Fate smiled upon the Digidestined, as they defeated Abaddonmon, but a new journey is about to begin, hopefully destiny will once again look well upon them now.
A girl runs through the woods, she was frantic like something was chasing, she keeps looking back, while dodging around craggy old dead trees, there seemed to be almost no light in the forest she traversed seemingly terrified out of her mind, the thing chasing her unknown. She managed to dodge something that struck a tree to the left of her, causing the mystery girl to turn right, the forest echoed with her heavy breathing as she tried to lose that which was pursuing her, she nearly tripped over a branch in the process.
The Vale of Lilithia a kingdom 100 displaced from time, being a year since it had been restored, nothing much has happened, the kingdom still looked like it just grew out of the ground, out of some sort of bleached white ivory, and vibrated like it was a living creature, in the center sat the tower formerly known as the tower of endings, it's now called Citadel of Ankou, The leader of the group that had been called Kurokami Brigade, which now has been also renamed back to the Order of Nazar, ruling the kingdom was the girl who saved the world, the now Princess Juniko Maeda, with the help of her boyfriend Takajin Subaru, who is out visiting his home in Digitopia. Thing in the kingdom couldn't be any better, Juniko sat in her throne room, her hair a dark lavender, which had been a gift from the great old one of life showing she had saved the world. The only issue was she would someday take up the role of great old one, because she was the reincarnation of the great old one of life, and someday inherit her powers.
Juniko sat there on the throne, garbed in a green and purple gown, showing she somewhat understood her future role, but wished people didn't already referred to her as great old one. She was still a girl of fourteen of age, her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by someone shouted, and a weird girl entered the citadel, excited and hyperactive, her grayish silver hair flapping around like it was on fire, she was garbed in a pink tunic, and yellow shorts, and without a word, tackles Juniko nearly off her throne "Enna Kamiya get off me please, I can't breathe" Juniko said, trying to pry the hyper girl off her.
"Sorry, your great oldness" Enna said, pulling away from Juniko, her face flushed with embarrassment, "I am just excited for our picnic, in the oasis, you said Lorrimon would be there"
"First, stop calling me that place, I am not a great old one, why do I keep having to remind you I am not Lilithmon" Juniko said, cringing internally.
"Sorry, your highness, you look so much like, obviously since you are her incarnation, I keep forgetting you are your own person" Enna said, exhaling as her digimon partner, Spadamon shuffled in, a big grin on his face, like there wasn't a care in the world. Next to him was Mikemon, who was Juniko's digimon partner.
"This day was going to be a long day" Juniko said, mainly talking to herself, not knowing how right she actually was, and they would go bad very quickly.
Digimon Sync 02 Episode 1 "What a Wonderful World (PT 1)"
"How is Juniko doing, how is she taking to her new responsibility, her kingdom that everyone though never existed, and there was always a hole in the planet, like it was always a doughnut?" Rao asked, looking at Takajin quizzically, having not seen him for over a year now.
"Yes like I said before the Vale of Lilithia did exist, it was stuck in the towers buffer for over a hundred years, being there is like stepping out of time, the people are so culturally backwards, you can't blame them with being so out of touch with the current times" Takajin said, looking annoyed at getting more questions from his friend. "But it's kind of cool, it's like it grew naturally out of the ground, made from the purest stones, and its vibration is like the whole city is singing to you" it was weird, he was home now, but he was getting homesick being here, thinking about the vale. Maybe he should head back as soon as possible, Juniko is possible missing him right, he had went through a lot to get her back. Looking around, he realized his kingdom had changed so much, it had opened itself to the world, after the protective barrier came down, and it opened free trade with The Kingdom of Suzubuya, now called the Republic of Suzubuya. Everything had changed so much, he and Rao were heading once again to see the annulment stone, and one of the stones that nearly for the second time ended the world.
"Why do we keep checking the stone again, since you brought it back here, you don't go a day without going to it?" Rao asked, again like each day before, like it was a chore doing so.
