It was a forest deep with mist and deformed trees, a child with blue hair ran through, "Juniko" where are you" the boy called out.
"Takajin!" a girl's voice called back.
Takajin reached for where Juniko's face came from, and he gasped air, and woke up in bed calling out Juniko's name. The fog of his mind cleared remembering, that had to be such a weird dream, but why was he having such a dream now. Him as a child looking for his former childhood best friend, who is now Lilithmon. It was day three at the Archive Pyramid, they had learned a lot about the past. He got up got dressed and headed down for breakfast, the others were already up and waiting for him.
"How's you and your partners arms" Takajin asked Mikuni, who had her arm in a very fancy tech splint, he knew that injury had shattered her confidence, she hasn't pulled the champion of justice with the same conviction that was her usual. "We need you as a weapon of justice again"
"Don't ask" she said turning her back to Takajin "It's none of your business" she then walked away from.
"I am guess not very well? You don't have to be so rude about it!" Takajin called after her.
"You had a bad dream brother, I heard you calling out for Juniko?" Hikaru said running up to her brother's side.
"Why would I call out her name? She is dead" Takajin said trying not to cry "She died in that citadel, and became her that thing we might have destroy to save this world"
"How can you say that about her, she was our childhood friend?" Hikaru shouted at Takajin "She loves you!"
"That thing isn't my friend anymore, did you see what she did to our home, she had a lot of people killed, and she did right in front of me. Of course you didn't see it! You weren't there!" Takajin clutched his left hand into a fist, and slammed into a wall bruising his knuckles in the process. "It's in the archive, look for yourself!" he tossed his sister a template, showing everything that happened during the champion tournament.
"This is not possible" Hikaru said as she started to cry. From the horror she was beholding. "This can't be Juniko!" She threw the template to the side, and shattered as it hit the ground, then reformed into the template again.
"I don't care what that thing shows, or what she has done, I'll will not let anyone hurt her, and she gave me hope. I have very little to hope about and she is one of them" Huang said interrupting the conversation between Takajin and Hikaru.
"She is not Juniko! She is now the being that was responsible for the Kurokami brigade massacring Logonia, which included both your parents! How can you say you will protect her?" Takajin asked in frustration.
"I don't know" Huang replied "The question should be how you can give up on her so easily?"
Digimon Sync Episode 46 "The Unfriendly Storm of Friendship"
The rest of the day was awkward silence, as no one would talk to each other for one reason or another, either from anger at someone or being scared to say something. And getting yelled at in the process, or frustration because no one was talked, which went on for hours, and now it was lunch time and no one was still talking.
Virgil coughed into his hand as a way to get everyone's attention "You are the digidestined, you are a team? Now talk already!" He said in a shouting yet calm tone of voice.
"Yes I am conflicted about this, I don't know if she is still my friend! But all she seems to me with all her actions that she isn't! I don't want to talk about it anymore, please let me think" Takajin shouted in frustration since his companions wouldn't let this go. He ran off before any of the others could continue to badger him on the matter.
"Be of the careful it's too easy to get of the lost in the archive!" Thania called after Takajin as he ran off.
Hikaru went to run after him, but was stopped by Virgil "It's his right to choose what to do, we need to let him be so he chooses what he knows is right" he said to Hikaru.
"You knew Damien, did you know who he really was?" Hikaru asked to take her mind off her brother and everything to do with Lilithmon.
"No I didn't, until he took me aside and told me right before he went on his last pilgrimage" Virgil answered trying not to look downcast, as he missed his former mentor.
"I am sorry for asking" Hikaru said realizing she had brought up something painful to Virgil "You don't have to talk about this if you don't want to"
"It's OK, I want to talk about this, and he was like a father to me, even if I never knew who my real family was, in a way the whole order was like family to me I'll miss them all" Virgil said maintaining his composure.
"My brief time with the INFINITAS Sages, they became like family to me too, they were like aunts and uncles to me, but they aren't truly gone, as they will always be in my heart and memory" Hikaru said trying to comfort Virgil "We need to talk about those memories fondly because that what they would have wanted?"
"You are right, I shouldn't be down about this, and I should look back at my time with them positively, and not dwell on their deaths because they had lived long lives" Virgil said with a smile. Before beginning a story about one of times he had gotten in trouble for a prank he played as a child to one of his fellow sages. They both laugh when he finished telling the story.
