The room with the skylight, that looked into the starry sky, underneath was a bed, with someone laying in it, with another figure standing above it. Shadows covered up both their identities.
"Please don't fall asleep, you will never wake up" said the figure standing beside the bed, her voice cracking as she pleaded towards the person in the bed.
"I will try, but I can't make any promises" the in the bed said, her voice sounding very weak. She reached up her hand and touched the one standing beside the bed's face "I need to ask of you something, or not to do something" she pulled the one beside the bed towards her, and whispered something in her ear.
"You can't ask that of me" the leaning over the person shouted, and pulled away from the person in the bed. "I'll always help no matter what"
"I would never forgive if you don't follow my wishes on this matter, they will not know what they have done" the one in the bed said, pausing with each word, and laboring to speak "someday you will guide them" at her last word, her hand fell to the bed.
"Nooooooooo, sis wake up!" the one beside the bed shouted "Yes I promise I will do as you as please wake up now!" She leaned over and kissed the one in the bed on the forehead "I dreamed a dream of time gone by, life was high, life worth living, I dreamed that hope would never die, I dreamed that life would be forgiving. But the tigers come at night their voices soft as thunder, I had a dream that my life would be so different from this hell I am living, so different now from what you seems, life has killed a dream I dreamed" she sang towards the bed. The shadows lifted over them revealing the one standing over the bed was Lorrimon and the one in the bed was Lilithmon, Lorrimon started crying uncontrollably "This is all because you cared so much about them, I'll try to guide them I promised you that"

Ankou was still down on his knees, like a position of prostration, with Rei trying to shake him out of it while shouting his name at him to snap him back to reality of how bad their situation really was.
"Look snap out of it you fool" Rei shouted at Ankou, before kicked him in the butt, which actually snapped him out of his stupor.
"Ok sorry I lost myself there" Ankou said turning towards Rei and Kazuma, who were both giving him annoyed expressions, which almost mirror each other, it was rather creepy even though he barely knew them, but it felt like he had known them forever at this point.
"I don't think we are that far from the real monument, I know you probably know that" Rei said her sixth sense was telling her that it was very close.
"Yes it is, I can feel it, and the obelisk is made from the same material as all the buildings in in Lilithia, and it harmonically hums the same way. Just focus and you can feel it yourself it feels like a friendly singing voice all around you" Ankou said regaining his composure. "Let's find the obelisk"
After fetching some water and returning, Kiseki was tending to the injuries of Sorami, and the still unconscious Soichiro, when she noticed something weird about the ground, she pulled at it and it ripped like paper, and underneath was the congealed blood-like oil that was the substance of the sentinels. Sorami was still down cast with her back to Kiseki so she didn't notice what she did.
"I am useless I shouldn't have come, I am the digidestined of light and I am constantly being rescued from the darkness" Sorami said pulling her digivice out of her pocket and rubbed its display.
"Don't talk like that, you were meant to have that, and you have the inner light it needed so it choose you" Kiseki said getting out her digivice for a different reason. "If you want to survive you need to understand that. She turned Sorami around so she was looking her right in the eyes, she looked very intensely into them, hoping to bring back Sorami Yagami's resolve, and it wasn't working. So Kiseki raised up her right hand and slapped Sorami across the face, this was the second person she has slapped on this quest hopefully it was the last.
Sorami Yagami rubbed her cheek, the slap had knocked some sense into her "But how can you say that I have been nothing but a hindrance to this quest, it was my idea to head into the tunnels that nearly got us killed. Even when I knew those trees were dead I got too close to them" she said trying not to cry.
"Everyone makes mistakes, even the great old ones are not immune to this, you remember the story of their brother Erebosmon, and he made the mistake of trying to create life, and was punished for it. His power was not life but of chaos, looking at Ikelosmon, he still hasn't learned his lesson within his prison" Kiseki said placing her hand on Sorami's head ruffling her hair, before pulling it away "I am sorry to break this to you but I this monument isn't real, we need to get moving find the others and get to the real one before nightfall, and we are running out of time"
Sorami nodded, and stood up "I'll help you carry Soichiro, hopefully he wakes up soon" she picking up one side of the makeshift stretcher, while Kiseki picked the other side of it. "The Obelisk was this way" she gestured left.
