, she looked confusedly at "Who is that, is she also a Digidestined" she said turning to face her brother again.

"That is Thania, and yes she is the digidestined and holder of the digi chip of Curiosity. Honestly she is very weird, and talks very strangely like she is from another planet all together. They were interrupted when Thania joined in on the hug, making it kind of an awkward group hug.

Hikaru pulled out of the hug and looked around taking measure of was there and who wasn't, she turned to face Takajin again, who was still being hugged by Thania "Where is Juniko, every digidestined is here except her?" she asked looking confused and worried.

At that moment Thania let go of the hug and had a look concern, this expression was uncharacteristic for her "You speak of the truth with her" said Thania, before walking away from them both.

"What is she talking about, this truth she speaks of, Is Juniko dead?" Hikaru said seeing the look on Takajin face, it was like going to cry but holding it back so she wouldn't see him doing it.

"No she is Lilithmon now, she is not the person we knew anymore. Apparently she was her reincarnation and had awoken to who she really was" Takajin said clinching both his hands into fists, know now it was their fate as digidestined to defeat Lilithmon like they're the ones from the legend.

"You can't be serious, Juniko your friend and unofficial bodyguard, she would protect you till her final breath" Hikaru said confusedly "I can't believe that"

"She tried to kill me, she ordered our deaths right before we were rescued by that thing that brought us here, whatever that thing was?" Takajin said not wanting to continue the conversation, and Hikaru from reading her brother knew that and stopped from doing so. But she would bring it up later, she needed to know what exactly happened.

Huang watched the Subaru siblings arguing from a distance, he couldn't make out what they were saying, he also wondered where Juniko was and would ask about it later since he didn't want to be in the middle of that fight they were having across from him.

Sorami, and Tajiri stood separately from the others, they were taking measure of their surroundings, and where a possible attack could come from. Being guardians they would expect anything from their current situation and they were prepared for everything.

A person in almost the same attire as Hikaru, but red in color instead of the white one she wore, he ran up to the digidestined, and before he got to them he through his hands up in a gesture that he meant no harm, at that moment a ghostly appeared beside him.

"I am Damien Star, and this is Vergil, he was my apprentice from when I was still alive and an old man, what I look like now is what I use to look like when I was my apprentice's age. I was a digidestined one of the ones that were there for the defeat of Lilithmon" The ghostly image gestured to the person, who had run up to them. "As you can see things have changed, and Lilithmon has returned, We know because this temple is called Server, inside it is a virtual archive, if a book or document exists in the world it is represented here as a template, it contains the history of the world, every version of it from all perspectives" he paused before continuing letting everyone process the information. "When I was alive after the events of the defeat of Lilithmon, I wondered the world until I came upon Server, and I decided to found an order to protect it, we are called the Infinitas Sages. Vergil is currently the only member but if history shows he won't be the last" He gestured for them to follow him, and his apprentice.

They followed Damien star, and Vergil into the pyramid, within its wall it was wall to wall books, scrolls, everything had a weird shimmer to it like it was sprinkled with fairy dust, every shelf was decorated with gemstones that constantly changed color, what wasn't covered in jems had an intricate pattern carved into it that had interspersed weird text within it. The place looked order than time itself of an alien culture long forgotten by time.

"Vergil, get the follow books I mentioned to tell the story that they need to here, From The Digital Origin to the fall of the great one, and beyond" Damien said "I would get them myself but I am a ghost and can't anything of the living world, I used the last of my powers transporting you guys here and my time is nearly up, I am here to fill in the holes and help Vergil tell you the full story before I pass from this world"

"Excuse me, I have a question if you were there when it happened, why do you need books so you can tell us about?" Sorami asked questioning if validity of who Damian was, and if he was even qualified to even talk about this subject like he was.

"It's so I can cover everything, these are journals of the other Digidestined, their points of view are necessary, please listen as I clear up some misinformation that has been propagated throughout the years" Damian said "This is important for you to know"

"I already know. I am a descendant of Soichiro, his history I have already read since I was a child, I dreamed to be just like him someday" Sorami said "I was even named after one of legendary digidestined, a Sorami Yagami"

"Let me be clear some of that information was false, I want clear the falsehoods from the legends, what you read was the romanticized of what happened" Damien said gesturing for them to follow him again.

"Romanticized! You got to be kidding me, my daughter has been told the truth since she was little child I would never hold anything back from her, and you're tell me I have. I don't know if I should be offended by this" Tajiri Kamiya said finally speaking up, and stepping into the path of Damien "What you are about to tell probably is the romanticized version"

"It's far from romanticized, It's about love, loss, and regret, this is a past that needs to be told, If you or your daughter doesn't want to hear it then you are welcome to leave" Damien said looking very angry for an apparition. He started forward again, after gesturing again for them to follow. This time everyone did including Tajiri, who didn't protest this time. They all entered a room, and in the center of that room was a purple crystal, as they got closer to it started changing shape till it was flat, and changed color to black. Then on it was the picture of the world, it showed both towers on opposite sides of the planet.