"I have another questions, when I asked Damien if Lilithia and Lilithmon were the same being, he told me absolutely no, but that whole from the past we were showed made him seem like a liar? I am very confused now!" Hikaru asked trying to make sense of what she was saying.
"In a way she isn't the same, it was like the real one died that day and the one they faced was a shadow of the Lilithmon they knew" Virgil answered "But one way or another she needs to be stopped before she destroys existence as we know it"
"So defeating her again might be unavoidable" Hikaru said looking downcast at the thought of killing her friend. She watched as Huang ran after Takajin, hopefully they don't get into their usual fight, about what is needed to be done. "But I think are in worse off shape than the legendary digidestined, as a team we are not as cohesive"
"But you still have potential, most of you have reach your megas, and that was without anyone's help, the legendary digidestined needed help to do that, I am sure you guys will fulfill whatever your destiny you have ahead of you" Virgil said reassuring Hikaru. "I am sure the future Tajiri Kamiya saw, isn't the one that's going to happen!"
"But he said there wasn't going to be a future, that everything was a void, I wouldn't want that future to be true that all life ends! That all we have went through was for nothing I don't want that to be" Hikaru said feeling a chill run through her entire body.
"It won't I believe in you guys, and I'll help you be able to prevent that future from happening" Virgil said crossing his arms, and looking very stern. "My mentor brought you guys to me for a reason, and that is it"
"Thank you for whatever help you can give us" Hikaru said with a smile returning to her face, and her hope slightly renewed.
"Listen to me my partner knows what he is talking about, Damien taught him well!" said Starmon, Virgil's digimon partner.
Takajin had kept running till he couldn't hear the sound of his companions, he didn't know when he had swapped positions with Huang on matters, but it didn't matter, he was going to head home and get those Kurokami Brigadiers out of his kingdom no matter what it takes even if his friend would be a casualty. "I'll save my family" he said to himself!"
"I am sorry but I know what you are going through" Huang said as he caught up with Takajin "Like you said the Kurokami Brigade murdered, but one of them saved my brothers"
"But Scythe left the Kurokami Brigade because she didn't like what was going on" Huang said as a counter argument. "Then there was Shiru, who stepped in when he thought even his brigade was over doing things"
"But she is only one of them, and he is dead for his troubles, killed by the people you are trying to defend" Takajin nearly breaking into a shout, but calming himself against doing, knowing they were only trying to help him. That's when something caught his eye, and that's when he saw him, he turned to see Ankou rounding a corner, his mask with the three blackened blood streaks on it, him and Ankou stood still. Takajin glared at him as his partner Coronamon stepped out from where he was hiding. That's when Migoku, and Ankou rounded the same corner, Migoku was recognizable by his eye patch, and putt off expression. Looking at Migoku he know what question he was fighting to not ask because of Ankou's presence beside him.
Ankou stepped forward ignoring the expressions that were being given to him "You were shown my past, now what path will, you take now?" he said, without moving an inch.
"How did you get in here, without anyone noticing it?" Takajin said through clinched teeth, fighting every urge to lash out as him and knowing his digimon partner was just waiting for his order for once.
"The Mirrors, I used one of Lilithmon's portals, there is one even in here" Ankou said crossing his arms "I came here hoping you would be convinced humanity is not worth saving, and you would come with me to help my beloved bring everything to an end" his tone seething with nihilism "We will be doing humanity a favor by stopping their miserable lives"
"You keep talking like that, and you say they are not worth saving? What makes you a judge of what people deserve?" Takajin finally shouted at Ankou, he had lost his cool and was moments from having Coronamon attack him.
"After the incident that took my love from me, I traveled collecting those who still worshipped her, and saw the world was being tainted, and was rotting to the core, and came to realize this life is an abomination that needs a restart" Ankou said "Do I know or care how that takes place"
"We are of not going to join the likes of the people likes of you!" Thania shouted as she and her digimon partner Biyomon joined the confrontation between her companions "We are of the digidestined, we are not of destruction, and we are of life and protecting of the life! Now make of the leaving!"
There was several awkward moments of silence as Ankou now faced Thania, everything now looked like it was at a standstill, with no one moving or even making a sound, he was about to break the awkward silence when Takajin interrupted him "Either leave or fight us, You will not convince us to join you, and help your path to world destruction!" Takajin said pulling out his digivice.