They journeyed through landscape of the fake monument, towards the Obelisk, time was not their friend the sun was beginning its dip into the horizon, they needed to find the others and hopefully the real monument too.
Ankou closed his eyes, and felt for the sweet singing vibration that was the obelisk, he could still feel but it was getting weaker by the moment, something was wrong and their window of finding it was closing. It was Ikelosmon hiding it that was making it feel like it was weakening, he probably figured out what was going on and he was muffling in. whatever was going they had to find it soon before the vibration was completely gone, and they would never find the obelisk without it. Rei was trying to feel it too, she closed her eyes and focused on what Ankou had talked about, her hunter sense that she uses to track animals in the woods.
Rei suddenly opened her eyes "I feel it feels like a warm breeze, welcoming to follow it, and it's going in that direction it beckoning to come, begging us to hurry towards" she said to Kazuma, who just nodded in agreement. "Oh crap" she noticed that standing around them were sentinels emerging from dead trees, leaving trails of congealed blood-like oil in wake, they were out before nightfall because this forest was one big in-between "Run!" she shouted before sprinting for it, with everyone else following suit, as she guide them through the forest, dodging Sentinels as they did so. They were heading in the direction in a serpentine way to their destination, they zigzagged through evading one sentinel grasp after another, Rei grabbed hold of a tree, and used it to turn without losing momentum. Kazuma, and Damien did the same thing, and Ankou stopped and changed letting the sentinel nearly get him in the process, he dodged it and ran to catch up with Rei and Kazuma.
Sorami, Kiseki with Soichiro in stretcher, unknowing ran passed Rei, Kazuma, and Ankou, who had been shift into a realm parallel to theirs, Kiseki stopped suddenly like she felt something "I feel them, and they are head that way" she said before changing directions, Sorami didn't argue because she was on the tail end of carrying Soichiro's stretcher, how the heck did she know this, Sorami herself couldn't even see them, and Kiseki could might be some kind of spiritual training in Primary village, or something.
"Are we even close?" Damien asked, as he felt his longs would burst, if he kept this running up for too much longer.
"It should coming up very soon, but will we make is another question entirely!" Ankou replied over his shoulder to Damien. As they continued to run to hopefully the real monument was there and hopefully it was blocked in some way that made it impossible for them to get in because who knows what Ikelosmon had in place to stop them. They would all die like Liam Orion, in that cause then the world would fall into darkness. The landscape was starting to look like an impressionist painting if they dumped greasy bile on it, with all the dead tree covered in it, and the smell coming off of it was not too pleasant either.
Rei, Damien and Kazuma suddenly stopped, Ankou ran passed them and collided with something that felt like he hit a brick wall, they had reached a barrier and on the other side of it was the real monument, but they need to break through to it but how would they do this. Ankou stood and walked up to the barrier and placed his hand on it, and pulled it away the hand appearing like it had been burned. He turned to face the others with him, wondering if they knew what they were supposed to do now, they were near it.
Kiseki stopped at the wall, letting down her half of the makeshift stretcher, she then went to place her right hand on the wall but pulled it back before touching it "They are here too, this barrier prevents us from getting to the monument, and the sun will be setting in about a couple seconds, we need to get through this now" she said clasping Sorami's hands between hers "You are the digidestined of light, and this is barrier of darkness"
"Where am I?" said Soichiro coming around, and struggling to his feet,
"This is a fake monument, beyond this barrier of darkness is the real one, the only one of us. Sorami is going to break through with her digi chip of light" Said Kiseki "Sorami I believe in you, feel the power of light within, focus it on the barrier, and break it down before it's too late"
Sorami Yagami and her digimon partner Gatomon, stepped towards the barrier, she tried to focus but nothing happened, the sun was now vanishing into the horizon, and sentinels would be appearing all around them, she turned to face Kiseki, hoping that she would know what to do.