"This is what our planet looks like now, the two towers and the hole that leads between them, it has always been like this" Damian said as the picture started to change, and the tower on the opposite side of the planet went up through the planet and joined with the other half, and formed into one, and the hole through the planet receded, until replacing it was a beautiful city. The city was a white as snow, and in the center was a purple tower "That is The Vale of Lilithia, and that's where out story begins, this was my home, and was also the home of Soichiro, and Ankou" at that moment the crystal enveloped the room encasing everyone in it. "You will not hear our voice but we will be telling you the story"

-A Long Time Ago-

The wind blew across the barren waste, the dead and haunted forest, where the darkness seemed to envelope all. The girl ran for her life. There were weird creatures chasing, whatever they touched turned to stone, and light fade from the world as they traveled forward. The Girl turned around to see how close they were.

"She must not worn her master, we would be in great trouble" one of the creatures, and it was echoed by the rest of them "master says we kill her, us Sentinels are one with the master and we obey him and we must not fail Ikelosmon"

The girl closed her eyes like she was trying focus on something, and an enormous explosion happened between her at the creatures that pursued, it only gave them pause for a few minutes, and because there wasn't any damage in the area of the explosion, she picked up a handful of sand as she ran forward and threw it behind, it formed into a ghost digimon, and stood there howling at those who chased her. The creatures just ran through it wasn't even there. She stopped as she had nearly ran off a cliff, The creatures now had her cornered, she looked down, before back off the cliff and falling into darkness.

-Lilithia-

The Vale of Lilithia was beautiful place, it was constructed out of white chrome digizoid, which made it look like it was made of snow its appearance was like something out of a storybook. The tower in its very center reached into the sky like a purple tentacle, it glowed with the sun's light. Its people also dressed in purple, and seemed busy with their everyday lives. It was a beautiful afternoon in the Vale of Lilithia, and everyone was happy.

"Lilithia, the most Tranquil kingdom, a land of peace and beauty, we are protected by the great old one of life, she created us, and the world" speaking was wiry man in purple robes, that were way too big for him, but he was still well muscled for someone his size, his skin was olive colored. He suddenly stopped talking when he heard someone snoring in the room. He let out a sigh and walked over to one of desks where a little child with purple goggles was sitting. A puddle of drool had started to form beside his face, despite him looking like he was reading his book. The teacher slowly picked the book up and the kid immediately slumped face first against the desk, since the book had been holding him up.

"I am awake, mommy!" The boy jumped up in a panic as he launched himself backwards into his chair, knocking it over. Embarrassed, he stood, picked up his chair, and sat back in it. He then fixed his goggles as the rest of the class laughed, or sighed.

"Sleeping again during the history of Lilithia… Just because you are son of head of the order of Nazar, doesn't mean you can slack off in my class, Ankou Soma. You better start understanding that" The Teacher said slamming the book back onto desk he had taken it from.

Gabumon, who had been also sleeping under the desk of his human partner, had been woken and was growling at the teacher, he had been getting ready to attack when Ankou had called him off with a whisper.

"I am sorry Mr. Susumu, I had a lot of chores yesterday, and I didn't get to bed till really, it's been like that all year" Ankou said pleadingly to his teacher.

Mr. Arias sighed and turned back around to continue his lesson about the History or better terms lack thereof since there was very little has happened from the founding of their great city.

Someone taped Ankou on the shoulder, and he turned to come face to face with a brown haired boy "Ankou you need to trying to lump all your chore at the end of the day, do them as soon as you get home so they are done quickly" he said sternly.

"Damien, please I try but after school I don't want to do anymore work, so I put it off then I forget about it until it gets really late" Ankou replied sighing, as he responded to the boy who had just talked to him.

Another boy laughed with silver hair. Purple framed glasses. "You will never change Ankou, your laziness is beyond anyone else in the entire vale, and I wish I could slack off like you and my grade won't falter for it" he said still laughing.

"Be quiet Soichiro, I actually do my homework unlike you" Ankou said trying not to laugh himself, they were trying to be quiet enough so Mr. Arias wouldn't scold them again for talking in class, and goofing around at the expense of the lesson.

"What was bay of Hogmon incident?" Mr. Arias said turning to face the class, "anyone know the answer to that question?"

A girl with dirty blonde hair instantly raised her hand, and said "It was when the Hogmon stampeded and ate the bay leaf crop" she said lowering when the Arias acknowledge her.

"Good Sorami Yagami, it's great that someone is actually listening to my lesson instead of talking through it like some people I won't mention that will have detention after class if they don't be quiet" Arias said glaring at Ankou, Soichiro, and Damien.

When Mr. Arias turned his back, and began giving his lesson again Sorami thumbed her nose and stuck out her tongue at Ankou, Damien and Soichiro, who mumbled something about her being a teacher's pet in response.