"I know I have failed to convert you all to my ways, but I am not done! But before I leave I am going to warn you that that you don't not know what is coming, the storm is on its way here, I'll talk to you as soon as I know you have survived it" Ankou said before turning into a mirror, and vanishing. Leaving Migoku behind.
"Where is she?" Migoku said looking around like he was looking for someone before saying "Sorami the person who took the use of my eye…" that was when he was interrupted by an explosion that rocked the entire with all of them nearly getting knocked off their feet. The digidestined ignored Migoku and ran through the corridors until they met with the others at the entrance. Now noticing that Migoku had followed them there. Above the pyramid was the symbol of the digi chip of friendship, its lightning bolts striking the ground underneath it. The symbol descended, destroying trees as it did so, appearing in the center of the symbol of friendship, was two people, one was a girl with platinum hair in a grey attire in a white cloak, and a woman with electric Violet hair, in a purple gown coursing with electricity.
"Is that Sorami and her digimon partner?" Hikaru asked out loud to herself
"Whoever is it is not very happy about something" Takajin answered instinctively to his sister.
They went with caution to where the girl that could be possibly be Sorami came down, the closer they got the more sure they were it was her. But still confused at what was going.
"Sorami!" Takajin called out to her
Sorami turned to face them, and she suddenly started screaming at them in nonsensically, and runs up and punches Takajin in the face, knocking him on his back, she went for him again, but Takajin got out of the way "Traitors! I'll show you the power of Fulgoramon, The Embodiment of Lightning!" she finally shouted clearly.
"What are you talking, we are traitors to whom?" Hikaru asked confused about what was going, but instead of an answer she had to dodge an electrical blast from Fulgoramon, and then had to dodge another one
"Everyone on this planet!" Sorami said before returning to nonsensical screaming, and taking Huang off his feet, he was then rescued by Biyomon, before Sorami could land another blow. But took a few volts to the back by Fulgoramon.
Mikuni didn't get involved, instead she held her digimon, keeping him from getting involved either, and she didn't want him to get hurt, she had lost her champion of justice willingness to jump into battles.
"I am not fighting you! So please can you stop?" Hikaru shouted at Sorami, but had to dodge another lightning bolt for her troubles. "Please!" she was now screaming at Sorami, who just ignored her and screamed the word traitor at everyone. It was like she couldn't any of them, and nothing they said could reach her. What had happened to her to make her think they were traitors, and how were they going to be able to stop her?
Takajin stood up pulling out his digivice, and despite the shouts of protest from his sister, begging him not to hurt her "I saw this coming but hope it never would have to come to this" he slide is digi chip into his digivice "Digi synchronization, Hope chip activation!" he shouted, him and his digimon partner enveloped in glowing spheres. When those sphere dissipated, and dust cleared, Takajin was now with Apollomon, it was now a battle of Lightning versus Fire.
The first one to attack was Fulgoramon, She produced two Chakrams of lightning, she threw them at Apollomon, who dodged them both, but hit in the back with one of them, while the other sliced across his shoulder leaving the area they hit tingling with pain, and numbness. The electricity was infused into both wounds that stayed. Takajin paying attention to only his digimon partner wasn't paying attention to Sorami herself, that's when something hit him, and that part of his body went complete numb. There was a deep cut on his shoulder, and there was electricity coursing through it, he winched in pain as he looked over to see Sorami carrying two of her own Lightning Chakrams. He put his left hand over the wound on his shoulder, it still hurt really badly, even though the electricity had cauterized it. Sorami sent flying both her chakrams at Takajin, with him barely dodging them and again on their return trip to Sorami, they just grazed his shoulder, but didn't break skin this time, slicing through his clothing.
Huang watched from a distance, knowing he couldn't get involved even if he wanted to, without his digi chip he was useless, he might as well not be here, and he actually doubt he was a digidestined, everything looked painful to him. Seeing Takajin and Apollomon get hit by those chakrams made him cringe, knowing fully well if Takajin couldn't stop Sorami, she was going to kill them all, brutally and without mercy.
Apollomon recovered, and fired a volley of fire arrows at Fulgoramon, but it hit something made of a sound force of an unknown kind possibly thunder, which was shaped like a shield with the symbol of friendship on it, Electric pulses in the same shape as Apollomon's attack surged out from the shield and blasted him backwards. This knocked Takajin off his feet too, they both mirror each other's pain, and showed identical wounds.