"It's your inner let it surge within you, lead it, guide it, be patience with it, it's the first, and one of the most powerful of the virtues" said Kiseki pulling out her own digi vice and chip "I'll hold them off as long as I can" she turned to face the now appearing Sentinels, their gross form surging towards them.
Sorami stood there horror struck as she watched Kiseki and her digimon partner Falcomon fight the incoming sentinels, before turning back towards the barrier in front of her, she closed her eyes and tried harder to focus, her eyes shot open, and they were filled with light. "Digi synconisation, Light chip activate" she said before, both her and Gatomon were encased in spheres of light. And when the spheres dissipated she was with an angel woman digimon Angewomon, who flew into the air pulled out a bow, an arrow of light filled it, she fired the arrow into the barrier and it shattered a hole to the monument.
Standing in front of the hole was Ankou, Rei, Damien, and Kazuma, they ran through the hole, followed by Kiseki and Soichiro. Angewomon picked up a Sorami that look like rather dizzy and carried her through the hole. They turned to see the Sentinels howl with rage, and then vanish turning back into liquid.
Sorami felt weakened but she managed to not faint, she had to tell the other what happened, and what was shown to her when they had digivolved "I saw a glimpse of the future, or something it showed me Lilithia smothered by darkness, a strange girl stood in the center of it, it wasn't any of us, she wore strange attire" she said shaking from tiredness. "Maybe it's a warning of what happens if we fail here?"
"That is weird!" Kiseki said before turning to Soichiro "did anything happen like that to you when you used your powers?"
"Not at all" said Soichiro still trying to shake the cobwebs out of his head, he still felt disconcerted from using his digi chip. It had been nothing like he had ever felt before, and would actually like to feel it again.
After they composed themselves, with only Kiseki and Sorami staying behind, Kiseki went to fetch water again, Ankou lead the way towards the obelisk, he was yearning to see Lilithmon again after all they had gone through to get there, they all stood in stood in front of the obelisk, and nothing happened.
"This is weird, why hasn't this thing activate like it did with the others and its vibration are next to nothing" Ankou said looking rather confused about what was going on. Then the light surged from the obelisk but instead of Lilithmon it was Lorrimon standing in the white room.
"My sister has gotten sick, she is now sleeping to recover" Lorrimon looking downcast so she didn't have to look them all in the eyes "Before she went to bed she asked me to give this to you, this is a digital core of power" an orb of light appeared in her hand, it was beautiful, she handed it to Ankou "This will help you defeat Ikelosmon, you'll know when it's time to use it" the white room vanished leaving them in front of the monument.
The glowing orb still in Ankou's hand, marveled at it, it was breathtaking and it was going to be their light at the end of this nightmare tunnel. He turned to face everyone else "Rei you said it wasn't that far from here, in the morning I think we should attack head on!" he said raising the orb into the air in triumph.
"We should head back and rest up as soon as possible" Damien said, before yawning hoping for once they would get some sleep this time.
Heading back to the others to show them the orb of light, the others looked at it with awe, as they passed it around carefully, then they set up camp for the night hoping that this would be their last day in this waste land this grey skied nightmare.
Looking up into the sky Ankou thought about Lilithmon, and if she was ok "I hope she would recover soon" he said to himself out loud.
"I hope so too" Kiseki said, she too was looking at the sky. "she gave us such powers, and helped us so much, I want to see her to thank, making new friends was well worth all this, you might not see it that way but I do I love each of you"
"I invite the rest of you to come and visit my home of Lilithia, we can all celebrate their, and I can show you Enna's garden" Sorami said a big smile creasing her face "we can be best friends?"