A few minutes later the bell rang to signify the end of class, everyone filed out promptly, and it short order the class was emptied.

Leaving class, Ankou looked up at the tower that lay in the center of Lilithia, the beautiful spire that reached into the clouds, he loved looking at it, did higher being even live in its confines like legends said. Even if there wasn't it was still a sight to behold. It was the place where his father worked as member of the order of Nazar. The citadel was also home to some of the best healers in the Vale. At that moment someone tapped on his shoulder it was Damien Star again. The best friend that often likes to lecture him about everything, he was probably going to chastise him about looking at the Citadel since it's supposed to be bad luck to look directly at as if it would cause him to spontaneously combust or something.

"Did you forget that we volunteered to pick weeds out of garden with Enna, Soichiro's little sister, she is depending on us" Damien said with arms crossed and looking rather perturbed but that was his natural expression, like an old man even for someone that was just as old as he was.

"I have siblings too I should helping out right now?" Ankou jokingly trying to weasel out of pulling weeds, knowing fully it wasn't going to work with Damien.

"Both your older brother and sister have jobs in the market place you need their help more likely" Damien said trying not to be too harsh in the way he said it.

"Ouch that hurts, that's very painful stab at me you creep!" Ankou said rubbing at his gut, like he was treating a severe wound, and pretending to be in a lot of pain. "Ok fine, but hopefully Ms. Kamiya has made cookies, a good days work makes me crave chocolate"

Soichiro was waiting for them with his sister Enna, he was admiring how his little sister garden looked so beautiful, and the vegetables looks like he could just eat them off the vine, he didn't exactly expect his friends to show up when he had asked them too, but he wished they wouldn't be so late. He blamed Ankou for his day dreaming even they weren't actually that late, since he tended to exaggerate every minute after the time he expected them it was a running gag with his friend who teased him about it.

-Tower of Lilithia-

A girl was pacing back and forth, her attire, beautiful dress that seemed to be made from purple leaves, her hair was as black as night, and there were wings protruding from her back. She looked like she had been pacing all day and would have worn a groove in the floor itself.

Another girl entered, who wore dress made from feathers that seemed to glow every time sunlight touched it, and her hair was lustrous fiery red. She walked up to the other girl "Sister our scout hasn't shown up yet, she never late, you really think our brother has freed himself from the prison we put him in?"

"I don't think so little sister, something has escaped I can feel it but it's not him it's one of his spawn, and we need to do something about it before it frees its maker" The Black Haired sister said looking downcast. Before a smile returned to her face, and she patted her little on the head. "But it's not good to panic, how can serve those we love if we are running like we no heads I'll be out in my personal garden"

"That's a good idea sis, but later I think I have something to show you that might help us out of this situation" Red haired girl said like she wanted to say more but didn't want to ruin the surprise. "I was saving it for your day of the birth, even though we don't have actual days of birth but it's still nice to celebrate human customs, right Sis?"

"You mean birthday, and yes it is since they make every year mean something, its heartwarming to see them celebrate like such" black haired girl said, looking happy yet saddened "The world is falling apart, brother's aura is corrupting the planet"

"No he won't with our help, humanity in the future if he ever escapes will defeat him with power provided to them by us" The Red haired girl said hugging her older sister.

-Soichiro's house-

Sorami Yagami had arrived to help her friend, only to spot Damien, and Ankou. Why did it have to be those two, they were a menace she know that Soichiro would be there since it was his house, she could handle that goofball but bring the three of them together and they were beyond annoying, she entered the garden it was a huge, filled with vegetables, fruits and various types of tropical flowers, Enna and Soichiro's parents ran a grocery market stale in the eastern district. She ran her left hand through blonde hair, as she fixed her bangs. That's when Enna ran out and tackled her making fixing her hair seem pointless, as she hugged Sorami.

"Can someone get water, theres a stream around the corner" Enna's mom called from the house "I need to make soup"

"I'll go" Ankou said picking up a bucket, he was doing this so he could get away from picking weeds for a bit, he felt like he was developing blisters from all the pulling. After a few minutes of walking he started hearing the sound of rushing water. He rounded a corner to see the most beautiful waterfall, in it was a reflection of the tower, its glowing presence glowing in its surface. He marveled at it for a few minutes, and then walked over to the water and dipped the bucket, but instead of water he hit something that said ouch watch. He looked down to see a girl, but not just any girl she had fox ears, she was a hybrid. He waited till she spoke again but nothing came, he panicked pulling her out of the water and unto shore. She wasn't breathing. He performed CPR, till she cough with water sputtering from her mouth. He helped her up, and she whispered for him to take her to the Citadel. For crying out loud what did he get himself into, and hopefully it wasn't something too serious, but from the way this girl looked she had been put through the ringer. With him helping her they made their way towards the great citadel.