"It protects this kingdom once again, from darkness, even though no one sees the barrier, and it doesn't hide this kingdom by making it look like a mountain, it's still all around us" Takajin answered, for the umpteenth time.
They reached the stone, carved in it surface was some of the symbols of the digichips, three in total, the one that was now placed in the oasis had four symbols, when they got in visual range, it was noticeable something was missing, one of the symbols was gone, Takajin ran up to examine it, the symbol for the chip of light was gone, it was like it completely fade off, he needed to head to the Oasis right now, he needed to talk to Lorrimon, as soon as possible. He turned, ignoring a question his friend was asking and, it was nearly a day's travel to the nearest mirror portal, he went to his house first got supplies, got his digivice and digichip, left a note for his parents, so they don't wonder where he was. He met up with his digimon partner Summon, who was torturing the local cats.
"Brother, where are you going" a voice called from behind Takajin, which caused him to turn and come face to face with his sister Hikaru, who looked annoyed with him, he had only been there for a week and now he was leaving again, since he had stayed the vale their fashion sense had changed, at least he did, he wore purple and green, while Hikaru still wore blue and green again, even though she did dawn the white poncho every now and then. "Where ever you are going I am coming with you, " she dropped a duffel bag, which had been a gift from the sages, she always had it packed since she had returned to Digitopia a year ago. Takajin smiled and gestured for her top follow him, and she picked up her bag and followed.
"The Symbol of light is gone from the annulment stone, I am heading to see Lorrimon, I hope she knows what is going on" Takajin said, right as they left Digitopia, on what seemingly was a new adventure. They would reach the nearest mirror portal by tomorrow afternoon.
-The Archive Pyramid-
That's when the great old one Lilithmon with the help of the digidestined took up the sword Vatae, the blade of life, and struck down the evil demon of destruction Abaddonmon, and restored the balance of the world as we know" a girl said, dressed in a red sages poncho, reading from a glowing tablet, her face covered with a cloth mask, in front of her several children, who were around 7 years of age, her in her late teens.
"That's always my favorite please tell it again, oh Sorami the Sage" an excited red haired young girl, as she clapped rapidly.
Pulling back her mask, her silver hair, dropped to her shoulders, Sorami Kamiya had joined the sages a year ago, she had been through almost everything in the archive, because of that had become a new person, she was now a true believer in the light of Lilithmon, she still missed her father, but he died a long time ago, even before he knew he was dead himself, she had accepted that too. Over a few months ago, she had finally dawned the Infinitas sage's attire, it was taking the rest of the former guardians to do the same.
"Dinner time" Virgil Star shouted, he also wears the red poncho of the sages, he had also taken his mentors last name, as a tribute to him. All the children got up and ran towards him, and his digimon partner Starmon. Sorami followed shortly after, she felt old having to take care of children at age 16 going 17 at a few months' time. When she got into earshot of him "I am so happy to see so many people visiting this temple and bringing their children, it's great having so many future sages" he looked at her expression taking measure of it "do you ever miss being a digidestined, and wonder if the next person to wield the chip of friendship will use it wisely"
"It was fun while it lasted, but it took its toll on me personally, being used by my father, trying to make me either kill the other digidestined and die trying or just die trying, then having to watch him die while obsessed with power instead of actually trying to save the world" Sorami said, pausing before continuing "I wish whoever gets the digichip of friendship, some much needed good luck"
"Whoever it is I wish them luck too, since that person would have to be teamed up with me, I would myself luck too dealing with them" Virgil said, with a chuckle.
That was when a man shambled into the area, and made his way slowly towards Virgil and Sorami, he was pale as a sheet, and walking like a mannequin "You will soon be dead, say goodbye to the light!" He said, before falling to the ground, a black liquid coming out of his mouth and forming a circle that turned into the symbol of a snake eating itself.
"Migoku, get everyone into the pyramid fast" Virgil and Sorami shouted, at the same time, a man with an eye patch ushered everyone that was still outside, to dropped what they were doing and entered the archive.