"That would be great I'll look forward to that, and yes we can all be best friends" Said a smiling Kiseki, raising her hand in the air in a sleep woohoo.
Damien thought to himself will all of them survive this, if they did he considered after getting home he would leave again, travel and see the world, and the sites they most likely be more exciting than this, he wanted to see more of primary village, and it was his childhood dream to see Digitopia. Maybe even DarkHaven. Maybe he could convince his friends to come with him. They were his fellow digidestined and all maybe they would go on more adventures. He looked up at the stars and wondered about the different sights he would see in his future.
At daybreak everyone was up and packing their stuff away, Rei was rechecking her map, and her brother was checking it with silently. It was a few hours before they headed out again, they followed Rei, who know where she was going, with her leading the way they avoided any in-betweens.
"When we get there wouldn't we have to wait till night fall to confront Ikelosmon, and also deal with his sentinels?" Damian asked wondering about that, and everything.
"I guess that the case, he's not going to come and fight us during the day" Rei answered Damien's question "It would be stupid to think otherwise" her being as blunt as ever, which was like a slap to Damien's face but he ignored it.
"He'll be ready for us" Kiseki said "Are we ready for him and anything he can dish out?"
"I think so" Soichiro said balling his left hand into a fist "We better be"
"Yep" said Kazuma nodding in Agreement, and didn't respond at all more than that, as usual a guy of few words.
They were now walking passed a row of rock pillars that looked like teeth, none of them had shadows that intersected with their path so there was nothing to worry, and the ground was now becoming a thick layers of sand, which managed to start getting into places none of them knew they had making walking uncomfortable. And it slowed them down quite a bit, as they slouched through it. After a few hours of this they finally reached the location of Ikelosmon's base, which was a graveyard of all things, one that hadn't been taken care of in several years, everything was covered in dust, and spider webs. They waited there among the tomb stones till night came once again.
The congealed oil ooze started to come forth from all the graves, and went into the sky form Ikelosmon, he grimed at them "Hey you guys made it, this is going to be fun" he said as spread his massive scaled wings.
Both Sorami and Soichiro activated their digi chips, digivolving their partners to Angemon and Angewomon, who charged at Ikelosmon, his tailed them away, Angewomon launched herself into the air firing a volley of light arrows at Ikelosmon. He deflected them with no effort, and sends balls of acid in return making both digimon have to dodge, the acid hit tombstone instead melting it completely. Angemon creates a tornado of light and sends it towards Ikelosmon, with him blowing it away with the flap of his wings.
"I can only hold back my sentinels for so long, before they get hungry and then I will have to let them make you one of them" Ikelosmon said with ravenous pleasure in his tone like he could do that at any moment. And with the flap of his wings Angemon was knocked back digivolving back into Patamon and landing on the ground severally hurt.
Sorami Yagami concentrated on giving her inner light to Angewomon, which energized her digimon, who sends a beam of radiant light towards Ikelosmon, which managed to connect this time but with very little effect, it was like trying to tear apart a wall with a spoon with zero damage to show for it.
"It is time" a voice said from Ankou pocket, and then the orb shot from his pocket and into the air, it lit up the sky and ripping the darkness showing them for once the beautiful nights, taking away the grey sky that has been haunting them since they got there, the orb rained down beams of light that hit both digimon and their digidestined, digivolved his digimon to mega along with Sorami and Soichiro's digimon partners. They were now Seraphimon, Ophanimon, and MetalGarurumon. Each had their human partner on their shoulder on standing on their back.
"Why weren't our partners been digivolved like that" Rei asked confused by what had just happened.
"It's because we aren't ready yet, but we will be once we find our way" Kazuma said, breaking from his short answers for everything, this caused everyone to stare at him with shocked expressions.
"Whatever, You Guys Go kick Ikelosmon's butt!" Rei shouted, then joined by everyone else saying the same thing to Soichiro, Ankou, and Sorami.