"Please stop this!" Hikaru shouted hoping to get through to Sorami "We are not traitors!"
Sorami just ignored Hikaru, and screamed again as she threw her chakrams at Takajin again with him once again dodging them, she and her partner even though not in faculty were still acting like a cohesive unit. Every time they got a hit on either Takajin or Apollomon, it would mean the same injury for one or the other. Meaning they would have to go on the offensive very soon before they were killed without even getting on hit on either Fulgoramon or Sorami.
Sorami caught her chakrams, and then threw them once again, taking down a tree instead of Takajin as he had gotten out of the way of them once again but was getting slower as he was starting to feel tired, either from the wounds or from constantly dodging the attacks from Sorami. He wondered to himself why didn't he have weapons similar to his digimon partner like Sorami had with hers, it must have been all her training from a young unlike her he hadn't gotten any until he became a digidestined.
"We need to get involved!" Lopmon shouted, as he continued to struggle to get away from Mikuni with his good arm, even though she also had a broken, he couldn't break free. "You call yourself a champion of justice!"
Hikaru turned to Virgil, "is this a corrupt Digivolution?" she asked him, thinking about fake digi chips that Donica's people had been handing out. Like the incident with Huang at Primary village.
Virgil shook his head "I have read descriptions of that incident, and this is not that, She is not in her right mind but not in the same way as that, this is her digimon partners pure mega form, and doesn't look good for your brother, she and her digimon partner are in prefect sync hence the shared weaponry "
Fulgoramon extended her arms into the air, in a forming a y shape, and her Chakram began to multiply till there were 37 of them, some of them had names on them and most of them just numbers, the something was happening with Sorami, all the chakrams, aimed at their perspective targets. All the ones aimed at Apollomon, causing Takajin to scream in pain as the ones aimed streaked towards him, and Apollomon dedigivolved to his rookie form of Coronamon, before they could impact, they both vanished. And then appeared at the entrance to the archive, in the arms of Kitsumon.
"Are you children stupid get inside and let's move this place!" Kitsumon shouted at them, she lightly tossed Takajin and Coronamon inside the archive. And then gestured for everyone else to get in too, with haste everyone did what they were told, they found Migoku was gone, maybe he left after he saw Fulgoramon and didn't want to deal with that but none of them actually care. Virgil hit a button and pyramids front door shut, and the whole structure began to shutter, and phase. When the process stopped the front door opened and they were now looking into a forest, it was the wild woods the home of Kitsumon.
"What are we doing here, I was fighting Sorami, and I was trying to save her!" Takajin said after he had shaken off the pain from his battle to realize where he was. And then hugged her brother tightly with tears streaking down her face, creating a wet patch on her brother's clothing.
"No she was going to kill you!" Hikaru shouted at her brother, without realizing what she was doing.
"Please I am sorry" Takajin said downcast, as he hugged his sister back.
"She trounced you because you weren't in complete Sync with your digimon partner, if you didn't notice Sorami carried the same weapons as her digimon partner, to save her you need to accomplish this too" Virgil said looking from each of the digidestined "You need complete synchronization with each of your digimon partners, before you face Sorami again"

They were in another rural area, and they were walking passed a very rundown looking pawn shop, its front display filled with TV sets, but suddenly while they were passing it a voice called out to them "Destruction is upon you children not from this world" all the TVS said all at once with the same exact words scrolling across their screens too, with a weird symbol behind it, the voice was raspy, deep, and distorted "You can't save this world, and you're going to die with it, as I will compress it and it will feed my power, and then continue on to destroy the others"
"To quote a friend of mine even though he never directly said this. Not if we destroy you first, Buddy!" Kari said with an intensity that she didn't show prior to this moment.
"And take your theatrics back to the cinema, you remind me of a movie I just watched last week!" Rika said as she stepped in between Kari and the TVs.
"Yeah" Takajin said trying to be a part of telling off the D-Nemesis but could not think of anything better top say.
As fast as the symbol on the screen had an appeared, now it was gone. Leaving the TVs blank, and filled with static, they turned away from them to see Suzie Yamaki sketching something, and putting it in her pocket. "The Symbol looked like something I have seen before, once this is over I am going to research it" she said noticing them looking at her "it might be important"
"Of course we weren't questioning that at all" Kari said shrugging off the accusation "but we hopefully gave it something to worry about"