-Oasis-
After meeting up with Huang, and his brothers, they arrived at the oasis with Juniko and Enna, accompanied by each of their digimon partners, Babydmon sleeping on Huang's shoulder, the oasis was a beautiful landscape of flowers, a waterfall, and strange glowing lake that was breathtaking, all visible as they stepped out of the mirror portal. Lorrimon was waiting for them, she was happy, her face bared a wide grin, hugged Juniko "Nice to see you big sister," she said, ignoring the awkward expression, Juniko never corrected Lorrimon, because she knew her heart was in the right place, and after the awakening, she did have somewhat a slight resemblance to Lilithmon, and might become her someday despite all her hope not to. Right now Lorrimon was the great one of light and life, taking on the responsibility of her sister to maintain all life on the planet.
"So how are you doing?" Juniko said, hoping that asking this would dislodge the crushing bear hug that Lorrimon had on her, which it did, and she could breathe again.
"Hug me now!" Enna said, pleadingly as she tackled Lorrimon, they both laughed energetically, as they seemed to be wrestling on the ground, showing how weird Enna was.
"Enna you never change, I remember watching you all those years ago, the hyperactive wonder of the world, when you were taking care of your garden, and how is your new one doing over at the tower?" Lorrimon asked, finally giving in and hugging Enna. "Juniko, she is over 100 years displaced, you need to have patience with her, she might technically be older than you, but is actually younger than you by 2 years, but also technically you are over a thousand years older than her, if you count your previous lifetime" she ignore the expression on Juniko's face that said you had to bring that up again.
"My garden is doing great" Enna said, ignoring the awkwardness of the direction of the conversation had gone in.
"I have some bulbs you can plant, I created some beautiful flowers just for you, I'll give them to you right before you leave" Lorrimon said, with the glint of pride in her eyes.
"Sweet, looking forward to seeing them bloom!" Enna said, excitedly, jumping on the spot, causing Lorrimon to let go of the hug, her digimon partner Spadamon, looking annoyed with her, his expression a constant scowl. "I wish I could make a garden as beautiful as the one in the oasis" she said mainly to herself, as she twirled around everyone.
"Someday you probably will" Lorrimon said, smiling, happy about bringing a smile to her friend's face, it had been such a long time since she had been so happy, today happened to be the anniversary of the defeat of her sister by the original digidestined over a hundred years, she was happy history hadn't repeated itself with the reincarnation. She was going to help Juniko become Lilithmon again, the bringer of life, so she didn't have to be responsible for both life and light.
Juniko scowled knowing, what that expression on Lorrimon meant, she was thinking of her as Lilithmon once again "So are we having this picnic or not?" She said, hoping to interrupt her train of thought, bringing it back to current time. Lorrimon nodded and gestured for everyone to follow her. They didn't go very far, till they stood in front of a fountain, its crystalline water and glowing, standing in front of it was Kazemon, her wings fluttered as she filled a bucket with water from the fountain, she was the caretaker of the oasis, she was a hybrid, her wings reflected the glowing of the water, she turned and was startled, she hadn't noticed their arrival.
"0h Lorrimon I am sorry I forgot you were having guests here; it's been a long time since… I am so sorry I should have been there to greet you all when your arrival… please forgive me, I get so awfully distracted at times… oh no I forgot the food please pardon me" Kazemon said, without letting anyone have time to speak, she was off before anyone could respond, to let her know that they already had the food with them.
Lorrimon laughed, at Kazemon's seemingly panic attack, and running off "Believe me she is very reliable, but she can be very distracted or panicked at times," she said, as Kazemon returned, and stood there catching her breath. She bowed rapidly nearly throwing herself face first into the ground.
"Sorry I wasn't paying attention" Kazemon said, as she nearly tripped and fell on her face, only to be caught by Lorrimon, she pulled away nervously, and started tapping on her own head with the knuckles of her right fist, causing her to flinch with each impact.
"Can you stop doing that, as a hybrid, you are making me look bad" Lorrimon said, with a cheerful laugh, grabbing hold of Kazemon's hand, stopping her tapping, this contact made Kazemon blush bright crimson, and faint.