MetalGarurumon was the first to attack Ikelosmon, he launched missiles from his back, each locking on Ikelosmon, who flew to evade them, but they still made impact, his wings were momentarily frozen, he flapped and the ice shattered off. But it hurt him a lot, Ophanimon forms a javelin in her hand, and a beam of light shoots from it, hitting Ikelosmon head on driving him backwards, he howled in rage and pain before vanishing then appearing again, his form seemed a little melted when he reformed. MetalGarurumon launches more freezing missiles which this time was easily dodged by Ikelosmon, and laughs doing so.
Seraphimon with orbs forming above, watched the action above, the unrelenting assault on Ikelosmon by Ophanimon, and MetalGarurumon, either firing missiles at it or beams of light, once the last orb formed, he launched them all at Ikelosmon, the first couple hit him directly, causing him to vanish again, like he melted then reformed. While the other two continued attack, he formed the orbs again, and used them once again, this time they were easily dodged.
Ankou looked down to see the rest of the digidestined, were fighting for their lives, Sentinels were coming out of the woodwork, and more were coming by the second, he made MetalGarurumon break from the fight momentarily to fire missiles at the sentinels, this left him open, and Ikelosmon used this to slam MetalGarurumon into the ground. But Ikelosmon also suffered for this getting hit by ten crystals, with a few slicing into his back.
"Backstabber!" Ikelosmon growled, turning his attention to Sorami Yagami, and Ophanimon, all the sentinels on the ground flew into the air, and formed into what appeared to be a Half skeleton man with mismatched pieces of leg armor, and one arm way bigger than the other. It then caused weird storm to form above itself and Ophanimon, the Skeleton man reached into the storm. It then reaches into it and punches Ophanimon knocking her forward, the storm moves in front of her and Ophanimon gets punched in the face.
Damien cringed from seeing Ophanimon knocked around like that, clutched his digivice in between his hands, he had to do something, suddenly the orb that let his friends digivolve their partners to mega landed in front of him, it sparked slightly. His digimon partner poked at it with unease.
"Say Hello to my chaos shadow, it's not quite a demon lord but it's almost as power" Ikelosmon said rictus grin on his face. "Say Hello to Chaos Shadow form of Bagramon"
That name caused hit the digidestined like they all had been slapped in the face, all the stories they had been told as children to scare them into behaving came, Bagramon in myth was sort of like the boogeyman, who came out and devoured mischievous children who got lost in the wood. Now one was standing in front of them all.
"Everyone that's not the real thing!" Ankou shouted to everyone, from the back "We are digidestined and we should not be afraid of shadows of things that don't exist!"
"Yeah let's kick its butt!" Soichiro shouted back, with Seraphimon calling forth a powerful bolt of lightning, which lanced through Bagramon, this attack was joined by those of Ophanimon and MetalGarurumon, the shadow form fell apart with the sentinels that made it falling to the ground.
"Very cleaver little children, but you won't be able to do that to me, can you!" Ikelosmon snorted with all his bravado.
"You really like the sound of your own voice" Sorami Yagami said with annoyance in her tone "We are going to make you shut up"
Ankou and Soichiro looked at each other and nodded in agree without saying a word, Soichiro flew over to Sorami. "Remember the time, me and Ankou taught that bully a lesson that for picking on Damien" he said nodding in the direction of Damien down below. "Do you remember that" and then shouted down towards him "Do you remember that"
Damien nodded in response and picked something up from the ground, and looked like they were getting somewhere safe with his digimon partner Veemon.
MetalGarurumon charged forward, sending a volley of missiles toward Ikelosmon, who immediately dodge. But right into an attack of Seraphimon, lightning bolts lanced into Ikelosmon causing him to scream out. The missiles that missed arced towards Ikelosmon slamming into him, causing him to fall from the sky where he was met with an X shaped blast fired from an Exveemon, Damien had used the sphere to digivolve his digimon partner to champion. Crystal shards slammed into Ikelosmon's back. He turned to face Ophanimon. A blade appeared on Seraphimon's arm, he charged at Ikelosmon, who turned and tried but was too late, he was sliced in half.
"Curse you, I'll be back, and I will haunt you all in your nightmares!" Ikelosmon screamed as he was vaporized "Once my father rises"
"In your face!" Sorami shouted, at the dissolving Ikelosmon, as Ankou, and Soichiro landed and fist bumped below.
"I could have done better" Rei said smiling "Except you did very well without me, I have the next one" with Kazuma nodding in agreement beside her.
"If there ever is a next one, which I hope there isn't" Sorami said looking at Damien, Ankou, and Soichiro, who were nodding in agreement with her. "We now want to go home, at least after we see this Oasis.
"Wait a minute, if we defeated Ikelosmon, why is it still shrouded here, shouldn't it have gone away when he died?" Damien asked looking up at the sky.
"Maybe it take time for this place to heal" Ankou answered Damien "Let head out of this place, maybe theres a mirror at the oasis, we can use to get home after we get there"
They didn't travel that far before they hit the oasis, it was the most breathtaking place they had ever been, except for Ankou, who had seen Lilithmon's garden, which to him was more beautiful since Lilithmon had been there, but it had the biggest waterfall he had ever seen, the sun hitting it caused a rainbow effect, other than that was a whole assortment of flowers that put Enna's garden to shame. Sorami picked some of them the ones she knew Enna would love. After spending hours in the oasis they decided even though this place wonderful beyond belief they were homesick and wanted to return to their respective homes, so they headed towards the mirror, where it would send them home, Even though Rei, Kazuma, and Kiseki were coming to Lilithia with Sorami, Ankou, Damian since none of them had ever been there. Sorami Yagami agreed to show them around when they got there, she was happy to do it.
"Hello digidestined, I welcome you to Oasis of Kaze" said skimpily dressed in purple girl with wings, and metal visor covering her eyes "I am Kazemon, the steward hybrid digimon. My name originally was Kaze Mitsurugi, I was told by Lorrimon that you were coming. I am sad to tell you all that the mirror here or any other mirror will of use to you to get home as Great old one Lilithmon is still out of commission"
"Tell her to get butt back in commission, we want to go home" Soichiro said through gritted teeth, as he seemed like he was trying to glare a hole in Kazemon.
"How dare you talk like that about Lilithmon, she is out of commission because of you, she helped you with a lot of her powers, and she fell ill" Kazemon shouted incredulously at Soichiro. Her face reddening with anger from his impertinence.
"How can a great and powerful deity become ill, is she or is she not a great old one for crying out loud, I can't believe we got stranded out here after dealing with her dirty work that she should have done herself"
"You impertinent little child, you should be grateful to be a chosen, I would have given my life if Lilithmon had just asked me" Kazemon shouted at Soichiro. "But she had enough confidence to ask you"
"Stop it Soichiro, please! Angering a steward hybrid isn't getting us home any faster, I know your frustration, we all want to go home" Ankou said placing his left hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Please calm down" Kiseki said, acting like she just remembered something "Lorrimon said there are portals that she controls but nearest one is in Primary village"
"I am not going back through the tainted lands, we will have to go around" Soichiro sighed, he anger fading but he was still frustrated, but with himself, he felt shouldn't have agreed to this and it was his fault for not going with that feeling. He could have relinquished the digi chip and let it go to someone else.
"I am sorry for being the bearer of bad news, but I can give a little assistance, at least enough to take miles off your journey" Kazemon said as large kites appeared "I'll empower these with my wind, they will carry you to where your journey home will begin" she gestured and each digidestined got on one kite, and they lifted into the air, carrying them into the horizon, and whatever lay ahead of them.
-Present day-
Everything suddenly went black, and voice of present day Damien was the only sound heard, "They had more adventures as they traveled home and vanquished more evil, human and otherwise, but those stories are not important and would far too long to tell, you don't have enough time to spare to hear them. Now let's skip ahead several months" now the picture of the outskirts of Lilithia came into view.