-Location Unknown-
The girl continued to run through the woods, the scenery started changing around her like reality was warping around her, but she kept going forward her cloak covering her face, the only thing visible was her long purple hair, the shadows made it impossible to see her face. Her breathing was ragged, and seem on the verge of exhaustion, she tripped but got back up again, nothing was going to stop her from reaching her intended destination. No matter how her surrounding wanted to confuse and disorient, she knew where she was going and how to get there, but whatever was chasing her, kept its distance, like a hungry predator, the girl finally reached a clearing, in it was a tombstone like monument free standing and dwarfed the girl by a few feet, it was dark obsidian in color, bearing the symbol of creature eating its own tail, the girl started chanting something, she then cut her hand and placed it on the monument, "Khandar Estrada khandos thrus indactu nosfrandus khandar dematos khandar" she shouted, at the grave, the snake symbol began to move.
"What have you done" a figure said, as they appeared behind her, it was Kitsumon, who was now trembling.
The girl pulled back her hood, revealing her pale skinned face, "Bringing forth an age of darkness" she said grinning insanely.
"Karone Melody, I need to worn the others of what you have done here!" Kitsumon said, before vanishing, as the monument, cracked in half, spewing out darkness.
"Rise my Chaotic lord of darkness, I am your harbinger!" Karone said as she broke into insane laughter. She twirled on the spot.
Five figures appeared in, four of their faces and bodies cloaked in shadow, that was emanating from them, except the pale face of the one in the center, , his face looking like it was going to crack apart at any moment, except his eyes black rimmed. all of them clad, suits of blackened gold armor, that looked like snake scale. Karone instantly dropped to her knees in front of them, and bowed deeply, her face touching the ground like she was kissing. Without a word the figures shot in the air leaving a black trail behind them.
"Burn this world to a crisp my lord" Karone said, as the figure almost gone, looking up from her bow.
-Oasis-
They all ate and laughed, sitting in the middle of a beautiful meadow, which shimmered as it reflected the sun. Enna bent over and sniffed one of the flowers, her cheeks flushed red, she loved everything that grew from the earth, it was a connection between her and the great old ones she worshipped. Then she went back to pastries in her mouth. The oasis had to be the most beautiful thing to behold on the face of the planet. Juniko wondered to herself if this was what the afterlife beyond the door looked like, sadly she would never get to see it though, she was destined to take her place as the great old one of life, dying for her could spell the end of everything.
Lorrimon suddenly looked dizzy, like she had drunk some very pungent alcohol, but she hadn't, she wobbled back and forth before snapping out of it. She looked around, like she was looking for something, momentarily forgetting they were all there, she was still some sort of trance, then she finally refocused on the people with her. "What the heck was that, it was like something familiar just screamed at me" she said, in a worried tone of voice.
"You were off somewhere for a moment, like mentally you weren't here anymore" Juniko said, looking at Lorrimon with concern in her eyes, and tone.
"I don't it was like something has upset the balance of the world, something that was once a part of it, but hasn't been around for a very long time" Lorrimon said, trying to feel for what it was again, its presence fading as she did so.
That's when Kitsumon Appeared in the oasis, she was in a panic, and she kept rambling on in gibberish, making no sense at all, with anything she said, Juniko ran up to her, and tried to calm her down, it took several minutes before she got a hold of herself to the point of making sense "He's back!"
"Who is back!" Lorrimon said, her expression going to serious, her expression read that she already knew the answer to her question.