-The Past-
After a long they had finally reached, each in turn appearing on the road to Lilithia, with the last one being Kiseki.
Ankou turned to Kiseki "I can't believe they made a statue to you" He said as a friendly jab to annoy her.
"I can't believe it either that was so embarrassing I wish they didn't" Kiseki said with her face flashing scarlet "Our Journey is at an end, but I wouldn't have given up any of those memories I am glad we didn't just came home right away"
"We did some good" Soichiro said "Now we are heroes" he pumped his fist into the air in triumph like a conquering hero he was.
"You guys got us into more trouble than we should have been in, why did you have to low blow that digimon when we just asked for directions" Rei said, with her looking at Sorami and her shrugging in response "I would have expected that from Ankou, Soichiro, and Kiseki" she chuckled.
"We better be heading in, Enna must be worried about us, especially her brother Soichiro" said Damien before taking the air of his home and enjoying, he could smell all the flowers from here.
But as soon as they entered Lilithia, the feeling of wrongness settle over them, the usual harmony of the vibrations was now like the city itself was crying, something was definitely wrong. Enna met them halfway to her garden, she was happy like nothing was wrong, she tackled her brother.
"You're Home! You're Home! I am happy to see you all" Enna hugged them all including the new comers that she had never met, who introduced themselves when they were hugged. This eased there wariness. That's when they noticed the tower had taken flight and hovered over the city.
"What the hell!" Soichiro shouted, when he saw it, and pinched himself to see if he was really seeing this, and the pain shooting through his face showed he was.
"Yeah you're not seeing things because I am seeing it too" Sorami said trying to keep calm, when every part of her wanted to scream.
"The tower is not supposed to be like that isn't it?" Rei asked, looking up into the distance to where the tower was now "I heard stories of how old the citadel was but none of them said it could fly like that"
That's when Lilithmon's voice sounded from all around them "come to the citadel I need your help with something" she said apathetic tone of voice, "Come to the mirror, and come to me"
Ankou was the first to run back to the mirror, they all had come from, followed by the rest of the digidestined, while Enna headed back to her garden. They reached the mirror, and it opened they saw Lilithmon on the other side waiting for them. Without hesitation they entered one at a time, and came face to face with a Lilithmon they had never seen before, her attire seemed to have rotted, And the leaves that were once a vibrant green were now black like soot, the purple in it were darker than it usually was. Her expression lacked any emotion what so ever, it pained them all to see her like this.
"Are you ok?" Ankou asked, he had not expected this at all.
Lilithmon nodded "I am fine" she said in the said tone as when she summoned them "Come with me" she started forward towards a flight of stairs down, and they followed her, the stair lead to a room with several tunnels "This is the D-labyrinth" she walked towards a wall, placed her left hand on it, it opened into another tunnel" This is the one way to go without getting lost in this, the other tunnels always change, since it's a living labyrinth" she entered the tunnel, she had opened, with the digidestined following in toe, they were wary of their surroundings it felt like the labyrinth would swallow them all whole if they were careful but Lilithmon wasn't concerned at all. It felt like it would go on forever until they had finally reached a room, and on the far end of that was one intricately decorated door, surrounded by a couple stone tablets.
"This is the door of finale, all spirits of the dead waiting to be reborn are here, someday even you will end up in there" Lilithmon said "This door has many names throughout myth, but it is real" she walked away from them and towards the door before turning around to face them.
"Why did you bring us here?" Soichiro said stepping forward.
"It's time for everything to end, and start over again, humanity has not improved, the world is rotting in its current state" Lilithmon said clapping her hands together "I have enough power to start the process I need your help to complete it, place your digi chips on the annulment stones"
Kiseki looked over at Lilithmon, and walked over hesitantly and placed her chip on the stone closer to the door "there has to be some other way?" When she placed it there the door opened.
Lilithmon walked towards the door, the whole room became a vast field of flowers, which then changed into a wasteland, she reached the door, and placed her hand through it, the citadel shook, and the sounds of screaming came from around them. "The Citadel has separated into two, now the rest of you it's your turn"
Ankou walked over hesitated, and did the same as Kiseki, and they felt as the citadel plunged through the planet, it consumed Lilithia completely before it did so, and did the same the Oasis as it came through the other side of the planet.
Soichiro watched this, his digichip clinched in his fist, blood dripping from his hand as the chip had cut from being held so tightly. "After all we did for you, we saved humanity, now you want us to end it, and I rather end you!" he charged at Lilithmon, with digimon partner and himself enveloped in glowing spheres. But before they got near her Ankou stepped in his path with MetalGarurumon.
"There must be something else we can do, we can't kill Lilithmon" Ankou shouted making himself a human shield for Lilithmon. While MetalGarurumon aimed missiles at Seraphimon. That's when crystal shards stabbed themselves into MetalGarurumon causing him to howl in pain.
Lilithmon pulled her hand from the door, and turned to face Soichiro, and Sorami Yagami, who was joined by Rei and Kazuma. Damien didn't move he didn't know what to do. Neither did Kiseki, she watched in horror of the events unfolding in front of her. "Empress Emblaze!" she said sending a hand shaped monster thing towards them all, and Kazuma's Gryphonmon took the hit directly, and it gravely injured him.
"You can't do this, we don't have to kill her" Ankou shouted, his face a mask of pain, he forced himself to remain standing. He received a backhand across the face for his troubles "Why don't you want to listen to me, aren't we friends"
"She stepped over the line, she is no great old one, just a digimon that wants to kill us all, why should I spare her" Soichiro said slamming his clinched fist into Ankou's gut, knocking the wind out of his former friend's lungs. Then he was picked up by Seraphimon, and then they charged, she sent more attacks to defend herself but they were weak since she hadn't recovered enough from the coma she had awakened from. A blade extended from Seraphimon's wrist, and it connected with Lilithmon's side causing her collapse into a heap, as Ankou screamed no, and ran towards her as she fell, the door slammed shut as her face came crashing to the floor. The room changed back into the room with the annulment stones
"This is wrong, this shouldn't have happened" Kiseki said placing her hand on the wall, and it opened revealing the sky, she looked at everyone her face drenched in tears, she jumped out the door she just opened plummeting to her death.
"You no longer deserve that digi chip" Soichiro picking up Ankou's chip, and throws it to the ground "you are a traitor and I'll make sure everyone knows that, if I ever see your face again I'll kill you where you stand" he turned to Damien, Rei, Kazuma, and Sorami, and he left followed shortly by them, leaving Ankou alone with a dying Lilithmon, one of her hands clasped between both of his. "We will hunt down anyone that worships to false old one"
"Before I die take my animus, it's my life's core!" Lilithmon said struggling with each word, a glowing orb that look similar to the one they had used to be able to defeat Ikelosmon, and Ankou took it cradling it carefully it his hands. "I'll return, please continue and finish before then" she then vaporized into glowering specks, and flew into the sky leaving a now crying Ankou hugging the animus with it going inside of him.
"I vow to never speak again until Lilithmon is returned to me, my one and only true love" Ankou shouted towards the ceiling. Get got up and was shambled towards the rooms entrance. When a mirror portal appeared but it only lead him to primary village, he traveled from there to Lilithia and it took him several months, when he finally reach there it was too late, He still remembered it like it was yesterday, though it was countless moons ago, after Lilithmon his true love was defeated, he smiled a bitter smile thinking of the time before that. But now Soichiro had massacred everyone in the other half of the citadel. He picked up one of the Nazar order masks, it had three streaks of blood on it which had dried to black, and he put it on. He would take the remnants of the order and take them underground, he would make sure Lilithmon's dying wish would be fulfilled. We will forever be her followers of light and the darkness, may her cleansing flame purify this world.