But before Kitsumon could answer, streaks of black hit the ground across from them, and formed into unidentified figures, "I am the one who is back" The Figure said, in the center of the ones who appeared "Sister aren't you happy to see me?" He paused, his gaunt, pale white face, seemingly in a state of cracking apart, black circled his eyes, those that were glaring a hole in Lorrimon "We seem to be crashing your picnic, oh how rude of us, we forgot to introduce ourselves, I am Erebosmon, around me are my children the Oroburos Knights, Nyxdramon, Thanatosmon, Aethermon. Sister now introduce your guests; it would be rude for us not knowing who we are going to kill"
Huang stood having been quiet for most of the time they had been there "We are digidestined" he said, as Juniko stood up and joined him. They both pulled out their digi chips, and looked like they were going to fight the new comers. Which one of them was now holding a scythe, and twirled it, ignoring what Huang had said. The one to the far left seemingly the only girl one among them snorted a laugh. All but one of them looked at them all they were ants to be crushed, except one nearest to Erebosmon, who seem preoccupied with a random spot up in the sky.
"We have the power to defeat…" Juniko started, but was interrupted by Lorrimon, giving her a gesture of please stop now.
"Please brother, can we talk this through, I understand why you are angry, You were impression for over a thousand years, in the Tartarus seal, Lilithmon and I have always, but didn't know who to get around what would happen if you were freed to and take your wrath out on us all, I am sorry we over reacted and did this to you" Lorrimon said, pleading to her older brother, "Erebosmon please listen to me I am truly sorry"
"Apology unaccepted, I do not forgive blood that turned against their own kin, I only wanted to help you, I didn't know you had already started creating life when I created mine, and mine would start to kill yours, I now want to take that which you create away, like you did to mine, and What a Wonderful world it is to bring to ruin" Erebosmon said, his words dripping with white hot rage. Lorrimon went to continue, but he raised his voice, and the whole oasis shook as he roared at her the word "silence", it knocked all the humans off their feet, and made Lorrimon and Kazemon take a few steps backwards. That's when he walked over to Lorrimon and picked her up by her neck, and lifting her up over his head, she struggled, as he just held her there.
Babydimon digivolved to Slayerdramon, and charged at Erebosmon, only to be backhanded away by the hand that hadn't been holding Lorrimon, he dedigivolved landing out cold on the ground, Juniko ran over to her digimon partner Mikemon, and looked like they were about to attack too.
Erebosmon anger manifested itself in the blackness around his eyes, increasing, increasing with the intensity of his hatred, he quickly punched Lorrimon launching her into a nearby fountain, the red of blood colors of the water in it, she fell out with a thud, to the ground in front of it. She turned to the digidestined, Enna, and Huang's brothers. "RUN!" She screamed at them.
They did what they were told, and ran toward the mirror gate, Lorrimon bringing up the rear. Huang barely dodged a scythe that was aimed at him as he ran, it impacted and returned to the one who threw it, Lorrimon blasted it away when it was thrown at them again. Nyxdramon spread her wings and launched into the air, and raven screech laughed. Juniko barely dodged a dive, her daggers had been aimed to take off her head.
Kazemon joined them, using her powers to increase everyone's running. The mirror was now in view, its shimmering glow a welcoming sight, until stood beside it, who examined his own hand, the black marking around his eyes resembled blackened blood-like tears, Lorrimon appeared behind him and tackled him away from the mirror, everyone ran passed, Juniko hesitating, trying to reach Lorrimon, only to be shoved through the mirror by her.
They all were at the Lilithia now, Juniko turned hoping to see Lorrimon appear from the mirror, but instead the mirror briefly turned black, and the symbol of the creature eating its own tail appeared and vanished as it turned back to normal. The sound of big explosion sounded off in the distance, and darkness shot into the air, it covered everything except Lilithia, and some other points of light in the distance.
"This is not good" Juniko said, dropping to her knees "This is the same darkness that covered the green zone, anyone caught in, this will be turned into stone and then will become Sentinels, creatures the legendary digidestined fought" She stared out into the distance, wondering where Takajin was, please let him not be out in that, she didn't know what she would do if something happened to him, she would rather die in his place if it meant he would remain alive.
Things unseen guttural growled in the distance, one jumped into Lilithia but dissolved immediately, giving a painful shriek as it did so, those that had been with the one who jumped in, knew better and left growling in a blood thirsty rage as they did so, things as they were standing were really bad, everything they had gained now seemed gone. "We need to gather the rest of the digidestined, we have a battle to fight!"
